LOVE this resort. We have been coming here for years. Rustic, yet elegant. Food and drinks are good - we have never gotten sick. Pool is HUGE and very nice. We like watching the games and activities and the music. Have never made it to the nightly entertainment - fun + sun + margaritas = early dinner then good night.

My husband and I spent a week here for my birthday. We were so impressed by staff and service. Loved the pool and the beautiful jungle pathways that meander through the the center of the resort. It was awesome to see all the beautiful native wildlife that have made a home at the resort. We will definetly be going back again.

This place is amazing! All of Iberostar is spectacular with beautiful scenery! I recommend it for all ages!

The service is very good and the place very nice, the room is above average although not the best I have been in as well as the food. But the stay is worth it, the shows, the beach, the bar, the pool. In general it has everything and many more good things than bad. It's worth it.

The hotel here is lovely! We've stayed 6 times before and each has been just as good as the last. We just can't stop going, and here's why...

For starters the staff are fantastic! Consistently, they've always been upbeat and filled with enthusiasm - right from the moment you get there!

The food is good, I especially like the tortillas they have each dinner at the buffet every day - they're lovely! Also, they have a wonderful and wide selection of restaurants available too, from Japanese to Mediterranean, and you get 3 free visits a week to any of them which is great.

Did I mention it's all inclusive? That means the buffets, bars, and poolside restaurant are - as far as I know - completely free of charge. Which is surprising sometimes given the relatively higher quality of food you get, and the superb service and staff as always.

The rooms are wonderful, lovely to have the sun blazing through your window whilst you enjoy the finest air conditioning after a busy start to your day. Often we have to turn down the cooling when we pop it up too cold. The beds are good too, and it's always nice to have a little fridge stocked full of free soft drinks and water to down as and when you like.

Considering it has recently had a fire, I find it surprising how true to its old form they've kept it after rebuilding it. The only real difference I've found is colour of the pillows of the seats in reception. They're green now.

Also the WiFi's free, so 10/10!

If you choose to stay here your in for a superb time! I'd highly recommend you visit the Xelha water park and Chichen Itza - the spectacular wonder and ancient Aztec ruins / city which stands just a few hours away. Bus rides are available for both directly from the hotel.

Great Hotel. Loving people who work here. It really rests. The animation guys, especially Fernanda, are at full throttle. We entertain ourselves a lot. Recommended. Rich food and a beautiful hotel. Nature at your feet

The place is really nice and the staff can't do enough for you. On the minus side - I'm not a fan of their food at all and the beach was dirty and full of seaweed and so I stuck with the pool which was quite good.

It was really annoying to be hustled and subjected to their high pressure sales tactics in an effort to sell us club packages. Another spin on the timeshare concept.

Very nice hotel, but they discriminate against the national tourism, very bad for that.
And it has no elevator, although they are only 3pisos, the one that you get the room of the 3 floor and with an infant is very uncomfortable!

I have never written a review in my life, but I am so unhappy with the service at this resort. From the first day we had multiple items not working in our room. Coffeemaker, minibar, Air Conditioner makes a loud thud every hour, not all the buttons worked on the phone or the remote. Room service would forget to do half the cleaning. Guest services dropped the ball and never told us that you need reservations to do ANYTHING and everthing in this resort. We would literally have to ask for everything. Guest services was useless. You even have to reserve getting you hair braided? I dont mind doing everything myself and I work very hard to make a living. When I pay alot of money to take a vacation and spend my vacation time sorting out their problems then that's a problem. I would NOT recommend this or any of their resorts to anyone. There are way too many other places to go. Good luck.

Mixed reviews here, there is nothing wrong with the resort itself but the experience was subpar. The receptionists were mostly unhelpful. Tessa also laughed at us, I'm not sure she understands English or Spanish? The food was not good. I came to Mexico for some amazing Mexican food and it was horrible. All the restaurants were bad. The buffet was better but it is the same thing every time. We ended up going into Playa del Carmen to eat and instantly the food was amazing.

One thing I wish I had known when I booked was that the resort was in Playa Car not Playa del Carmen. We would have chosen a different hotel. Playa Car is a secluded bubble for tourists. It is not a good way to experience another country or culture.

The beach is beautiful but covered in seagulls or pigeons because of all the food. Then the family next to you would throw them some food and suddenly there are 50 gulls dive bombing you. It was not cute. We did not have this problem on the public beaches in Playa del Carmen. The drinks are included but so weak I don't think it was even worth it.
There are a lot of things to do on the beach but snorkeling is not one of them. I wish that had been clearer. Also I wish the website made it clear what exactly is included or available for you to rent. We brought our own snorkels but found out they were included in the price we already paid.

Overall this is a family friendly spot. If you need the protection of the bubble to feel safe in Mexico, if you have little kids or picky eaters and desire a nightly dance show this is the place for you.

The place needs more show.

I vacationed at this resort with a wedding party during December. The beach was really awesome and the food and staff were also accommodating. We did have a few issues with our room cards being demagnetized because of coming into contact with cellular phones. Thankfully, management was familiar with the problem and would allow us to have several cards per room to avoid having to the back to the lobby everytime it happened.
Overall, the wedding was lovely the resort wasn't too big and it was close enough to Playa del Carmen for a quick taxi to take us out whenever we wanted.

What bad attention from guest service Miss Laura was totally bored and bad since not even the greeting answered

we been to playa del carmen before but at another resort, I have to say this resort was very nice, excellent customer service, rooms were very nice and clean, Food was good however needs more Mexican food, music at the lobby and at the buffet needs to be more exciting you can fall asleep with it specially in the evening, entertainment was excellent
I really want to give a big shout out to Luceli at the pool, wonderful lady, so caring and helpful always making sure we were happy with our drinks. please let her know she deserves it . THANK YOU SO MUCH LUCELI ..
OVERALL Our stay was awesome, and making plans to come back hopefully you will take in consideration about the food and music, not at lot to ask for lol.

Every time I return to playa del carmen, this will be my house

Good for large family group of different ages, lots to do during the day, not much to do once the sun goes down. Beach and pool were good and easy to find lounge chairs. Only complaint is customer service at the front desk/concierge/baggage is extremely slow. Our concierge was way too pushy about signing up for the timeshare meeting and seemed irrationally annoyed when we said no for the fourth or fifth time. Not a relaxing way to start a a vacation. Otherwise, would recommend resort overall for a group, probably could find better options for couples.

I just recently stayed at this resort and had a beautiful time. I stayed with 5 other family members and we had no complaints. It was always clean and well looked after. It was so nice that it was tropical and animals that were around every day. It made the experience even more enjoyable. The beach is amazing and very close to everything else. The waiter in the buffet that was the best, was Ramon! Thank you Iberostar Tucan for the fantastic accommodations!

I went to visit but the hotel is excellent they take care of every detail that I could realize soon I will be staying there to live the experience 100

Lovely hotel, would recommend if you're looking for a quiet chilled get away... wide choice of food and the staff are very kind and helpful... they also dont get paid enough but that's a story for a different day

Besides that this place is just awesome there is not much to add that hasn't been said by all other great reviewers. This resort was just as great as Iberostar Dominicana that we stayed in Punta Cana. The Tucan offers better drinks and jungle setting is very relaxing. Would def return- 5 stars.

The rooms are comfortable, the size is ideal for a couple. The food is good but not very varied, the staff is very friendly, the pools are spacious, the common facilities are clean, the gym has adequate facilities and nightly shows entertaining. Good detail the jungle inside the hotel is entertaining to watch the animals. The beach is very clean and there are enough loungers.

The hotel very good, but they should do something with the sargasso ... it was impossible to go swimming in the sea

We stayed at Iberostar Tucan from the 11th to the 20th of February 2015. It is an excellent establishment located in a particularly well kept paradise. The cleanliness is remarkable. The reception is very friendly. The staff is very smiling and motivated, really at our service. The catering is excellent and varied. This will remain an unforgettable stay. A big thank you especially to Monica, met regularly at the reception of the evening restaurant "La Gondola". Thank you all.
