Nobody would fix our outside water faucet because it looked like a lot of hard work so we called John Moore. Russell Herd came out and he was fantastic. Gave us an estimate and stuck to it. Rusty was extremely helpful with us, he went out his way to make it to our home within 30mins to meet us. We needed photos to submit to our insurance company, he provided excellent service, and the pictures were of extreme quality and he made several marks on pictures to highlight the damaged areas. I called them on Saturday and I told them I needed a camera run through my sewer pipe to confirm if there was any tree roots in the line. I asked if this would be a free estimate and they said it would be free. They gave me an appointment for Monday because a Sunday call would be $149. On Monday I had to reschedule for Tuesday at 4PM. It is now Tuesday 2:30pm and I get a call saying that a camera run would be $200.

If they would have just told me on Saturday that the camera run would be $200, I would have found someone else for Sunday. Thanks for waiting my time.

After a part failure on a new water heater...Daniel came by did a thorough inspection and diagnosed a failure of a replacement part that was recently installed on a new water heater... as the time of day was late he promised to return the next day with the part and install it.... he also promised to keep me in the loop as he could sense my frustration with the failure of a replacement part on a water heater that is still less than a year old...he arrived on time and installed the part.... waited to insure it was working....I appreciate his attention to detail and customer service....
Now only if this part doesn t fail....

Pros: We've used John Moore for a few projects around the house that I don't have time to do myself. Recently I had a floodlight installed and Fundi was my tech. He was very professional and made sure I was 100% satisfied with the work before he left. Being a licensed electrician he covered all his basis and gave me some pointers with future work..Yea me.
I would recommend John Moore for any home repair for I've experienced their quality of work, honesty and customer satisfaction.

Conns: Little pricey, but you get what you pay for these days.They do the job right.

Our experience with John Moore was NOT a good one. We had a water line that was leaking at the main meter so my husband called John Moore and they sent a technician out. His estimate was over $500, my husband was floored with the cost. We are on a fixed income and told the gentleman that we could not afford to have the work done. My husband called the office and spoke someone that said that they would give us a break on the cost. So, my husband had the guy come out to fix the leak. It took him about 30 minutes and that included the time to type in the ticket on his computer. The charge came out to $349.99 for a job less than 30 minutes. I don't think some doctors even make that much an hour. I called the office/call center and asked for a receipt since we were not given one at the completion of the work. It took a week before we were sent a copy. Anyway, every time a John Moore commercial comes on the t.v. I get sick to my stomach knowing we were over charged.

Charles came out to add some wiring so I could connect my WiFi thermostat. Found another minor problem and just made the change without charging me. After no cool air for four hours, I put in another call to their dispatch. Charles came back out (quickly after my call) and discovered an issue with the AC unit itself. Stayed after his normal time off to finish the job so we wouldn t have to be without AC for the night. Great attitude throughout. Oh, and did I mention this was on the 4th of July? Will definitely use John Moore again as the need arises.

I use a wheelchair & needed service to a leaky toilet. Troy W came out, did the initial assessment & we agreed on a replacement. After the new toilet was installed I found to my astonishment that my showerchair couldn't fit over it. Troy W went WELL out of his way to 1) attempt modifications to showerchair so it would fit. Failing that, he 2) replaced the aforementioned bowl with an ADA compliant one. It worked perfectly and Troy W didn't leave until he quadruple checked its functionality and accessibility. Troy W & John Moore have my up most gratitude, recommendation and support. Thanks!!!

They have no respect for your time. They expect for you to sit home and wait on them. Their people at least they will answer the phone and tell you they will call you back as to when you can expect a technician and they don t call back. They let you sit and sit and wait on them and when they do show up, their price is way over the top. Will never call them again!

Fred Collazo communicated well and let us know when he was on his way. On arrival, Fred was cordial and listened attentively as I explained about the second time our pilot light on our water heater had gone out since John Moore installed it in November 2020. Fred understood our concerns on just re-lighting i, as we thought it best to have it inspected in case there was something wrong with the water heater pilot light. Fred inspected the water heater and pilot light and did not identify any obvious anomalies, so he lit the pilot and reported that since this was the second time it went out (Nov-2020 1st, then Jan-2021 2nd) he would note it on our account and discuss it with the home office. They would decide if further action was needed. Fred also said that if it went back out, they would replace the pilot light assembly and make good on the water heater with it being under warranty. He was professional, friendly and to the point. I've used John Moore for several different occasions, have never been disappointed, and representatives like Fred are the reason why.

If I could rate John Moore a 0 star I would. This company cannot be trusted and does not look out for their potential customers. I had an issue with my HVAC system, specifically the fan in my furnace stopped functioning, and I called out John Moore on a Sunday. Their appointment setup process and interface is the only thing that I can compliment. The tech arrived and from the start focused on how much he could sell to me rather than fixing my immediate problem. He went to the attic and investigated the issue and came down and indicated the fan was not functioning (I already knew this) and would not offer any specifics. He immediately indicated that this would be a significant cost and started measuring the opening of my attic access. He then wanted to check my outdoor unit and said it was "old" and should be replaced. I had zero issues with this piece of equipment. The tech then went to his truck to prepare the quote. Upon his return he said the entire fan assembly needed replacement, as well as a few other items, totaling $5k. He then presented other "options" and quoted a full furnace replacement at $6k (which is why he was measuring the attic access!) and an entire system replacement at $17k. My house is 1100 sqft so these quotes are ridiculous. This company tries to prey on customers who are desperate and approach each engagement trying to determine how to sell a new system to each potential customer. The tech offered very little explanation when I asked questions about the reason the quote included a full replacement or how the cost of an entirely new system is so similar in cost. I knew right away when the quote was presented that I needed to get another opinion.

I called out a local tech when they were available the next day and they thoroughly investigated the problem, troubleshot the issue, and determined that there was only a faulty capacitor in the fan. The total cost of the repair was $135. The fix took 5 mins and my system was back up and running without issue. John Moore wanted over $5k to fix my issue. DO NOT TRUST this company! Stick with your local HVAC companies and keep money local!

I was very dissatisfied I did not get any callbacks from the loan office which they told me I was approved and I would need to provide my financial information which was fine I got an immediate estimate that was totally outrageous from the young man and when it was time to follow up when he did he did not have his information correct and I never heard back from him when I told him I was a wrong person and he had the wrong information he brought my quote from 10,000 down to 9000 and I never got a callback so I ve hired a contractor with another company

Mr. Citizen certainly understands customer satisfaction. He called prior to arriving to do the work. He informed me about what would happen during the job. He gave me an estimate of the length of time it would take to complete the work, and he finished sooner than he estimated, even though City of Houston arrived later than expected.
Mr. Citizen explained the work and showed me the new panel, checked all circuits, and told me to call if I had any problems. Great job by a very courteous and professional representative.
