Some highs snd some lows. The hotel is clean and service is good. Positives: The pools, grounds, and water features are great. Negatives: The rooms are ten years overdue for a remodel. In general the restaurants were mediocre. Overall not as nice as expected for the JW brand.

Great stay,, friendly staff, quiet and peaceful, didn't have to leave the premises because they have everything you need right there on the property. They have dinning, boat ride, shopping, ice cream, and most definitely a spa etc.. This is the place if you are looking for a place to relax. Did I mention that they are doing construction, but the JW Marriott has put up barrier so you don't here any of the noise. Thank you JW Marriott for putting the customer first.

JWMarriot is not your friend. Here the customer is never right
.My testimony is I was overcharged two days get this for a whopping 570.00.The hotel charged my card twice. They call athe charge a continuation of charges. They emailed me the first charge of 2 days which was absolutely correct. They did not however email me the bogus charges of two additional days. They explained it to my Black Card bank as a continuation. The statement was I failed to pay for my hotel stay .......therefore I was charged two days that I was not even at the hotel. I stayed two nights not four nights.
I did not catch the additional charge until it appeared on my statement the following month. If you have a problem with accounting at JW Marriott you will never have a chance to speak with anyone in the finance department. All calls go to voice mail and they never called me back.I have been trying to resolve this matter for months.I got the bright idea that I would go through Black Card .I tried to resolve the overcharge with them for over 4 months.Bottom line my Barclays Black Card stood with the JW Marriott Empire s bank/hotel.
What is 580.00 to a multi million dollar hotel empire? Everything.Ifinally spoke with a representative Fuller who told me so sorry and transferred me to Finance.JW Marriott Desert Springs .....They can care less.
Lesson don t use hotel check out system in your room......don t call the front desk from your room to check out........Go stand in line and check out the old fashion way where you sign your folio and that is your priceless evidence.
Done with JW Marriott .Done with Barclays Black Card.......just done!!!!!!

Enjoyed the weekend here! Played some tennis before I went to the tournament! Had quailty recommendations from the front desk! The elephant bar which served us a great lunch and I was able to take in a hair cut at salon Palm Desert barbershop! The valet service was tops as well!

MISLEADING PRICE PER NIGHT ON WEBSITE

MISLEADING PRICE PER NIGHT ON WEBSITE
After entering the dates you'd like to stay, website shows price per night as only the lowest priced night out of your stay and it shows it as per night. Doesn't say "from" that price. Only after you have selected the room you want can you see that other nights of your stay are more money and what the actual averaged price per night is. This average price information is in very small print and in order to see all of the night's prices you need to click on the summary or you would never see this. Very misleading practice and not an accident as it is standard practice at many JW Marriott hotels on their official website. Other hotels show you the averaged price per night right upfront. Pay attention to the final price before booking!

Great property with so much to see and do. Water features are the best with boats that take guests around. We were at a large convention and the space was amazing and the food was great. This place is still very fresh with the upgrades and remodeling always taking place to keep it nice.

Beautiful hotel and grounds. The boat ride is fun; clay and grass tennis courts; good restaurants; Sherman's deli around 2 miles away. The only drag was our hotel room was too hot, in spite of running the A/C the whole time. And it wasn't just our room, others complained too. A high of 122 can't be overcome by their A/C equipment.

The grounds are beautiful. The rooms are ok. For a JW Marriott, I expected better rooms. One of the sheets had ink mark on it and felt like it's been washed over a million times. Experience with the staff has been mediocre. One of the front desk person didn't seem to want to be helpful. Maybe he had a bad day. Overall, it was ok. Given the price range of this place, I expected better.

The location is very nice, however some attention to detail needs to happen on the front end and on room cleaning. Allow me to explain:

We had traveled to the hotel to photograph an event. Upon checking in, the hotel put a $500 incidental charge on our card-fair enough. However, when we charged things to the room, those charges were taken off, in addition to the $500 hold.

Next, after a long day, we grabbed some drinks and were relaxing on the patio. Low and behold, what do we find on the table, but a roach. Now, we aren't opposed to the consumption of cannabis, but the cleaning crew should have cleaned the patio, prior to receiving new guest.

Finally, the hotel charged our room to our card and not the association that we were working for, aside from the fact that we communicated the arrangements and had the event manager confirm this fact.

I give it four stars because everything was fine until the maid knocked on the door at 9 and then another person went to 10 and 11 again. When on a Saturday night we asked the departament from front desk until at what time we could check out and the lady told us that from 10 to 12.

Rooms were nice. We got rooms with two beds, and the beds seemed to be Full size. Sleeping two people in each bed was a bit difficult, but manageable. Breakfast buffet was very good. Very reasonable price. Service was exceptional. Pool where you can drink, listen to music from a live DJ, and a lot of other people vacationing. In house night club. Drinks were slightly over priced in all hotel locations. There is a golf course if you want to do that. Overall had a very relaxing weekend!

I came here twice during the eTail West conferences. The staff here could not have been nicer or better. One of my trips out was fraught with terrible flying, missing connections, and lost luggage. When I finally arrived they had some there waiting for me to make sure I got to my room okay and had everything I need. They even checked in on me. I must have looked like a mess.

Can't recommend this place enough. If I win the lottery, I'll be making regular visits :)

Perfect getaway. The atmosphere and service was very nice. The price was lower than expected. Plenty to do on and off the resort. You would need a car if you plan on any activities off the resort, unless you plan to uber.

Spent the 4th of July @ JW Marriott Desert Springs- the resort was packed and we ended up with a less than satisfying room overlooking a parking lot. It was difficult to enjoy the amenities with such a crowded space. Everyone was in good moods though spreading gracious vibes to one another and Marriott hosted a viewing platform for the Palm Desert Firework Display. It was top notch!

So outdated, carpet in the room was so old you could feel it was loose under your feet. I was in the president's sweet on the 7th floor, in 1998 it was nice, It's 2019. Jw Marriott should stand for the best, this is not the best. It is way past time to update this place. Even the food was less than average at every restaurant. This was a big letdown.

A city unto itself. This resort is kind of ridiculous, but undeniably well-crafted and you could care to visit, if your main goal was to get as fat as humanly possible. staff is great, and it's generally easy to get around. If you want a really ridiculous experience, they give boat tours of the property that begin in the lobby.

Great resort with nice amenities. Potentially long walk to your room should be kept in mind if you have many or heavy bags. Hallways seem endless. Nice pool selection and great lobby bar with multiple good food options.

Feel very good, new upgraded room. Providing a pure taste of the new furniture, modern and refined, let me put it down. It is worth mentioning that their beds and bedding, completely two large beds and bedding are perfect, not a layer of sheets, but a whole quilt cover, let me enjoy two nights. You can hear the sound of birds in the hall and get around the hotel.
But the only thing that is lacking is the pillow, which is not elastic and soft enough to be soft. But I still give the whole five stars.

Nice place to stay, however ball rooms very dingy and dirty. Staff was very helpful which somewhat makes up for it. Come Marriott you can do better. I travel across country and stay and do events at multiple JW sites. This by far was the worst ballroom across Nation.

Where to start? The JW Marriott falls in my top 10 resorts with its high end amenities like a full service salon, cabana/VIP accommodations for their pools, excellent in room dining menus plus golf. However the JWM distinguishes itself with the opportunity to enjoy unique experiences such as Gondola rides securing this 5 star Google rating.

The JW Marriott Hotel in Palm Desert is amazing!!! We visit every summer. It s beautiful inside and out! Their food is amazing too! Especially the morning buffet. You can sit outside by the lake and watch the swans swim by. It s so relaxing!! I haven t been to their spa yet but I ve heard really good things about it. The lobby has ample seating and it s fun just to hang out in and eat desert. Can t say enough about how great the JW is. The pool is gorgeous with fun cabanas. Looking forward to our next visit!

Overall nice facilities, however, having the rooms over the lobby is an absolute horrible idea. There were 2 confrences back to back so of course we couldnt switch rooms. We got to listen to loud LIVE music, and roudy drunk crowds from the bar until about 2-3am the majority of our vacation. So much for a peaceful sleep. I definitely wouldn't brink your kids there if you want them so sleep at all. Pools are nice, wait staff and concierge could be friendlier and quicker.

Nice
