Hotel Iberostar Tucan & Quetzal - Playa del Carmen (Mexique)***** Review

Loved staying at the Iberostar Quetzal. All the staff are hard workers, extremely friendly and service was outstanding. Loved observing the monkeys, and exotic birds from my balcony. I will be returning

We were in iberostar tucan with my sister and the truth was that it was an incredible experience from the room service the food the attention of the whole hotel and the staff of recreation everything impeccable! 100% recommendable

Beautiful beach and a great experience all around. Great value.

The stay was ok,
However, many animals are difficult to sleep, also many, many mosquitoes !!
The food is not great, the prices excessively expensive
You have to get up at 5 am to have a deckchair by the pool or even a parasol in the sea. In addition, the sea is not terrible full of seaweed
Work in front of the rooms, poorly soundproofed
The only positive point is the sunshine and the entertainment team and staff are very helpful! :)

Great baristas and friendly atmosphere right in the heart of 5th Avenue . Iced coffee is a great choice for the days heat .

Super awesome !! Make it short. Room was very clean. Food varied and tasty seasoned. Every day at the beach on the beach got our drinks. Staff helpful and friendly !! All in all, a mega nice holiday. Many thanks to Edgar who has always served us so nice!

It is located in the private complex Playacar. Quiet hotel with a very nice beach. My peacocks caught my attention, very pretty

The hotel is very nice the spectacular surroundings and all the staff of the bars, restaurants and especially a public relations called Josue (Thanks for trying to feel welcome) are unbeatable, congratulations to all of you really!

I only have to point out that on the day of our arrival our bedspread had bloody stains and it took almost 2 days to bring us a clean one and take us a clean one. Also from our room we heard a huge noise that would be from a generator and told us the maintenance staff who had problems with electricity.

Points for improvement: reception staff more open to the customer and effective and more control of cleanliness in the rooms, mainly in arrivals.

It has been a wonderful experience, we traveled as a couple with three boys of 20,19 and 15 years old and we have all enjoyed it very much. The kindness of the people has been incredible, especially for us Matilde, she helped us with great pleasure as soon as we requested her. The cleanliness throughout the hotel is magnificent, the surroundings of the precious facilities, you can enjoy a wide variety of animals that are loose around the hotel. We certainly recommend it, relaxing holidays insured !!!!!

Lovely hotel, would recommend if you're looking for a quiet chilled get away... wide choice of food and the staff are very kind and helpful... they also dont get paid enough but that's a story for a different day

Well the stay was very good and the attention in the same way I feel that the rooms could have some changes but for the moment I stayed and it was an experience that I have not had in another hotel

Love the show and the activates at this resort and it's a cool place to visit you can make many friends there with the animation team and chill at the beach a little seaweed but not alot like you can't swim in it love the team there the waitress and the hostes at every restaurant is friendly and amazing

Nice rooms, nice employees, but food is americanised now. 2 years ago eating at Quetzal was an experience and fantastic, now it's typical Hotel food. That's the reason to give only 4 points.

Excellent 5-star hotel in the Playa del Carmen resort area. Beautiful structure inserted in a pseudo-jungle in which there are a lot of animals. Beautiful restaurants. Wonderful swimming pool. Carina well-equipped beach area. Here nothing is missing

Almost all my experiences at Iberostar were positive. Sans a few hiccups, the accommodations provided were fun and easy. I felt very relaxed and at ease here and the food and amenities were all excellent. The rooms had great restrooms and WiFi, the organized activities were always fun and some of the theater shows were really awesome.

I've been to this resort six times and can't get enough. Love the jungle atmosphere and it has one of the prettiest beaches that you will find. The howler monkeys will hang out on your balcony if you have a upper level jungle room. You won't leave disappointed!

They did not respect my reservation, it seems to me that the rooms arrived and sent me to another hotel, I lost a lot of time in the rearrangement, not very good treatment to the national tourism.

Great resort always a wonderful time here at the quetzal.

We were 6 days in this beautiful hotel ... the hotel is fabulous with ample amenities and one of the best varieties of exotic animals such as howler monkeys ... pink flamingos ullas etc etc in itself a very good hotel but I think in my humble opinion that as we say in Argentina .. many Caciques and few Indians .... that is reflected in the weariness of the staff to feel so depressed (many employees in blue suits and few "white shirt") to such a point that they always seem to be automatons that do not challenge them for something instead of being attentive and helpful as we have normally perceived in other hotels in the same category ....
The remarkable thing was that despite so much pressure I can praise the performance and attitude of Chef Greece of the Cozumel dining room for the predisposition to whom I will be eternally grateful for his humble attention and performance when when he observed that I was sick he did not hesitate to offer us and make available to us all the hotel services ... something that many observed and did not take into account .... and that in my opinion is for the reasons stated above ....
Outside of that we had problems with the room entry card for what we had ... one night ... to stay arriving and coming to the reception (being sick) for an hour and a half until we could get our room opened ...

Excellent place, it has a longer beach than those of Riviera Maya, and the water is much calmer, zero sargassum, excellent to spend a few days, star level 4

I love. I saw some comments not so good and I arrived with low expectation. They said that there was a lot of discrimination against Mexicans but the activities are for everyone; the recervations in the specialty restaurants are somewhat complicated but I think it is more for the amount of people, however, the food in the Cozumel restaurant is very good, delicious and without so much formality; the animators always keep you running and laughing whether we are national or foreigners, the experience is excellent, beautiful beaches, so many activities that do not give time !!!, animals and vegetation everywhere, beautiful! the food is good and very varied even without going to the specialty restaurants. The shows are very funny. I would definitely go back

I recommend this hotel to the thousand, it is super beautiful and relaxing, besides it has fauna and animals outdoors.

Five star hotel but important to know that if you re looking for a quiet getaway this might not be the best location. The courtyard is noisy all day and then at night you can hear the nightclub. Great location for families as there are lots of activities going on. The staff is topnotch and super friendly. Rooms spotless. Check in was a bit slow but they brought us a refreshing welcome drink while we were waiting. They all go out of their way to make the guests happy. Beautiful jungle in the courtyard with monkeys, tortoises, and peacocks. Sandy beach and huge pool.

The animation team was amazing! They created a pleasant atmosphere (Chris, mrs flowers)

Perfect room, perfect general attention, unique fun options without a doubt to repeat.

Their worker who ran bingo discriminated against me and others when I played. Instead of saying BINGO, you had to say this long thing in Spanish which I do not speak Spanish at all but I said bingo and another lady after me said the Spanish words she won because I couldn't say their stupid Spanish words.

For that I WILL NEVER go to that resort again. Their buffets where the worse but their speciality restraunts where very good.
Waiters and waitresses work so hard so make sure you tip them they deserve it. Maid would always leave animal made out of towels on bed, loved it. Grounds are pretty, beach is huge and the wild life I loved. Monkeys do get on your balcony, i loved this.
Over all it was a great vacation until I was treated at bingo. I complained and Hector, the activity manager comes finds me on the beach the next day and the beach is PACKED with people and discussed with me about what happened. All these people heard yeah he should not be a manager and he never had Gigi apologise to me, apparently this resort doesn't care if you come back or let everyone know how they treat you. Too many other nicer resorts in mexico.

Thank you very much for the work of all the hotel staff, we had a great time. The food is delicious and plentiful the room is clean and excellent. All staff are attentive and polite. I can only recommend this hotel to everyone. We'll go next year. The hotel environment is also a wonder.

As soon as I walked in, I could tell that this place was going to be great and I wasn't wrong. The stunning nature and great food was to die for. 10 out of 10 would return in the future.

Very nice hotel Lots of vegetation The beautiful sea, the only one but there was no availability in any of the a la carte restaurants since 2 days before there was full capacity. But I still give it 5 stars. Very friendly staff
