Lovely place to go plenty for all ages to see and do
Only takes couple hours start to finish..
Right size for young kids
Very good well worth a visit, zookeeper was nice and friendly a must do activity please go
Family friendly kids farm with some other small animals. Small giftshop. Some food and drink options, covered and open seating, & a play area.
Went for multi animal meeting experience and had a great time. Thought that an hour to do 4 animals would be too short but worked out just right.
Rest of the farm was actually quite good with a good array of animals.
Not at the same level as a major zoo but you get more than you would expect for a small farm size park.
Fantastic experience for children and adults. Highly reccomend this place for visit .
Was a good day out and a good selection about animals , good for the price we used tlc cards too
It was nice to go around and see all sorts of animals my children enjoyed it soo much had some wonderful pictures and some nice memories made :)
Brilliant place, good value and very wholesome. The staff were friendly and informative and I would definitely recommend the meerkat experience!
Great family day out. Well worth doing an animal experience there too take full advantage. Really friendly knowledgeable staff
It's a lovely place for kids, lots of different kind of animals and a park to play in and soft play centre. We were there from about 12 until about 4.30, so plenty to do. Wear wellies if there has been any rain, as it gets very muddy.
I didn't give 5 stars because everything looks a bit tired and could do with a makeover.
Very pleasantly surprised, lots of new animals and all kept in very good conditions. My favourite part was being able to feed the farm animals, cows, llamas, pigs, goats, emus. There was loads to do, would have spent the whole day if it wasn't so cold!
Absolutely brilliant afternoon spent feeding lemurs, cuddling Meerkats and stroking a Serval cat. Aaron was really good and had lots of knowledge about each animal. The farm had lots to see and do, we were lucky to be there on a quieter day which meant we got to see all the animals. A lovely little find! Highly recommended.
Brilliant, my daughter loved it. Very reasonable prices. Good food. Loads of animals to see. Great day out.
Fantastic place. All the animals are chilled and happy. Will is awesome. The meerkat experience was brilliant as was the big cats. Already planning a third trip back. Don't think, just go, you will not regret it. Also taxi journeys round the area are crazy cheap.
was free at the time I wouldn't pay the price they ask
Visited hoo farm has part of school trip. Good selection of animals knowledgeable staff. All our 5 year olds had a great time
Booked an animal experience, which was great, but the lemurs wouldn't come out as it was raining hard we missed out a little due to the weather. The negative for me was we bough 2 pots of animal food, which, come the afternoon, no animals More
Much bigger than you'd think and loads of animals, not just the farm varieties. We took our own picnic so can't comment on the food but everything else was excellent. All the usual stuff you'd expect for kids - changing area, great play area etc
We'd really recommend following round the guy who does the animal talks and meets - they were excellent and my 7month old loved getting up close to the animals, it really made it more of an experience for her! Then at the end of the day we won on the Ram National sheep race too - perfect day out!
Clean, plenty of hand washing facilities and sanitising gel pumps. Loverly staff and an excellent sensory Forest. Reasonable prices and plenty of play areas for the kids.
Brilliant place to visit enjoyable day out for all the family.
A lovely place with rescue animals always changing.
Absolutely fabulous... Brilliant place..
Great for kids
Amazing day.
They were really great with us when we had to cancel our meerkat experience short notice due to us self-isolating. Very understanding.
After 5 months we have finally been able to go and it didnt disappoint. Meerkat experience was amazing and staff very knowledgeable.
Highly recommend and would love to do it again.
Great little farm. We all realy liked it and most of the animals we thought had enough space to roam around.
Amazing day out for anyone I once had a meerkat experience there & was able to bottle feed the lambs & kid goats lots to see & do
Different animals but felt the cages were a little small
Easy parking and you can get close to some of the animals. Is good for toddlers. Lots of play areas too. Food is available but can be pricey but tables are available to eat your own food.
Excellent place to visit, even for adults. Wrap up if you go in winter months as there's few places to warm up.
The additional cost experiences are very good.
If you go once the ticket/receipt allows you to go back again, free of charge.
Kids and adults love the Meerkat experiences, we would love to do the Binturong one as that animal is fascinating....a bit like a sloth and gentle.
Enjoy
Absolutely loved it. I was lucky I got to do an Animal Encounter! The gentleman that showed us around was very polite/patient/informative. I love the fact that you can return any time during the month of your visit for free! Tickets are not expensive!
First of all, we did a meerkat exp which was really good, couldnt fault that. However as visiting in February it felt like the place was a little run down and lacking in effort, which is fine had we not paid full price. I suggest maybe a reduced entrance fee for the winter.
Came for the Serval, Lemur and Meerkat experience and had a great time, the staff were really friendly and helpful the animals were clearly very well cared for, such a great place, will definitely be going again!
Love it. Plenty of farm animals to see. Just the right size for small children. Love the petting experience. The children i took loved the day esp at the end with indoor play area
Kids had another brilliant animal experience, the staff were great and kids enjoyed every moment. Can't wait to do another one
Fantastic place my little man loved it me my partner an dj bottle fed the lambs will go back again
Amazing place and the people who works there very caring
Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable, a great day out.
We went for the Meerkat Encounter which was very good. We fed and handled them.
The other animals were in good condition and well cared for.
A special thank you to MARCUS in the cafe who was very helpful towards the children and a huge thank you from me for the LATTE even though the machine caused headaches.
Very good day.... I would recommend it
Nice day out good value with the Groupon discount not so good value if paid full price
Lovely place a lot bigger than expected. Staff are very helpfull and extremely knowledgeable a rarerity nowadays
Great experience, excellent service from staff, especially Gwyn who gave my wife a bottle of water as she was breastfeeding. Small touches and gestures like that are always appreciated
Didn't feel that the farm is very well kept, very untidy and many animals couldn't be seen.
We were there for 2hrs and that included lunch. Enclosures are not well kept and some very small.
Not the best day out unfortunately
Amazing place, had a really wonderful time with the binturongs! Will definitely come again next year!
We had a fantastic time yesterday. Hoo Farm closes for part of the year but the animal experiences continue. We booked two animal experiences and from our first confirmation email until leaving the farm the customer service was great. The animals were lovely and they were allowed to behave as they wished.
Meerkat, Serval and Lemur experience:
The lemurs enjoyed eating celery from us but otherwise ran, jumped and climbed around the enclosure we were in as they pleased. The meerkats had very district personalities, one enjoyed snuggles with the other couple while the other kept running up our back and standing on our shoulder as a lookout. The Serval was quite sleepy before her food so she enjoyed a few strokes and ear rubs in her bed of hay while our guide told us more about their natural habitat and her twin brother watched from afar. After our hour we said goodbye to the other couple and started on our next experience.
Binturong, Raccoon dog and Brushtail Possum experience:
We started with the Binturong. She was huge and beautiful, powerful and playful. Definitely an animal we hadn't come across before and she was really interesting, though please note that glasses should be removed so wear contacts if you can. Next we had the raccoon dog and he was adorable, burrowing into a little cloth hammock and nibbling on corners before climbing around as he pleased, I could watch him all day, but next we went to see the Brushtail possum. This one was probably the unexpected highlight of this experience. It is a small very agile, fluffy and cute little animal. I have never felt such a soft dense fur and it had amazing little paws with almost monkey-like hands. It was quite happy jumping around from person to person and working it's way through the fruitbowl. Please note that the Brushtail possum is nocturnal and that it is kept in a dark room with a red heat lamp so if your night vision is poor, go in last so you can adjust to it. Well worth it though.
This is a great place to spend quality time with the children. My family and I have been here a few times and never been left disappointed.
Fantastic place. Came here with a groupon offer for guided tour. Would totally recommend it
Animal conditions aren't great, full of their mess and no food.
Lovely little place to visit. Lots of animals to see worth buying the food to feed some of them!
Great place for young children - although the paths can be difficult to push a stroller around.
Plenty of free parking and the food is nice and reasonably priced.
Definatley worth a visit and an enjoyable few hours out!
Great afternoon out for little one's, couldnt fault it.
we had a 1 hour meerkat experience. it was amazing we got to hand feed them, then we got to handle them. it is well worth the money, we then got to look around the rest of the farm it is a wonderful day out and animals galore highly recommended
We had a great time meeting meerkats, ring tailed lemurs and servals (big cats) with personable and knowledgable keeper Aaron. Hoo Farm appears well run and all the staff we met made us feel welcome. It is clear that the keepers care about the animals. We have already booked a half day keeper experience later this year.
Animals were great, loved the otters! Good outdoor play areas, only missing pillow! some. Flooded toilets....As such for over two hours! As expected with these places very expensive shop.
Very enjoyable day.Good weather made in big as well.
Really great experience. Came here in 2014 and today. Really enjoyable day. I took these pictures of the animals and some of the people in them I didn't know.
Thoroughly enjoyed our first visit here today. Despite the Coronavirus restrictions we still had a good time.
Lovely farm lots to do lots of fun good variety of animals
Animals well kept and on the whole very good but far too muddy - some puddles were right across the whole path.
Plenty To see and do. Good for all ages. We did the carnivore experience, will be returning for sure
Fantastic place to visit, lovely atmosphere. The animals are loved and taken care of, lots of exciting activities for people of all ages to engage in.
Fed lemurs out of our hands, stoked a sevil cat and cradled a meerkat in our arms until they fell asleep. Fantastic day . Chris our guide/keeper was superb.
Had a fun Christmas breakfast with santa here. Staff made a lot of effort to entertain the children and even though initially it all seemed a bit strange the children really had a lot of fun.
Took my daughter for her birthday to meet the meerkats. Absolutely great experience and she loved it. Staff all great, helpful and knowledgeable
Don't bother visiting!
Awful experience! We left well within an hour of arriving! The place was so run down, filthy and miserable but the hardest part to see were the poor animals. They were beyond bored with no stimulation. One parrot was chewing through one of the walls of it s enclosure!!!! It was absolutely heartbreaking to see. Something needs to be done about the welfare of the animal.
I ve put this review up on another site also and one of the partner, Will s response was comical! Very similar reviews have been put up over the past few years. Rather than trying to rectify the concerns he becomes extremely defensive! His response was I needed to speak to one of his staff members who would have educated me . I would have love to have done so if i could find any staff around! Places like this who put money before anything else (ticket prices are ridiculous) need to be closed down!!!! Its not fair on those poor animals.
When you first arrive, you have a certain reservation! But when you get started, it's like a fantasy microcosm! The Kids, and You! Will love it!!!!!
Really enjoyed our tour with Aron he knew his job extremly well defo recomend a visit to Hoo Farm
Price was ok but they make it up with the gift shop which is extortion. There arent many animals and some enclosures have nothing in them all the animals seemed out of it. The animals do not look like they are being looked after. The staff are very rude and miserable especially the man who shows you some animals the way he speaks to you is wrong and puts you off even wanting to touch the animals
Went here for the half a day zoo keeper experience. For value for money this can t be beaten, handled animals like owls, servals, meerkats and many more. Staff were friendly and very knowledgeable. Then after the experience had free entry to the park.
Amazing animal experience with meerkats and lemurs and servals, great day out.
My wife bought me a Binturong experience for Christmas and I finally managed to get to Hoo to see what it was like. Firstly it s a fantastic place!! The range of unusual animals is incredible and would give the makers of Fantastical Beasts reason to pause. I ve been going to farm parks and zoos my whole life and yet I must have seen a dozen animals I ve never seen before. Secondly the experience was outstanding. Up close with three of my favourite animals (The Binturong was a complete sweetheart ).
Last but not least, the young lady who took us for the experience was brilliant. Knowledgable, considerate and most of all passionate about what she does. The kind of person you are happy is looking after these wonderful creatures!!
Such a wide variety of animals to see great for people of all ages, singles, couples, families, grandparents days out, groups. Fab day out with my family x
Amazing place for people of all ages. We took our kids to a meet the meerkat experience and I have to say it was absolutely fantastic. The kids got to feed the meerkats and even spent some time with a couple of them asleep on their laps. I definitely recommend a visit if you're in the area.
Amazing place to visit for all of the family. Highly recommend the Animal Experiences. Really informative and fantastic being up close to the animals. Great facilities and reassuringly covid secure. Will definitely visit again soon.
I came here for my birthday on the 29th June. Had a wonderful time. Was quiet and socially distanced. Everyone there (visitors, workers) were all so friendly and lovely and very accommodating. The website to book was easy to use and very well built. Thank you for a lovely day!
Everything is very well organised and very well sign posted. Plenty of washin stations and hand sanitizer. Well worth the money.
