Cool place to visit for an hour or so. Good beach and surroundings.
Restaurant is totally fab. Epic service. World class cuisine.
I wish we stayed just a lil longer ....the views, the food, the service are all 5 stars....
The buffet should have more entree options but the physical hotel is beautiful
Just went to look at the architecture. It was very nice and had a historic feel. Shops were very upscale. We spent a lot of time at the beach and saw some dolphins.
I've been here several times for both lunch/dinner and overnight stay. The staff is always amazingly accommodating and will do anything to make your visit unforgettable. Visited recently to bring some friends from out of town. The valets were very friendly and helpful and the entire experience will make you feel like royals. The hospitality manager is the nicest person on earth. I highly recommend this place. The hotel is also very kid-friendly.
A delight for sure!!! A tucked away paradise. You walk back in time as you walk the corridors and use the grand staircases. Historically speaking, one of the magnificent hotels in the US. I went to a wedding here years back and it was incredible. The views of the ocean were memorizing. The setting was spectacular. Peaceful place from the late 1800s. Good food. Good service. This place is an architectural masterpiece. Grand, palatial, comfortable, old world charm and filled with people from around the globe. The workers make everyone feel special. I recommend this place for travels to southern CA. Also, if you can afford the amenities, then hold an event here. Years back, this hotel had a great tennis facility but no more. Oh well, replaced by condos. Super beach, great pool and much to do. Get ready. It is wonderful. Don't miss this place!!!! It's a secret treasure in the San Diego area. Glamorous.
AMAZING! Visted for Christmas celebrations and the place was decked out with holiday cheer! Lights, music, food, even ice skating!
This place is historic and the people are friendly.
Beautiful place but not at all relaxing. It has turned into a huge tourist trap and I don't ever need to go again. Overpriced, crowded and really not that interesting.
Great brunch but service was a bit slow on the drinks. Had good welection and delicious food.
There's one word to describe this place, and it's "SLOW". We came in a little earlier, and the front desk said they'll text us when the room is ready. They never did.
While we were waiting, we went to get some food at a food truck operated by the hotel, and it took them over an hour to bring out a salad and cold sandwich.
The Hilton app then stated that we should go back to the front desk to get our keys. We were met with a long line, and even though they had separate markers for Diamond members, there was no expedited line or service. Everyone was stuck together in one slow line.
When we finally got to the reception desk, it took another 20 minutes for the receptionist to find out if our room was ready at check in time.
It's a beautiful property at a beautiful location, but it's too bad this hotel is poorly managed with all around SLOW service.
We went to a Marine Corp Ball and the place is just beautiful!! The hotel was built in the 1800s and still maintains its charm :) I loved the classic feel to the building and their gift shops too! They also have an old elevator with the shutter things that has to be manned but it is in perfect condition!!!! It was SO cool!! Their Christmas decorations were also spectacular and the whole experience made me feel like I was in a Christmas movie!
The hotel is what defines the island. Even if you're not staying there, you can go to it for food, drinks, and shopping. There's a very nice wide beach that's good for lying on too. However, there are a lot of stingrays in the water, and the lifeguards often have to tell everyone to get out because too many people are stepping on them. If you really feel the desire to go in the water, make sure that you do the stingray shuffle.
I'll start by saying the hotel and beach are absolutely beautiful. Incredibly picturesque and beautiful, it's truly a joy to spend time in that environment. That said, one gains little by staying as a guest. We arrived at 11am and though they allegedly requested housekeeping clean the room earlier, we were not able to check-in until 3:30pm nor would they grant a later checkout. To pay so much and not even get a full day out of it is rather disappointing. I stayed in a Victorian king room and while it was nice, it wasn't anything special and certainly wouldn't warrant the high cost. The included breakfast as a Hilton Elite was pretty bare bones and the upgrade was not worth $20/person extra. The hotel is iconic and yet they nickel and dime you for everything. You can't see the meeting rooms or parts of the hotel without paying $40 for a tour. My suggestion would be to stay elsewhere on Coronado or San Diego and spend the day hanging around the Del.
The ambiance is second to none, absolutely gorgeous at Christmas time, it's a must-see. The service is definitely 4 stars, especially the front desk and valet. Wide variety of restaurants to eat and drink from. Story Bar serves good cocktails(just not prohibition style) and is a fave during the Winter while Sundeck bar is my favorite in the Winter. Sheerwater was quite good, coffee wasn't great but definitely 4 stars. Nice, convenient shops too but are more for tourists. We had a Victorian style room with a partial ocean view which was quaint, boutique-y, and unique but I'd definitely recommend splurging a little extra for full ocean view. In room only has complimentary coffee, NOT Nespresso though. Pillows are very soft and bed has an extra comfy layer. The only reason I'm rating 3 stars is because the entire experience left me feeling like it was just an overpriced tourist trap and not a luxury resort, and I'm a diamond member! I feel like Hilton didn't fully deliver on the brand promise of Curio and the Hotel Del.
Very posh area, scenic and happening place. Lots of people..worth for little high price.
Old guard... Great beach and lots of fun bars.. Bring your $$$!
Excellent staff. Beautiful vistas and ambiance. Will return for sure
We didn't stay there, but the beach is very nice. We walked through the the lobby and it was pretty cool. Seemed like a nice place to stay.
Great place. Busy, busy place, very well maintained. Gorgeous views.
Parking is a pain. Lobby has too many tourists for site seeing. Otherwise it will be 4 stars.
Clean, classy establishment. Just had drink there, but one day I hope to stay.
Beautiful American Iconic property. Needs to be taken better care of. Sad to see tacky fake retro furnishings replace the Victorian ones.
Good place for guests to take rest and enjoy beach.
Felt claustrophobic..I understand an old hotel...and was very excited to stay in an older historic place but as a 5'4 woman ...an having an upgraded room..I should not be able to touch the ceiling...very disapponeted..and hot..not in a goodway.....the bed almost made me go to hospital.
Center of tourist attraction. Nice that it's by the beach but I'm not sure if I like all the traffic.
Beautiful hotel right on the beach but didn't actually stay overnight there
It's a great hotel on the beach. The ambiance is great and can enjoy the great view.
Polo match at the dell lol. Waded in the tidepools.
Old and classic hotel to explore if you are just to see the interior and exterior.
A must-see sight in San Diego. The hotel area is big and welcomes also visitors that don't stay over night. It's right at the beach and has restaurants, shops and an outdoor ice skating rink during Christmas season.
I walked through the grounds on my way to the beach. It's a beautiful historic building with lovely grounds, lots if bird-of-paradise. And the beach was fantastic: clean sand, not too crowded.
Classy, but still somewhat crowded. Wonderful brunch, but you're still a number. Despite this, I'd go back and spend the same, top dollar for the scenery.
I loved walking around the grounds and the beach at the Del. Everyone was so friendly, locale also and staff! So beautiful.
Went and visited the place. Not sure what you get for all the high prices. It is a beautiful historic place, and we had fun walking around the place. No idea why someone would want to stay there.
The remodeling is bringing the old with the new.
Looking forward to the final look.
Great place for honeymoon or wedding party. Love the beach there, lobby look luxurious
Nice place to stay. It's a historic hotel with a nice beach front where you can chill and relax.
Recently flooded some of the downstairs shops, but that's not why you're here.
Service was excellent. They accommodated a large group of us for a company luncheon. Wait staff was attentive and met all our needs. Food was pretty good but some items seemed overpriced.
Fantastic place to watch the sunset. Great staff and facilities, very good cocktails. But massively crowded and dominated by weddings.
Beautiful beach and outdoor area but hotel is crowded, room was dingy with dirty carpet and perking wallpaper. And for $450 a night we got a room directly next to a giant bank of whiting air conditioners and the wall of the building next door. I knew we hadn't booked an ocean view but that was pretty ridiculous. Rather stay at the Grand del Mar or Auberge.
Great aesthetic and look. But if you aren't a paying guest, the hotel just does not care about you. Enjoyable, but leaves a bitter taste.
I stayed here before and loved it which is why I came back this weekend. But, the construction does put a dent on the beauty of the hotel, atmosphere, and your sleep. If you dont mind spending a little extra do not stay in the ocean towers (very close to construction) and stay in the main hotel. Other than that the ocean is beautiful the hotel is clean and everything is close by. I will return after construction is complete.
Simply one of the best hotels and locales in the USA!
we toured the hotel while we were visiting the island for the weekend. it is a beautiful and historic hotel (not to mention expensive to stay there!) and well worth the visit. it is a great place to have a drink and they do have some nice shops to peruse.
Don't see the attraction. Rooms were not clean. Expect "big resort" service.
Great, historic hotel right on the sand. The rooms are nice and clean and there are some great restaurants here as well. I always have a great time when I visit.
Beautiful historic hotel. It smells old when you go in but I understand they are renovating. Very expensive to have drinks here but service is impeccable. Planning to go back after they renovate.
I took a tour of this hotel when I was planning my wedding - great to be in some of the historic rooms and see the amazing restaurants. I didn't choose this location, but came back and ate on the veranda and enjoyed the sunset. Amazingly peaceful and relaxing.
The Hotel Del is always really nice and a great place to visit. Hotel parking is really expensive unless you buy drinks and stuff.
A grand place to stay. In the middle of renovations. The property will only be better.
Hotel Del is an architectural work of art! Make sure to check out the handmade ice cream shop!
Beautiful landmark...busy with tourists! Brunch in Crown Room superb, with impeccable service. All staff friendly... not stuffy at all!
Went to Hotel del Coronado for light stroll along the beach. Stopped by the ice cream parlor for a cone. It was delicious. The bakery/coffee bar had a pricey menu.
Beautiful, luxurious, right on the ocean. Calm, private, great for relaxing or a launching pad for sports and activities. Wonderful to walk, bike and dine around the town of Coronado.
Very pretty hotel. Nice gift shop. Clean beach. Nice hotel rooms and service.
Good place, with fair price, located close to water
Beautiful hotel on a breathtaking island! Come to enjoy the beautiful Cali sun and sand with relaxing beach.
It was really nice. Right on the beach and really beautiful. The staff was great. Took a star because food was....not great. It was a work event, so everything was free, so wasn't a huge deal for me
Beautiful hotel with a lot of history, beautiful beach. However the hotel is very expensive, drinks and dinner will cost you!
Wanted a gelato it was 10 am people everywhere the ice cream shop was fully stocked didn't open till 12 that didn't make any sense to me your loss Hotel Del
Love this place. The surviving old elements add a lot of charm. Even the uneven flooring. The pool is really nice and it's next to the prettiest beach I've seen.
Beautiful surrounding area, with a wide variety of rooms available, from Victorian to modern.
This is a great spot to watch the sunset and enjoy some fine food!
Beautiful venue. I haven't stayed in it but even observing it from outside is very nice!
Authentic food, perfect ambience tucked away from the main street, perfect cozy place for ANY meal
It's a really nice hotel, with excellent customer service.
4/7/19. The hotel is in the midst of a HUGE renovation, which we had no knowledge of prior to booking. Realistically, they should have closed the hotel and re-opened when they completed the renovations. Instead, unsuspecting guests have been subject to a hotel experience at a landmark which is a mere shadow of its former seif. My humble opinion, call before you go! Consider the other options available in SB before staying here.
Really Beautiful hotel. There are shops to stroll through that uniquely go under the hotel. You'll find a lot of interesting history while exploring. Beautiful views. Taking a stroll on the beach is a must.
I wish i could give negative 5 stars. As a Hilton Honors member for almost a decade I was completely disappointed with this hotel. Either i was unlucky with my stay this first week of June 2019 or the West Coast standards are very different from the East Coast. A complete shame that they are allowed to carry the Hilton name. From fire alarms going off at the wee hours of the night and front desk being clueless, to pipes bursting and no hot water, to no water whatsoever coming out of the shower, to hair in the bathroom floor as we checked in, to taking them 1hr and 45 mins to clean a room to move us to....no management onsite before 9am, our 4 nights stay was a complete joke. Thankfully the Hilton Honors team displayed the sense of urgency and care this hotel staff so much lacks. Will never stay here again, even if its a free stay. hilton by the convention center or the gaslamp quarter hilton will be our choices next time. Absolute disappointment. If anyone think this a great hotel, they should stay at Casa Marina in Key West and see what great looks like, and what the Hilton brand is all about.
Great, relaxing place close to lots of restaurants. Exquisite woodwork! Good gym!
Excellent place to escape....ice smoking deck...nice..deck...
Beautiful place! Everything is more expensive than my price range, but it is a nice place to walk through and had a nice beach with great sand. Very family friendly. You can even see some tide pools during part of the day.
Very nice. The bar down on the boardwalk is a must for people watching. Try the night tour. A little pricey but its worth going once for sure
Great history. Beautiful hotel. Friendly staff. Wonderful beach
Beautiful architecture and area. Next to the beach, they install an ice rink in the winter. Parking is expensive, but it is Coronado so it's not unexpected
The beach is great and easy access to food and restrooms.. great place to go visit with family for a nice day at the beach..
Very nice experience, and a great place to visit if you are in town.
I had a truly delightful stay. The staff were welcoming and very courteous. The hotel suite was clean and beautifully decorated- very cozy and charming. The bed was comfy, the views were gorgeous. I can't wait to stay there again :)
