Must visit. There s a gift shop and a cafe close to the entrance to the bridge.
This is a must see bucket list. I would recommend if you a runner you run across this at some point in your life.it was a little congested but I believe that is largely due one side of the bridge being repaired. Great views. I personally saw three seals down below. Many tourists on either side but once you get ti the middle of the bridge there are far fewer people.
Must visit in SF obviously. But also lives up to the hype, at least if the weather is nice.
It's an American icon, so one must see it when in San Francisco. However, the only thing remarkable about it is the color. If you are interested in feats of architecture, the Bay Bridge is much more impressive.
What an epic experience it is to have crosser this bridge by foot and by bicycle. The views are breathtaking on both sides. From one side you can see the city and if you use the other side of the bridge you can view isolated beaches and mountainous terrain and the ocean. If your cycling I suggest you use the cycle only lane-this will prevent you from getting slowed down by tourists.
World class views, fun to walk, scenic and historic
You have to ride a bike ! The weather was just so perfect for it, it s faster and easier. It took about an hour,it was def worth it .
Whether you drive across or go on a tour this has to be one of the top attractions in San Francisco.
The bridge was constructed in a place with high winds and rough seas. Its a tribute to the men who designed it and those who built this beautiful structure.
We drove across from the San Francisco side going north. We stayed in the outside lane and took the slip road to the vista point. There are parking bays and restrooms. The views are breathtaking. We walked on to the bridge and took some great photos. Be careful of the cyclists when doing this. They have the roadside half of the path.
On the way back we drove through the small tunnel and came back on to the road leading back across the bridge.
Every vehicle is photographed going through the toll booths on the way south. You don't stop, just drive through slowly. No money is taken on the bridge. You can pay online before or after your visit.
Check with car rental companies to see if you are prepaid before you go. They can add an extra fee for paying your toll.
Such a beautiful place to visit. Arrive early to get a parking space.
What a place!! Great for learning history. An how things had been made. Great to walk on. Great photography. Restraunts nice. Lots to do an see.
Getting into San Francisco can be a bit slow, especially if you ride the Golden Gate Bridge. The traffic is impressive and can rival any other great city's. Not accessible to pedestrian, the walk there from downtown is worth it but where so you go next... might as well plan ahead.
Very nice construction, hats off to all the engineers who were involved for constructing the wonderful bridge
A must do in SF. Go over there and back, get up to the close ridges on the northern side for breathtaking views.
Had an amazing experience viewing this dope bridge what a privelege
It was nice to walk on the bridge. There is a parking spot right after the bridge where you can park your car and walk out. There was also a small dock on the lower point on the right hand side after crossing the bridge that was a really good place for photos.
I love the golden gate is a great place to bring your friends and family.
Amazing engineering. Fantastic views. Recommend walking or cycling across the full length of the bridge
An iconic bridge which SF is known for. There are plenty of great spots around the bridge to visit and/or to get a better view of. Great place to go biking on a nice warm day.
A must see when in San Francisco. Take the walk over the bridge and / a hop on hop off bus which will take you across. On a nice day the photos will be brilliant. Wear appropriate clothing as it can be very cold with the winds.
Seeing this iconic Bridge in person and driving across it, was an awesome experience.
My dream destination I was so happy to see . It's a must visit place
The bridge is something else. We had the opportunity to walk across (only open to pedestrians during daylight hours) and really enjoyed it. You get beautiful views out over the bay, San Fran, and the see. The bridge itself is also something to see.
Classic and must-do SF experience. We saw Dolphins from the bridge. Magical.
Great exeprice walking across the bridge with everyone, was able to do the walk twice since there is not a way to get back except to walk back. Didn't realize that on the first round.
The store was adorable. Love the little museum outside as well, really great for teaching and getting kids to interact.
Grand & fabulous landmark of the beautiful coastal city of San Francisco @hdh, BA, CA
I love the golden gate bridge! I would even call it the GG bridge! It's very cool, in a lot of movies and memes. Probably my most favorite bridge in the world!
Ur visit to SFO is incomplete without a visit to GGB
Amazing site. I recommend everyone learn their history on this bridge and the sites below.
Great bridge to walk on. Everyone should try walking in the bridge. Also very cool to see the lane shifting done by a machine. You can see it around 7 pm.
There was a flood of people there all getting photos and still it seemed there was parking. The Golden gate is always a must see. Easy off and easy getting on. Recommended stop if your near.
Great view!
Parking would be difficult. Pay parking available but you have to walk a distance. Washrooms available, souvenir shops in the vicinity, cafe just around the area.
What an incredible experience! I cycled across and was lucky enough to see whales really close by. If you do one thing in San Francisco, make it this!
Would love to visit this place as manier time possible in one lifetime. Perhaps its just a bridge for few but its history and site and view makes it more remarkable place to spend time around.
If you have your own car then its more recommended to visit.
An absolute iconic structure in the Bay area. A must see when you're in San Francisco.
We as a group had an awesome day. We found a great parking spot up on the hill. It overlooked the Golden Gate Bridge. We shot several photos from there. Then we went down around where the gift shops were. Walked out onto the Golden Gate Bridge. Got to see dolphins sea lions and other sea life from the bridge. What a great View From Alcatraz Island. A really great day.
Wow....what a site too see very breathing taking would have like too have stayed longer. The kids loved it took a lot of pictures came out from Washington State from there headed home to Arizona.
The fabulous Golden Gate Bridge. I was lucky enough to have family move here for 2 years, so visiting was easy. We could see the bridge from their window. It was a short walk from their home to the bridge. a fabulous piece of engineering. I never thought that one day I'd get to walk across it and ride over it many times.
Fun to ride a bike across, but very windy! I've never tried to drive it, looks traffic-y
This bridge seems like a well made piece of civil engineering technology. I would trust the structure to hold me whether biking, walking, or driving across. 4/5 would recommend
The symbol of San Francisco! "Must see, must visit". Red legendary bridge, painted that way to be seen in a fog, what you can experience here very often.I was able to see the Golden Gate at third time, because it the weather didn't allowed me to do it. If you are in the another part of the city, it's good to check first online cameras for the weather conditions. It's very windy at the Visitor Center as well at the bridge,if you want to take a walk.
The Golden Gate Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Golden Gate, the one-mile-wide (1.6 km) strait connecting San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean. The structure links the U.S. city of San Francisco, California the northern tip of the San Francisco Peninsula to Marin County, carrying both U.S. Route 101 and California State Route 1 across the strait. The bridge is one of the most internationally recognized symbols of San Francisco, California, and the United States. It was initially designed by engineer Joseph Strauss in 1917. It has been declared one of the Wonders of the Modern World by the American Society of Civil Engineers......
I actually went SFO just for visiting Golden Gate Bridge. Surprisingly the whole bridge is covered with fog and couldn t see any. I didn t knew about the fog and got to know half of the time it s like this. Uber driver suggested that there will be a website where there is a Live Cam available to see the bridge before going to visit so that we can have an idea how the visibility is. Hope this helps..!!
An amazing world-renown structure. Definitely worth walking over to experience it.
Beautiful view of the bridge from Fisherman's Wharf!
What else can you say about this place! The View and the weather just worked out right for us as we were taking some visitors to check out the Blazer see the place because it's their first time in San Francisco. But the breeze the walk the view the people in it interesting. The only thing I could say negative about it are the vehicles that passes by are just too loud too fast but that's about it.
I wish it wasn t so gloomy and cloudy when I visited San Francisco as the scenery looked kinda dull... Still, I m glad to have walked across this historical and beautiful piece of architecture as I live pretty far away. No bridge as grand as that here in Texas
Wonderful engineering, it was built almost 80 years ago and its maintained so well. I visited many places in USA and would like to go there again and again. Spend almost whole day here. It's awesome place. Must go and visit this place when in San Francisco.
Beautiful sea view from the bridge. Stunning... extremely clean water... chilling winds... amazing experience! Loved being there!
Legendary bridge in city. I suppose one of the most recognizable bridge in the wold. We were lucky, the weather was sunny, without fogs, and we coud admire of this grandiose and huge construction. Very nice territory is around the bridge. From another side from bridge, you also can watch famous Alcatraz. Highly recommend for visiting.
The feeling of walking on the bridge built in 1937 and yet so strong is to be felt personally. Great view and breezy.
The Golden Gate Bridge is the iconic place of San Francisco. The first image comes up in mind when I think about San Francisco is Golden Gate Bridge. It's the most popular representation of San Francisco. You can have a great time in bank of the river at any time during the day or night.
nice one to visit. There is a free parking at Vista Point. From there, you get a good view of the bridge. Close to Vista Point, there is a Golden Gate Bridge View Point. You get a best view of the bridge.
It's an iconic place for San Francisco, you can walk the whole bridge or bike through it as well. It is beautiful! The are many viewing points in the city so you can take "the" picture
Awesome breath taking views and rich history which make it a must on everyone's list.
The Golden Gate Bridge is a MUST-VISIT place! It is not only a National Landmark, but a world landmark as well! It is majestic and so beautiful.
Definitely go to the Golden Gate Park, and walk around if you want to get close to the bridge. You can even walk on a path UNDER the bridge, and you can walk ON the bridge if you're up for a decent walk (I heard it was about 4 miles if you walk it in entirety both ways).
It's busy with lots of traffic, but thats to be expected.
It was so cool to see this in person! You've gotta go!
I always visit when I'm in San Francisco and this time I got really lucky with the weather. A stunning bridge and even better on a nice sunny day. If you're a photographer it's still beautiful when the fog rolls in too. Definitely worth seeing while in the Bay area!
Cycle over it! Awesome bridge makes other bridges look like a stream crossing.
Big red bridge. At least I think it's red. Too foggy to see.
The Golden Gate Bridge is amazing! Breath taking views of the San Francisco Bay and also a nice enjoyable walk!
Walking across the bridge I was extremely excited. But as soon I realized we might have to walked back, cause there's no way you can call an Uber/ Lyft at the other side of the bridge to bring you home, I was terrified. I had to deal with a taxi driver who was waiting there, cost twice more than an Uber drive. So drive there, ride a bike there, or at least wear trainers.
Iconic Structure of all times. Had opportunity to see this from both Land & Water as well.
