This Hospital should be embarrassed. It was the most dirtiest hospital I ve ever been in. My father was admitted there and when we entered the room there were dirty pillows and sheets on the floor and it was full of dirt under his bed. The bathroom had no soap and the counters were filthy. We had to actually ask the front counter for housekeeping to come and finally bring us soap for the bathroom and to come get the dirty disgusting linens and towels off of the floor. I wish he would of been taken somewhere else. Staff aren t very friendly either.

Your Willowbrook facility is horrible. Unable to reach the doctor's office or speak with a nurse. Get forwarded to voice mail hell and never receive a return phone call. Scheduled an appointment with doctor only to find out he was on vacation. Scheduled an MRI, as directed by the physician, with the scheduling department. Received a call before the day of the procedure only to discover that the doctor had not made appropriate arrangements with the insurance company. Lack of communication from this facility. The doctor was unavailable 2 consecutive days to attend to this matter. Today, I am seeing my family physician to begin the process all over again.

So the pearland branch of this hospital sent my husband by an ambulance to this location, leaving his car in pearland. He came to the er in pearland where we are staying because he hasnt slept in 2 weeks due to extremely vivid dreams where he is actually talking and moving around, making it impossible for him to get any rest. So the pearland doctor says okay well I think you need a 10 min psychiatric evaluation, unfortunately we dont do those here so we will be sending you to a nearby hospital and they can see whats going on with your sleep. Now come to find out it's like 45 minuses away which we weren't aware of this until we were already in the damn ambulance on the way. But the entire time theyre saying oh yeah once theyre done with this we will take you right back to your car it will be fine. HAHA. Anyways we get there and he is admitted to some kind of psych ward in the hospital. They take his clothes, phone, wallet, EVERYTHING. He's taken to this blank room that looked like a drunk tank of some kind and they ignored him for HOURS until I walked out and asked what the hell is going on. My husband is so exhausted and that he can't eat or drink. He's completely dehydrated! This nurse is so rude in telling me I need to go back to our room and wait for the doctor. Everything in a hospital takes patience she said. It's been hours already at this point so I'm like okay can he at least get an IV because he's so dehydrated? She says no maam the doctor will decide what he needs. COMPLETELY USELESS NURSES. They wouldn't even allow me to go get him water to try and sip they wanted me to wait for them to get it taking their sweet ass time. They literally treated us like we were criminals or something I was so confused and pissed off I was beside myself. Finally she brings a 2 day expired sandwich to him and acts like okay this should make everything better. I go, Okay he can't eat or drink because he's too dehydrated and exhausted remember? She couldn't care less. That's all we got she said. I point out its expired and she acts like I'm such a drama queen like ARE YOU SERIOUS????? After 4 hours of just waiting my husband is outraged and wants to leave, and I couldn't blame him he was being treated like some kind of psycho?!? The nurse says, well his urine and blood look abnormal but if ya'll wanna go I can't stop you. I said okay so we will wait because now I'm even more scared but I ask how will we be getting back to our car once we finish with the evaluation? She said I don't know. I SAID WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DON'T KNOW. Call the damn ambulance that said they would come back and take us to our car?! She said I think there must have been some sort of misunderstanding with that, we cannot provide you with a ride you need to make your own arrangements. I want to scream but I don't tell my husband that part because I think that can't be true I will figure it out and we will be fine. We have no money by the way so we couldn't call a cab. I go back the the room and the doctor finally comes and he's a nice enough guy and acts like he understands our frustration and doesn't necessarily know why he's here. He said all your tests look conpletely NORMAL other than the fact you're dehydrated. So that nurse LIED to me about my husbands health...... He said you're not suicidal or violent, you should be in a regular ward and they should've evaluated you there. He apologized and said he would write him a prescription to help him sleep at least. The ride situation is only resolved when my husband charged out the door saying he was going to walk home because this is bullshit. They finally call us a cab and we get home after 7 hours........ worst nurses, worst experience at a hospital ever...

I receive phenomenal care here. Dr. Maddox is an amazingly thorough, patient and knowledgeable doctor. All of the staff is usually very friendly and they make it easy to get in and see specialists when needed.

The surgeons and the anesthesiologist get 5 stars,...

The surgeons and the anesthesiologist get 5 stars, but the questionable pain studies deserve 1 star. Patients should be aware that IRB waivers of informed consent have been obtained for some rather questionable pain studies at this hospital. You may have been included, and/or may currently be included, in one of these pain studies and not even know it. They are doing a pilot study with Appriss which owns NarxCare where they implement the CDC's chronic pain guidelines into the EHR. Even though I have no medical conditions which cause pain, I reported no pain at admission, and I do not take pain meds the CDC's chronic pain guidelines were applied to me when I was hospitalized for surgery. No one in the Compliance Office, Medical Records, or the Department of Human Research Protections at Houston Methodist will confirm nor deny I was included in pain studies at this hospital.

They have another study where a pain collaborative with other hospitals in the Texas Medical Center was created and they are sharing information about patients that are deemed high risk for drug abuse based on some rather questionable data that has been obtained from various sources, and they are not bothering to verify this data is correct or even belongs to you. If you don't live in a posh zip code, any history of sexual abuse even if you are happy and well adjusted, any history of depression or anxiety even if you haven't been for years, having chronic pain even if you don't take any medications, if you rent rather than own your own home, your education level, income, arrest records (which is all kinds of creepy and none of their business), and so forth may be used to determine your risk for drug abuse. They get to pick what makes you risky, and no one has to tell you a thing. They are not looking for any protective factors. They don't bother to talk to any of your doctors who have known you for decades and can attest to your integrity, they just decide you are at risk for drug abuse based on their "machine learning" and the data they are collecting. This is not evidence based in the least and is a huge violation of patient trust and privacy.

Once you are deemed higher risk for drug abuse even if it's not true, this information may be shared with all of your doctors, and you may find yourself going home after a very painful surgery with Tylenol - even if you don't take narcotics and have never abused drugs. If you wonder why your doctors start treating you differently after having been at Houston Methodist, you may have been flagged as a high risk patient even if you haven't done a single thing wrong.

You have the legal right to opt out of research. If you do request to opt out of research at this hospital, make sure they document this in your medical record and get a copy. Be careful answering the above questions at this hospital as it may be used to make you appear more risky for drug abuse even if you're not and/or it may be used for some of these studies.

There are two pain studies at this hospital that were published in the past year (you can find them on google scholar) where not a single patient in either study required stronger pain medication beyond the Tylenol and/or Ibuprofen they were discharged from the hospital with following surgery. Not one. I don't believe that for a minute. This must be some kind of special Tylenol. One study involved pulmonary patients and one study involved surgeries including hiatal hernia repair. The data in the studies were manipulated in all kinds of interesting and creative ways.

If you feel you have been harmed by any of these pain studies you can contact the Office of Human Research Protections with the federal government. The OHRP oversees studies involving government grants. The IRB should not be approving waivers of informed consent for research studies that involve more than minimal risk, and I would argue that since these studies can result in damage to patients' names and reputations and/or result in patients being undertreated for pain they are a bit more than minimal risk.

Did not enjoy being referred here and if I can help it will never go back. Was referred by MD Anderson for surgery and the dr was not patient friendly. Was told that due ti my conditions I'd be there til pain was controlled about four to five days. Did not happen. They tried to force me out after one night. I could not walk or turn without feeling like I was dying. Saw him a week later for post-op and he said he didn't know why I was un so much pain. Also stated he didn't need to see me again since I lived almost four hrs away. My condition was not stable but that didn't seem to matter. Not easy to get records or phone calls returned either. Staff for outpatient or inpatient is not caring or up to standard. If you are hospitalized, be prepared to pay for parking each day too.

So miserable right now. Been here since sunday and i just want to go home. Was told i could leave if i sign a form, something i just might do. You come to the hospital to get better and feel well. Not to feel miserable and almost worst than what you came in. Having to lie and tell doctors and nurses im fine kust so i can be discharged. I can feel bad at my own home.

Friendly, helpful staff. Anyone there will help you navigate the complex maze of hallways that connect one building to another here (at least 7 + 4 parking garages. Beautiful clean facilities. World class hospital. World class medical care.

The nurses, doctors and staff are truly wonderful!...

The nurses, doctors and staff are truly wonderful! Efficient, intelligent & kind. The facility is very nice & food was really good. Unfortunately the billing department doesn't even come close to being wonderful. I got a call the afternoon before my procedure the next morning telling me I owed over $2000 for this procedure. The strong implication was that I would not be able to have the procedure without paying up front. When I objected to having to pay up front before my insurance company had reviewed & issued my explanation of benefits, I was told I could pay 60%. Since I felt like I had a gun to my head, I did that only to find out later that the 60% payment exceeded my deductible. I complained to the business department and was told that the representative that called me was following her "script". When I asked if I would have been denied the procedure, I was told no but the rep could only "offer" me a 60% payment. If I had told her I was unable to pay then she would have transferred me to someone to arrange payments. Lesson learned - I will always tell them I need to make other payment arrangements in the future. Their policy is to collect up front & issue refunds later :( If everything else had not gone so well, I would be switching providers.

I had the worst experience ever at Methodist. It was like me and my mom was stuck in a nightmare. I had taken my mom there 12/19/16 and was told she possibly had stomache cancer well 12/24/16 I had to take her back to Methodist at 2am. Upon arrival there was one woman slumped over waiting to be seen and i observed the nurses in triage putting on lip gloss and enjoying one another while the other young lady was moaning in pain and my mom moaning and throwing up. They never tried helping my mom or the other young lady and we are both african Americans. When i asked if someone was going to help my mom or the other young lady we were told to leave and go to another hospital and was denied treatment. My mom was dam near dead. I barely made it to the nearest hospital which was St. lukes where my mom received proper care in a timely manner and the staff was awsome. I would not send my worse enemy to Methodist Hospital off 249. They are horrible and will watch you die and then laugh at you. They need to be shut down. Immediately!!!!!!

My father was transferred after his acute Leukemia diagnosis to Houston Methodist where they saved his life within hours of him losing it. Along with fighting cancer, there were residual complications that threatened his life and brought other specialty physicians together to work as a team to save his life. We are going on day 84, but the persistance, intelligence, teamwork and hard work of the physicians at Houston Methodist, Dad is still with us. It's not just physicians, but almost every person from the ones bringing food, cleaning the rooms, the PCA's, the nurses and the ICU teams have been amazing! We are so thankful for a great experience at this hospital and give it two thumbs up!

They better close the STARBUCKS inside the building. no patience to take orders. if you tell them what you want to put in your drink or how you want your drink to be made, they'll frown at you. they just mixed drinks, don't care at all. just mix the drink just to say they made a drink. they mixed drinks too sweet. they mixed drinks and still no tastes at all. smh. I'm just being honest.

Hospital is 5 stars!!! just 1 star for this starbucks

This place is a wreck. We are from cleveland came here due to an emergency the waiting room was disgusting and 60 degrees in addiction to the restrooms being filthy. Wife had to have a ct scan but they never could give us the results after waiting 6 hours. Had to leave to catch our flight only to call the next day and we must request the records which will take around 15 days. Glad to know if your wife has a brain eating bacteria you're left wondering for over 2 weeks. Avoid this place at all costs and go somewhere reputable. Don't bother sending me a bill we aren't paying.

I first want to start out by saying that the staff I had on the floor during my 9 day stay was exceptional. It all started on October 24 when I went to the ER with pain, discomfort and fever. At midnight they sent me home with antibiotics for a UTI. On Saturday I got a call from the ER letting me know that I needed to come back. In addition to the UTI they said one of the blood cultures came back positive for bacteria in the blood. At this time I was admitted. They ran further tests to find out that I did not have a UTI nor bacteria in the blood. They explained that whoever did the original test cross contaminated my samples. This is why one of the blood cultures came back positive and one negative from the start. I appreciate the doctors deligence in trying to find the root of all my problem. Each time they came back empty handed. Somehow a nurse who didn't clean my arm well before drawing my blood cost me 9 expensive tests and 9 days of hospitalization! They doctors explained how the cross contamination happened. All I am saying that my issues stem from my 1st ER visit. Nurses need to be trained so this doesn't happen to somebody else. I am glad to have had a great team of doctors be so prp active. My bill was outrageous! I would like to know why all these tests were run after they determined there was no bacteria in the blood?

I brought my mother here because she had a fall and hurt her knee. She has not been able to walk for 3 days and she's in bad pain. She lives alone and needs social and medical help. We asked for both and have received nothing. We have been pushed around and gotten many different answers of hope with no results. This ER is all over the place. We got told one thing and another happened. They treated her for a uti and discharged her 15 hours later. Didn't know there was a uti but that didn't fix her knee. Thanks. The knee was xrayed only. The dr said an MRI was needed to find answers on most knee problems but that never happened. When asked, the nurse said he did not order one. Now we are wheeling her out the way she came in with now help. She needs help and they won't do anything. We are frustrated, stressed, exhausted and at a dead end. The chaplain on call has been amazing and tried getting us social work. We asked for it all day and never meet a social worker. So they called one to come in to help her in the morning. We will sit here in the waiting room until 8am hopping they actually come in and can do something. I don't want to take her home to leave her alone unable to walk and take care of herself.

This hospital saved my husband's life! After spending 9 days in another hospital that just put a bandaid on the problem I brought him to Houston Methodist. Within 24 hours of arriving they had already found what the issue was and had him in surgery to correct it! My family is beyond thankful for this facility and the wonderful staff here.

I was surprised to see any negative reviews when I opened the google listing. I just spent 2 days at Methodist Hospital while my girlfriend was being treated in cardiology on the 10th floor of Dunn Tower. I couldn't think of a negative thing to say if I tried. All the doctors (we visited with 3 specialists on the 10th floor alone, after having met with different doctors in the ER earlier. Getting that many opinions definitely makes you feel good about the diagnosis, or maybe well-informed is a better choice of words). They also took the time to explain exactly why they eliminated possible diagnoses along the way. They had multiple levels of care working at the same time, doctors, nurses, caretakers, and even the Chaplain were constantly checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. They brought us pitchers of water, all her meals, extra blankets, pillows, etc. There wasn't a single request they did not accommodate and they did so in the fastest possible manner. They took their time, and they were very careful and thorough, and as soon as they were confident in their assessment they helped us get back home as quick as possible. There was even a small orchestra/large band playing in the lobby as we left. A special thanks to nurses Ruby, Coty, and Allysa for being so kind and amazing. Every single employee we met was great, these just happened to be the nurses assigned to us. And one last thanks to our other nurse Latoya for being so friendly and outgoing with the best smile on the floor and actually getting to know her patients on a personal level and really making a connection with them! Methodist, please take care of these nurses, they are awesome!!

My mother battled leukemia for 20 years (not at Methodist) and I am all too familiar with the difference that staff attitude and courtesy can make. It can turn a scary/traumatic experience and make it pleasurable, and as far as their attitude and courtesy, we give Methodist an A+. It's the kind of thing where you hope you never have to go through it again, but if we do, I hope we are at Methodist! It was like a hotel stay, where we were also treated medically, and that's the best you can expect from any hospital.

*Houston needs to figure out what the hell they are doing with that commuter tram that runs in front of the parking garage. If it's illegal for cars to "block the box" at intersections, i don't know how the city thinks it's okay to have their tram running red lights. If the light turns green for motorists and pedestrians, nobody should have to worry about a DAMN TRAIN running a red light and coming through the intersection. Not the hospital's fault at all, but it seems like a pretty big deal. C'mon Houston, if our hospitals are doing this good of a job taking care of us, we need to do better for them! City/Local governments have been handling this problem successfully for decades; if a train is passing, flashing barriers come down which prevent any cross-traffic. Is the city of Houston familiar with this technology? I'm sure a lot of people will think I'm being ridiculous, but I promise you would understand if you had spent 2 days worrying that your loved one had developed a freak heart condition, then get great news and a treatment plan, only to almost DIE when a TRAIN comes through an intersection illegally and almost takes you out.

If I could give no stars I would. ER registration is inept and didn't update my address like I told them to and now I'm in collections to the ER Dr group over a bill I never got because it was sent to my old address thanks to the ER registration people. I hope they're proud of themselves.

Some of the nursing staff are very caring yet Some staff could care less about your well being in the emergency room .I came in and left in the same amount of pain. Use up your insurance and get nothing out of it.. I will avoid the emergency room and you should also. In patient care in while admitted is great but its the terrible hump to get over in the ER room.....Avoid!!! Avoid!!! Im writing this as im waiting for my ride to come back from humble and I was just told to leave with apparently some homeless individuals by rude security. Be careful and wear a suit and tie because you will be treated as homeless. Upon having to be put through a question and answer session and having to threaten to speak with the hospital director about assuming everyone in the waiting room is homeless I was told I didnt have to sit outside on a bench at 5 am to wait for my ride back to humble SMH.. People shouldn't have to go through this at a hospital that has such a name as this.....Avoid this location

This facility and all staff from surgeons to those who meticulously ensured our room was clean were world class top notch 5 star to be sure. We were treated like treasured family. Staff endlessly went out of their way to make sure we were as comfortable as possible, which was challenging because we were there for full open heart surgery. Facilities were state of the art, and all personnel were knowledgeable and over the top friendly. If you need medical treatment and have the option to choose this facility, JUST DO IT. And, to the admin staff member who bought me dinner on July 1st, around 5:30 pm in the Marketplace, you will never know just how much your random act of kindness blessed me. God is good... All the time. Thank you!

THE ABSOLUTE WORST IN PATIENT CARE! Never again will I bother with them...sat for hours for no reason never received any doctors advice. Had to beg a nurse to take out my IV and finally we just walked out. No discharge orders...hell they couldn't even find the Doctor! I spent 7 hrs in the ER and still dont know what's wrong!

I am deeply disappointed. I thought this hospital would stand by their motto and religious stance and provide honest services. First I got a CT scan done in vain by recommendation of my doctor. Secondly I was quoted one amount for a CT scan and paid for it, and now they've come back to charge me an extra $466 dollars on top of what I already paid. Bringing it to a whopping $7,725. I will definitely never return to any of their facilities. Healthcare is out of control.

I had physical therapy at St. Catherin Sports Medicine on Fry (10/4-16/2014) and the staff/treatment was wonderful. My HORRIBLE experience has come from simply asking for an itemized statement of my visits. I have call no less than 15 times to Methodist billing department and to no avail I have been told that they are unable to give me a bill/statement due to a technical issue, it is being worked on. That was acceptable for a week but now we are on 3 weeks and still we are unable to provide you with a bill/statement due to a technical issue on your(and a few other patients) account. I explained the importance of me getting this bill/statement from the beginning. So at this point I would think that something, even if it is done manually could be done to accommodate me. However, instead no one can give me a time frame when this will be resolve and to top that off I have yet to get a call from a billing supervisor, although I have requested it several times. Maybe next Friday or next year somebody will take the time makes sure my simple request is taken care of.

My 17 year old daughter had breast reduction surgery and stayed overnight. Every single interaction with every person working for Methodist was amazingly pleasant. Not only was the medical treatment wonderful, but the friendly atmosphere and courtesy that abounded in the place were such a refreshing experience I momentarily considered getting sick and staying for a week, just to be in a place where everyone is so genuinely nice! If I ever have a hospital stay in the future, I'll try to make it at Methodist.

NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE THE DETAILED TEST RESULTS
Upon discharge, nurse lied and said that all my test results were in an envelope. When I arrived home, I opened the envelope and they were not there. The papers also indicated that I DECLINED a MyChart activation code - I did not. Today I called the MyChart pone number and got a code, then I got online. The test results were not there. Drove back to the ER and they said they could not print out the results (like other Houston area hospitals do). They said I had to wait 24-48 hours for them to be posted online.

6hrs and over 2k and they couldn't tell me any thing and my issues / problem is still going on and no answers. didn't even seem like they tried or cared. Worst hospital I have ever been to do not go.avoid at all cost unless u want to waist your time and money. Other issues.....bathroom in waiting area.... Non working sink( can't wash you're hands and the paper towel dispenser didn't work) they treat you like a number not a person.

Facility looks nice, staff is nice as well. But Hospital does not offer same level of cancer treatment as other facilities, though they claim to. Do not offer 7 day a week outpatient care. If you need certain infusions over the weekend or holiday you have to be admitted for 23 hour observation(shame cancer and infection s don't work banker's hours). If you are late for your appointment say over an hour you have to reschedule, but if they ask you to come in earlier and you do, then you have to wait on them for over an hour.

Good afternoon to everyone. I just want to inform ...

Good afternoon to everyone. I just want to inform you about my current situation after my Arterial Embolization surgery on Monday 06/17/19 at 5:30 am. The following day craniotomy surgery Tuesday 06/18/19 from 7:30 am to 12:15 pm. Here at Texas Methodist Hospital 6560 Fannin Hou Tx 77030. One of the most advanced team and with the help of Drs. Specializing with his residence, My Dr. Taylor L. Gist Neurosurgeon and all his team of doctors. All with the help and in the hands of God our Father. They were able to achieve the whole process of marking, piercing and cutting the skull to remove, remove and clean all 99% of the benign tumor, to then cover the skull cut again and place titanium plates to support the skull. They left me in the ICU intensive care floor for the next 2 days. Until Friday, a normal room was up on the 18th floor. No longer connected to many IV'S starting already also with pills, pills, tablets etc. In place of intravenous medications. I already started my diet of solids . My Dr.Taylor L. Gist M.D. came to see me every day and today he came to say "are you ready to go home tomorrow or today?" I said, "I feel healthy and ready to go if I can today." Today I will be released to return home between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. All my physiotherapy I had everything with very good results. They see that everything is normal and I am ready to go out and go home to reestablish myself for the following 5.6 weeks, continuing with my checkups anyway. I want to thank all Family, Friends and the excellent team of people here at this Hospital for their treatment, support, service and kindness in everything. Some excellent people. Also to all, family and friends to keep me in their thoughts and prayers in each one of you. I will remain in recovery at home for a month and go to the hospital to check that everything is still good. Thank you, Holy Father, for listening to our prayers and giving us Health. As you show us in: Proverbs 4: 20-22. Amen.

When I found myself with a temperature of 103, abdominal pain that localized to the RLQ and bilateral back pain w/ CVA tenderness, myalgias and headache I chose to go to Methodist because of the reputation they have and expectation that I would receive good care. Also, my fiance and I are both physicians but we wanted some privacy and chose to not go to our own hospitals we work for.

Triage went fine, turns out I'm tachycardic, hypertensive and temp is still high. The ER doctor got a quick history, ordered some labs and imaging and said would put in nausea/pain meds. Now I am writhing in pain and couldn't sleep which is why I went to the hospital in the first place. I got moved to a room and the nurse was clearly in over her head, in fact she told me so and apologized for the "neglect" since she had so many other "really sick patients". I'm thinking, I only go to the hospital historically when I needed surgery so I'm feeling pretty sick myself.

They want to send me to CT but have misplaced the urine sample to test for pregnancy prior. I ask if I can get the pain meds the doctor said he ordered since I can't sit still, especially before imaging. She said she didn't think he ordered any and would have to ask. The doctor came in quickly pressed on my belly in the RLQ and I nearly jump off the table. He asks if I got the pain meds he ordered and I replied not yet.

He said they would evaluate me w/ CT for appendicitis vs. pyelonephritis and again said he would tell the nurse to get the pain meds. I go for CT after finally getting anything for pain when the nurse said "whoops didn't realize he put in meds". The ER doc eventually comes back and says well good news is you don't have appendicitis or pyelo and your urine results don't exactly explain how sick you look so do you want to be admitted or discharged with meds. I told him I prefer to be home and he said "ok great, that is easier for me". He said he will load me with IV antibiotics and send me home w/ scrips for outpatient treatment.

I also ask if I was flu tested because my son had the flu (and I work in the hospital so plenty of exposure). He replied the flu test was negative. I look over the test results on my DC summary and see no flu test ordered, clearly a lie since he didn't test me.

I then ask if the CT was non-contrast and he said yes. So I had not mentioned that I am a radiologist and my fiance accompanying me is pulmonary critical care physician and any radiologist would know that appendicitis and pyelonephritis are not excluded on a non-contrast CT so really they don't know.

I then asked if my blood and urine were going for culture bc the sample had been sitting on the counter for 6 hours. The nurse looks at me kind of dumbfounded and said well I don't think they ordered that or planning to send them.

While the nurse prepares to DC me, I ask for the CD for the CT and the nurse just replies you can get the report but that's it. We go around like this a few times when I reply I believe it is possible to get a disc or something with my CT on it and not just the report. She finally comes back and says ok it will be a few minutes. I eventually get the disc and she is taking out my IV. She then reviews the medications and is unfamiliar with them so tries to tell me the pyridium is for pain. I never said I had UTI symptoms though. I asked for a few days of meds to help with the back pain/spasm (which is what brought me to the hospital). At this point she realizes, whoops the doctor put in for IV antibiotics. Do you want to stay and get those? At this point I realize this is why patients complain about doctors and I can't disagree.

This was such a disappointing experience and in fact I would be embarrassed if this were my hospital. I expect to wait in the ER, not a big deal. What I do not expect is to be lied to about my test results, not get cultures sent per sepsis protocol or even antibiotics and "negleted" because they had "more sick patients".

They blew my vein trying to take blood. Their system is very disorganized. I've had to call them several time for any single issue or question... very difficult to reach them and get your own results from them.

A family member had brain surgery. Someone was allowed to stay with them, though in the various ICU wards, there is no eating allowed and visitors must leave for two hours at shift change. I believe I caught a cold from spending time in the cafeteria. The cafeteria is amazing and even the guest trays are good (waaay better than I thought hospital food would be). The gift shop should be open more hours, as the cafeteria closes from 2 to 6:30 am. The staff was superlative.

My cousin s wife has a massive hemorrhagic stroke ...

My cousin s wife has a massive hemorrhagic stroke at the age of 40 and is in critical care in the ICU on the 11th floor (Neurological floor) Neither her or her husband speak any English since they just migrated here from India a couple of years ago. The first day, they allowed us all to go to the 11th floor and stay in the visitors area (small waiting room on 11th floor) while my cousin was allowed as the solo designated visitor to her room- which is totally understandable since we are in the middle of a pandemic. But one of us - American born cousins- has to go with him to translate. Unfortunately- these are our circumstances. They would not allow us to to go up today or help translate anything to him. They kept telling us, he is being translated via a tablet he told us he doesn t understand fully what they are saying. They had a difficult time finding a Sikh person who speaks fluently in Punjabi - and it s so frustrating. We were told his wife is the most critical person on the floor hanging onto her life by a thread- and they would not allow us to help him in his most broken time. He s been crying excessively- mostly out of anxiety of not knowing what they are doing and what they are making him sign and all the procedures that are taking place. This isn t fair to further drag someone through unnecessary stress at a time where every hour is critical for the patient. We don t want to go bedside inside the ICU- we just want to translate from the 11th floor waiting room as we did the first day. Doctors and nurses were updating us and we were communicating with him fully and he understood everything. An iPad translation and a human translation are two different things. Poor guy hasn t slept in 3 days or anything and Methodist hospital is adding to his stress!

I was a patient in the (I believe) West wing psychiatric ward. I Loved everyone there, especially the specific nurse Josh, and the PT's. I was sad to say goodbye to everyone there, but I am thankful for all they've done. (Did not enjoy the bills though)

The American health system hard at work! They don t care about the patients health, they care about how much they can bill him and his insurance. If you have great insurance they will keep you longer than they need to and if you have none they will push you out.
I d say to avoid this place at all costs but it s easier said than done! Just don t listen to a thing they tell you, when they say discharge at 11:50 what they mean is 2:00 because your insurance is great and they got greedy.

Houston Methodist is a great hospital as well as Methodist in the Woodlands. My wife has been in the hospital almost 4 weeks with covid. She has been at the Houston campus since July 28th. The doctors and nurses have been great with the exception of a couple of nurses who didn't seem to have much of a caring attitude. That makes for a rough 12 hours for a patient like my wife who is allowed no visits at all. The no visitors policy needs to be changed! Why can't the spouse be allowed to come in at least 2 hours a day? I'll be more than happy to suit up in full PPE and I'll even pay for it! Being without any family is very hard emotionally on a patient. Hospital administrators should understand this! You could even have visitors on her floor coming in on a rotating schedule. This policy is wrong and should be changed.

If I could give a zero I would. Doctor said they would refill my prescription but never did and now they want me to go back and spend another $200 for a prescription I was told they would refill in April. Customer service is rude and terrible. They just want to make money, not help.

This review is not based on the care of the hospital. This hospital is a great facility and has provided great care to a family member.

This review is about the security of the hospital. Today i was there visiting a family member and decided i needed to step outside to get a breath of fresh air. I walked outside of the valet area and within 30 seconds of stepping on the sidewalk i was nearly attacked by a transient person who appeared to be trying to rob me. Fortunately, there was another person there who stepped in to help me get the guy to back off. There were no security guards anywhere to be found at this highly busy area of the hospital. When I notified security of what happened, they were aware of the this guy harassing other people of the hospital and said they did not have enough resources to post a security guard at that area.

I am extremely disappointed with the lack of security at this hospital. The last thing I ever thought I would have to worry about when visiting a family member in the hospital is potentially being mugged.

One star due to INSANE prices for tests. All doctors refer you to HM testings centers who charge between 7x and 10x more than a third party clinic. Such as Conroe open MRI. THis is after insurance.
