Within walking distance of Hard Rock Restaurant and the Bay front Marketplace. Lots of going on here. Live music great atmosphere down here among expensive boats. Perfect location on the date before your cruise. Great way to start your cruise vacation on a good note. Yes it's expensive but your right down by the port with great scenery and you don't need a cab to get to things. Do it!

Very nice hotel rooms and decent service as a hotel; however, the bar outside of Toro Toro was way underrstaffed before our event and took 15+ minutes before we could order a drink. Was hoping they would have realized a conference of 700 people was there and would have staffed better.

Normally I do not write reviews for Hotels. I am a very seasoned traveler and my husband and I go away every year. This is my third vacation in 2013. I have stayed at various hotels, resorts, cruises etc. We left for a cruise December 1st 2013 and decided to stay at InterContinental Miami from the evening of 11/29 to 12/1. We read many good reviews on trip advisor and figured we would give it a go. Let me start of by saying the hotel is beautiful and the food was good, however, this hotel was such a small part of our vacation and ended up giving us the biggest headache when we got home. On 11/30 at 9am my husband and I rented a car from the onsite Alamo. We only needed the car for the day. Alamo told us to return the car after dinner the same night to the valet parking for Intercontinental. We took the car enjoyed our day in Miami, went to dinner and later that evening returned our car to the valet after dinner around 10pm. THANK GOD I asked the valet for a receipt that we returned the car. December 1st we left for our cruise and returned in NY on 12/7. December 9th I checked my Visa statement, I had a charge from Intercontinental for overnight parking. I never parked the car overnight.... not to mention Intercontinental charges almost $40 to guest at the hotel for parking overnight...insane! I spent my entire work day Monday trying to contact the billing dept, they assured me a call back... not so surprised I never recieved a call back.... Tuesday rolled around.. once again I tried to contact the billing dept... never receive a call back... on Wednesday after spending another work morning on the phone with Intercontinental I finally was told I will receive a credit, which I am still waiting for it to post. Now on to Thursday! Thursday I get a Alamo charge in the amount of $476!!! Imagine how my stomach turned when i saw that! Turns out InterContinental's valet NEVER returned my car to alamo until December 10th! Thank God I had something from them stating I returned it on 11/30. No thanks to the help of Intercontinental I now spent my entire work day on the phone with Alamo to rectify this. Once it was rectified with Alamo, I contacted Intercontinental, who sent me a email more or less stating they barley care. They did not respond to any of my inquires. I requested a refund of our stay or I would of been fine with even one night, they didnt even address my request. I went on this vacation to relax, I need to have a procedure done now that I am back and my doctor specifically told me NO STRESS. Well my relaxing vacation was ruined by Intercontinental because I had to spend my first week back cleaning up their mess. Their response was the valet is a third party. I dont care if the valet is a third party they work directly for InterContinental and InterContinental does the billing... I am holding InterContinental 100% responsible. Their customer service is a disgrace. In my opinion they charge credit cards and if no one notices, they pick up extra fees not due to them. I would of never wrote this review if they were the least bit helpful in rectifying the issue. Do yourself a favor stay at Epic, Marriott or the Four Seasons... all places I have stayed by the cruise port without ever a headache like this!!!

The staff at the front desk was friendly and service was good. Hotel is at a prime location downtown. However, I booked a King bed to celebrate honeymoon with my wife but received a room with two twin beds instead, and when I was asked to switch the staff told me there was no King bed room left. This is completely unacceptable by IHG standard. I have been a IHG member for the past 4 years and this is a huge let down.

Customer service is beyond exceptional. Lots of people stay before their cruises leave. The service fee will get ya. No refrigerator in room for the rate you pay extra 25? Per night. When i vooked I specifically asked if hotel was on beach.. told it was its not. The room type I reserved for 3 people was changed. I was so tired I couldnt argue. They have in and out for valet... everyone is nice and polite. Toro Toro was excellent..just know everything is small plate style we ordered a few of everything and shared. The steaks looked beautiful to pricey for us... service fee sting. If u have a budget triple it and you will be fine.

Stayed two nights prior to our cruise. Excellent hotel with very helpful and friendly staff at check in. Room was spacious and very clean. Close to the Bayside Market and also just a short cab ride to the cruise port. Will definitely stay at the Intercontinental again.

What an amazing hotel.

What an amazing hotel.
Your experience starts on arrival, at night. The lobby impresses you with so much decor, lights, screens and gives a good vibe. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, elegant and seems newly redecorated.

Free wifi, a fantastic fitness Center, use o their Spa sauna, and feeling hot, their pool is amazing.

My overall experience has been great, not to mention the fantastic central location. Recommended.

Half of the rooms face the Marina and Miami Beach at the distance. The others, face the seaside walkway, lush gardens and a quick walk to the shops.

The aerial tram station is 5 mins walk, so the buses towards Miami Beach. Make sure to get the express one, or it will be a trek journey. You might see old tram/trolley buses, apparently free. But I found most stationary in every corner at my stay. I guess they run.

Meanwhile, the hotel pool is refreshing, good view point and have warm waters and a restaurant.

Great location, everyone treated me like a king! Very clean and comfortable. I was there on business and they upgraded my room to a suite and it was amazing. The staff are all polite and the location is within walking distance of the water and restaurants and shops.

I have stayed at this hotel several times for business. The rooms are always clean. The water is hot, the water pressure is good. Avoid the snack area and mini fridge, most of the treats are on sensors. Occasionally I will get charged for something I did not consume, so check your bill. They have always corrected it upon emailing. The gym is okay; pretty small for a hotel this size. I have never used the pool. The AC works but not quickly, the remote controlled shades work most of the time but I have had trouble occasionally getting them to go up or down. The tile work in the bathrooms is not great. Don't expect perks but if you need a downtown hotel this one is fine.

Too high of price for the quality of room. Great views of the city or of the sea. The room I stayed in was clean but not so clean where I knew for a fact that the sheets were changed from previous guests.

This is an excellent resort to stay at with family. Very helpful staff and god location. We enjoyed Trump's next door resort for free and Marriott provided free shuttle service. We rented a car and went to south beach many times. This resort is close to outlet malls and restaurants. We will stay here again.
