Non LA residents price is $25 plus $16 parking. The building outside looks fantastic when you go inside it looks outdated and in needs of urgent renovations. The Museum was packed with visitors and I wonder where all the money goes to? Certainly not into the museum infrastructure! Elevators where broken and had many, many galleries closed down. It s a shame because this museum has a very nice and reputable collection! Also the Staff could be nicer and not egocentric.

Scam.

Scam.

Fountains are off, more than half of the sites are closed due to renovation, they say. As long as we have been there no renovation noises heard or seen something. You have to pay the full entrance fee despite the fact that so many are closed. Filthy toilets. We paid 80 dollars with the 2 of us for the entrance and parking. The buildings appear large from the outside, but only the ground floor is accessible for about half of the inside. There was even an aisle with only empty canvases.

Not recommended.

The security guard was an ass. We came to see the lights and all of a sudden, the security guard shouted at us to get out. We politely asked where to go and see the lights and he said "You guys should have went around. You guys dumb!" I swear to god, if I wasn't civilized I would have knuckled his dumbass face. My uncle is even thinking about suing them.

Popular tourist attraction. The Urban Lights exhibit is free, the museum itself is not (but you can get free admission when LA has its museum day). If you're going to the Urban Lights, be prepared. It can be very crowded or people may be filming. There's parking right across from the exhibit and there's a parking structure. Not so shockingly, a lot of people go to take pictures so it can be challenging to get a perfect picture with nobody in the background. The good thing is the exhibit is so picturesque that you can get a nice photo with just your phone.

LACMA is a great Los Angeles institution. Sure it's not as grand and awe-inspiring as the Getty, but this is an accessible, vital place for art in the heart of LA. I hadn't been in a while, but a Groupon offering half off an annual membership enticed me to pay a visit. I like the new additions they've built (forget the name associated with it), with the bright red steel supports that add some visual pizzazz. I got to check out the following exhibits: "Fashioning Fashion: European Dress in Detail, 1700-1915," "
Olmec: Colossal Masterworks of Ancient Mexico," and "Eye for the Sensual: Selections from the Resnick Collection." Since I have an annual membership now I didn't feel the need to overload--a short and sweet couple of hours, a walk around the tar pits and a jaunt over to the farmer's market made it an awesome LACMA day.

A great place to go and experience art at its finest in West LA. Lots of fun and interesting exhibits, with plenty of places to hang out or have some food and coffee. The parking is steep if you opt for the on-site garage, so fill up your car with people who are willing to chip in.

Art and art. A crazy quilt of building styles. (Some history: There was a contest to choose a winning architect for a unified design for an expansion. Rem Koolhaus won. Then the money people turned the winning bid down and erected an additional unmatched building to the campus.)
Fronted by Chris Burton's display of a storage yard for old-style street lights. Great for pictures!

Chagall: Fantasies for the Stage is an extraordinary exhibit - stunningly beautiful pieces - sketches, paintings, photographs, films, and most importantly, original costumes from four theatrical works (ballet & opera) staged in 40's after Chagall emigrated from Russia with the assistance of the Museum of Modern Art in New York - perfectly exhibited in a manner that remind the visitor that the pieces were designed to move and help tell the story of each ballet/opera, all immeasurably elevated by Chagall's one of a kind artistry. The exhibit is at LACMA through early January and shouldn't be missed!

This is a perfect family day destination. Great art, great food and great activities around every corner. There is so much to explore and see as well as hear. We listened to a group talk about the Picasso exhibit and learned so much! My husband and I sat in the courtyard and drank a glass of wine that helped wash down a delicious chocolate chunk cookie and a slice of apple pie while the girls had sodas and sugar cookies. It was a delightfully fun day!

Beautiful museum with many types of art. Split into 5 campuses, specializing in foreign and exhibition, modern, European, ancient, and more. Do note that many of the best exhibitions are closed for renovations through 2022 roughly.

This is a nice museum with decent exhibits and an appropriate size for me to complete all its exhibition in a little over half a day. I like when my ticket gets fully paid off by visiting all I want to see in a museum. Great museum in the county.

Art is very subjective so I cannot tell you why you will enjoy LACMA (pronounced lack - MA), but I can guarantee you'll be able to find an individual piece of art or entire exhibit that draws your attention and makes you catch your breath, in the best of ways. There's a lot to take in, a lot of potential great photo opportunity spots, a lot of pieces to enjoy, and a lot of great staff who'll inform you and answer all your questions. I would highly recommend visiting this museum.

You cannot miss this photogenic spot when in LA. This is a signature photo spot when you re in town; therefore, it is always crowded. The light looks much smaller outside. It is also important to choose the time. I went at afternoon time and I think that s the most crowded time. My friends went at later night time and it s much better. It also depends on if you want the photos in the daylight or night time. Each time has its own pretty!

I have been to many museums but this one is the only one that offers a military discount for Veterans Free so I made a donation in the amount of my ticket 25 dollars. Has four buildings not enough time to see them all. As I left they were having a live concert "Latin Sounds" I can not wait to see the other buildings!

I enjoyed my visit to LACMA. There is an amazing variety of styles of art and exhibitions from different places and eras. There's a lot to see, and you can easily spend most of a day going through all the different displays.

Large museum with multiple buildings and exhibits. The outdoor exhibits, such as the big rock you can walk under and the lamp posts, are fun for picture taking. Be prepared to do a lot of walking!
