If I could give no stars I would. Do not go or take anyone you love there. My sister was there for stomach issues sat from Friday until Tuesday 4th of July weekend no one wanted to take the lead and help her. She even called patient services while she sat there in agonizing pain. Finally operated and no one seemed to know what they were doing things went very bad and now shes no longer here. Most of the staff was also very insensitive to her death. She left behind 5 month twins. Go elsewhere.

This is the worst experience I've had with the healthcare system - ever. I showed up at the ER around midnight with acute pain from a kidney stone. It took hours for me to be seen; the ER was filled with junkies, and I sat in agony. Nurses took pity on me, and I was seen by 2:30am. It took until past 6 am to have imaging tests. I was discharged around 9 am, and they were very hesitant to give me *anything* for pain (despite never having a substance abuse issue and being there for a very legitimate reason). I ended up at Saint Mary's in the suburbs within 12 hours after the pain increased. Saint Mary's admitted me within 20 minutes, I was put in IV painkillers for several days, and then I had surgery. Jefferson was a horrible experience and waste of time. I take pity on the staff for having had a terrible night with all sorts of craziness in the ER, but for my purposes, it was a nightmare. Never go to this ER.

And she escorted me out wout a word or explanation i"m not even sure wat happened & why bc i wasn't rude or cursing or loud i wasn't even upset i spoke to her in kind quet matter i had to go in another hospital in pain and wait another seven hours it's a shame that lady probably still works there i hope when u go in there u don't have to go through wat i went through she was also very short w me & didn't asnwer my question so much for helping the sick u know sometimes i wish that those people when they get sick get same treatment like i did get from them. Although my doctors are at Jefferson hoapital and treat me well I have S.C. disease and my doctor wants me to come to the ER when I have a crisis and I do. I know that my treatment will last four to six hours ( with iv pain meds) after beeing taken to the treatment area. Here is the complaint when I am discharged I either have to wait for someone to come and get me or take public transportation home. And in the early hours that may take some time. I have been treatened with arrest if I don' t leave as soon as I'm discharged. Statements from security " this isn' t a shelter", " If you don' t leave I'll have you arrested" etc. Once a guard said I was lying about someone comming to get me and said, call the person so he could verify I was telling the truth, how far away & how long it will take for them to get to Jefferson hospital. This has happened half a dozen times. I have reported it and documented it.

I ve never in my life heard of or been through an experience like the one at this horrible place. My husband took his elderly uncle here who had a heart attack a few weeks ago because he was having trouble breathing. They got there at 830pm and were left in the waiting room until after 4am!!! The waiting room literally had blood stains on the floor! I wish I could give zero stars...i will try and load the pictures of the blood stains...I want to file a complaint against this place but I m not sure how to do so.

The slowest, slowest, slowest place to receive ser...

The slowest, slowest, slowest place to receive services. If you don't mind spending an entire half a day or full day, then by all means visit any department of Jefferson. Especially there emergency/trauma unit. While waiting over 3 hours before triage for family members, I witnessed nurses watching videos on YouTube, just sitting or standing around chit-chatting. While I'm sure charges for every patient was skyrocketed over 300%. The quality, efficiency, and thoroughness of care/services at Jefferson is beyond poor and horrible. It's just a place for people to be charged and not receive proper care. One rep stated were slow tonight because were short staff, and to be honest this place is always slow, I've never seen it operate fast. Then the same rep stated they were waiting for beds, which I'm sure is an surplus charge, as if people will be staying the night (practically you will be for the amount of hours it will take for you to actually see a doctor). I would recommend urgent care centers especially Temple on Allegheny, because you're in and out in less than 3 hrs, but I wish that they were 24hrs. Smh. Avoid coming to Jefferson even if the EMT tries to bring you here.

The staff and the Dr's are the best I have ever seen. The careful listen to you and try to accommodate your needs as best as possible. For an intercity hospital it is very clean. No matter what questions you have someone is always willing to help.

By far THE BEST medical care I have ever had. Bedside manner is incredible. No patient concern is too silly to be taken seriously. Nursing staff was wonderful, my Drs were wonderful and my surgeon was unbelievable! his O.R. team was great as well. I don't think i'll ever go anywhere else again. lol I can't say enough good things about these people. Any surgery involving the head/brain is scary. To say they were "comforting" doesnt begin to explain how compassionate they were.

I have spent much of my 54 yrs of life in hospitals due to an auto immunity disease. This jefferson center city hospital was the BEST hospital I've ever been! From how much each doctor team works together with the other doctors and myself! I was treated important as if I was part of their teams,! Which I am! The nurses, aids, student nurses, and every person who I came in contact with treated me with kindness, exceptional knowledge for their jobs and as if I was special,! My room was wonderful with a panoramic view of the city! I will never go to any other hospital again!

Staff was very insensitive when I lost a loved one... Doctors were talking in medical terms instead of dumbing down things for people who were in shock and very emotional. Would give a negative star if I could.

Went to ER for work injury. Sat in an ER room they put me in from 11:45am till 2pm with a bloody rag held to my face from my wound. Not one Dr, NP, or RN tried to stop the bleeding. Had blood all over my hands, my neck, and the dirty work rag I came in with. Upon discharge at 5pm no one came in to explain how to care for stitched wound. No one came to explain the results of the CT scan. All I was given is printed instructions. Never again if I have a say.

Just spent an hour and a half to take a train here for preadmission. Got there a half hour early and waited 2 hours and 40 minutes to meet with someone for about 25 minutes. A doctors appointment followed and waited about another hour to see doc. Not sure if I want to come back here again. Inefficient for sure!!!

I had a spinal fusion in April 2018 spending 4 days in the hospital. It was truly the worst experience of my life. The staff was so rude and pretty much uneducated. It's sad that this hospital can get away with what they do and represent medicine today. Not only would I not recommend Jefferson hospital but I would tell people its pretty much not a safe environment.

DANGER: PLEASE READ!!!! Deciding to make Jefferson...

DANGER: PLEASE READ!!!! Deciding to make Jefferson my hospital is the biggest mistake that I have ever made in my life. These uncaring thugs did not tell me about the newer, less painful therapies that I could have received at better hospitals. I unnecessarily suffered permanent damage to my body just so these lowlifes could bilk my insurance company out of $2 million. I would not recommend this horrible, third-world prison to my worst enemy. Despite being paid over $2 million by my insurance company in less than two years, these greedy thugs would not even pay for and arrange my transportation, despite my very fragile condition. All competing hospitals DO take care of transportation for those with my illness. The nasty, arrogant security guard at the desk would not even call a cab for me, so I had to make several trips back up to the sixth floor just to get one, which by the way cost almost $200 roundtrip. Some of Jefferson's staff is downright hostile to their patients. Expect to wait two to five hours beyond appointment times just to START one. Unlike normal hospitals, Jefferson will NOT call you in advance to verify your appointment. On at least a few occasions, I traveled all the way over there just to be told that they had no record of an appointment, despite showing them the appointment card that THEY had written. You will be required to verify the appointment in advance by spending an hour or more on the phone, maneuvering through their dreadful phone maze and waiting on hold. Jefferson's food is horrible on steroids; it is not even a joke. I would not feed it to a dead rat. The treatments are antiquated; I suffered discomfort and extra risk because these out-of-touch bums did not tell me about the new, painless therapies that I could have received at several better hospitals. And watch out, these crooks will try to defraud you in every way possible. I have had to dispute several "errors", which are ALWAYS for thousands of dollars in THEIR favor! I have never experienced such problems at most other facilities. Do not be fooled by the five star reviews. Based on my experiences, they could not possibly have been posted by real patients.

JEFFERSON HEALTH HOME CARE AND HOSPICE. I chose Je...

JEFFERSON HEALTH HOME CARE AND HOSPICE. I chose Jefferson home hospice, in part, because of a friend's experience with the home healthcare division. But these are 2 very different operations. JEFFERSON HOME HOSPICE IS AN ABSOLUTE FARCE! I believe it's the scrap heap Jefferson throws you to when they decide you no longer benefit their research.

I can't imagine that the people attending to patients have had more than 4 weeks training in how to take vital signs and 2 weeks at a motivational seminar to convince them that they are gods.

Despite the hard sell from the frontman (i.e. the social worker), these so-called nurses are clueless about the psychological needs of people in hospice--and they should have a clue--AND certain basic medical (antiseptic) practices. (I watched a nurse come in from outside blowing her nose, and after removing her coat and chatting a short while, attempt to touch my grandmother's lesioned skin with her bare, unwashed, and unsanitized hands! Disgusting!)

And in terms of the former, that doesn't mean people are in denial about the possibility of dying from complications related to their disease. (My grandmother isn't.) But not everybody has given up on themselves in the same way the doctors have. Some embrace each moment they are alive, even though Jefferson seems to be standing over them waiting impatiently to hammer the nails in their coffin. Whatever the case, there is a psychological component that needs to be considered, and these un-professionals clearly don't have a clue about that. Or maybe they don't care. Maybe they've been taught that they don't need to. (Some people only care that their paycheck has been direct deposited on time. And some organizations care most about keeping their costs as low as possible.) It's just... raggedy!

I stepped away during one visit, but heard as my grandmother was relentlessly over-talked while trying to share details about a specific discomfort. Before she could get half-way through a sentence, the nurse was loudly and rudely saying, "I know. I know." even though she had no idea what my grandmother was trying to say. If I wasn't concerned about stressing my grandmother, I would have thrown her out at that moment. Instead, I intervened.

In addition, based on some odd and irrelevant questions from visiting nurses, I won't discount the possibility of some outright unscrupulousness in some nurses' character.

If I weren't present, I can only imagine the vile manipulation my grandmother would endure.

It's sinful.
