It is a beautiful hotel in downtown Greenville. We didnt stay in a room but the meeting facilities were nice. Some of the rooms had windows into the lobby and dont offer privacy if you want more natural light. There is a full Starbucks accesible through the lobby and the front desk was very pleasant.

Doors to the bathroom were a little problematic. Almost locked myself in and no way to get out. Would have had to call room service to come break me out, but otherwise a decent place. Free WiFi and great rooms

The front entrance was very nice and pretty. But the room we were in wasn't that clean. There was obviously dust in the room. The staff was friendly at check in and the cleaning staff were nice but the rooms and expectation for experience at the Hyatt was very low. Our room was a corner room and my view was of the cooling /fans outside for the hotel. No amenities at all in the room. There was a television but the picture quality was bad. I just don't think the "Hyatt" experience was great and very overpriced . I certainly don't expect anything free for staying but I do expect for the Hyatt to live up to its name and was nothing special at all about the room we were in which was a double bed room. Very disappointed. At check out wasn't even asked how did you enjoy your stay! Nothing!

Again, I know it was close to downtown area which was convenient. My husband has ordered something from Roost the hotel restaurant they messed up so many times they just gave it to him for free. No room amenities at all. The hotel shades were bent on most of the lamps in hallway., The hotel room was average but the price wasn't. I don't mind paying more for a great experience but this had nothing very disappointed . I already has several people since going asked me about the experience at the hotel and it not good. Again, for the price they were all shocked . I don't come to hotel just for the appearance when you walk into the hotel but I really look closely at the rooms that will make or break my future decisions to stay.

This is an excellent place to stay in a hidden jewel that is Downtown Greenville. Even when I had a complaint they quickly rectified the situation without making me feel the least bit uncomfortable. My choice when visiting Greenville.

I call and try to find out why when I have cancelled my reservation twice and reconfirmed one other time, why it isn't cancelled and i am being charged I get a hold of Brooke (who hung up on me when I asked for her last name). I also demanded to speak to a manager but she said she was it.
She also told me I was swearing at her and cussing her out when I am talking forcefully and finally did swear once when I continually asked for a manager!
She refused to help, refused to get me a manager (or have one call me when one gets in) and continued to raise her voice at me which is why I did finally swear.
I don't care what her excuses are for speaking in that tone and raising her voice and I said so with a swear word. And then she latched on to me swearing and yelling at her. Well... trying to get her to STOP yelling over me speaking finally did make me yell back.
I wouldn't stay here again for any reason!
Disgusting behavior. When I made the reservation it did not say anything about no refunds. And I cancelled 2 months Before the date on the reservation! I cancelled not long after I made the reservation since I had a traumatic brain injury that caused us to have to cancel our entire trip.

Hyatt.. you really should be careful who you hire!

Bottom Line: Too many failures, sloppy execution for both hotel and restaurant - Recommend staying in one of the many other fine hotels in Greenville and eating at one of the great restaurants such as Rick Erwin's Nantuckett. The Hyatt Regency was once a favorite, but it is no longer.

Details: We stayed here New Year's Eve, although they had no special events or menu. We checked in during normal time, but there was no bellman anywhere to be seen which would be okay except they also had absolutely no baggage carts available. They were not busy at the time, so I don't know what the issue is here. When walking in, it's unclear where to go since there was a desk to the left but it was not staffed at the time we came in. While I piled luggage on top of one another due to no cart, the valet parking attendant is being very rude saying I can't park in the check-in lane - well, I am checking in and parking in the garage is quite a ways away. My temporary parking there is the way it's done at all other hotels. So how am I supposed to do it here??? When I stopped and momentarily let go of my luggage to address his repeated complaints, one piece of our luggage (which can not be easily replaced) fell off and broke the handle. The valet offered no assistance when this happened and a kind customer picked up my bag and handed it to me. Needless to say, this is not the way to run a hotel upsetting my wife and me from the beginning.

We had requested a room with a view of street or the interior atrium and they initially put us in a room with roof view of the air handling units - maybe the worst view possible in this hotel. We then had to move again, but had a nice view of the atrium.

We made dinner reservations at The Roost restaurant in the hotel, taking a later 8:30 PM than we ever like to eat to accomodate them. We thought we may walk outside after dinner, so we wore out coats and good thing, since they placed us near the opening (not climate controlled). We were so cold, it wasn't even close to acceptable and we had them move us. The move was to more of an interior location, still near the outdoor air opening (they had plastic sheeting covering the opening that flapped in the wind at the bottom making us think we're in a barn). While the food was good, service was extremely slow and I had to leave the table to go find a waiter. Our focus was on trying to get service rather that on enjoying ourselves. Some restaurants seem like they just opened yesterday and this is one.

We had a party here and the hotel was lovely. Clean and huge. Its super upscale and trendy and the desk workers were extreamly nice in showing us to where our party was being held. If I had to stay in a hotel in Greenville I would choose this one just because it was so nice.

I was sitting next to him extremely nice man are flight to Greenville South Carolina. We started talking as seat mates often do. He asked where I was staying and I told him the Hyatt regency. He told me he owned it. His name is Rama and he is a first-class man with a first-class operation. Very impressed with the facility, the staff, the upkeep and cleanliness of the room. I will most certainly be back. Maybe I will get to see him again!

I was asked to lend my services as a professional photographer for an event held at the Hyatt; what an incredible place. The Hyatt presented astounding professional staff and workmanship and an atmosphere sure to please event host and guests alike. There was no worry about space, parking or lack there of. The Hyatt had a gracious amount of space, bar, dinning setting with a dance area and even a Starbucks inside as well as other businesses. Space to sit, relax and enjoy the setting--believe me there is a lot to take on--is available. The Hyatt felt exclusive but also inviting and the location presents and urge to walk to streets of downtown Greenville and explore much the town has to offer. Great place. Great staff. Great location and wonderful workmanship opportunities.

Hard bed, hard pillows, broken items in room, WiFi wouldn't connect most of the time and even if it did, it didn't really work. Shower was small and had no water pressure. Don't bother ordering food, they don't follow their own instructions. Room design was terrible, no way to watch TV if you wanted to.

Hi food in this hotel for a conference. It is gorgeous. The rooms are beautiful. The open courtyard space between the rooms and the conference area is breathtaking. The service was outstanding. The gym was clean and nice. The staff was exceptional. I like to visit Greenville for weekend getaways and I will definitely be back to this hotel. It's centrally located in the heart of everything.

Extremely comfortable and quiet room, with great bed. My only real complaint would be Roost, the hotels restaurant. Their breakfast bar was $17 but hardly worth it. Food was subpar and thus made dining their not worth the price. Considering the number of great restaurants nearby, no reason to eat there.

That said, if you're looking for a great hotel with wonderful staff, comfortable rooms, and great location stay here!

Loved it! We reserved a private dining area inside the "Roost" restaurant of the Hyatt Regency downtown Greenville Sat. for about 20 of us to have lunch celebrating our granddaughter's graduation from NGU! She & all of us enjoyed it immensely! The food was good & plentiful and the service excellent! The view from our table was wide open to the hotel lobby below us with its waterfalls & greenery, & above us with the double glass elevators that go up 5 stories, nice lighting all around & large windows to view the scene downtown - and yet completely private! We had 4 kids under 10 & even they loved it - especially the waterfall and the glass elevators, and the big soft cookies after lunch! We will be returning to the "Roost" which (btw) also had lots of outdoor seating, a full bar, & several different areas to choose from inside... And for dessert you may want to stroll up/down the shady street to one of the plentiful ice cream parlors!

I have only used the restaurant Roost and I was totally surprised! I expected mediocre food but it was truly excellent. The bar was lively and the staff very professional. (Only gripe that they had our reservation for 13 people and still only set up a table for 10, advising st the time of sitting that we could use the next table!)
