Over priced. You pay a good sum of money to get in and then lots of activities cost extra. Poorly sign posted. Kids play equipment is old and worn out to the point of being dangerous with screws sticking out etc. Disappointing.

The first time we came was 3 and a half years ago and had our first proper date by being zoo keepers for half a day. I can't recommend this enough! For Valentines Day this year my partner bought us the bintarong experience which was amazing again. Our host Aaron (so sorry if that's wrong) was so knowledgeable about all the animals and clearly loves the job and his animals. We got to feed a raccoon and raccoon dogs and then the bintarongs. And after our experience we got to wonder round the rest of the facilities. We managed to meet a boa constrictor in the activity yard too. Always have an amazing time here and will definitely be back for another experience.

Hoo was is kept clean and tidy. Very well presented. They take on a lot of "unloved" animals and provide them a better quality of life. All the animals looked like they were in capable hands while we were there. Remember to bring your own food as there's no shops nearby and you'll pay a little more for their stuff.

Had an awesome day at Hoo farm having booked the 'Carnivore Combo' experience. Devon, our guide was very welcoming, friendly and informative and made our visit memorable on top of the amazing animals we encountered. Highly recommend anyone interested to book.

Spent a fantastic day with my daughter. Staff are friendly and there's a great selection of animals. It's great being able to get close to many of them. Gary was great in his explanation about snakes and answered loads of questions my daughter (and I had). Loved the place and will definitely visit again.

The wildlife here is cared for by people that love what they do, and it really does show.

The experience is way beyond what one might expect from a zoo. The ethos of giving visitors an almost one on one experience with the creatures, really does make it a very memorable and personal adventure. I wholeheartedly recommend it for anyone that has a genuine interest to meet these animals in the flesh, and make a connection with those creatures.

I will never forget the fear, awe and respect combined, of holding a huge owl that could, if it wanted to, could probably kill me in seconds... But it didn't... It stood perched peacefully on my arm, on a glove, it's huge crystal clear eyes, staring into my thoughts with a serenity that had no equal.

There is much to experience and learn. A bargain at any price, but actually very good value. My one star deduction is only to express two issues. 1. Not enough seating areas across the site. My feet were killing me. 2. A little better quality and variety of hot food (especially considering how it was priced), would be very welcomed by visitors who I think would then be happier to spend monies in the shop.

We loved this zoo. It is great to see the little noticeboards with info on where to see the animals themselves. This meant that we didn't see a single 'empty' enclosure. Add the carnivore experience with Aaron and your day could not get better!

Overpriced. Animals looked miserable. Focus is on sellikg junk food and gimicky stuff not on the animals. Not worth the money. Woman selling tickets was moaning loudly about other customers while we were waiting to pay.

Lots of fantastic animals and lots for my twin sons and wife to see and do. Only negative point is the cost of the food and the near cold chips which were served from the Coffee shop. Overall, I would definitely rate this as a place to visit over and over again. Excellent.

Lots to see, but not convinced some of the animals are as well cared-for as they should be.
*One of the sheep wanted to eat but couldn't.
*The Cockatoos & some of the other birds, have nothing to do.
*The reindeer looked horrendously thin, even taking into account the fact he was moulting.
Some of the enclosures looked a bit run down & grubby, & the place seemed short-staffed. However, staff were pleasant & helpful.
Probably wouldn't go again, because of the animal welfare issues.

Had a carnivore combo animal experience here and loved every minute of it!
Only gave 4 stars as some of the facilities could be better, e.g signposting, clean, eating areas spread over the farm.
The animal staff are super friendly and happy to answer any questions you have.

This was a really good day out, the only problem is that it's not really built for disabled people i.e.loose gravel to push wheelchair through and the disabled toilet is not really suited for disabled people.

Lovely place with a wide variety of animals, which appear well looked after. Lots of animals can be petted & there are some which are in free-roaming enclosures, which you can walk through. Not very farm like, more like a wildlife sanctuary. The choice of food disappointing - very unhealthy; the children had lunch boxes with a sandwich, crisps & chocolate - it would have been nice to be able to substitute the chocolate for fruit... The only toilets are right by the entrance, which is not great when you have small children & you're at the opposite end of the farm!

I had a really amazing time at Hoo Farm. It's got a really impressive range of exotic animals, particularly for quite a small site.

I would definitely recommend getting a couple bags of feed at the start, to feed the animals with, especially if you have small children.

A very friendly and open place, with lots of talks throughout the day, and interactive elements. Perfect for spending a few hours doing something a bit different and making memories!

Awful for manual wheelchair users, the loose brick pathways damaged my wheelchair, and jolted me about totally spoiling my day.
The animals were OK but not many of them and the whole place looked tired and unkempt. The guy that did the animal talks was pleasant enough but it seemed a snippet of information and then allowed to stroke the animal and that was it... After going to two of them we decided not to bother with the other 'talks'.
Someone had nailed, 2+inch nails through an outdoor sign into the wall of the amphibian building leaving 2 inches of nails all on the interior wall. Both my 8 year old son and my partner got injured by these nails. We reported it to two female workers but over two hours later the nails were still there. Spoke to the manager and she was very abrupt forcing us to go to first aid (even though it has been over two hours and I had already treated them) the manager showed severe anxiety issues and was very abrupt when I was trying to explain what had happened almost to the point of telling me off!!! By the time we left the nails were still there!

Wouldn't recommend or revisit.
With a few changes this place could be so much more.

I FIND THE RESPONSE FROM THE OWNER INACCURATE. THE LADIES WE REPORTED THE NAILS TO WERE WEARING THE UNIFORM TSHIRTS AND SHOULD HAVE REPORTED THE NAILS WITH NO EXCEPTIONS. THE NAILS WERE STILL THERE AND DANGEROUS AS WE CHECKED JUST BEFORE WE LEFT. THE LADY IN THE FRONT OFFICE WAS GRUMPY AND VERY RUDE AND ANXIOUS WHICH SHOULD BE ADDRESSED AS SHE STATED SHE WAS THE MANAGER... I AM SORRY FOR HER DEPRESSION WHICH I ALSO SUFFER BUT SHE SHOULDN'T BE DEALING WITH PUBLIC INCLUDING YOUNG CHILDREN IF SHE PRESENTS LIKE THAT.
YOUR RESPONSE WAS VERY RUDE.

ONE LITTLE GIRL GOT BADLY SCRATCHED IN THE FACE BY YOUR PET CATS THAT ROAM FREELY AROUND THE SITE. . SHE WAS TOLD BY YOUR MANAGER THAT SHE SHOULDN'T HAVE STROKED IT! DISGUSTING.

YOU WERE NOT IN THE OVERPRICED SHOP WHEN WE LEFT AS ONLY THE DEPRESSED MANAGER WAS THERE! AND I HAVE PHOTOS TO PROVE IT! WHY LIE?

IT WAS AN EXPENSIVE RUBBISH DAY OUT. I ADVISE OTHER DISABLED PEOPLE (AS DISABLED ACCESS AND TOILETS ARE SHOCKING!!) AND FAMILY'S TO AVOID AND I WILL BE REVIEWING HOO FARM ON OTHER SITES TOO TO MAKE PEOPLE AWARE OF THESE ISSUES.

IF THE OWNERS CANT TAKE CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM ON HOW TO IMPROVE... ESPECIALLY SAFETY MEASURES THEN THEY SHOULDN'T BE RUNNING A BUSINESS!

OH.MY.GOD!!! My partner and I love animals and have visted most of the zoos/farms/wildlife parks in the area, big hitters like Dudley and Chester, this experience whooped their butts. I know they have very different animals but the enclosures, enrichment and educational experience was excellent. When you see real love and care for animal welfare rather than just rinsing customers of cash it make the whole experience so much more than just a day out. This little gem smashes some of the more famous animal experiences outta the park! And if you're a Harry Potter fan, I'd highly recommend the owl enclosures. Will be returning in the Summer, it was torrential rain when we came and we still had a fantastic day.

We went on a half day animal experience today. We had a lovely day. So nice to be up close with the animals, the 3 tour guides Aaron, Devon and another (so sorry cant remember his name) were all brilliant, so knowledgeable on the animals and patient with my 2 daughters. Cant recommend enough.

A good variety of animals. We ordered tickets online to save a bit of money also. Only drawback is having to park on the road because the car park was full by the time we arrived. I would recommend this place to anyone. Our party ages were 29, 25, 13 and a 1 year old. All of us were happy!

Fantastic day out!

Fantastic day out!
Definitely worth a visit! And return! Great staff.
A must: the Fishing Cats!!!!
(Had trouble booking online though!)

Such an array of weird and wonderful animals, knowledgeable staff and a beautiful setting. Food offer is adequate. Meerkat experience was 'the best thing that's ever happened' according to my 10 year old son

Love it

Avoid like the plague. Run down and disappointing.

As my husband stated our experience was not what booked.
When I booked I booked the market, lemurs and serval experience. We didn't get that.
When booking in I booked in stating we had come for the meerket experience because the experience states it is a meerket, lemurs and serval experience. I didn't realise I had to state the whole thing.
My husband did say to the lady on arrival it was for the servals as well, she looked and agreed that it was.
After the experience, which was completely underwhelming, we complained, as would anyone when they didn't get what they paid for.
I know what i booked. I double checked it as we were travelling so far.
I was told that the email title states please check to ensure the booking is correct. It doesn't say that, it says, 'Your experience has been confirmed'
No where in the email does it state the booking needs checking and advise if wrong.
As all the experiences start with saying they are meerkats experiences how was I, or anyone else, supposed to know something different had been booked.
Moving on to our complaint. The girl at the desk denied she had confirmed that we had booked into the servals experience and soon scurried off.
The owner, Will, was very abrupt and uninterested, his '10 minute conversation was him looking at his laptop, saying WE had booked the wrong experience and that it wouldn't be his system, as it had been used for many years And 'it had never been wrong before
At no point did he offer a return trip, or any kind or refund, he told us to take it up with activity superstore, who the experience was bought from.

Would you want to use a company who have publicly declared their intention to defraud a customer?
I notice all the replies to negative comments state how aggressive or hostile the customer was, well these people have had cause to complain, if they were treated with the same rudeness we were treated with, then I can understand their anger and reactions.
To anyone who still wishes to book PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT BOOK DIRECTLY THROUGH HOO FARM, BOOK THROUGH ONE OF THE EXPERIENCE DAYS SITES.

Unfortunately when my husband purchased this experience he paid full price.

Follow up...
1. At no point was your cleft lip mentioned other than by you.

4. The lady did not stay by your side throughout the discussions, she left.
5. You were nothing shirt of rude, and at the time was adamant that your system did not make mistakes, yet on here you have just admitted it has.
6. I have the original email, which does NOT say anything about checking the experience.
7. You state your dedication to your business. It's your business, your livelihood so obviously you don't work 9-5, just like most people these days.
8. If you were that dedicated to your business, instead of arguing with unhappy cusyomers, then maybe it wouldn't look as scruffy as it does.

The whole experience was a huge let down, and it had been something I was looking forward to since I received the voucher at Xmas.

Amazing Day!!

Amazing Day!!
We did a full experience day at Hoo Farm, and it was honestly one of the best days I have ever been on. The Keeper who showed us around was amazing and very helpful. Johno let us see whatever animal we wanted to and as long as we were allowed to, we were welcomed Into The enclosures with him. We also were asked to help out with his animal talks and we gladly helped.we held so many animals and fed lots too! Would definitely recommend this experience to anyone who loves animals as a lot of the animals here have been hand reared amd are very affectionate to people so it enables you to get up close and personal with them!

Lovely family day out, reasonably priced with a free return visit however limited to revisiting within 28 days. Lots of great animals and birds to see and events during the day. We took a picnic which we ate inside as cafe menu was very limited. Only disappointing part was the state of the toilets which were very unclean cobwebs everywhere and dirty toilet roll and not enough towels to wipe your hands dry.

Had a great time at Home Farm when I visited with my son. We were booked for the meercat experience and our host Aaron was very knowledgeable and polite and the meercats were on their best behaviour! Once we had gave them a load of fuss and then fed them we had a walk around the other enclosures and it was good to see the other animals looking well kept and content. I would highly recommend a visit here and we will definitely be coming back.
