I always like this place. This time I was only there for a meet up while playing Pokemon Go on Coronado. I did not purchase or use any services from The Hotel Del. However, it is a beautiful place. The scenery is gorgeous, everything is clean, well maintained, and a safe area to be at any hour. Highly recommended for any social functions.

This hotel definitely isn't what it is hyped up to be. The service was slow and largely non-existent. Rooms were unclean and not maintained well at all. This place prides itself on its history, yet it doesn't seem like they're doing anything to ensure it remains in good condition for many years to come. My family and I originally planned to stay for a few nights, but everything was so horrible we decided to cancel the remainder of our stay and moved to a hotel downtown.

Beautiful, historic hotel that is definitely worth a visit while in San Diego. Even if you don't stay overnight you should walk through the lobby, check out the gift shop, and hang by the beach.

I've been here a couple times with family and have always had a lovely experience. Hotel del Coronado is gorgeous and Coronado Beach is by far my favorite beach in Cali. This is a pre-COVID review as my last visit was last summer, but can't wait to visit again soon.

Just passing by. The location is great, easy to find. Coronado city/island is a beautiful place and a must visit. The hotel is located on the beach, with plenty of beach front. The hotel also has a restaurant and bar located near beach with a beach view. Definitely planning on booking a room their soon!

This is the most beautiful old hotel you will ever see, and even if you dont have a room, they welcome sightseers. Park over near the shops and walk, they view and the beach are nice, but the inside of this hotel is well worth the walk, and the time. Go see it, you wont be sorry, and maybe even get a room there. I already had one , or I would have stayed here

This is one of my favorite hotels in the country. The weather is perfect and the beach is amazing. The Victorian building is 130 years ago, so if you are expecting a modern, new hotel -- this is not for you. But if you like character, charm, and history, you'll love the Del.

A good experience, right in the beach in Coronado, but probably not the best value for money. This is (1) a "family destination" and (2) a convention hotel, so don't expect a quiet romantic hide-away. At times the hotel can be quite crowded. Opened in 1888, the Del Coronado is one of the few remaining places with its design. It is a California icon. Everyone should go at least once.

I m a little torn here, of course this hotel is iconic and the location is simply amazing. But it is very expensive, too expensive. I felt like the room and overall experience did not live up to the exorbitant room rate.

We went down to the Eno Pizzeria at the hotel. It was wonderful food. Great atmosphere, and would love to come down to stay at the hotel as well sometime. One of the best beaches in San Diego as well.

Very run down hotel with extremely overpriced rooms. This hotel lives on its history and location. But you can tell that they don't care about keeping their hotel and the rooms in good shape. I travel all over the world and I often stay at luxury hotels so I am able to compare quality/price ratio. I would not be willing to pay more than 100-150USD per night. But here you pay 500+USD. Its a sad joke.
Rooms are a bit smelly, feels like they have not been renovated for the last 20years, slow wifi, poor sound insulation (I heard my neigbour snooring), dented walls and furniture. Breakfast is not included (cost 45 usd) and is a very limited and low quality compared to what I am used to in Europe and Asia. If you want a luxury hotel with fresh clean rooms and good service-go somewhere else.

For a day at the beach in San Diego, Hotel del Coronado is hard to beat. I am always looking for a cool drink and some shade if I'm visiting the beach. Hotel del offers this and much more, and they do it with style. The umbrella and chair situation is a Gatsby-like experience that's not to be missed. Classy place, great staff, awesome setting. Bring the familyand pay the extra cash for the lounge chairs closer to the property, it's worth every penny.

Nice hotel. Really cool place to stop in. I think its the second largest wooden structure (hotel) in america or something like that. Lots of cool woodwork. Beach is nice. Had a ton of fun. Somethings were really expensive.

This collection has some really beautiful pieces. I was amazed at the history and expression, the detail was exquisite. The patio was breathtaking and surrounded by such joy and craftsmanship. The del is certainly a spot for brunch, shopping, amazing views and some of the best customer service I have ever received. Well done to the entire team, especially Dakota for her bright personality and warm smile.

Me and my family stayed last weekend for 3 nights and all i have to say is, "Great customer service!" I have stayed at a lot of hotels, mostly 4 and 5 star, and this was the best customer service I have ever had. Everyone was so happy and accommodating. All the employee's seemed to really enjoy their job and where they are working. I am a business owner and we strive for excellence and good company moral; Hotel Del Coronado has definitely achieved that. I will definitely be staying there again and will highly recommend this place to all of my family and friends. We had a great time, their beach was immaculate, food was delicious, and I just can't say enough about the service. Thank you hotel Coronado for a great long weekend.

This place is absolutely beautiful! The hotel itself is regal, but at the same time creepy like The Shining hotel. The gardens surrounding the hotel are healthy and beautiful. The views are so nice. The shops underneath the hotel are also very upscale and quality.

It has one of the best beach in world. Also Hotel Coronado is oldest hotel in USA and one of a kind of biggest wooden architecture hotel in whole world. It still represents classic american theme.

Spending two nights here with girlfriends for our yearly trip to San Diego. The resort is huge and has some incredible history. The rooms are nice, the pool area is great. Really enjoyed hanging out at the pool and it's adjacent to the beach. The ice machines were not available at all times... Tried two different ones. Housekeeping staff were really friendly and did a great job. Parking is valet only and quite pricey. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby within walking distance.

I didn't stay at the hotel but I walked around it and visited the shops. I ate ice cream and visited the beach and got a drink. This was my first time in Coronado and I had an excellent time. The accommodations were gorgeous and the beach was crowded but amazing

My wife and I are San Diego locals, but we never miss an opportunity to visit the Del. It's just a magnificent hotel with a robust history. My wife stayed there when she was younger and I believe it's one of her fondest memories. Would love to stay there myself if given the chance, but just admiring it's wonderful architecture and visiting all the little boutique shops on the property has been a pleasure in itself. Would definitely recommend to all who visit our wonderful city.

25th anniversary trip and wanted the "very best". It did not deliver and left feeling completely underwhelmed. Front desk staff not helpful, adult pool overrun with loud drunks and no security in site with doors for guests only routinely left open. Get more for your money and go elsewhere.

The property is in very badd disrepair and to sum it up it's really just a dump. We were in a suite which cost $800 per night and it was one of the worst rooms I have been in. The view is good and that was the saving grace that we were at the ocean but that was about it. The taco shack was good the gym was adequately equipped although dirty and in need of maintenance. We also ate in the one main restaurant which name I can't remember because it was so bad an overpriced. Anyway it's a historic hotel and something to go and see but I will never stay there again unless they do a major overhaul from top to bottom it's pretty bad.

Amazing breakfast buffet at Sheerwater restaurant with my family. We toured the grounds, shopped, and thoroughly enjoyed seeing this spectacular landmark. The staff were very friendly and professional.

Stayed here for a conference. The room was disappointing. The beds and pillows were terrible. It was incredibly noisy we could here every sound from the courtyard (that's where our room faced). Especially at night when staff were changing the set ups for different events. Also the bathroom was super tiny and it was difficult to get ready in the morning.

The food and everything that was horribly over priced thankfully there was a Walgreens down the street that saved us.

The only thing we enjoyed was the beautiful beach and the view which adjoined the free public beach so you don't even need to stay there to enjoy the view.

Overall I'm thankful I'm not the one who paid for the trip. I think it is over hyped for be being historic and you'd be better off staying somewhere else for much cheaper.

Lovely Victorian hotel, with layers of tradition. Great holiday lights and decorations. Old elevator with operator. It is, however, so money focused as to detract from the experience. $180 to sit at a table near the ice rink for an hour... $50 for parking, etc. Also, there is currently major construction going on, so we didn't have a view from the room.

My stay here was nice. The island is really beautiful and so it the hotel. I really liked that its literally right next to/on Coronado beach (which is the nicest beach in San Diego in my opinion). The room was a little small and outdated though, would love to see what this place could look like after a remodel.
