I was here in a 3 day conference. The place is beautiful just small details that I dislike. 1 if you are going to be here for a conference/event you might want to ask for a room next to the conference building, I was in building 2 which is all the way at the end so a lot of walking distance from and to the conference building. 2 the shower has the detachable shower head and was quite uncomfortable to shower also the water pressure wasn't the best, other than this is everything else was pretty good, food was delicious one of my favorite was the beef very tender, I loved the mashed potatoes, and the salmon was awesome. Anyway hope this helps =)

Had an amazing experience with this location. Our university used this location to host our Regional Conference. Meals were included in our fees and meet all satisfactory needs. Customer service in the lobby, bar, and restaurants were always pleasant to speak with. The Hyatt went above and beyond to meet customer service satisfaction

I heard this hotel is nice but I canceled my reservation. I was trying to make changes to my reservation but the person assisting on the phone was rude. It doesn't seem a good way to start a trip, 'not sure what customer service awaits us in case we stay. Good thing there's Marriott nearby.

Dilapidated furniture in a high-end suite
My wife and I spent a 12-hour stint in a suite to watch our grandkids while our daughter and son-in-law attended a wedding in town.
The couch (hideaway bed) was broken down and unsittable, while the individual chairs in the sitting area were extremely beat up.
More concerning was the sliding "barn door" to the bathroom area which was disconnected from the track at the bottom end, allowing the two-year-old to pull it away from the wall while trying to open it. We had visions of the door coming off the upper tracks and the glass panel breaking over him and causing serious or fatal injuries.
High anxiety for the entire visit.

Great place to stay for a trip to the Aquarium

Great place to stay for a trip to the Aquarium
, Carmel, & more. Prices can be fair, especially
with a AAA or Gov discount. Kids love this place
with the pools, ping pong, & the green grass of
the Golf Course. Restaurant is pretty good.
The Club room is no great shakes, but they
do have enough snacks (which can be a meal)
for breakfast & dinner time...so that can save
you some money. Their Bar Resturant is OK.
Please be aware of the annoy "resort fee"...but there
is free parking (not like in SF).

it was a disappointment:

1) Upon checked in the checked in slow and we had to wait like five minutes or more even I had already did the mobile checked in.

2)The room is not what I was expecting as it shows in the website. At the website it was shown as a contemporary bright room. The only thing that was updated in the room is the bathroom and the bed headboard. The room is dark and if they were to change into a lighter color carpet it will make the room brighter.

3)We had a hard time sleeping for the couple of days we were there as there was a machine at the room that makes the room cooler but it makes a lot of noises and when you switch it off it makes the room hot. So I switch in the ceiling fan but it scares me as the ceiling fan is located right above the bed and it was swaying as if it's ready to fall down so we end up not having enaugh sleep when we checked out. We even told the housekeeping and the front desk of the problem and when we came back to the room it didn't made any difference and I think they didn't solve the problem at all.

Overall the only thing I enjoy is the Firness Center with the machines I needed and they are open 24/7.

Not pleased with my experience, and I don't consider myself to be someone with high standards.
Normally I would have stayed at a cheaper hotel, but I booked a room here because they advertised a discounted rate/promo offer for the CaliRoots Festival ($265 vs. the normal rate of $299 per night), and also advertised free breakfast included in the discounted rate. Upon check-in, I asked about where we should go for the advertised complimentary breakfast. I was told that our rate did not include breakfast, but if I could show where where it was advertised, they would honor it. When I showed up for breakfast the next morning, with the exact page pulled up on my phone where it was STILL advertised that breakfast was included, I was simply told by the woman at the front desk that "breakfast is not included." Trying not to let it get to us, my boyfriend and I went down to the restaurant anyway for the breakfast buffet ($25 per person.) While we waited for 25 minutes to get seated, we realized that had we bought a room at full price (which DOES include free breakfast), it would have been cheaper than paying $50 a day on breakfast!! SUPER lame that they tried to advertise some kind of promo/discount to get people in, but end up charging more than they do for their normal rate payers!! Says a lot about their customer service.
Moreover, the only restaurant on site that offers breakfast had HORRIBLE service (all FOUR times that we ate there). And I'm usually very sympathetic to restaurant staff, being a waitress for nine years.
I had to eat there for breakfast 3 mornings, and had to wait over twenty minutes each time to be seated (FOR A FULLY-STOCKED BUFFET, WHEN THERE WERE OPEN TABLES EVERYWHERE.) ??? Once seated, the only thing wait staff had to do for you was pour drinks and take orders for the omelette bar. I had to get up and impose myself by bringing our coffee cups/water glasses and pour every single one our drinks at the waitress's drink station, each day, after realizing we would not get a cup of coffee otherwise.
The one day that I held out and waited for the waitress to take my omelette order, it took longer for her to come to my table and take the order than it took for my boyfriend to go to the buffet TWICE and clean his plate TWICE.
When we ate there for dinner, it was no better. The waitress did not check on us once after we got our food, leaving me to get my own water refill and condiments from her station. We had to wait for twenty minutes for our card to be run in an empty restaurant.

Maybe they offer better service when they aren't busy, but I DO NOT recommend staying here on a busy weekend. I got the sense that they were just trying to filter us in and out like cattle and make as much money off of us as possible. I overheard several unhappy guests around me throughout my stay complaining about similar sentiments. Not what I expected for a "high-end" resort.

The rooms are a 2 star at best. This is no where near Hyatt standards.
Staff is friendly and professional. Property, rooms are from the 70 s and
In desperate need of painting, staining, cleaning. The gardens outside of rooms are Pathetic. Quite honestly, this is a $99 room a night motel. The Hyatt chain and it s management should be ashamed. No disrespect to the management or staff. Stay away if your looking for any sense of luxury.

Was not a guest but was visiting friends who were. We spent the evening relaxing by the fire pit in the gazebo (massive by the way, very cozy on a cold night), and played oitdokr games by the pool (shuffleboard and ping pong). Most of the equipment was very nicely maintained, with exception to the ping pong balls, but it's understandable, they're extremely hard to keep track of. The area is beautiful and I'm told the rooms are quite nice.

Very peaceful, quiet, yet close to aquarium and the highway to get to other areas. We appreciated it not being in the thick of things so we could rest after a day of play. Room was clean and well appointed. Beds comfortable with great sheets. Easy parking, room service kids meals were a deal when we didn't want to eat out. Plenty of storage for our belongings, plus fridge included. Excellent customer service throughout hotel. Wish the rooms were a tad larger and there were more amenities in the room without having to request (only a couple bath towels and small soaps/shampoo's for a family of 4), but will still stay here again in the future.

Nice location. Not a lot of food options nearby without taking a quick car ride, but the restaurant and bar have some nice options available. Try the tomato avocado quinoa salad, it's tasty. It's an older hotel that's been renovated, so the rooms are small but nice. Very little non-valet parking during busy times and holiday weekends.

Customer service.

Customer service.
I spoke to the manager about the poor customer service from the front staff. Priscilla was unprofessional and confrontational. Even after speaking with the manager she had to keep poking and adding her 2 cents in. When we couldn't get through for room service , my wife called the front desk and they gave her attitude and ask what food she wanted in a rude manner. We will not be staying at this particular Hyatt anymore if any Hyatt property's in the future.. Very disappointed with this location and staff.

The hotel is a large resort type with lots of activities. My family enjoyed the S'mores around the fire pit, ping pong, shuffleboard, pool, etc... The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. The rooms are comfy, but could use a little work. The bathroom drains bring up a bit of a stench, and Queen beds rather than twins would be nice.

I stayed the weekend and enjoyed my experience. You're pretty close to downtown Monterey so there's plenty to do nearby. The hotel has great wifi coverage and the rooms are kept very clean.

This particular hotel can not be called Hyatt, perhaps Motel 6? Built in 1930s, with paper thin walls, where you can hear all your neighbors conversations, or when you sneeze and on both sides of your room, neighbors respond with 'bless you'. Unbelievable!
But that's only a start!
When you book this hotel, they never mention that this property is under going major renovation, and main entrance and lobby is completely closed! Access to front desk is only thru some back/fire entrance! That is not the way Hyatt ever operated! Terrible. When you pull to the hotel, it appears as you were getting into war thorn Afganistan, not a luxury hotel on a golf course.
Next, in the middle of the evening tonight, the whole hotel went dark, complete power shot off, not the city around us, as we can see lights of neighboring buildings and houses, just this terrible, old, failing hotel! Next 5 hours the whole property in complete darkness! Nobody is apologetic here, nobody offered any assistance, nothing at all.
Next, parking at this hotel is a complete nightmare, you can circle for 30 minutes looking for a spot, valet is nonexistent, perhaps ok for hollyday inn, but not Hyatt.
We're still, here now, as we booked a whole week and it would be very hard to pick up and move to another hotel with little kids in the middle of our little vacation.
I tried reaching out to Hyatt management about this issues, no response.....

All of the facilities were well-kept and the Grand Ballroom was really beautiful. They offered a lot of services that were supplemental to the event. Parking was crowded, but I was able to find a place quickly.

The good: picturesque setting on a golf course, polite staff.

Not so good: dated rooms need to be refurbished, sagging mattresses, no central air, limited parking, crappy Starbucks coffee, not walking distance from anything.

The hotel has nice clean rooms, there are a lot of activities for the kids like a heated swimming pool, table tennis, s'mores gazebo, and etc. There are also restaurants that are reasonably priced.

This hotel is next to one of many gold courses in Monterey. They have a conference center, restaurant, sports type bar, fireside lounge with bar, coffee barrista with snacks, 2 pools and whirlpools.access to 24 hour gym, tennis club use. The rooms are average size, clean not much noise, no noise between rooms, the heater and fans are mostly quiet when in use with heater and airconditioner in room. Shower without tub in room, desk, small fridge and safe. No dresser, two small drawers for storing and usual sized closet. They do have room service until10 pm, 24 hour customer service and front desk assistance. Multiple two story buildings spread out on both sides of main lobby.

Sitting outside my hotel door after walking to front desk as our keys do not work out of the blue. No one answered the phone at the front desk so we walked down to get new key. Soooo they did not work and my husband walked back. Finally got the front desk on the phone after 15 rings and only 10 pm! Now engineering has to come down - for keys??? The bellhop who drove us back to our room said it happens a lot. Seriously isn t tis supposed to be a high end property?

Beautiful property with great amenities - two pools, decent fitness area, golf course, and of course the rooms are clean and comfortable.

The location is close to the ocean and all the attraction of Monterey but you will be better off with a car as the location is isolated from walking - I am not sure about public transit.

Great staff, I was able to check-in early from my phone. My only compliant is that I did not have good cell reception with Verizon. But a minor detail that could be a welcomed disconnect if you are on vacation.
