Beware THIEVES!

Beware THIEVES!

Do not go to this hospital for Maternal Fetal Medicine. My wife is a type 1 diabetic and we went to Jefferson for our first child. We were billed a one time copay. This second pregnancy, the same physicians are billing as "specialists" and rather than one co-pay we owe 10. We have since left for Penn medicine where the Maternal Fetal Medicine for type 1 diabetic mother will not charge you a "specialist" copay every visit. I hope this prevents you from making the mistake we made. We are now in collections because of their creative billing.

If I could give this hospital no stars I would , The wait was over 4 hours just for the one Dr to tell me one thing , her boss told be another and then ultimately came to no conclusion for me so I waisted my time and I could have stayed home. But I will be looking into a medical malpractice lawyer.

NO PATIENT ADVOCATE ALLOWED for impatient care!! This is inhumane and cruel. Our family members deserve to have this right- especially non-covid patients. Elderly patients are fragile. Some are confused. And family members are THEIR BEST ADVOCATES during this time. If an OB patient can have 1 visitor, it should apply accorss the board, with the same safety guidelines in place.

My recent stay on the Intermediate Cardiac Unit was efficient and effective, but I also felt that I was taken care of by friendly, compassionate, and competent people at all levels. From the servers from Food Services and the medical techs, to all the RN's on the floor, and to the medical staff (students, residents, fellows and attendings), I felt I was treated as an individual with respect and kindness. I have to give special thanks to the nurses in the cardiac cath lab, who have a special spirit and determination that inspires confidence.

I won t give 1 star because I was very satisfied w...

I won t give 1 star because I was very satisfied with the promptness when I entered the ER. I can absolutely give a thumbs up for that. However, the overall treatment and outcome was not the best. I m not a doctor but I know myself, when I initially arrived, my blood pressure was extremely high for my age, I was struggling to breath and had a racing heart. I made doctors aware of recent symptoms related to potential acid reflux because again (I know my body). These symptoms brought on trouble with breathing and sleeping which is cause for concern. As ER s do, they ruled out a heart attack and lung failure which I appreciate. The doctor allegedly believed I was having a panic attack and didn t have the guts to come and discuss with me but yet sent in a nurse to answer my questions which was a coward move considering I requested his presence and pay for the service. Since I was so weak, I didn t have it in me to debate so I accepted the nurses diagnosis of a panic attack but expressed to the doctor the need for an emergency GI visit. To no avail. By the grace of God I called all around since he would not use his doctor like judgement to help me after telling him how hard it had been for me to breath. I guess thinking I had no clue what I was talking about. I ended up getting in with a PA who immediately prescribed me medications for acid reflux and ordered a barium swallow which I m quite sure the ER could have assisted with. Needless to say I had esophagitis which was brought on by acid reflux. Esophagitis was potentially trapping my airways, resulting in my inability to swallow etc. Some may not know but depending on how long you allow esophagitis to go untreated, you can lose your life. Needless to say, due to the lack of concern these doctors had for my judgement, I could potentially not be here or could potentially be in need of surgery. Most GIs were booked out but by the grace of God I found my way in. If you look healthy, I don t recommend showing up because they may tell you you re having a panic attack and ignore your requests. Maybe if you look like you re on your last breath, they will better assist you. To add insult to injury it s going on 4 weeks now and I still have a rash from their IV. I ve never in life gotten a rash from an IV.

Top of the list for places you need but don't want to be. If you have a medical condition that needs expertise you are at the right place. As a doctor I viewed the patient experience first-hand when I became a patient. I prefer giving than receiving but when I needed care, I found top notched professionals to take care of me at Jeff. Highly recommend without reservation.

This is the most poorly ran business I have ever had to deal with.
I went for a simple wellness visit and they billed my insurance incorrectly. My co pay should have been zero and over the past year they have tried to bill me anywhere from 130 dollars to just under 1500. Go anyplace else no one seems to know what they are doing here.
I even made a payment and they have no record of it even after giving them the confirmation number I was given when I made the payment.

HORRIBLE NIGHTMARE!!

HORRIBLE NIGHTMARE!!
Almost a year later they are still ignoring my attempts to contact them about this.
No one told me what the cost of the check up was going to be. The pre qualification center failed to follow through with my insurance and let me know the cost.
When I went for the check up I asked how much did I owe them with credit card in hand. They said nothing today and handed my credit card back. A few weeks later I got an out of pocket bill for over $3000.00 !!!
I have found out that they have failed in their internal processes but no one will reply to emails or any communications. They are still sending me bills. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. A check up that normally costs me $500 is being billed to me after insurance of over 3k!! I was in the room for probably 20 minutes!!!

Filthy and incompetent staff!

Filthy and incompetent staff!
My Mom had a heart procedure on Thursday at Jefferson and on Friday she developed a fever so the on call doctor instructed her to go directly to the ER. The ER doctor order labs, cat scan on her head and chest x-ray. After waiting over 4 hours they only did the chest x-ray. I inquired why they haven't done the lab or cat scan I was informed that the cat scan wasn't ordered and there to busy to draw blood. One poor girl was in the ER for over 12 hours and still hadn't seen a doctor. I was very concerned about her level of care as she was in bad shape and no one cared, so I left Jefferson at Midnight and I took her to Lankenau Hospital. She was seen right of way and thank God as she almost died in the ER but the staff at Lankenau did a great job at emergency response with the defibrillator. I truly believe she would of died in the waiting room at Jefferson if I didn't leave and take her to Lankenau. Also Jefferson ER bathrooms were deplorable. I've never seen a hospital with such gross bathrooms.

TJUH is a whole lot better that the hospitals here...

TJUH is a whole lot better that the hospitals here in Southern New Jersey. In fact I wish TJUH would buy all of these hospitals down here. All of the staff have been extremely helpful, and have treated me with a great bedside manner during the process of my Bariatric Surgery. They have been great with communicating with me through the Follow My Health site/app, and as well on the phone. I am scheduled to have my surgery on the 26th of January 2016. The only flaws that I have ran into during the beginning process is a certain doctor in the Jefferson Sleep Disorder Center (Dr. Ritu Grewal) she was showing off in front of 3 med students whom were observing. I was trying to be honest with her about a problem I was having, and her actions nearly cost me my driving privileges in New Jersey. She reported her concern about me and I had to be medically examined in order to prove I am capable of operating a motor vehicle. Then to top it off she dictated a certified letter to my employer human resources department, and she cost me my job. She made it appear I was unhealthy to work. I do not qualify for aide of SSI/SSD.

The second encounter I expirinced was today when I went for my scheduled Pre-Admission Testing. For some reason there is miscommunication between staff and use of the computer scheduling program. I wasn't in the system for today and they had me scheduled with a doctor I never met and surgery next week on the 12th of January. I had to provide proof that I was supposed to be there for an appointment and for the date of my surgery by the scheduler. The scheduler never fixed the information in the scheduling program. This appears to be a common flaw at TJUH. Now I am a spouse of a TJUH employee. They know I'm an employee's spouse, but they don't care no favoritism at TJUH.

I will write again after my Bariatric Surgery in a few weeks to let you know how that goes.

Be wary of paying any bills that don t align perfe...

Be wary of paying any bills that don t align perfectly with your insurance. I paid mine with the benefit of the doubt when Jefferson sent their bills for my wife and newborn daughter. It wasn t until months later that I went over my out-of-pocket maximum. After 6 months of disputing and Jefferson not being helpful at all (blaming the insurance). It turned out that Jefferson made two billing errors, overcharging me more than $1,100. They already had my money and didn t give it back until after all the disputes, emails, phone calls, follow-ups for 6 months, they returned my $1,100+.

My insurance, Aetna, knew something was wrong. But no one in Jefferson s billing nor refund department did.

The structure is a mess since their Billing department claimed to have no power, their Refund department was extremely rude (Harry) and just wanted me gone, and their Accounting department, who sorted out what went wrong, needed to climb up four levels to give me my refund. Jefferson might be getting too big and they re acquiring more hospital networks. I m sure plenty of people have paid things they didn t need to or gave up trying to get their money back.

Additionally, things take a long time in Jefferson my experience is in the maternity ward and ER. Set aside 6-8 hours for a visit due to getting any medication takes 40-90 minutes, per medication. Then there s a new doctor or nurse every time the door opens, so you go over the same info time and time again.

Some visits are quick and painless with all the insurance claims lining up properly. But when there s a mess, it s a complete waste of time and energy where they ll fight for a dime even if they re wrong.

I had a severe traumatic brain injury, not just a simple concussion. I was airlifted to Jefferson and hospitalized for weeks afterwards, but they never gave up on me. Even the police and medics on the scene thought I was not going to make it. When EMT's panic, you know it's not good. But here I am walking and talking. Especially for TBI's, I can't recommend Jefferson enough. I'm not 100 percent back and probably never will be, but I've come a long way from being roadkill.

I had to get routine blood work done with a physical exam. All I needed was specific bloodwork for work ( just 2 tests) but the nurse asked me if I wanted other routine bloodwork. I agreed to do so and everything went well. However they billled me for everything because it "was not routine" and clumped all the bloodwork under the wrong code. I tried for weeks to talk to billing and had zero luck getting to anyone. I'm hesitant to go back for any other work and will probably go somewhere closer to home like Abington hospital.

My baby was born in crozer chester hospital and was immediately referred to jefferson hospital without any real reason. Jefferson hospital ppl said they will test my baby and if tests are positive then they will have my baby go through cooling process. All tests came negative but they nevertheless went ahead and put my baby under cooling (Which wasn't right). While in cooling ,all of health parameters were right so they couldn't come up with any reason to keep my baby in hospital but still they created fuzzy reason e.g. weak sucking, not much crying and these kind of issues can be easily addressed by a pediatrician.
They are less concern about anybodies health, but what they are concerned about is ,is how to keep you in hospital as long as possible.
I did not like their doctors gloomy and pessimistic view. They just want you to feel so sad/gloomy and depressed all the time so that you stay in hospital for whole your life :(.
This isnt a correct medical practice and govt or insurance companies should dig into this hospital's medical practises.
I pray to god that no body ever goes/referred to Jefferson hospital.

I had a neurology appointment scheduled and the doctor never arrived. After 90 minutes of waiting, the staff had no back up plan for me. No other doctor to see me. So, they sent me home with the promise of a callback. Four days later and no one has called. I am still waiting. In the two visits I have scheduled with Jefferson, this has happened to me both times. I don't see customer care as central to the Jefferson patient care philosophy, so it's on to Penn for me.

So When me and my Family were waiting Outside for a Family member to be Done Visiting Someone. We were Sweating like Heck and we were Tired of Standing outside for 1-2 Hours waiting for each Family Member to be done Visiting someone. So we were thinking that Jefferson Hospital should have Benches and Chairs but each Chair 6 Feet Away from Each other and the Benches the Same thing as the Chairs but the Benches are for Family. So let s say that we re tired of standing then we/the Family can sit in a Chair or some of us in one Bench and if there s more Family members then they can Be sitting on the Other Benches that are there. That way we will be Protected, following the Rules(6 Feet apart)and sitting Safely. Thank you I hope you can add what I think you should add to the Hospital Outside.

I have been a fan of Jefferson Hospital for many years. Over a decade ago their fine cardiac and diabetes departments helped my dad for years maintain his health far beyond what most would have done. However over the last year I have been there visiting a critically ill patient and then my niece who had just had her first baby and boy did I see a change. Praise first - the nursing staff is WONDERFUL!!!! They do an excellent job under not so great conditions. They are understaffed and overworked and yet manage to give excellent care to their patients. My niece went thru 36 hours of labor and had to wait until a nurse intervened before she was given a meal. The kitchen staff never contacted her about her dietary concerns etc and were unapologetic that she couldn't eat what they brought her. The cafeteria closes at 6PM on weekdays and then 2 on weekends. This is crazy and a bad business practice. And the quality of the food is horrible. In this day and age you can and should be doing better. Get more nurses and work on your kitchen/cafeteria. No reason for this lack in either area. My 3 star rating would have been lower if it weren't for the nursing staff.

I have been admitted Almost 2-3 times a year for the past few years because I have severe asthma and any small chest cold turns into pneumonia. I first came here because I was pregnant and with my asthma I was admitted Almost every month and the antepartum unit was amazing. The nurses I became close with and made me feel welcome and every one from aides to doctors helped me through a difficult time and pregnancy. I spent a month here when I had my baby because my heart went out of wack.

I had my first daughter at Lankenau and i spent 5 days in labor and the 1st year resident and nurse were all I was given. Long story short, if i had listened to the resident my daughter wouldnt have made it. When she was born blue and not breathing only then did the actual doctor on call show up and called a code blue. She was in the NICU for a week. Imagine if I listened to the resident when she told me to stop pushing and give it a few min.

Jeff has always been on top of things and although they usually have students with them (I got asked by a million students to listen to my lungs bc I had "rails") I always feel they are providing the best care available. Thank God for having such a great hospital.

PS- yes, ER waits suck and I had to wait almost a day for a bed but for the care and compassion it's worth the wait.

A teaching hospital that can save lives.... TJ hospital has a state of the art facility that is great for treating serious health conditions. The affects that Thomas Jefferson hospital has had for the Philadelphia community is remarkable. I thank this hospital for having some of the best trained doctors in the country and saving my grandmothers life from a serious spinal cord injury. If your doctor is affiliated with Thomas Jefferson university you have chosen the right place.

Worst experience ever. We were here to visit family not the patient for sympathy. Security guard name Julian blanco told us visiting hours are over And if you visiting family tell the family to come down. How can you ask a family members to come down stairs. This is so not acceptable because we have big family and people came from all over the united States.
but the care for patient is great.

The worse hospital ever. they basically kicked my father out because he was a hard patient. If I could give this place zero stars I would. They have no communication skills and lack empathy. Their rooms are dirty, no one cleans them unless the people visiting the patient say something. Doctors are rude, nurses are rude, and management is rude. I encountered more racism at this hospital than I have anywhere from the whole entire staff. I have spent more time arguing with people then my father receiving quality care. I would not recommend this place to my worse enemy.

I visited Jefferson Urgent Care located at 700 Walnut St. I had the pleasure of being the patient of Dr. Gabrielle Morrow. Dr. Morrow was very professional, easy going, and made you feel as if she was your physician for years. I received immediate service and was done in about 15 minutes. If you need urgent care, call and see if Dr. Morrow is on duty and pay her a visit. In case Dr. Morrow reads this she will remember my visit - Physician vs doctor conversation ***The system wouldn't allow me to rate Dr. Morrow of Jefferson Urgent Care located at 700 Walnut St. under that facility. So I'm rating her here.***

I just recently had my rhinoplasty done at Jefferson Hospital and I had such a wonderful experience. I had my surgery done with Dr. Krein (He's THE BEST). All of my nurses and doctors were so kind and I was so comfortable the entire time. I cannot say enough good things about how I was treated. I wish I knew the names of the wonderful nurses who comforted me after my surgery, one in particular comes to mind (I think he worked in the PACU) but he went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and told me patients should always be treated like they are family. My anesthesiologists were also amazing and kept me informed and helped me to feel relaxed as I went into surgery. Nurses, Doctors and all other hospital staff are truly angels. I am so truly thankful I was even able to have an elective surgery during this time and I would not hesitate even a moment to have another other surgery done at Jefferson.

My husband plans to visit our son at Jefferson tomorrow. He is not familiar with the routes and transportation modes. We live in WV. I tried to call Septa for train information but there was no answer. However, "Nate" answered at the Jefferson number and went the extra mile to provide routes, times, names of stations and I am writing now to declare he has earned an "Atta-boy!" at the very least.
Thank you for your kind and courteous handling of my inquiry. It's those little details that can create enormous anxiety when a loved one is in hospital, so this treatment came at a very difficult time and relieved a good deal of stress.

Thank you, Nate!

The quality of care at Jefferson has significantly...

The quality of care at Jefferson has significantly decreased when Jefferson expanded and bought up everything not on fire. I have been a patient of the Gastrointestinal Department since 1997. I had Dr Franz Goldstein at first and then switched to Dr Infantolino when Goldstein retired. They both were great, including Ilene Fardella (their Medical Assistant). Dr Infantolino decided to teach full time so I transitioned to Dr Raina Shivashankar. She s great also. But her Medical Assistant Marie Morano is trash. She shouldn t be in health care AT ALL. Ms Morano has been a barrier to my Remicade treatment. I m 5 weeks overdue. In phone conversations with her she talked down to me and flat out lied to me like Im a village idiot, saying things like you should check your insurance to see whats covered like other patients. There is nothing I can do. It s not my job to see what your insurance covers. Everyone who has Aetna cant get Remicade in a hospital . I ve had Crohns Disease since 1995 and I know what s covered, and where, and when Aetna told me that all the Medical Assistant had to do was submit a claim for blood work with the correct CPT code, she said Aetna is wrong . Now I m stuck with a $500 bill because of incompetence, lack of empathy, and laziness. Wouldn t that be something to address if EVERY Aetna patient all of a sudden gets bills for bloodwork and cannt get their medication treatment at a hospital? Before Jefferson swallows up another hospital they need to hire quality and competent staff. Now I may get sick amd start ALL OVER AGAIN because of ONE lazy staff member. Absurd!

I wish I could give no stars! This was the worst experience I ever had in my life at any hospital! I was in their emergency room for a motor vehicle accident and I couldn't believe how rude and unprofessional their nurses are! No compassion and completely neglected me and let me go for hours without pain medication and no medical attention from a doctor. I suffered there and was ignored while I couldn't do anything for myself. So I just laid there and cried on a bed in the hallway for hours. Then when my mom got there and questioned them about why nobody has tended to me, they put her out and had their security gaurds and very aggressive and intimidating male nurses get in our faces like we were criminals. I have never been treated so poorly this was really a nightmare I just wanted to go home but I couldn't walk so I just had to accept what was happening to me. Never ever go to Jefferson Hospital for anything!

I have been a patient at TJUH for well over 10 yrs...

I have been a patient at TJUH for well over 10 yrs., a satisfied patient. Doctors there are top notch and I love all of my docs dearly.

This low rating is not about the docs AT ALL, but about the fact that all afternoon today, I ve been calling Jefferson Family Medicine and NO ONE IS PICKING UP THE PHONE. Per their own instructions regarding a referral that I needed TODAY, I couldn t get through. I was kept on hold for 46 mins. (for so long that the outgoing messages played until there was nothing but static at the end), 26 mins, 15 mins. I called the President s office three times and was transferred from the President s office to scheduling and back to the main number where I ve been on hold for 34 minutes and counting.

No one from the Patient s Advocate Office is answering the phone either. Calling Jeff s main number means being transferred to a voicemail there.

Don t get me wrong, I m not usually a complainer, especially since I took complaints for a major city agency for 11 yrs., so when I complain, it s not a trifle thing.

It makes NO sense to me WHATSOEVER that NOBODY answers the phone at a major metropolitan hospital like Jefferson even so that the patient can comply with their policy.

It s 36 mins now and I am STILL ON HOLD. This is so very unprofessional. This is disrespectful. This speaks volumes about management specifically in Jefferson Family Medicine s office as well as the hospital s management generally. Where s the Quality Assurance component re patient engagement? You can t even send an email to them nor can you email the big whigs directly when you visit the site.

The next time I receive a request to be a donor, I will pass.

Thirty-eight mins on hold and counting. Why? Because they just don t care.

At 41 mins into waiting, someone actually picked up the phone and helped me. I literally (unexpectedly) broke down and cried during the call because I was so frustrated, so angry because it s not supposed to be this way. Yet my rating will remain the same because it s absolutely UNACCEPTABLE that I (and my specialist) had to wait all afternoon for someone to help me, a 1 minute resolution was what it took all along.

These are difficult times, especially in quarantine, working from home. Tempers are short. Frustration is long. People are on the edge. Something as simple as not answering the phone or being unreasonably and inexplicably on hold is a fuse lighter and a turn-off ...

After showing up there with a blood pressure of 186/110 the ER said I shouldn t do anything because it s ok to walk around like that. Is this what medical care has come to? When is it an emergency, when it s over 300? My normal is actually very low. Around 105/60. No test at all but a CBC. Crazy!!! They are playing God with people asking for help. Malignant hypertension is called that for a reason

The way they treat the patients a the ER is like a Cattlecall to get them all in so they can get billed even though there s zero treatment or recommendations. Exact cookie cutter treatment for everyone I m sure it s so they get paid the most. It would only be helpful if everybody was suffering from the same thing.

On December 28th my best friend lost her first baby due to this hospital. They told her that she lost fluid in OCTOBER but waited until her due date (December 28th) to her this!!! Her baby died due to the lack of care and supervision of the nurses and doctors throughout her pregnancy. When my best friend asked about why wasn't this been seen on the ultrasound months ago no one could tell her anything. I watched my best friend deliver a dead baby because of these people & I don t appreciate that. Jefferson is definitely the worse hospital I ve been to.

If I could give this hospital no stars I would. DO YOUR HOMEWORK. Spine issues, 4 surgeries over the course of 9 months, cock roaches in food, filthy rooms, and to top it off a very polite letter from the hospital explaining that I received a staph infection from their OR. It was several VAC pumps 24/7 and antibiotics for months and months. Even at home with the kind help of Bayada nurses. Finally Einstein found the solution and healed it as Best they could. Am now disabled and in my 50 s. Dr. J. should perhaps do his homework. Beware. This is nothing to take lightly my entire life has changed.

Worst Customer service, spoke with Donna, Jamie, and Crystal none of them helped and keep transferring me to the wrong departments.
They were not courteous at all and in a hurry to disconnect or transfer the call. If you don't like your jobs quit you are not at service for anyone!

No stars. Not even a twinkle.

No stars. Not even a twinkle.

She could not walk.

She was in severe pain.

Her doctor sent her to Jefferson.

They ordered a lot of expensive tests that could have been avoided by careful history and physical examination.

But even so, they could not offer her a diagnosis or a prognosis for her pain.

They did not offer her anything to treat her pain.

They told her that they were "legally" unable to perform a diagnostic knee tap or therapeutic knee injection.

They referred her to a Jefferson specialist with whom they did not even try to expedite an appointment for her.

They told her she would need to transfer her records if she went out of their system.

She felt that they were not competent.

She felt that they were not caring.

She felt that they are only designed to make money for their health system.

I went there for neck surgery on Tuesday May 26, I had to go to same day surgery as soon as I got there my husband and I noticed how nice the staff was from the people checking me in while I waited sorry I remember their names, then when I was waiting to go in to the area before surgery the staff in there were nice to me as well, As I was being brought to the PACU area the gentleman who brought me was awesome sorry I don t remember ur name, but God Bless you, then when I was in the PACU the nurses in there were really nice and Megan Kelly is who took care of me in there she was very nice and never disrespected me at all. Megan Kelly keep up the good work and God has many good plans for u. Then when I went in the OR sorry to all who helped with the surgery and that were in the room I don t remember everyone s name, but Julia so sorry my veins didn t wanna work for you thank goodness that the gentleman helped u and was able( sorry I don t remember ur name). Dr. Curry and Dr. Evans are awesome as well I am so glad that I crossed paths and they r my doctors because if it wasn t for Dr. Morrow for sending me to Curry I would still be living with this thing in my neck, but not anymore thank you all so much. After I went to the recovery area I met the RN Shikha sorry I couldn t spell your last name so I just put your first name, anyhow you were awesome as well thank you for all you did that day. If I had to tell people where to go I would choose Jefferson. Y all keep up the great work, God choose this career path for y all bc he knew y all have compassion and wonderful heart. Sincerely Paula Billings God Bless y all

Very careful Docs. My HEART TRANSPLANT went very excellent well. The other patients I aquainted here also did well. Discharged to home 15 days post surgery. 7.5 months & doing well. Older chairs in rooms have been replaced. I was there 3 months waiting for a heart and my experience was excellent. The usual frustrations which occur in all hospitals. Great rotation of transplant and VAD (pump) Docs

I loved the nurses and the doctors, there are none...

I loved the nurses and the doctors, there are none better. My nurses, Tammy, Tanya, and Bobby were the best, very concerned for my well being and took great care of me for my entire stay. The doctors are friendly and they explain everything well. I had pretty major problems however. First, because there were no rooms for surgery patients, many of us spent the entire day in recovery waiting for rooms. In recovery there weren't enough people to help, there wasn't enough attention, there was basically no food unless you begged for more than crackers, and it took over an hour after I was awake to get something to drink or even ice chips. For spine surgery you're supposed to be up and moving, but in recovery you have to stay in bed. It was extremely painful lying in one position for what amounted to 8 hours. I arrived at 4:45 am for surgery at 6:45. I was in recovery around 10 am but didn't have a room until dinner time (actually missed dinner too). A kind recovery nurse went to the trouble to find me food but it was a dry sandwich and after having a breathing tube that wasn't going to work. My poor husband sat in the patient waiting room for over 10 hours and still didn't get to see me, so they "allowed him" to visit recovery for 10 minutes before he was told he had to leave. Also there's no provision for patients to use a rest room in recovery so I had to use a bed pan when I was supposed to be up walking around. Worst day of my life for sure, and only got better when I finally had a room and some nurses who had time for me (sometime around 6 that night). This is in no way reflecting on ANY of the hospital staff who did their best, this is a problem with the way the hospital is run. Recovery nurses are there to help you wake up and start functioning (make sure you're safe) - not to care for you all day because they do not have the resources. I couldn't have my phone or anything even 8 hours after waking up because it wasn't allowed. This terrified my mother who lives out of state and was expecting to be able to speak to me. Communication with my husband wasn't the greatest either, it was hours before anyone told him what was taking so long. If I was only reviewing the hospital this score would be 0-1, I gave it 2 because my nurses deserve the highest scores possible (5's). If you're going to leave people in recovery all day, TELL the family and make provisions so the patients can be comfortable while waiting for that long. People who have fasted and had a breathing tube and need food can't eat anything hard or dry, period. Again, not the nurses fault, they were all great but had too many patients down there way past the time they should have been caring for them. I was originally pleased to be going to such a fine hospital and I will never go back. Local suburban hospitals without the Jefferson name do a much better job of taking care of their patients after surgery. I wish I could rate the nurses separately from the facility because they were all fantastic. This goes along with a pretty negative post I did about pre-admission testing too. Overall I had a horrible experience and only your wonderful nurses and doctors made it bearable. I'm a person who almost never posts reviews unless something goes very well or very wrong - and even then I am forgiving of mistakes. This was no mistake, orderlies told me it happens a lot. UNFORGIVABLE treatment when a patient is going through something scary enough as it is. The only saving grace is that your employees are professional and they really care about their patients. Please give kudos to my care team.

This place is a discrace. My brother is in here on the 3rd floor and what bad staff they have working. He has a very bad infection and also has Lukemia bad. They are veryyyyy rude and ignorant to him. He keeps having high fever I called over an hour ago for blankets and ended up getting them myself. It's very dirty in here and I will be contacting my lawyer about this. They are not looking into his health issue as they should be.

My Goddess! They lost the blood they took from my dad. It took them over 3hrs to get him a room. They had to re-do every test pretty much. The nurses are on their phones, and talking to each other.... the only way I was able to get their attention was by going to the nurse station. Even after that, they had an attitude with me. He only came to Jefferson because it was the closest hospital from his job and he was in so much pain. I can t believe this type of treatment is tolerated. If you care for your loved ones... take them somewhere else.
