Food: Nachos, pretzels, tacos. Skip the burger.
Room is well appointed but the room at the end of bldg 11 has terrible plumbing noise.

Very convenient to the airport and freeway access. Plentiful parking. Well appointed rooms, very comfortable beds. Every room has outdoor seating, most overlooking the golf course. Great room lighting and very nice bathrooms. Everything about this facility lives up to the Hyatt brand. While the service was pleasant, they were very strict about check in/check out and our room received no maid service during our stay.

Great location if you plan on visiting Pebble Beach and Carmel By The Sea. Don't let the exterior fool you, the inside of the room is really great - up to date, clean, and cozy. The staff was kind, and even let me borrow a wine key to open a bottle. The only reason for four stars is depending on the building you're in it can be noisy because of the proximity of the highway. We were on the top floor in a room that faced the road, so it's to be expected, but I write this because if you'll be bothered by it, make sure you get a room in the back of the complex.

We were very disappointed with our recent stay over Valentine's weekend. I had seen good reviews from others who've stayed at this hotel and so decided to try it since we come to Monterey often but am sad to say we wont be staying here again.

Pros:
Location
Rooms are nicely decorated/modern

Cons:
Cleaning staff! This was my main issue as the hotel room we checked into was horrible. Everything was covered in dust and hair, there was a booger on the bathroom sink and when you lifted up the toilet seat it looked like there was dried urine and like the toilet had never been cleaned. I let the staff know and they rectified this by giving us a new room-an upgraded suite (thank you) which was nice but far from the pool where we orinally were hoping to stay near to lounge and use the hot tub. The new room which had 2 bathrooms also had some cleanliness issues as one bathroom toilet had either like a skid mark or something at the bottom of it. It was pretty gross and it clearly hadn't been scrubbed well and the second bathroom was clean but the cleaning staff doused the shower and toilet in bleach so my boyfriend and I had to open up the screen windows and air out the room and rinse down the shower more to get rid of the bleach smell. I didn't want to complain a second time to hotel staff as they would probably just think I was being difficult so we just stayed in that room but I will never stay here again.

There's only one variety of coffee here in the room and no free coffee in the lobby area.

Everything is kind of far from the main lobby/restaurants. Decentralized.

There's renovations/construction happening on the property. This did not really affect or bother us but certain areas are blocked off or may be dusty due to this. And there was no mention if this online or when I booked.

Hotel staff were not great. Customer service could be improved upon. When we called to order room service the room service manager seemed rushed and like he didn't really want to take our order. The food was just OK not very good.

We've stayed next door at the Hilton Garden Inn and had a much better experience at a better rate then what we paid here so I highly reccommend Hilton Garden Inn over the Hyatt the customer service, cleanliness, food and prices are much better and they are in the same location.

I hope you have a better experience then what we had.

This has to one of my worst Hyatt stays in years.

SERVICE:
3.5 Stars - Check in was pleasant, I requested the Diamond 4 PM check out... but ended up having housekeeping banging on my hotel room door at 9:30 am, even with the DND sign on the door. Turns out the front desk checked me out at 6:30 AM.

Quality of room. 2 stars. I have stayed at this hotel off and on the past 10 years, the rooms are poorly maintained. The room I had appeared damaged, worn and torn. Also they recently added new carpet.... BLACK CARPET and it looks UGLY.

FOOD 1 star:
I had dinner and breakfast, thank god it was free. I had pasta which was over cooked, it was sticking all together I have to use a fork and knife. Also the Chicken tenders I ordered were also over cooked. For breakfast I had the buffet, order an omelet that tasted burnt, eggs were dry and had brown burnt marks. My OJ was never refilled. But most of all the breakfast potatoes were absolutely awful.

In the past I have enjoyed staying here, food was good to very good. This Hyatt has really taken a turn for the worse.

Loved that we could park near our room, however this expensive place needs a huge overhaul on the rooms, they are somewhat dated. Our tub was backed up but fixed quickly and the sink also did not drain well.

Worse possible housekeeping ever! Stayed here with some family members for a family reunion from San Francisco, front desk got us right in and everyone was happy.

One room wasn t even cleaned yet even though front desk told us it was ready (we heard housekeeping Mgr on radio tell them it was ready so not front desk fault). So we had to wait another 4 hours until 8pm to Check in and about $200 bucks later while waiting at their bar. We declined daily service as we are low maintenance, but the one time we requested a turn service, they stole 2 watches and put on a blood stained sheet on bed. We took pictures to show them but the Mgr never even came to us.

Called the manager, I guess house keeping manager Nick, not only did he not care at all he didn t even bother with calling back and or meeting with us to discuss. We have always stayed at Hyatt s for the last 15 years all over the state, and that has come to an end.

Was disappointed with the cleanliness of the room. If you're charging me resort prices, I think the room should be satisfactory for a one-night stay. The carpet did not appear vacuumed, there were dead bugs on the floor near the bathroom and other areas had very visible dirt. Overall, very disappointed with the room.

Great rooms and service at this hotel. We dropped by one of the jaccuzis and weren't too impressed with it, but were also spoiled with another hyatts jaccuzi in Tahoe. Everything else is amazing though.

The hotel is on its own hill, which is awesome. Although the rooms were decent and the bathrooms updated, the hotel ground is dated and needs some renovations. The hallways have a funny smell and some of the doors have a terrible creaky sound when opened or closed. If you happen to be on a room adjacent to a bad door, you may be awaken multiple times during the night. It wasn't a bad experience, and I may sleep there again if in Monterey, but only if it is really at a bargain price point.

For over ten years, my husband and I have been attending conferences in Monterey, and since we are Hyatt Diamond members usually choose to stay at this Monterey property. Sadly, we have seen a decline each year. As the conference rates are usually quite reasonable, it is hard to choose another property, even though our stay is usually substandard. The property itself is old. Some rooms have been renovated, but unfortunately there needs to be a more extensive remodel. My recommendation is to request a renovated room with a golf course view, and if you receive their reasonable price rates, you might find this to be a satisfactory choice. Tip: They no longer offer a Regency Club Lounge.

Booked a standard room with points. Room was large and comfortable. This hotel is pretty old and outdated, but the staff is friendly and unlike a lot of Hyatt 'resorts' they don't try to nickel and dime you to death if you are a Diamond staying on points. The grounds are nice, and if you love cool, foggy weather in the hottest part of the California summer, this place is for you. Interestingly, they have ditched the breakfast menu most Hyatts with the TosCA reaturant were coming together around and now just have a buffet. No great loss there, I suppose. Overall, we'll return. This was not our first stay here.

I stayed here one night. The reception was hard to find due to ongoing construction. The outside of the hotel looked like it had not been updated since the 70 s, but the inside of the rooms looked modern. I ate at the sports bar on location (all the other restaurants on the property we not open because of construction I think). The food here was horrible. I ordered Brussels sprouts and chicken. The chicken tasted like leather and the Brussels sprouts were completely burnt. I complained about it at the front desk and they said the would remove the meal from my bill. Parking was also bad. I could not park in front of my building since all the spots were taken. Had to park in a parking lot that looked like it was designated for construction storage. There was no mention of the construction on the website when I booked my room.

Very clean with beautiful amenities. No free breakfast but service is top notch. Free live jazz in the fireside lounge, pool, outdoor fire pits. Lots of great restaurants and shopping near by, and of course the beach! Bring that special someone here for a classy romantic weekend.

The hotel is very clean and quiet. The location is on its private street and has a ritzy feel. They provided us with a free pack and play crib for our infant and all staff that we interacted with were very professional and kind. This is our second time staying at this hotel and we will be back again!

Its OK

Where do I begin...

Where do I begin...
This is not worth the $500 we paid to stay one night. There are way better hotels for this price.
The check in was a joke. We arrived "too early" so we were charged an early check in fee. Then charged for parking and a resort fee. Yet nothing is open so I'm not sure why they are charging that.

Food:
The restaurant is closed right now. So no real food to eat on the property. There is a little Cafe but it's mostly microwave food. They do have room service but nothing looked good to us.

Hot tub:
The pool and hot tub area were ok. The hot tub jets didn't work. No food or drink service at the pool. If you want something to eat or drink you have to walk to the main building.

Fire pits and smore:
We were sold the smore kits at the Cafe in the main building. We asked where to roast the marshmallows. We were directed to the area outside the lobby. Well then we were told we can't roast marshmallows there. We needed to go to another pit. We walked over then security came and turned off the pits. Saying they closed at 9pm. Why would they sell us the kits after 9pm if the fire pit was closed? Ugh! Then security told us we could go down to building 14. Really. 14 building over. Also. The smore kits are supposedly free with your stay. You are supposed to get tickets for a free kit. But they charged us!!

The rooms:
The hotel looks renovated. The rooms look like they got updated. But the rooms have swamp coolers. No balcony or patio. Only a few rooms have that. The ice machines are not in hallways they were outside in the bridge ways or outside of the buildings. Honestly the hotel felt like a renovated motel.

Bathroom:
The shower door is a stationary half door. So all the water splashes out of the shower. Our floor was soaked with puddles of water. It was also cold in the shower without a door to keep the heat in. Terrible design.

So disappointing. There are better places to stay. I encourage you to stay elsewhere

Went to Toscana for Easter brunch and it was excellent. A lot of different choices for breal fast and lunch, including a carving station, omelet station and fresh crab. The Easter bunny was there for the kids and it was a festive atmosphere.

I got a discounted price to stay here but I think I would go elsewhere if I visited Monterey again. It seems they listened to the complaints about no AC, as there was a portable AC in my room which provided a nice atmosphere. My biggest compliant was...no HDTV. Really Hyatt? 42 inch plasma and no friggen HD? I couldn't even watch TV because of the crappy quality of it. After a nice long day of exploring the city, coming back to your hotel at 10pm and watching some TV is great. But..couldn't do it. Anyway. 3/5 stars. The staff was nice and whatnot, but, as the other reviewers stated as well, a $22 "resort" fee is stupid. I wouldn't stay here again in Monterey.

I booked a room and canceled it weeks before my stay, they denied to pay me back, not only that, they didn't even give me the room and charge me $200. The people that spoke to me on the phone were extremely serious while Hyatt policy states 48 hours cancellation full refund.

Always happy to stay and work at this hotel, nice view of the golf course when you can get it, knuckles is great for food and atmosphere, the new market is great for coffee and a quick breakfast. The staff also are very helpful and did their best with a tough situation when the power went out and helped make sure things went well.

We had a very pleasant stay at this resort. We arrived at 4am after a 2 hour drive from SFO airport. We were greeted immediately with keys, the rooms are very comfortable, the views of the golf course are beautiful. Great location. Our destination the following morning was Big Sur which is only 45 minutes from this hotel. The lobby and back terrace with all the fireplaces were very nice. I will stay here again on my next trip to Monterey Big Sur region.

If you are looking for a place to stay look no further! Wow! What an amazing place. The service was amazing. The rooms were clean and beautiful. I had my dogs with me and they were just as welcomed as I was. The staff loved them. I have never been so relaxed and at home away from home than I was while staying here. (the picture I have added is the view of the sunrise over the golf course from the patio of my room.)

The AC didn't work, leaving the window open all you could hear is the traffic from the highway all night. Then the next morning the maid unlocked my door and let a little girl just walk in. It was 8am and check out wasn't until 12. It was very unpleasant.

The service provided by the staff was great, although the rooms themselves aren't perfect, presumably due to the age of the building.
The room has a fridge, which is nice, but the A/C is provided by a retrofitted system. There were easily accessible plugs on only one of the two nightstands, so you have to do the usual unplug the radio thing to charge your phone if you're sleeping on the other side. My room had an actual balcony, which was very nice to sit on. The shower had pretty low water pressure, presumably because it didn't have a door, just the single fixed pane of glass.
All in all, a decent room and service, with a variety of minor complaints.

We did not have a great experience here so disappointed. They did try to rectify the situation but I would not stay here again. Cleaning and cleaning training needs to be improved. We checked into our first room it was covered in dust and the bathroom was not cleaned properly. We had booked a room by the pool. We asked to be moved to another room and they did not have any near the pool but and they did upgrade us which was not expected and a nice gesture but the new room shower was drenched in bleach and we had to rinse down further and air out the room because the smell was so strong and the bathroom again was not exactly clean. I didn't want to be moved again so we just stayed. We didn't feel well the next day maybe because if the smell of the cleaners? They did refund me though which was nice and appreciated. We ordered room service and room service was good. The room itself was nice looking and with stylish decor. Parking is not reserved and can be hard to find. The location is far from the beach and everything but a quick drive -this didn't bother us. I wanted to like it here we did not end up using the pool or hot tub as we wanted since our new room was far from the pool. Just not a great experience.
