Went for a business meeting to discuss a future venture when i retire, the place is a little more upscale than I am accustomed to, being that I'm in the military, but the wait staff and servers went out of their way to make the environment more comfortable and calming to my nerves.

Historic hotel desperately in need of a complete remodel. Room was just OK, in the original building. Carpet wrinkled, furniture worn, and fixtures obviously aged. For the price, the resort offerings are subpar and overpriced. Food at restaurants is mediocre, but the breafast brunch at Sheerwater is very nice.

I stay up the street from the Hotel. It has changed hands several times over the last 20years. It's a beautiful place. Everything one needs from massages, restaurants, cafe's, swimming pools, beach views, beach swimming, movies on the beach and shopping. It's very clean with a peaceful vibe.

The Hotel Del Coronado is an icon, and Hilton is doing a fabulous job in maintaining its legacy. The property is pristine and service impeccable. My main comment has to do with the current construction on property, it was exceptionally loud - sunrise until sunset. My attempt to nap during one of my days was thwarted thanks to the constant sounds of construction happening right outside my window. I know construction is temporary, and necessary towards expansion and progress, it just can't be ignored how it negatively impacted such a bright, airy, laid-back beach resort. As an aside, I attended for a business function, and the resort banquet service was maybe the best I've had at any resort, worldwide. It's just a shame that my timing put me right in the middle a construction site.

I love this beach. You can walk the hotel grounds without being a guest of the hotel and its so fun to explore all the shops and maybe pick up a thing or two! Then head to the beach for relaxing sunbathing time on a wide stretch of sand, you don't have to be close to anyone unless you want to! I'm a "new" local and still go here all the time.

This hotel is a joke. Me and my boyfriend couldn t check in to our room until 7pm (waited 4 hours). We paid for a ocean view room over $600 a night and there was so much construction going on less then 20 feet from our view. So incredible loud and would start at 6:30am. A fight broke out at the bar down stairs with children there and at least 5 cops came. Ruined the entire night. No one came up and asked if we were okay or even apologized. The service here is a joke. We called to talk to a manager and was on hold for over 15 minutes then was told the manger wasn t available so we went to talk to them in person. Still no manager was available. Christina was so rude at the front desk and was no help at all. And STILL no call from the manager. We will never be returning to this hotel again. For the price of this hotel....don t waste your money. Go anywhere but here.

Beautiful place to stay. The beach is pretty. The grounds are so pleasurable to stroll around at. Nice pool. Cool shops under the hotel. The bar at night sometimes has music and is a friendly atmosphere. I enjoy night walks around here. The paths are lit and you can hear the ocean and it is calming. Safe place and clean rooms. Old school rooms, but that s the vibe. Just try to imagine Jack, Tony, and Marilyn staying here over 50 years ago. Don t forget to walk into Coronado and stop at McP s.

This hotel is a solid meh. Super overpriced, even for a Gold member, for $750 a night we got a room in the Ocean Towers. It has decent views except for the huge palm tree blocking most of the view of the beach. When we arrived we had already mentioned this was our first stop on our honeymoon. We got into our room after lugging all our suitcases across the resort grounds since there was no bellhop and there was absolutely no mention of us being on our honeymoon. Not to mention, they didn t give us any tissues at all and we had to call and request them. The hotel is nice on the outside but up close it s dated and a little dirty looking. It s okay but I really think this hotel is relying on its past reputation instead of working on its customer service now especially with the pricing.

One of our favorite place to take out of town guests for a stroll, drinks or a meal. But recently we haven't been as thrilled. Our favorite little shops / boutiques have renovated and down-sized their inventory making them much less interesting. Times must be tough because we have also noticed that the flower display in the lobby is no longer impressive. It's kind of sad seeing these changes and wondering if business is down.

After Hilton finishes their restoration / repairs, this will be the best spot in Coronado! It s kind of a mess right now with the construction, but still worth it. Warning: currently valet ONLY. We enjoyed walking out the door and immediately being on the walkway / beach. There are plenty of food options within the hotel area (tend to be pricier) and way more to walk to. San Diego is just a quick jaunt back over the bridge, with quick access to everything downtown. Loved it, would love to come back.

By far my favorite brunch in San Diego. Fantastic historic hotel. Best resort setting in San Diego. Even if you can't stay here, come for a visit and walk through the grounds or beach at least, enjoy their restaurants or shops.

There's really not enough good things to say about this hotel. Yes it is expensive but you get what you pay for. Great staff, fantastic food, and an amazing location that really is unforgettable. Sunday brunch there is an experience that will last a lifetime too! You can text requests to the hotel just as easy as calling them which is really cool. The ballroom, the crown room, heck any room is very classy and memorable. If you're going to San Diego and looking for a real treat the Hotel Del is the way to go!

We did not stay at the hotel we just came over for the day and I was actually pretty disappointed with the way everything is kept up. When you first walk into the lobby everything is so dark that you really can't even see the detail in all of the wood. And the rest of the building just looks like it has 20 coats of paint on it. This place definitely needs some updating.

The outside of the hotel is pretty but the Hotel and several surround streets are under renovation so limited access throughout hotel but room rates are still charged full price. I booked far enough in advance that I don't believe I was notified of this but I may have overlooked any warning. Limited amenities with COVID restrictions but that is somewhat understandable. I would advise reservations for EVERYTHING if you stay here otherwise you will likely find that there may be not room to serve or seat you at the restaurants or pools. The rooms are generally lacking but may be because it is a "historic hotel." The beach is amazing and deserving of stars for that alone but you can access without staying at the hotel. I wouldn't stay here again myself but would recommend the beaches in Coronado be visited

This is one of my favorite hotels anywhere! It is iconic and beautiful and the sand is so soft! I love the history and the fact it is old and infused with glamorous creative energy of days gone by.

Tons of construction going on... making it hard to socially distance. Only one pool open, was unable to get a chair at the pool because it was so crowded. Only one overpriced restaurant and a couple of food trucks open. Really crowded. Our room was really outdated.

Met some friends here after I asked the love of my life to marry me. The place was beautiful and not very crowded. We took some engagement photos as well, and ate at the bar. I have also been here when my company hosted two events. Both times were pleasant experiences.

I loved it! It is a very clean and elegant hotel. During Christmas there is an ice skate ring and everything is decorated for Christmas.
The shops are downstairs, a little expensive but the candy store worth every dollar!
Dogs friendly :)
Starbucks is inside as well

It's not cheap, but it's worth it! Stay in the Victorian building and if you can get the ocean view, do it. If you're a San Diego native, it's probably the best "date night" location in town. If you're from out of town, just beware that Coronado is across the bay from the city and you will need to go over the bridge to go visit the San Diego attractions.

Attended a wedding here. It's a beautiful venue with polite, attentive staff and a variety of amenities. Coronado island is a beautiful location with many shops and eateries near the hotel.

The good: The hotel is cool. Location is great. The history.

The bad: Had problems getting hot water. Halls smelled like cigarettes. Had to use earplugs to sleep.

The ugly: Reception seems to be under the impression that everything outside the realm of checking people in is not their responsibility. All questions got directed else where and when I had a dispute on my bill the guy snickered and said that I should expect it as par for the course at "The Del". I left early and skipped the beach and buffet because I was so angered. Customer service is everything. Move on because there's better choice a mile in either direction.

I took my mother for her 93rd birthday to the Del and we had a joyous time. From the moment we arrived at valet parking to the wonderful surprises we received (I am not going to spoil it for anyone) the atmosphere, warm and welcoming staff and fantastic food made us decide that coming to the Del on mom's birthday will be our newest tradition. Thank you for a great experience.

Weekday was wonderful. Cooler by the ocean... on the beach. Great cocktails and snacks. Salt water pool. Weekends a bit like a zoo with non guest outsiders wandering like a tourist spot. This hotel would be the best in the world if the building was keyed and guest entry only.

For years I've gone there during the Christmas holidays to see the lights lining the building, gorgeous trees and decorations inside, skating rink out back and shops in the lower level. It really puts you in the holiday spirit!!

Just here for a beach party and a tour. This place is dripping with history and charm. The staff are extremely professional and the hotel has maintained its original look and feel.

If you re either in the area or even if you re staying at the property, I highly recommend going on the 30 minute tour.

Hotel is old and tired and in chronic need of some renovation. There is 1 elevator that services the entire hotel. Yes... just 1! They are currently doing heavy construction to add extra rooms and a pool and their crews start working at 7am so you better be prepared to have an early morning when you stay here. Stay clear of this place!

Vacationer beware: the construction is beyond obnoxious. Demo saws and tractors and Jack hammors fired up daily at 7am on the dot. It's everywhere on the property. If you are expecting ab expensive, hard earned, quiet and relaxing vacation, this is not the place. We planned 4 nights, leaving after 2, should have left after one.

The biggest problem with this is that hundreds of people here planned this special vacation months ago, with no warning or notice that this was to be going on. That is very dishonest business practice. We have spoke to other guests, everyone feels the same way.

Shame on you Hilton. You could have planned your renovation in a way that didn't completely aggravate your guests. The rest of our vacation will be at a non-Hilton property.

Beautiful hotel located on a beautiful beach. Service is personal and friendly. Beautiful pool, great Gym, and lots of history. Make sure you check out the shops and get a scoop of ice cream! Fun for everyone. Happy shell hunting.

Great, superb location. Rooms not too comfortable. Food is horrible and extremely expensive (eat somewhere else). The sports bar, where a beer costs $15, have old, burn out plasma TVs that are a shame for the prices. The breakfast is good though.

Love the Del. Come throughout the year but make a point to come to see the tree. This year came twice, during the day and then at night. Something to see, experience either time. Love the history behind it. Love looking at giftshop up top, though typically I don't buy. Once in awhile I might. They really have done up the outside skating area.

Walking on the grounds brought back a flood of memories. I was stationed at NAS North Island in 1970 and lived near the Del. My wife and I would visit often. We would also walk the beach poking for shells. There were many then.
The grounds of the Del are beautiful and soothing. Watching the falcon doing his job as the Guardian of the rooftops was a plus.
