Went to Hotel del Coronado for brunch and had an incredible experience. Their buffet had a lot of options to pick from and alcoholic beverages were included (champagne, bloody maries,... etc.) Their higher than average buffet price (usually around $90) is well justified. Their staff is incredibly friendly and they will treat you like if you were royalty. Highly recommended to bring your date for brunch here.

This is a true San Diego Landmark. The place is beautiful and I truly enjoy visiting whenever I am in Coronado. The views are very impressive specifically on the beach side of the property. Highly recommended
The iconic hotel to visit if you come to San Diego besides Lego land, balboa Park, and the wild animal park. The hotel has everything for a resort vacation: shopping, beach, food, and great weather.
Beautiful Place for weekend getaway! I thought my opinion did not matter, however, management took it very serious. Two managers calls and apologized to me personally, then invite me back for two nights stays. So I came back this May and give it another try. After our morning coffee on the veranda, my sisters and I takes long walked on the beach. Then off shopping we goes, eating at local restaurants and sleep in our beautiful cottage!.
It's such a stunning hotel. The lobby is magnificent and so are the grounds. My friend and I just walked around then hung out in the courtyard and talked. I try to go there at least a few times a year.
Meeting with a client in the hotel bar, wanted somewhere with a professional atmosphere for the meeting. Paid for the drinks in cash, tipped 20%, barman rolled his eyes and tutted. Wouldn't take clients there again.
Did not stay overnight. But enjoyed the landscape and shops. Very clean and beautiful grounds. Right on the beach. Close walking distance to Coronado shopping and restaurants.
Although I didn't stay at the Coronado, it's an undeniably impressive building. In addition to being a beautiful property to walk around, it's also perfectly situated to take in the beach. Absolutely worth checking out.
The hotel is beautiful. The staff goes out of their way to make you feel comfortable. Angel, in room service, went above and beyond as did Meredith from the pool cabanas. However, be very careful of the pool man!! The day before we left he had taken a script of mine to see if he can get it at a better price from his friend who supposedly owned a store and never returned it to me. I tried many times to call him to return it but he turned his phone off!!Security was informed of this and to this day no one from the hotel has called me back with any information regarding my stolen script.
One of my favorite places not only in coronado but in San Diego in general. Although I have not stayed the night, I plan to eventually, but the hotel is lovely either way. I love walking around the shops, personally the ocean themed toy shop is the most fun. There is ice skating by the beach during the winter, amazing history (including a possible haunting!), great looking food, an adorable diner themed ice cream shop, lovely beach access and views, great staff, lovely on the inside and outside and even an elevator attendant on occasion! I just love to walk around for fun!
We went there to eat and to have a great time around the beach and the balcony. It was an amazing experience with a lot of booze, live music, and a warm fire pit on a nice carpetted balcony with couches
Clean. Great staff. Little expensive and outdated but great location. You do have to walk a little to get to the beach but beyond that I have no complaints.
horrible. nothing special and they all rave about going there. the beach is meh.. nothing else around there, everything super pricey for no reason, other than scamming ppl because there is nothing else around there.
Great hotel overall. Amazing beach and facilities. Food and drink is a bit overpriced even for upscale hotel standards, but they don't seem to care if you byo at the pool or beach cabana areas. Service staff has been great
This historic old hotel has such a wonderful atmosphere. The beach along the Pacific Ocean is the main attraction. It has been my great fortune to have dinner by the beach several nights here. The views are fantastic. Almost as nice as Jimbaran Beach in Bali.
This is a great place to start a exploring Coronado. There is a bike rental shop nearby, a spa, and other shos that are conveniently located on the boardwalk.
Beautiful and relaxing. Great hotel with great service. The Christmas tree in the lobby is magnificent. Watching the people ice skating as well as wading in the ocean at the same time is something to see. The beds and linen are all top of the line and the rooms large. This is not a place to go if your on a budget but well worth the money.
WHEN YOU FIRST WALK INSIDE . IT LITERALLY TAKES YOUR BREATHE AWAY.. ITS SO BREATHE TAKING YOU CANT BELIEVE HOW YOU FEEL LIKE YOU ARE TRANSPORTED BACK IN TIME = DONT MISS OUT ..
Beautiful spot right by the water with multiple eateries and beach access (down a staircase). Pricey and crowded, but not unexpectedly so. Real negative was insufficient restroom access - bathrooms were very far from the restaurant patio and I had to wait on a 20 person line for access.
Hotel was beautiful, the history of it is cool. But the highlight of my stay was Andrew, the elevator operator. He remembered my name and floor every time. He has worked there for 39 years and was just such a treasure every time I talked with him. The room I was in felt like any other hotel room but Andrew made the trip feel so special.
Very beautiful hotel!! The exterior at night is lit up and provides a perfect backdrop to some very nice pictures. The interior has a very nostalgic classy feel to it and the staff is very professional. There is a beach right behind the hotel if you want to listen to the waves or view the sunrise/sunset. Very peaceful and beautiful.
This is a hotel that has become utterly complacent because it is situated in a nice location. Other than the location, there is nothing that even remotely justifies the nightly rate that Hilton charges for this property - the rooms are unclean, the amenities (except for Fitness Room) are non-existent, and the service is poor.
I thought hotels in Hawaii were expensive, but after visiting this place, I think those hotels at least try to justify their price!
Took a day trip to Coronado island. One of the things we were told to see was the hotel del Coronado. So we rented some electric bikes and cruised around the island. Our first stop was the hotel. We checked out the grounds and the beach area. The view of the ocean was great and the seemed to be a lot of people enjoying the beach. Swimming, building sand castles and just throwing the frisbee. We didn't eat but noticed they had 3 nice restaurants to choose from. We did check out the shopping down below and the epic ice cream/gelato shop. Definitely a must see while on the island.
Classic spot to visit. So much to offer. The beach, the food, the shopping, the outdoor and indoor venues. Bring your friends and folks when they visit town!
No place comes close, even during a big hotel renovation and COVID. family stayed at beach cabanas...wow! Splurge with the right peeps itll be worth it.
I love the Del. Lunch on the sundeck is one of my favorite things to do in San Diego. Great service and delicious food. The hotel is beautiful. I take all my visiting friends here.
You are paying for the location. If you don't want to hear loud pool music until 10pm make sure your room is not near it aka cabanas. There are also 1st floor cabanas under one of the bars so you hear bar tables and chairs being moved at all hours of the night. Most of the hallways feel damp and smell musty including our room. This likely is due to the age of the place and its wooden structure. If you are expecting luxury accommodations, they are significantly lacking. Light switch cracked, bath tub clogged with hair, multiple scrapes on the wall to the sheet rock, nonworking lamp, lots of bugs, if you bump the sink the sconce flickers, and all the furniture is straight out of the 70s. They are at capacity during the summer months so once you are given a room you cannot be switched. Gold status didn't help. Great buffet, but on the pricey side at $40 each. Kids 5 and under eat free. The pool is nice for families, staff was great, the food is all premade and refrigerated which was disappointing. The beach is beautiful, but the left side is rocks the middle has swimming forbidden due underwater obstacles, which I assume is a continuation of the rocks. So the area on the far right gets pretty packed with swimmers. They don't have direct connections from room phones to front desk or valet. You have to go through Del Services which we had a 50% rate of them passing our message to the valet to pull our car around. We did let our frustrations known to the manager who comped us our parking. They leave a lot to be desired.
This place is like stepping back in time into another era. It is just seeping with history and antiquity. The front desk people were awesome as were the staff around the hotel. Special acknowledgement to a member of the housekeeping staff, Teresa, she was amazing and extremely helpful. Now, I did have to take a star away because of the rudeness of one person working there in valet, Erin. She was rude to my wife, not once, but twice. She should be a behind the scenes person because customer service is not her strong point. Other than that, this hotel is a great place for families who still like the old fashioned family vacation.
The room was my husband and I stayed in had a very nice view outside! We fell in love with the location of Hotel del Coronado, Curio Collection by Hilton. The room was small tho but nevertheless, the bed was big with a flatscreen tv that we appreciated. The staff were very kind to us and made sure that we have everything that we needed during our stay. Looking forward to going back here!
Combine history with most beautiful of natural settings and you have it. There is something so calming about it that you cant help it but to relax. Great food places, pool and deck area and endless beach and ocean views. Loved it
The hotel itself is charming and worthy of its picturesque location. The staff is courteous and professional, however the valet service is unacceptable. Be prepared to wait 30-45 minutes for your car, regardless of day or time. At $50 per day, it should in no way be an inconvenience to your customers, especially those who may have occasion to depart the premises more than once per day. My recent 5-day stay was pleasant except for this aspect. Hopefully the Hilton management will implement improvements.
We love the Del. It's not 100% fully opened yet so we got daily food credits. Frank at the front desk was very helpful, he remembered our name when we saw him on a different day. Enjoyed our stay even during the Covid-19 crisis.
Gorgeous hotel with compelling historical setting and people. Worth checking out their specials because by the time you have spent $$$ on cab fare to downtown Coronado, you will have spent the same amout as staying there...our plan next time!! Fabulous service and gift shop is amazing. Be sure to look at their maintained and working turn of the century elevator...and ask about their ghost!! Such a gem to visit.
Such a beautiful hotel. The iconic Del is on the Registry of National Historic places. It's one of a kind and a place we should all appreciate and hope to stay at once in a lifetime. I really like the small homes on the beach called Beach Village. Those would be another bucket list type place to rest for a night. Don't miss your chance to see this amazing property.
The Del Coronado Hotel, or The Del is a classic experience on a warm summer s day. It is lovely to eat lunch on the veranda, with a gentle breeze blowing through your hair. Some Like It Hot , with Jack Lemmon, Tony Curtis, and Marilyn Monroe, was filmed here. This is probably my favorite beach. Certainly way up there. Check it out!
The location is great and history of the hotel is iconic. I am truly disappointed with the management and the staff. Upon arrival, the check in was not a friendly experience. I asked to be upgraded for the second and third night but I was not given the upgrade I asked for and was told I was getting. I was put in a room with construction done on the roof that was right above us. I truly don't understand why they put us in a room where construction is happening. Started 8am in the morning and was nothing but pounding all day. Lastly, I called to ask the front desk a question and I was put on hold for 8 minutes before speaking to a person. I truly wish the customer service was outstanding for such an iconic hotel. Instead of going under a major renovations, the hotel needs to go under a staff renovation to help create a positive experience. The pictures are deceiving of the rooms as well.
However, I had a pleasant experience with one of staff members waiting in line as I was given history of the hotel. Be prepared to pay extra for umbrellas and chairs!! You are allowed to bring your own chairs. Accessibility to the beach is very easy and the hotel is in walking distance to many restaurants.
