Excellent ambience and courteous staff combined with great service. Has an old world charm about it with a rich depiction of Kerala heritage. Food is excellent for the most part and plenty of activities at the resort to keep everyone in the family busy. Overall a great place to visit and stay at.

We stayed here as a family for few nights. It is the perfect place to unwind and the grounds are stunning. Our room was beautiful, with our own private pool and outdoor shower. My only negative comment is that the food is distinctly average, the pool menu has no other options other than sandwiches or burgers (nothing healthy!) and the food in both the buffet and seafood restaurant was disappointing although breakfast provides a much better standard. The additional highlights of the hotel including the spa and sunset lake cruise are wonderful and we had an amazing time I just wish the food had been of better quality so I could give five stars.
An amazing place to go to for a really good backwater experience! The food was really amazing as it had a balance of vegetarian as well as non vegetarian food. Would love to visit again!

Tropical resort adjacent to Kumarakom Lake which a backwater lagoon. Comfortable rooms and exotic shower rooms open to sky. Choice of food. House Boat cruise in the Kumarakom Lake is memorable. One should also take a ride on canoe type boat along the back canals of Kumarakom.
A fantastic hotel, located at Vembanad lake. The hotel is wonderfully nice, the rooms were incredibly fresh. Felt a bit like having a bathroom outdoors. The food was absolutely fantastic, very good choice for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The pool area was really cool when you could swim around in the area to the neighbor. The staff were very nice people and really accommodating. A place to long for.

We stayed in the villa close to the lake. It was spectacularly scenic. The villa was beautifully done in classic Kerala architecture, and had a private pool. Our favorite activity was to take an early morning walk along the lake. Service was awesome, the Indian food was of the highest quality. Would go there again in a heartbeat.
It is a beautiful resort that blends together the beauty of nature and the heritage of Kerala. Lovely villas with pools make for an excellent stay in the midst of luxury blended with heritage. The food that includes local, Continental, and Indian cuisines is a feast for the palate. The icing is the smiling service that is present everywhere.

We visited Kumarakom Lake Resort during the month of March and stayed at the Meandering Pools. The magnificent & serene property won our hearts and we enjoyed every second of our stay. The room was large, majestic and the decor was vintage. The room was enclosed with an open shower where you can enjoy rain shower when it rains. A set of large glass doors leads to the enclosed meandering pool.
The food is great and they pay extra attention to their guests' food allergies. The seafood restaurant is a must visit.
Lake Kumarakom resort is beautifully designed with extreme attention to detail. The place itself is rejuvenating. Unfortunately my husband and I felt the staff could be more attentive. The massage we took on day 1 ended up aggravating the back pain my husband had informed the staff about before commencing the massage. What followed was 2 hellish days in extreme immobilising back pain. To add to it there was a wedding or some event on at the same time that completely took the peace and quiet out of the place. I think guests should be informed in prior if there is going to be any events on at the same time or at least offered a decent discount for the nuisance! With a sore back the last thing you want to hear is someone yelling on a microphone outside your room. Also the staff got extremely pre occupied with the wedding/event party and lacked in service for the rest of the guests or us at least. While I m on a rant I might as well add, we didn t even get any coconut water!!!!

This outstanding property. Wonderful location. Situated on the bank of Vembnad lake or back water lake. This is second largest lake of India. Hotel is very beautifully planned. Service is good. Rooms have three categories and all are good. Food is nice. Two restaurants are there. One is for sea food attached with bar.

Set in wonderful grounds, this is a resort complex made for relaxing with wonderful views of the lake and great access to the swimming pool(s)!
Two members of staff deserve special mention: Ananthu who looked after use in the VEMBANAD fish restaurant and Bibin Matthew in the main dinning restaurant. Both waiters were very professional, attentive and a credit to the hotel. Thank you. David Klapper

A beautiful resort in God's own country. Lavish green grounds and all amenities of a 5 start resort. The water is not as clean as should have been, taking into account its a luxury resort but no other complaints. Very well maintained and friendly staff
One of the most classy experiences in lifetime. The ambiance and its maintainence is worth appreciation. The hospitality is at a very different level. They literally make you feel like owners.. many few resorts give that kind of feeling. Donot miss on the raspberry and bitter orange preserves at breakfast table.. night stay in the houseboat is really amazing and the beauty in and around the resort is not comparable to any other resorts. The uniqueness comes from well thought layout and relaxing spots across the resort where you get to see the serene beauty of nature..

I stayed here mid february this year after a last minute decision to get away for a week. I surprised that staff are all amazing, the food as good as you could expect and the rooms and bedding exceptionally comfortable. Again the staff was superb, food selections are good.

Beautiful location, rich ethnic landscape and ancient kerala architecture add to the unique experience at Kumarakom lake resort. Open to sky showers and meandering pool are tastefully designed. The only hiccup was the service and attitude. Bit overly priced and service was not upto expectations.

The property is undoubtedly one of the finest in Kumarakom.. but the food and service was below par. We do not expect the salads, starters and the main course to be put on the table in one go. The food was average as compared to Aveda.
Verdict: Stay here and eat at aveda. The staff over there is adorable!
