Excellent Hotel, with clean and well soundproofed rooms. Personally, I found the breakfast very good, very rich, especially with regards to fruit, often overlooked in other restaurants.
We are close to Termini and convenient for going downtown in the evening and visiting the Roman museum and the Palazzo delle esposiizioni nearby

Anna at the Best Western Plus Universo went above and beyond. She met us at the front desk and explained that they were having an issue with no available water for some of their rooms. Her resolution to the problem was to book us at another Best Western Premium that is actually closer to the Termini. And she called and paid for a taxi to the other hotel. Then, at the upscale hotel, we were given the same room rate as the Plus, as well as a dinner discount and free breakfast for all three days of our stay.
I highly recommend this hotel and the Best Western line for their graciousness and desire to make right something that was actually out of their control.
Thank you Best Western for having such incredible customer service.

Definitely a historic hotel, near Rome's Termini station. The worst coffee ever tried in Italy (maybe acceptable for tourists). Attention to the single room ... For years I had not seen a niche worthy of a cloistered monastery. Fortunately, the bathroom is of equal size. Modern in furnishing and design. Attentive and helpful staff.

In our room there was a smell of sewage (which is not expected of a hotel of this level), however the problem was promptly solved by the staff, even if a change of room would have been more welcome. For the rest, everything is fine.

One star is too high of a rating. This hotel was the worst part of our vacation. The front desk was continuously rude and short tempered. We arrived at the hotel after a nine hour flight told that our two rooms would be ready by two although it took numerous hours to get the key to our second room therefore we had to shower our whole family and take naps in such a tiny room. Also they gave us a very small room for the same price as our other room, which is like selling a 5 liter water bottle for the same price as a 20 liter. Aside from these problems the air conditioning barely worked causing us to wake up in sweat. The hotel did not have a business center and refused access to any computers. Later we asked if they mailed postcards, which they responded no immediately after they preceded to mail a postcard. We then asked them what about that mail and they said oh that was just a favor. Please save yourself and your money and stay somewhere else!! This was and is a horrible hotel.

Room was nice enough - nothing extraordinary, but nothing wrong with it either. Breakfast left a lot to be desired - the hot food amounted to tiny frankfurters, fatty bacon and unappealing looking scrambled egg, while the cold food included some nice pastries, and other standard affair.

My significant other and I had an average experience at the hotel. Upon arrival, the front desk agent asked us for our names but did not attempt any conversation. The same thing happened at check out. The rooms were comfortable enough and the location is good being right by Roma termini and 2 train lines. Overall a good place to go if you want to get a good night's rest but do not expect 5 star service(which I did not given the price).

I have been to this beautiful hotel 3 times to attend seminars. I had a great time. The rooms are perfect and the lunch really good .. Salads at will .. Simple and light first and second courses, very kind staff. I can't say anything about the rooms because I haven't seen them. I recommend it for seminars, courses etc.

Staff is friendly, the location is very close to public transport in all directions - perfect for sight seeing! For great Italian food it's a bit further, but it's all about tradeoffs. Rooms have WiFi and AC

The hotel is located near the Termini station and is easily accessible by metro and other public transport. In addition to rooms for guests / customers also it provides several conference rooms, spacious and functional comfortable.

The location of the hotel is good. Only a few minutes walk from the main train station of Rome (Termini). Also you can reach almost all attractions on foot. Breakfast is available for 5 euros per person. Unfortunately, we had a room, which is directed into the courtyard, on which there were ventilation and air conditioning. This gave us a very high noise level. Size and comfort of the rooms themselves were adequate and satisfactory. This hotel is recommended!

I was in this hotel for a business meeting and the experience was not the best.
Nice room, but we had problems with some renovations that were being done in the hotel. They stopped them after our grievances. Then in the salt baths there was no water for three hours ...

Great accommodations and it's 2 blocks away from Roma Termini. The room was very nice and the wifi was very good. Staff was very friendly as well. Very busy area so if you prefer to be away from the hustle and bustle look elsewhere.

Very nice hotel, nice and clean two steps away from the termini station. Friendly staff but perhaps more used to foreigners than to Italians. We were not asked the reason for the stay that, in the case of a holiday like ours, should have taken them to give us a map of the city with the basic directions to see the main monuments of the city and some tips to move and eat. We then asked for the map (they keep entire blocks on the counter at the reception). Small disappointment: The second day we were not given back the soap and the bubble bath after the cleaning tour. This hotel also does gluten-free cooking and belongs to the home-based network of the Italian celiac association. We indicated the presence of a celiac at the time of booking and on arrival we were told, at our request for information, to communicate it directly at the time. International classic breakfast, very varied, rather embarrassing gluten-free breakfast. Initially, a courteous but hasty waiter turned to me, who just brought me a basket of packaged products (unfortunately not very good). Then came a very good and really kind waiter who asked me if I wanted more and if I liked some frozen brioches to warm in the microwave. The appearance was terrible and the taste maybe even worse but I really appreciated that waiter's attention towards me. But I wonder, would such a hotel, which treats gluten-free food, do better? Yes and with little. It would be enough to ask on arrival if there is a celiac and what he likes. There are many producers of sweet and savory gluten-free foods in Rome, that minimum would really be enough, also asking you to pay a tad bit more to offer a top service and a breakfast worthy of the name really for everyone.

The negative review stems from the fact that, during my two-week stay in mid-February, the room was always excessively hot, making the living room unbearable. Despite the open windows, the heating turned off and the inspection by employees, the room was still suffocating.
For the rest I found myself very well (dinner, gym, sauna and Turkish bath, staff, organization, internet station) and I would have given 5 stars.
P. . Little fridge bar stocked.

This is a fantastic hotel - it's very centrally located and within close walking distance of all the tourist sites. The hotel is very modern and spotlessly clean. The rooms are spacious and great value for money. I would recommend this hotel 100%

Hotel is nice and has a great location but customer service and hospitality is lacking at the front desk. Stayed a week and the room had issues but just dealt with the inconveniences, as the staff did not help. I had to change my mindset to treat the hotel as a bed to sleep in, but not be part of a nice vacation. There are better Best Western hotels to experience a memorable vacation.... The Universo is a nice hotel and it should meet the essentials but don't expect much help or a simple greeting.

Overall we were happy with the hotel. The rooms were clean, spacious and the reception desk was manned by nice people during the day. However, I would not stay here again after their arrangement of our airport transfer. My wife and I requested a taxi at 3:30 AM from the hotel. When booking, I specifically stated I would be paying the cab with a credit card. Reception told us the cab would be 55. When we went downstairs to meet the cab, the driver was in the lobby chatting with the overnight front desk employee. The driver told us that the price was only for cash. I pushed back and said I will not pay in cash. The man at the reception desk interjected and said why don t you go to an ATM? It s right there . I stated again I would only pay in credit card. The driver reluctantly agreed and we go out to get the cab. The cab ended up being a shared van (not being told this when we booked). Since we had to catch our flight we got in. At the airport, the driver upped the price to 60, claiming that our agreed price was only for cash. The driver had our suitcases locked and wouldn t allow us to get them until we paid. I was disappointed in this hotels inability to book an airport transfer for a guest. I wouldn t stay here again because of this and will be sure to let others know who travel to Rome to avoid this hotel.

Three elevators in the lobby. The lobby is large and has sofas. About 20 people can sit. There is a convenience store and a restaurant where drinks are available right opposite the hotel.
WiFi free

I have been here for two days and I can confirm that it is the right place to sleep in Rome. Excellent breakfast staff is very professional, trained to better manage customers. Clean rooms and perfectly soundproofed rooms to rest with respect to the chaotic area.

I've been there often for training events and everything works fine. I often saw the queue at the reception (for incoming groups) and this discouraged me when I had to choose a hotel nearby.

It was a clean and clean room.

It was a clean and clean room.
Because the service person who is corresponded is kind, I think a good hotel.
Breakfast is buffet, taste is mazazuzu. It is a cousin.
I'm worried about dirt on forks and spoons.
Thank you for full occupancy all day! Is that what you mean?
There is always a person.
Because it is in the city, it is convenient wherever you go.

Recently renovated hotel. In a very comfortable and quiet position. Excellent spacious rooms equipped with every comfort. I was lucky enough to have the suite: spectacular, on two floors, really comfortable. Rich and quality buffet breakfast.
