Excellent hotel with superb breakfast and lunch at on premises restaurant! The price seems to be a bit higher vs. similar hotels in other countries, but Finland is not the cheapest country, so it was somewhat expected.

Reception staff were friendly and served with a full dozen. Breakfast was wonderful, especially the porridge and the Pielinen smoked vendace. Location perfect. The absence of the sauna was a big deficiency, and a strange thing. Due to the lack of a sauna I will hardly use the hotel for just one night stay, now I was 3 nights, and the lack of a sauna disturbed me. Tapas Thursdays recommend to everyone.
I love the hotel. The rooms are OK, breakfast is very good and it's so near to the office. Staff is so nice and make you feel so good. My only recommendation would be to have a small desk to work instead of the accessory in the bed. I normally go for business and a desk even if it's small would be convenience for me. I travel frequently in countries all around Europe and this is one of my favourites. Congrats!
We actually had a nice room with an extraordinary bathroom. But considering the price the hotel wasn't that special. The corridors were quite worn and loud. Our friends on the street side were bothered by the traffic noise, especially the tram, even though the room was located in the sixth floor. The staff were very friendly, but the breakfast was only little more than mediocre. One star goes to the restaurant located in the same building named Toscanini, which I highly recommend! See pictures of our desserts below
Excellent location. The hotel has already gone a little. Restaurant excellent. Breakfast big disappointment. The range of limited and gluten-free products was unhappy. For example, gluten-free bread is only a light loaf of bread and one kind of muesli. That was it. Otherwise, the amount of fruit, vegetables, cold cuts, etc. was a design hotel. The bed was good. As a view from the window, the air conditioner and the wall were depressing, albeit guaranteeing the noise of peace traffic.
We were very disappointed with the customer service we received. At login, we didn't find our answer. Your customer service was very dirty. I think it is very unfortunate to assume that the fault would be the customer and we would not have booked the room. After the reservation was found, your customer service officer bluntly blamed us for using the booking for the reserve and it was not found. If we had booked a hotel site there would have been no problems. He did not apologize in any way. The charge for the reservation also became unclear. First it was not paid, then it was and then we left the room. At the time of check-out, a message was left again that the reservation was not paid via booking. This was finally restored. However, on top of all, I remembered that no one regretted, asked about our entertainment or even wanted a good day. We asked spas and only answered that you had to reserve time and find out what treatments are available. I do not understand how we were treated this way. Really bad taste in mouth. I've heard of you a lot of good, but a personal experience failed to reach the ranks very high.
Nice Design Hotel but not one of the absolute best. Generally has a good feel and decorative scheme, although nothing earth-shattering. Rooms are small as you would expect in a European city centre. Other hotels with similarly small rooms have been more inventive about squeezing in some work space though. Cosy bar. Well-located with nice streetscapes from the windows.
So far we have had a very pleasant experience at Klaus K.
The Room: The images online were not deceptive in anyway and everything is very nice. The only thing that is odd at all is that there is a glass wall by the shower, but it is mostly open, which can be drafty, but everything else is great and as expected.
The Service: We have had limited interaction with the staff, but everyone was very nice thus far.
The Food: Everything we have had is delicious.
The Gym: The gym is larger and the set of equipment is broader than any other hotel I have ever stayed at.
Clean, comfortable hotel. Slightly small rooms, but with more paying room size improves. I may not recommend it for children but for a couple on a romantic weekend. A fine breakfast.
The room was wonderfully quiet and staff very friendly. The only minus was the visibility of the inner courtyard, but it also understood the repairs on the street and when we asked for a quiet room. My birthday was More
I got a cheap room ( 120 / night) for a business trip. The room was small and a little crawled. The bed and pillow were good. Breakfast was delicious. The taxi service got worse once, but it wasn't the fault of the hotel. However, the bad taste was left because I acted in accordance with the hotel instructions and waited for a taxi. At that time someone had taken the ordered taxi from the street.
A very nice boutique hotel with excellent breakfast buffet. They have three kinds of coffee (two different brews and espresso) and the food is really fresh, well made and tasty. The rooms are what you'd expect: nicely designed and comfortable. The elevators and floor numbering is a little peculiar and quirky, but it is one of the best boutique hotels I've stayed at.
Loved it! Important question though!! What is the brand of shampoo/conditioner/body wash/body lotion you guys carried? I fell in love with them and was too busy running out for my wedding to make a note!
The room itself was so comfortable, AC was cool, and they even had a sewing kit which I desperately needed. Super super happy and would absolutely return, even for the shampoo alone.
We spent a week here while looking for a place to live in the area. We are Platinum Marriot members and this is a Marriott affiliated property so they upgraded us to their special floor which has individually designed rooms by various artists as well as access to a roof area where you can get drinks and snacks.
The room was stylish but a bit cramped although we didn't have any real problems. Everything worked and they gave us bottles of water each day. There were only two very small windows that were high up do it was a bit like a cable. Good for sleeping but no view.
The room comes with breakfast in the lobby area which was really nice. So many hot and cold choices and numerous beverages as well.
The staff were really friendly and answered numerous questions that we had about the hotel itself as well as the surrounding area. They will also ring a cab for you when you need. The only issue that we had was on our last night which was a Friday when the hotel got very noisy by drunk guests who were playing loud music at 3 AM. We called the front desk and they got them quoted down in fairly short order but it ruined my nights sleep.
Looking good in the pictures but feeling bad: Our room had temperature +28 and bathroom's floor was so hot it burned our feet. When we gave feedback for reception - they gave us a window key! So we opened room's windows to get relief for the heat. Outside it was -5 so of course we got cold and flu after this... If hotel staff would have been considerable they'd gave us new room but no they did not... They gave us window key! This was my worst hotel experience and I will never go again to Klaus K.
The hotel staffs ate very helpful, I had accidentally made a wrong booking, then informed reception via email at 2 am on the arrival date to change. The staff repkied me in just 30 mins to confirm the change, it was really responsive (maybe best I have ever experienced, as I did not expect very fast turnaround at 2am).
During the stay, the staffs are vey helpful to guide me on parking, some places nearby as it is first time for me in Helsinki.
For sure, I willrecommend to friends and Klaus K is one of my preferred hotel once I am back to Helsinki again. The location is superb in city center within walking distance to mega shopping area like Stockman and Forum (also can walk from main train station) and has tram stop just in front of hotel.
We took the Sky Loft room, which was unfortunately on the Separator's side, and of course Rymy-Eetu was right on our doorstep, though. So the noise at night was in line with it. TV remote control batteries end => had to stand up and take control half a meter from telkusta that work. Then the still-on-the-wall Light Automation - I didn't get a copy of its genius. So when you turned all the lights off, there were lights left on the stairs. The lights went out after a while, but when he moved in bed, the lights on the stairs were lit. In other words, the card had to be completely removed from the door so no light came into the room. Of course not so bad or something good so the room was clean and the breakfast was good. All in all, the 280.00 I paid for the room did not, in my opinion, match the quality this time.
Staff were friendly and helpful. When i checked out on tuesday around midday, got s lot of assistance from the guy on reception (have forgotten his name!) who helped with advice in spending my afternoon, getting to the airport and then helped with some printing and scanning. When i returned later to collect my bag, another receptionist was then dealing admirably with a dissatisfied customer who seemed quite full of himself and happy to be making a ruckus for seemingly very little reason. Rooms and the hotel itself were well presented, all looked very cool, very happy overall. Thanks.
We showed up before check in time and was told that our room would be available at 3pm. After walking around the town of Helsinki we were happy to know we would have a room ready for us while we got back at 4pm. We were disappointed to hear our room still wasn't ready. The staff was very service-minded and gave us an upgrade to a nicer room with sky terrace access.
The room was nice and tidy and with European standards considered big but really is the size of a standard hotel room. Another disappointment was that there was no bathtub in the room. Even though your website, says "all our rooms have a shower and bath". The air conditioner worked but never got the room below 21.5 degrees. The security safe didn't work. Overall, the room had quirks and things that didn't work; something a hotel of your caliber should execute better.
My experience is only from the bar. But what experiences those are. The bar staff is the frendliest, most professional and pretty much all around nicest people you'll meet in Helsinki. Can't decide what you're having, they have the cure. Need to unload from your work week, they'll lend their ear for you. Have an idea for an awesome cocktail, they have the skill and the know how to get it together. All night or just a pass by, this is definitely worth checking it.
Klaus K is referred to as Helsinki's first design hotel; You can tell him the age but partly also. Officially a 4 star hotel, it seemed more like a superficially design based 3 * hotel. This does not only refer to the room or facility but above all to the service. The room cleaning was negligent, the reception understaffed, the bar neither inviting but not always open (for example, you got no coffee in the afternoon). The breakfast room was nice but undersized (the hotel rightly warns itself, that the last hour (so 9-10 weekdays) was very busy). What I rarely experience in 4 * hotels: that you are asked for cappuccino (just under 5 ) and omelet (8 ) to checkout.
The rooms are relatively large but here is not the function of the function but rather the other way round. The bathrooms are extremely small (estimated 2 m2), while showering, the entire floor is wet. There is not a real closet in the room, only 1-2 coatracks of about 20! cm. Our Envy king bed room was against the website not on the boulevard but in the backyard (not necessarily detrimental but misleading). The heating in the room had difficulties in spite of full power to get a pleasant temperature. Why then despite these criticisms 4 out of 5 points here? On the one hand, the ingenious location close to all the highlights: the Esplanade is a stone's throw away, the harbor, the design district ... everything is within walking distance. And secondly, you have to put the hotel performance in relation to the price: and was with 230 per night for 2 rooms / 4 people including breakfast really cheap.
The Klaus K is called Helsinki's first design hotel; however, the age is quite noticeable. Officially a 4 * hotel, it seems to be more like a 3 * hotel that is superficially based on design. This does not just refer to the rooms and furnishings. The room cleaning was careless, the reception was understaffed, the bar was not inviting nor continuously open (for example you could not get coffee in the afternoon). The breakfast room was nice but undersized (the hotel rightly warns itself that last hour (9-10 weekdays) which is very busy). What I rarely experience in 4 * hotels is that you are asked to pay for cappuccino (almost 5 ) and omelette (8 ).
The rooms are relatively large, but here is not a follow function, but rather vice versa. The bathrooms are extremely small (estimated 2 m2), when taking a shower the whole floor gets wet. There is no real wardrobe in the room, only 1-2 wardrobe rails of about 20! cm. Our Envy King size bed did not go forward to the boulevard but into the backyard. The heating in the room had difficulties to achieve a pleasant temperature in full power.
Then why 4 out of 5 points here against these criticis? On the one hand the perfect location close to all highlights: the esplanade is close by, the harbor, the design district ... everything is within walking distance. And secondly, you have to put the hotel in relation to the price: and that was good value for money with 230 per night for 2 rooms / 4 persons incl.
Klaus K is an excellent hotel. The Loft rooms are excellent; the bathrooms a paradise in comparison with European hotel bathrooms; the pillows superb; and the location superb too. Toscanini restaurant is excellent.as are several others close by. Ekberg is a wonderful coffee shop a short walk away.
There are much nicer hotels within a few blocks for the same or better price. The photos make it look much nicer than it is in person. It feels like a dark, cheap budget hotel. My room was not exactly dirty but the furniture and bathroom had lots of noticable signs of wear, lamp was broken, loud street noise. for 175 euro per night in Helsinki I expected more. Lilla Roberts or Glo hotel are miles better and similarly (or better!) priced. Really disappointed. Also it is currently 3:30 and I can hear a thumping base from a club down the street. At check in they mentioned "some street noise" but it is unacceptable that constant bass thumping is going on until 4 am. Absolute trash hotel, avoid at all costs.
The room was clean and OK, but there were certain things regarding the bathroom. The cover of the toilet seat was broken, the shower gel bottle was empty and the washbasin wasn't functional because of the distance between the faucet and washbasin. It was difficult to wash hands.
We got a room the size of a bed and no windows and heights less than 2 meters. ??? After changing the room there were windows but the rooms in the hotel are very small. Service friendly and only because 2 stars. Breakfasts poor, the products can be of good quality but there is not much to choose from. Generally, in the center of Helsinki there are many other much better hotels at similar prices. I do not recommend .
I was very glad to have received an upgrade to a sky loft room, however, I don't see any value in the upgrade. There was nothing additional offered for the upgrade as far as I could tell. The room was very oddly shaped and you couldn't even see the television from the bed. The only accessible window was in the bathroom and it was quite high. The other window was behind the bed and it was impossible to open the curtains because the headboard of the bed was in the way. The bigger issue for me was the huge amount of dust in the room. The air vent was covered in dust and behind the television (which tilted in different directions and angles on the wall) was so thick I couldn't even believe it. I requested non-allergy pillows which weren't delivered the first night and after 2 requests the next morning, were finally delivered. I also asked twice for the room to be dusted, but that never happened. My allergies were so bad when I left that I was miserable. On the plus side, the breakfast was lovely and the restaurant staff was very nice. The food in the restaurant for lunch was quite good too.
Good location in down town, great design & style. Kind of botique hotel, butvin thevSPG group Room is large, equipped (but no milk for the coffee), Comfort bed Staff is polite and helpful Beside of the high price, I was a bit dissapointed from the breakfast so didn't gave 5*
Beautiful and stylish hotel, very good customer service and a personal, modern room. I also appreciate the distinctiveness of the breakfast, not quite the most traditional serving. And the bookshelves in the breakfast room impressed. Location really central, along the traditional Boulevard. Definitely come back yet.
Pillows are small and flat. Sky lofts are nice and spacious, and we got a nice surprise (chocolates and berries) because we were celebrating our engagement. No bacon at breakfast :(
Terrible experience... I booked a room 3 months ago and arrived at the hotel tired after a long trip just to find out that they were overbooked and moving us to another hotel... Absolutely appalling!
Great elite recognition (sky loft is awesome); Central location - close to tram/train stations and Market Sq, it's literally right across the west end of Esplanadi; Wish they could provide free breakfast for top elite members in lieu of points as welcome gift but I understand Design Hotels are not required to do so
Basic room small and gloomy. Dull view of the courtyard from a tiny window. Sounds and water Lorina (shower, toilet, etc.) clearly belonged to other rooms. Breakfast different and great.
We stayed here for one night in December 2019. The location is very convenient from the main Helsinki train station (which has easy access to the airport).
The hotel decor is very nice, and the room we had (Desire King) was clean, modern and reasonably spacious.
The breakfast options were varied with a number of Finnish delicacies, and classic continental options.
Good location, but not quite top notch service. Breakfast buffet can be very crowded, and while the ingredients were local, the lack of variety didn't really impress.
There was a family with Klaus K for brunch. The food was good, the selection and service were great, the atmosphere and the environment were quite peaceful. I recommend.
Manu Times visiting Klaus, but now breakfast was begins too late (7.30) for travellers. Reception was kind ja room clean and comfortable. Breakfast wasnt as good as before, also waiter a bit bitter when coming little early.
The room was very big and nicely decorated. The view from the big windows was beautiful. I would recommend this hotel to everyone. The staff were very respectful and kind as well.
Room was neat. wide choice at breakfast. friendly very friendly bartender who knows his trade well (congratulations) very pleasant to have a drink in the bar
Great location, friendly and helpful staff. However, rooms are quite small for a good SPG hotel and for the price. Ask for a room with street view. Courtyard facing ones are quite depressing.
