I ve had Two house calls from Choice Home care this week. Both meetings have been very helpful and productive.. Brian is very knowledgeable and professional . I have had the opportunity of working with a variety of P T s over the years and Brian is one of the best .
Very poorly operated. The management, Christina and Vicki and staff Brian are extremely unprofessional. They treat their employees very poorly. They are fairly new to this business and uneducated on how to run it properly. They do not care what the clients needs are. They do not care about their employees and their concerns. They just want the company to be hired for the job even if they do not have a qualified employee.
Everyone quits. They can't afford to fire anyone because they can't keep anyone.
I suggest to go elsewhere when looking for support for a loved one or if you're looking for employment because this company is simply a waste of time.
Choice isn't a good choice for a company taking care of patients. This company doesn't provide their employees with proper equipment like facial masks or gloves.
The caregiver that assisted my Father from Choice had a homemade mask that she purchased herself from a lady in Salinas.
However a homemade mask doesn't meet proper required CDC guidelines for a caregiver. As for medical gloves their caregiver didn't have any. She used supplies I bought for myself and family members.
What really angers me is I 100% believe that the caregiver from Choice brought Covid-19 into our home. Everyone was affected and I will go to my grave blaming this company for my Father's death on October 9, 2020.
Management of this company is deplorable and untrustworthy.
This company hires employees who mentally abuse the patients along with the management !! Management now I can say She is the worst ever very unprofessional and is verbally abusive with clients!! Clients feel threatned by this company when they have no family members at their side because they may live in a different country, or too busy working or even just because they are busy with their own daily lives. Choice Management also over charges the clients for hours they did not have a caretaker they would sometimes charge the clients for overtime hours the caretaker may have worked on another shift so choice wouldn't have to pay out they billed client instead that is wrong!! Caretakers that work the night shift think it's ok to sleep and bring their blankets that is not ok when your are on the clock the caretaker is suppose to be available for the client, if client is in need to get up to use the toilet etc... client should not have to yell out Caretakers name a few times in order for them to wake up that is not ok! Daniel(Danny) who works for this company is a controlling, abusive verbally, intimidating caretaker he is also a thief you are not allowed to take money from the clients but apparently he got away with it a few times!! taking advantage of the elderly is absurd this man shouldn't even be allowed to be a caretaker it saddens and makes me sick to my stomache knowing this man has gotten away with all he has done even with several witnesses. But I will say the truth always comes to light. This company needs to really be investigated Managemnt allows things to happen that should never happen in this type of work place it's unbelievable how this company treats and talks to their clients because they are elderly and may not have family around to witness what's going on! I believe if they do a thorough investigation they will get the truth about what has been taking place if they went out and talked to the clients about a few of the workers especially management!! I would not want my mother or father in care with this place it's a shame!! The workers are lazy sit on their phones and gossip when they get the chance !! I would never recommend this company to not even my worst enemy !! Please please do not put yourself or your loved one in care with this company for the people that have been taken advantage of already and been treated wrong my heart goes out to them because during those times I can imagine how they felt because noone believed them or didn't want to listen to them the client was just ignored, and told that they were lying , or even told they didn't know what they were talking about... Before I end this I do have to say they may not do it to every client but just one client is enough and if these caretakers and management do this once they will do it again. Hope someone really investigates this with even prior past clients and all who is doing wrong can find another line of work because this job is not for them !!!
I decided to reply to the Craigslist ad. Sent my cover letter and resume to Choice, but no response whatsoever. So, I've called Choice and a receptionist encouraged me to walk in and fill out an application. I did, and I realized that it may end up being a waste of time, after all, while filling out a 50 page long application forms. Receptionists were chatting away eating snacks talking about makeup brands. I bet those kinds of conversations go on on a daily basis. It wasn't the first time when I was there. I consider receptionists as the front line workers. And if they are not serious-minded people, I don't believe Choice is a serious company period. Choice needs to realize the time people take to apply for a job, and at least give applicants confirmation/heads-up as to whether it's a yes or a no, to show us that they are doing something about it. All the while advertising for a position, and never following up on the applicant is far from professional, quite rude, and even creepy.
