One perfectly OK hotel, which looks like old age .. Our room and hallway smell like relatively strong cannabis and it seems that the ventilation system is below par. The location is great if the goal of the trip is to look at the concrete stars in the tarmac.
Great place great food. Room on the 8th floor was amazing.
I enjoyed my stay at this hotel so much! The bed was extremely comfortable. The room was spacious and clean. The vintage aesthetics were awesome. I wish I was not just passing through! Highly recommended place!
Nice room but the hallways need a little work. They are dingy and have a particular-not so pleasant- smell to them, which is the last thing you want when getting up in the morning. Also, it is worth mentioning that this hotel is a bit of a party spot so if you're there on a weekend, especially a holiday, expect high levels of noise coming from the pools and DJs.
Received very bad customer service from a Promoter name Jeff-short Asian guy W muscles and tattoos, while in line for the night swim...First off him and another Asian guy were drink while working the whole time.. Which I thought was very unprofessional... He was actually rude to everyone in line besides the ppl whom he invited..He makes ppl stand in line for hours while his ppl get in..But besides that the hotel staff has been very nice doing my previous stays. I guess if you aren't a guest that is staying at the hotel it's all bad!!
nice boutique hotel with a friendly staff and a spectacular view of Hollywood blvd. the tv's are all google cast enabled which is great, they also have usb inputs. the hotel's swimming pool is a LA historical landmark, and marilyn monroe once lived in the penthouse for a few years back in that era. the first academy awards were held here
Great hotel, very clean and yet uphold the historic feel. Staffs are very helpful.
Went for bolwing and drinks at the Spare Room. Bolwing was a lot of fun, shoes and a scorekeeper divided with your reservation. Bummer we only booked an hour! Cocktails we're good, typical Hollywood prices, nothing outlandish. Beers selection was decent too. Never got to crowded, overall a nice more mellow atmosphere!
What a gorgeous hotel! We were there on our honeymoon, but unfortunately didn t get treated as so. I was also 6 months pregnant at the time, and the beds in the Cabana rooms are awful. The hotel staff did walk us around in the middle of the night asking if we would like a different room, but not free of charge. The next morning upon checkout (I wish we could have stayed, but my body couldn t handle the beds) we were confronted by a rather rude front desk manager that was no help or didn t offer anything to us to stay at the hotel. I wish I could rave about this place, because we were so excited to stay at this historic, beautiful hotel.. but our experience was less than expected.
Room 503 has three major issues. #1. four poster bed design flaw in a small room blocks view from bed and difficult to navigate around. #2. Terrible street noise. #3. Bath tub super slow to drain.
Historic, classic Hollywood look and feel blended with modern touches and excellent service.
This hotel was really cool. Nestled in the heart of Hollywood Blvd you are close to everything, but entering the building takes you to a whole nother place. Interior is very fancy and upscale with courtyard and pool. For the money, I feel we got a really good deal. Our room had a patio with view of pool area. It was nice to sit out there, listen to life, and just unwind. we didn't get to use pool, but the gym was pretty nice. Room was a modern chic to me. Low bed with mirrors, curtains, and mood lighting. Really couldn't ask for more. Only one concern and it was quickly addressed. The room was full of booze. I understand the business behind it, but in a world of addiction, I do not feel this is too nice to that person who may be struggling. With over 20 bottles on the table, a quick call to the front desk and this was removed. If you are visiting Hollywood, this is the place.
Cool historical place, but it feels a bit run down.
I like this place. Has a good vibe. In between too hipster and hipster light, which is just right
Pretty fantastic! Right on Hollywood Boulevard. Alot of glitz and glam all around. Alot of history to the place. If you're into it, then you can even find some crazy ghost stories about the place too. Anyway, alot to do, alot to see. Staying here is an experience!
Incredible location in the middle of Hollywood. Superb amenities including a heated saltwater pool. Friendly accommodating staff, with good sense of humor.
Very disappointed with this hotel.
Cleanliness zero..hallway carpets and skirtings covered with dust, headboard in bedrooms dusty despite daily housekeeping
Very old baths, inadequate water drainage. You are standing in a pool of water in the shower and this was after getting an engineer to fix the issue.
Only good thing is the location
Does not live upto the name of the chain or history
Only visited the pool bar, which was nice but extremely pricey. Over $30 for 3 Wolf Pups, tip included (thank God). Pool was warm, but I got the vibe that anyone could just walk in there without a second thought. If you don't care about money or privacy, then yeah go to the Roosevelt.
What's not to love?!! Seriously this hotel is beautiful and historic.
I wonder what Marilyn would have thought of all the white leather sneakers and gold chains luxuriating by the pool under hazy Hollywood sun. Glamour got tough? (I say that with love)!
My compact, yet thoroughly updated room included a tiny private patio overlooking the courtyard. The lobby seems like a see-and-be-seen spot with black SUV's rolling in for valet. Public Kitchen looks like Restoration Hardware but the Kale Salad was over-saturated for my taste.
Overall, it's an attractive and sturdy place but probably more enjoyable with a group.
Great hotel. Really nice and classy. Drinks by the pool or at their hidden bowling alley upstairs. Great place to hangout.
Never stayed there but have been to the bar. A little expensive, but worth it. Valet is extremely nice and very quick!
Went here just to use the bathroom after a tour. A very nice hotel lobby. Very fancy and you can tell it's expensive. There was even a fountain in the main area.
Not bad - but 20+ bucks for a drink is a bit pricey!
Wonderful location. Great amenities and ambiance. Look forward to returning.
We booked 4 night stay June 21-25 2018 at this hotel in New York because we previously stayed there back in 2014. Upon arrival my credit card was charged whole amount of my stay! 1500.00 they charge 35.00 extra for resort fee! We had More
Very nice place, family friendly, amazing staff and the decor is very cosy
Historical location with great variety of drinking establishments and place to hang.
We had an awesome stay at this hotel! Everyone was pleasant and helpful from the security to the concierge, the receptionists, housekeeping, and restaurant staff. Everyone made us feel so welcome. Our room was also clean, bed and pillows are so comfortable. I will surely come back and recommend the hotel to all our family and friends.
Best value for location and price. Friendly staff, nice relaxed pool/bar
Amazing poolside and celeb spotting :) service is just okay though
I love this historic place, Marilyn Monroe was there, her spirit live there ,she represent the Gold Era of Hollywood, glamour, high style and talented actors.
She was so kind and sophisticated. I love Marylin Monroe.
Beautiful place with great customer service. Loved the pool!
Beautiful space and great sevice. Excellent music, just no air conditioning at the The rosy, it was so hot
So far so good. But hotel is haunted and gave me chills
I had a wonderful time in the service by the staff was excellent. Everyone from the maids to security to concierge had a professional and friendly attitude.
Beautiful memories of a hotel whose location is excellent
Server was great amazing burgers and half off beer 3-6
My wife and I enjoyed this hotel. Security does a great job. Rooms are clean.
The soap, shampoo, and hair conditioner smell bad. Please pay for better cleaning products.
I was unable to connect any of our phones to the Google Chrome offered on the television. I was hoping to send my Netflix or Hulu to the TV. Hotel staff has no idea how to help with this problem.
Cool bar, great holiday decor. Drinks were a bit pricey for what they offered, but hey that's show biz
Room was smaller than I expected, but fine for my biz trip. Oscar's were happening, so the entire pool area was closed, which stunk.
Rooms are amazing and venue for events is the best especially when decorated for the holidays!
Went for an employee party and it was a great experience, classic decor and beautiful people. Service was great.
