The staff is well educated and good at doing what they need to do. However they care "0" about customer service. Some of the facility is run down outdated. I especially hated the postpartum unit. After having my baby I was forced to move furniture in order to get to the rest room which I discovered was shared by three other women who also just gave birth. Imaging that. There is more grievance but I can't even...
ER is pretty good considering it's a public hospital. Not much rushy but yes a little wait because again it serves public at large.
DO NOT COME TO THIS EMERGENCY ROOM!! DO NOT COME TO THIS ADULT EMERGENCY ROOM! This emergency is the WORST! The patient in front of us was BLEEDING ON HIS HEAD but they just made him WAIT. They didn't even try to clean the wound or anything. The patient could get infection. THEY JUST GAVE HIM TISSUES FOR THE BLEEDING AND MADE HIM WAIT. That patient is an old man which makes it more risky/dangerous.
Also, my sister who is the patient was in so much that she can't even talk but they just told us to wait. We waited for about 9 hours. My sister was crying because of the pain. They keep ignoring me when I'm asking questions for my sister. Her lips was getting white and they just check her blood pressure and put her back in the waiting room and made her WAIT.
And most of the time, there is NO ONE in the front desk.
Staff bickering with each other, dirty rooms, poor lines of communication. Days after release find out about foot fracture after complaining of pain.
Worst emergency I have ever been, you gotta wait 6 to 7 hours to see a doctor, in testing they take another 4/5 hours.

DO NOT COME HERE FOR PRE-NATAL AND POST NATAL CARE. I was pregnant for 310 days and to that result my baby passed away at what was thought to be 37 weeks and 5 days. Come to check my pregnancy tracker said 310 days. Women are only supposed to be pregnant for 280 days, I was over pregnant for a month. This place is the absolute worst. I never was taken care of by a regular doctor. I saw a doctor all of 4 times during my pregnancy. The last time I saw a doctor was to tell me there was no heartbeat. The doctor I had on that day was Dr. Stern, while he was remorseful he still managed to have a attitude. When I was admitted into labor and delivery I was bombarded with all the questions about a autopsy, burial, cremation and etc. I opted for a autopsy as I had a feeling they wouldn t be able to find a cause. The autopsy couldn t be done because of COVID-19, that seemed to be the excuse for everything. Mind you, our state was days away from re-opening. In labor and delivery the nurses and mid-wives were sweet and attentive while I was still with child and during labor. The only one s that were awful was Dr. Dill and the nurse assigned after labor. Dr. Dill was sooooooo rude and didn t even acknowledge me or my pain. I hated her but there was nothing to be done. I had my baby more than 24 hrs after being admitted, yet I was able to WALK myself out of the hospital less than 10 hrs after a very hard and painful labor (as this was my first child). After I had my baby girl I wasn t even offered to get a picture with her and the nurse felt I was a bother for asking for her height at birth. When it came time for my first pee after the epidural and labor, I got my damn self up and walked my damn self to the bathroom as I was also put in a room with NO call button and I wonder why... . When it came down to my daughters paperwork her name was misspelled on every piece of paper. The social worker kept calling my baby a fetus which felt really insensitive as she was far past being a fetus, which is ironic because she was supposed to console us. When it came down to baptizing my daughter the reverend was so dry and unemotional it was just horrible. He stood there for all of two minutes murmured some words and left. Overall this experience has brought on a new hate for this place. I ve never dealt with such unprofessionalism and unethical treatment. If I could give this hospital 0 stars I would.

They so slow, so rudee, my husband just had a motorcycle accident and everything got worse and worse because they too slow on diagnostics also some of the nurses hace a nasty attitude. Had a bad time with one of them.
Extremely unprofessional. I gave birth to my son on October last year I arrived at 11 am and was forced to endure pain until 4 am the next day to have an emergency c section. My son had to be brought back to life due to lack of oxygen and kept on intensive care for 6 days. A few days ago I was having pain on my stomach area of my c section and went to emergency because the pain was too much and I feared I had an infection. They drew blood and did urine tests. I was given a bottle of sterile water to take a cats scan. I was there waiting from 10 pm to 5 am when I asked the nurse what was going on she told me that they had lost my blood samples and that she might have to take another. I told her that I needed to speak to the doctor before they drew blood. The doctor told her that they found my blood and that he would speak to me in a while. The doctor never showed up and the nurse came back to me a while later to let me know that she had no idea what the doctor was talking about and that they had in fact lost my blood. I spent all night there and got nothing so I left. Will check myself in hospital.

Checking myself out now, this was quite unbelievable. This hospital doesn't care about you at all.... Go somewhere else!!

The emergency room is a disaster.
They have incredibly long wait times. The day in question I had been waiting for 6+ hours. They always state someone is ahead of you and call in customers who had arrived long after you did. They do not honor the first come first serve system.
I was there trying to have my stomach/digestive system diagnosed after not being able to stomach solid foods for four days with stabbing pains.
I was essentially an empty waiting room the day.

This place is very unprofessional. Either they understaffed or they have some of the slowest and laziest workers. The front desk of urgent care are nasty and rude. They lie about wait times and I literally watched someone with stomach pain get seen and leave before someone that was hit by a car that's been waiting for 5 hours! Very sad.
Worst hospital. Horrible staff. They do not respect your rights as parents and get rude and nasty when you decline to do what they are trained to instruct you to do. They treat you like you can t have any knowledge of anything and I couldn t wait to leave. Some of the nurses are extremely nice, while others are the opposites. One nurse had attitude galore for being asked to get stuff I was not able to. Everything is done so sketchy and secretly that I don t trust anything they do. I would not recommend giving birth here if you are a parent who wants to monitor what s going in . They restrict you from everything and don t ask or inform you on anything they should . I hate this hospital with a passion it should be sued for the number of violations they implement thru know it all inconsiderate staff!!

This is the worse hospital to give birth. My wife had our second child there. She was rushed to Jacobi because it was the closest when she was in labor. I would never recommend to anyone. Customer service is deplorable. Never anyone available to help. Birth registration department always closed. No one answers the phones and the list goes on and on. I m literally writing this review while on the other phone waiting to get in contact with someone from the admitting department. No answer........
This place is filled with inconsiderate rude people. The adult emergency room is absolutely filthy. I don't think they cleaned the chairs since they opened this place. Sitting here already for three hours and still not seen and by the looks of it it will be another 6 or so hours. I came here with my bf who was the one in pain. Will most likely need surgeory on his ankle. I asked if they had something like a chair where he could elevate his foot. They didn't care he was in pain. When ur in the waiting room u are left for dead, they could absolutely care less who is in pain or injured. And full well knowing everyone waiting in the ER will not be Sen for at least 5 hours (that's being generous) do not come here if you want to keep your sanity and be treated with respect. I can't believe this place is up and running. Absolutely disgusted!
I've been going to Jacobi ever since I was 8 and the staff are extremely well mannered, I went here for my neurology appointments & didn't have to wait 1 hour to get called, but now I will be going back to the Jacobi women's health care center for prenatal & maternity services.. Been going here for a long time, this hospital is by far way Better than lincoln hospital, and will be going to their dermatology clinic
When it comes to answering phone calls to any Dept they are horrible
I had my daughter here in 2014 & will be having my next bundle of joy here September 2018. The majority of the staff are very compassionate .
On April 16, 2018 my girlfriend mom was hit by a car and she was taken to this hospital. My girlfriend and I arrived at the hospital at 130pm and her mom and husband been there since 9am. Mind you she was not seen by a doctor until 230pm. She was laying in pain so we went to ask for some heating pads or pain medicine. They handed us some heating pads and walked away. One hour later someone walked in and gave her pain meds and basically pushed something up her IV that was painful. Didn't speak to her nothing, not explaining what was being done. If asked it was like pulling teeth. Around 4pm they said she had no broken bones and would be in some pain for a couple days. She is being discharged, she said she was drowsy from the medicine given and they basically said she had to get out the bed and she is being discharged. They handed her the paper work and the last name was incorrect. My girlfriend mom and husband do not speak English and the person that took her info spoke only english. We told the nurse and doctors that she needs her documents in the correct name. They stated that they told her earlier, we asked did you ask in English or Spanish they said english. We said she didn't understand what was stated, and if they had a translator, they said yes but one was not needed. Smh ..supposely she was suppose to understand that her marriage certificate and divorce papers was needed to be given to the medical dept in order for her paperwork to reflect her current last name. So we attempted to gather that information but one problem occurred the medical records close at 4pm. So even her prescriptions was in the wrong last name. We told them something needed to be done so she can atleast get her scripts filled. We had to request for a supervisor and the supervisor basically see what went wrong but won't own up to it. And she went to get this stupid woman to state my gf. Mom understood what she told her. Common get some got damn brains. Clearly she don't speak English, this is just plain. Negligence
I had to rush my 7month old son to Pediatric ER 2 days before Christmas 2015. He had what we thought was a bad cold. The Staff were extremely helpful an assisted My son immediately..They worked so hard to get his breathing stable. It turned out he had Bacterial Pneumonia an had to be in the PICU for 5 weeks. The Doctors, Nurses, PA, surgeons, were exceptional the whole Time.. We were So grateful for the care despite the other things people have said about this hospital.
I was born here in 1990 and I had my son here in 2009. I went to another hospital in NYC to have my twins in 2014. I now live at Fort Sill Oklahoma and I love the hospitals here. All my appointment wait times were way to long, there's more ppl in NYC but omg. My mom is in the hospital there and I called 5TIMES. I was on a super long wait the first two times, they hung up on me, and one guy was super rude and the last guy told me my mom wasn't even there. I called again right after and a nice women told me she was there, FINALLY. I seriously don't miss this hospital!

My brother was brought in by ambulance at 8am and it is after 10:30am and he has yet to be seen nurse or doctor. I spoke to attending, who said they have other emergencies. It is the ER! But where are the doctors to treat the non life threatening injuries. And, waiting to be seen non life threatening injuries can become life threatening. Management must do better to serve the community!
THE WORST!!!! 3 hours waiting for a CAT Scan, another 2 for a result, and 2 more for discharges, doctors are NASTY, Nurses are incompetent, and over all service is mediocre, and very sad! They "took care" of my 83 year old Grandmother, who got there after a 911 call in only 8 hours! Splendid!!

Today I was treated Dr. Kondagari & M.A Awilda with the GYN unit.
The service was amazing, for my first time being treated by them both.
I recommend this doctor for any GYN related issues.
The patient they both had with me was so relaxing & calming.
The lack of dignity & respect to which my sister was treated with in the Emergency Room/Dept. on 3/10/18 was just the minimal. We have video of the disgusting treatment & will be posting shortly. We have also reached out to the Dept. Of Health on this matter & have every intention of following through; if for no other reason, so that no one else receives such regrettable dare I say lamentable treatment. You could shoot me in front of this emergency room & I would take my chances in an Uber going some place else!
Took my wife 12:00am. It s 5:30. No doctor or nurse to see you at the triage. It s was only five people in the waiting area. Call the hospital to speak to the supervisor I charge she refused to pickup the call. Somebody needed to look into the emergency urgent care department.

Please, I repeat, please don't come to this facility, if you value your life. Customer services is a joke. Half the staff are either talking to themselves, eating or on their personal cellphone. I witness a few staff checking there Instagram feed instead of working. Worse of all when you try to ask them a question, they will try to ignore you or make you feel stupid for asking a question.
Since the time I been here (four hours and counting) only two patient have walk in the patient care room/emergency room. I was involved in a gun shot accident, I have a two and a half inch laceration across my face and I'm still on the waiting room. I feel sorry so anyone that had to comes here, in matter of fact, I feel sorry for myself for coming to this place!!!!!
Not many knowledgeable doctors in ER ... slow services, unfriendly staff in ER..Staff are not diligently caring for patients..long time waiting in ER! Expect 10-12 hours in waiting and discharge for a simple testing.

My son had a cold and he s 6weeks old the care he received was great I was skeptical at first because I know the adult side is always hectic and this is my first baby the wait wasn t long at all but there was only one person when I arrived there waiting his doctor was amazing my ONLY COMPLAINT would be when I was in his room and went to one of the desk to ask for mask cause his doctor said she was going to give me some because I myself am sick and I don t want to get him worse the lady literally looked at me and said WERE NOT ALLOWED TO PROVIDE THAT I just quickly asked for his doctor because she was extremely sarcastic I than saw his doctor and asked her and after this lady told her well don t give out to many we only have one box ....for it to be a hospital I m pretty sure your provided with plenty of supplies and to deny a sick person mask is ridiculous not only that she rudely told his doctor did you promise this young lady mask you should not speak to a doctor that way at all in front of a patients parent it is rude.

I had to give a star to the doctors that did the operation. They were helpful. Other than that, this place is purgatory. They make you wait for 12 hours until someone tells you to wait another time. If you love places with waiting times that are longer than a part time job shift, then you will LOVE this place. What about blood stains? Well this is your place! You will love the blood stained floors. And ask anyone a question about anything....NO ANSWER. Sorry for the sarcasm, I just havnt eaten or slept well for 12 hrs. Again, good doctors....once they actually see you. Its faster to pray for a miracle than to come here.
When i was there for a week, the nursing staff was EXCELLENT BUT...THEY NEED TO FIRE THE CLEANING STAFF...THE FLOORS WERE FILTY AND IN GENERAL JUST HORRIBLE....THE DOCTORS WERE GREAT...MY EXPERIENCE WAS GOOD...WOULD I GO BACK...THE WAY I WAS TREATED? ABSOLUTELY YES!!!!
They're very rude at this location. If you're calling for an appointment, get ready to be placed on hold for almost 20 minutes. Most of the doctors here just seem to rush so they can take care of the next patient. They don't really listen to what you have to say at times; very impatient.

TERRIIIBBLLLLEEEEE went in today sat there from 2:30pm-6:52pm. All that happened in that time was my vitals were taken & they took my insurance info. I asked 5 people!!! 5!!! For help because I was in intense pain and not 1 of them assisted me. All I got was ask this & that person. Ended up leaving without seeing anyone. Everyone was on their phones & weren't helpful at all. If I could give no stars ,I would!!

How do I give zero stars? Went there for a back injury and waited just 6 short hours, only to see the doctor for 5 minutes and get sent home with some pills. Over $900 charged. Since the condition wasn't dealt with, I had to go to another hospital a few days later which actually found the problem and fixed it.
Few years later, took my brother because he was having chest pains and we waited for 4 hours. Ended up leaving because we weren't gonna get seen.
Never again. Never. Again.

Worst Hospital in history, most unprofessional nurses who dont know jack crap when you ask them about the patient. They keep you in the dark not giving any answers of whats going on and will Lie in your face if you keep pressing them about it. Doctors don't give a crap about patients and give them meds that make it worst basically experimenting with patients. DON'T EVER GO HERE THEY LEAVE YOU TO DIE HERE!!!
Update I m at the dentist today and the service is excellent. Dr. Louie is an amazing doctor thank you for all the help. I was seen quickly and it was a walking. Now that I m done for today I have renewed faith in Jacobi dental!
Don t waste your time! By the time you get an appt to see a dr your condition will be worse. If you go to the er you ll sit there all day and all they ll do is give you a little medicine and send you home with the same condition you entered with and no solution to the actual problem.
My dad was admitted the other day with severe ab pain, bleeding and vomiting with dizziness. He was switched to another room and forgotten. My dad had feces, urine and blood all over his bed, the floor and himself because no one checked on him. His sisters had to complain to the nurses that were chatting it up amongst themselves that my father needed to be bathed and checked on because he was weak. They didn't even provide him with water all day until my aunt asked for it when she realized it. He can't walk to the bathroom without assistance while hooked up to things. He requested Jacobi thinking they still provided the service they showed his son many years ago. Obviously they have fallen from that pedestal. We are trying to get him transferred to Montefiore. I hope that the person that reads these reviews actually takes this seriously. Stop playing games with peoples lives.
Don't have a child here .. they will either let you or your baby die even if they see signs of fetal distress (dont want to go into my personal story but I'm saying this from experience) .. also emergency rooms for adults and children are a joke.. they dont care about what medical emergency your having they will let you die first before seeing you or you'll have to wait 6 + hours to be seen ..
This hospital is the worst hospital I have ever attended.The staff is very unorganized and unprofessional. They take their time to address all patients . They also got into a dispute with each other & the patient .The doctor was no where to be found . Multiple nurses have tried to contact him via paging & texting and he still did not show .
I like the Jacoby because it has a good service in all branches of medicine and treatment of the patient and their nurses, the doctors try to do their best to keep their patients stable, also the hospital is very clean in excellence, has a very large parking all its surroundings is well arranged, is also located where there are transportations, has light food restaurant.

However, the staff working in this hospital needs training on customer service. My sister was admitted in this hospital following a car crash and we were there for 9 hours without any type of information on the process. She was dropped off by different people and with no information on what was going to happen next, or the waiting time. We should not have to search the department for the nurse and doctor to ask them for information they should ve provided us with from the beginning. Also, they should have checked on my sister s process and not disappear for a long period of time. The staff working at this hospital need to be aware that each patient has a family waiting for them at home and providing us with a time estimate is necessary to make arrangements back at home depending on the waiting time. Very disappointed.

My mother was struck by a vehicle and it took them 8 hours to get her into xrays and CTs. Overall I spent 15 hours here with here for them to just send her home. Very unorganized, understaffed, VERY DIRTY, and truly need new management, and equipment to fulfill being a number one trauma center

Worst hospital in new york!! How are you waiting 6 hours to get a referral from the doctor in the emergency room and it was not busy. There was even a man with a busted nose in the emergency room since 9pm. A bunch of crazy people roaming around the emergency room mixed in with injured people. This the only hospital that doesnt allow you to enter the doctors examination room with your loved one.
Awful experience, been here since 7:30pm and it's 4:15am and they come out saying the emergency room is closed and not calling anyone in at the moment. I have a high risk pregnancy my blood sugar went down to 50, i have a broken toe nail, and I'm a single mother of two kids that they have to be with me, and this people just don't care about anything. Stock here, need a letter for the shelter but they won't give it to me. I will never come back to this emergency room. This is an abuse!
The worst emergency room experience I've ever had! I am typing this as I am in the waiting room for my name to be called. I am 9weeks pregnant and high risk. I came here at 5:30 with bad back pain and the when I got to the triage my blood pressure was high and I am running a fever. It is currently 10:07pm and I am still waiting
