Awoke at 5:45am to get in line for bus in downtown Charleston. Was in line at 6:15am. They had plenty of buses, but only loaded 3 buses at a time. They closed the bridge at 7am so we took the long way to get to the start and I was on the bus when the race started. Had to race to the start and no time for a much needed stop at a portapotty, Was able to get to the start just in time to join the back of my assigned corral.
The corrals are a joke no one in the corral was running at their seed time and many were walking. They have signs for walkers to stay to the right, but none did and no marshals to get walkers to the right. Many early bottlenecks meant I didn't reach my stride until mile 3. Another bottleneck on King St. near the finish caused my time to be off by more than 5 minutes.
Why they don't board many busses at once and allow busses to cross the bridge was an epic fail. This is a race that claims to have great organization, but if they can't get you to the start on time I would beg to differ,
