Amazing hotel in a bad location. It s a beautiful building, and although it s known for its night and party scene, it s very kid friendly. We originally booked a Superior room, and upon arrival, they gave us a great deal and upgraded us to a big & beautiful suite. It was amazing to stay in that room, we really enjoyed it. They also have a heated pool, which is beautiful and the kids really enjoyed it. The only downside of the hotel itself is the 25 degrees restaurant in the lobby was gross and the service was bad. They even messed up grilled cheese and that s hard to do. The people and service in the rest of the hotel was great. The location is truly the worst. It s essentially the Times Square of LA, but it s even worse. This didn t really impact our stay, except for there are no good restaurants nearby (walking distance of) the hotel on account of its location. Staying here will mean you will probably have to drive a lot, so for that reason you may want to stay in another location. However, this is a beautiful, great hotel for not too expensive, so we liked it a lot.

Beautiful historic hotel. I visited during the vulture festival and did not check in as an overnight guest. I recommend parking at Hollywood and Highland. Beautiful interior and pleasant poolside lounge. Worth a brief visit if you're in the area.

Avoid the poolside Tropicana if you're vegan. Took the precaution to call ahead to ask about vegan options. Was assured they could modify a number of dishes to accommodate. The only option was the falafel. They forgot to bring the promised sauces. Had to send the dish back. Was eventually brought a plate of steamed veggies. They forgot to bring a sauce, again. Although apologetic, got the feeling that the staff felt inconvenienced. Won't be going back.
The poolside is a pleasant spot, with sun and shade options and hotel guests on recliners nearby.

I am very disappointed in my stay here. I chose this hotel because of the multiple bar selections that they have. Only to find out that all but two of the bars were closed for private events. For the same price that I paid I could've stayed on rodeo drive, but wanted to enjoy the nightlife that this hotel highlights. This will be my last time staying at the Roosevelt. The 2 out of 5 bars that were open was disappointing too. One being the legendary Tropicana.. $18 for their specialty drinks, ok I can pay that, but the atmosphere was putting me to sleep at 9:30 on a Friday night. The next bar (I forgot the name) had maybe 3 people in it that I can see, but wouldn't allow my husband in with his flip flops... $350 Gucci flip flops I might add... he was dressed in a button up shirt with jeans but changed into comfortable flip flops to go to the lobby bar that had maybe 3 people in it and attempt to buy a $12 beer. The decor and ambiance of this place lived up to my expectations along with the very slow elevators. Location is on point if you want to experience the dirty Hollywood Blvd. and attend the Jimmy Kimmel show. If you're looking to take a picture in the legendary Marilyn Monroe mirror, don't bother, it's been taken down. I did get an automated email from the Manager Juliana checking in on how our stay was, but 2 weeks later she still has not replied to me. 2 stars for the decor and cleanliness... that is all.

For $300 per night, you d think the staff would be at least a little kind & hospitable.

Completely cold and rude experience from every representative we interacted with. We were there for 4 days and it became a joke in our group that the staff would be horribly unkind, tense, and stern.

From the front desk, to the valets, the security guards, and people at the pool- everyone was on the same level of toxic unfriendliness. this hotel screams pretentious

Had boozy shakes and fries/onion rings with 3 dips. Bit pricey, but I get it for the location. Music was a bit too loud for talking to my friend sitting next to me in the booth. Server was nice and attentive, though I felt it took a bit too long for just fries/rings to come out.

Had dinner in the lobby and was really disappointed. Service was bad. Waitress was inattentive despite almost no other tables and she brought me the wrong wine (I was OK with the bordeaux she brought but I ordered the malbec, there's a noticeable difference). The food wasn't up to par for the price we paid. Spicy ketchup with steak frites? Had drinks at the pool bar and couldn't believe the prices, not to mention that gratuity is automatically added in. I'm OK paying higher prices for nice things, but the goods and services should reflect those prices.

Stayed in one of their nice suites, and absolutely loved it! From the Barn sliding doors, to the full size living room, but most of all how my room(main bdrm.) was tucked away from the rest to give you that RnR feeling!

The HR is right in the heart of downtown Hollywood. It's within walking distance to the Pantages, Madame Tsoussands, and the Magic Castle. We attended work events in Teddy's and the Blossom Ballroom. The areas were beautifuly and elaborately decorated and the food provided by the hotel was really tasty. Our room was on the smaller side and besides the small closet there weren't any drawers to put belongings or clothes.

The lobby is beautiful. Decent amount of seating, so finding a place to sit wasn't an issue. Drinks and food were definitely on the pricey side, but tasted good. I would go again for the ambience, but would probably just have drinks next time. Good for a quick visit before seeing a show in Hollywood.

This place is THE place to stay in Hollywood. Unreal location, historic lobby and a contagious feel. Most of the staff where awesome, extremely friendly and helpful. This place caters to big hollywood stars and it is very easy to feel very unimportant sometimes. Within 5 mins of checking in I ran into a couple of celebs around the gym and pool. Sometimes the pool is off limits due to private pool parties ect, the room was very small but apart from these things it was a great place to stay. We got a great rate and will stay here again!

Beautiful hotel and I was more impress with the Roosevelt than the W Hotel I stayed in a few years before.

We had a Cabano room which was a little noisy but it was a free upgrade and we were warned of this beforehand.

Rooms are spacious and facilities are good.

Location is great if your a tourist, the hotel itself is a must see

Luckily, a month ago, I booked this hotel for my holiday. Their rooms were lovely to look at, they had very cool air conditioning, and they were tidy. Besides, the workers were good, competent, and kind. It was all fun as I moved around with their services. I loved it all about this hotel. It was wonderful to return again and again. Thank you!

Just stay here! Exquisite, elegant, sophisticated and charming. The best place to stay in Hollywood hands down. The atmosphere is chill as it gets. So many accommodations and amenities. Also the historic site of the first academy awards! The epitome of iconic Hollywood. Conveniently located right on Hollywood Blvd. and neighbor to Jimmy Kimmel!!! YES YES YES!

For that reason, I will make sure to recommend this hotel to everybody I meet! I enjoyed my stay here at the hotel. The meal was excellent. I have your manager of the rooms to comment on. I had a small problem and she handled it with elegance, beauty, and professionalism. She's a credit to the organization.

Stayed here 4 nights. The valet is absolutely excellent. they're extremely professional and nice. there's a smoking area to hang out there. you can grab your uber from here too. The restaurants aren't that great. They're surprisingly not busy amd the food is average. For the price of the public restaurant it's not worth it. The drinks at the bars are below average, but the bar and waiting staff are pretty decent. There's a lounge area in the center where you can also get food and drinks from waitresses at night. The hotel has no small store for small things you typically need on a trip. There's no breakfast restaurant either. Got 2 rooms. The roosevelt suite and a normal room. The views were okay. They were quiet enough and spacious enough. the bathrooms are tiny compared to the rest of the space and there's no bathtub. They provide water and snacks for sale in the rooms. The pool is pretty nice and there's an out door area. The bouncer at the "spare room" is not friendly.

The hotel is outstanding! My room was newly renovated with an specular view of the Hollywood Hills. To accompaniment the Roosevelt's historic decorum are several high-end bars, lounges, pools, and restaurants. On my next visit to Hollywood I will book the Roosevelt.

Went with my bestfriend for our annual shared week...

Went with my bestfriend for our annual shared weekend birthday celebration (Dec 4th=Sagittarius), and I had heard so much about it, and did extensive research on the History of the Hotel. Spirit of Montgomery Clift (Room 928) was the initial intriguing factor.

Upon checking in we were pleasantly surprised when we were upgraded to a suite on the top floor, two restrooms in the suite were nice to have during our stay. Unfortunately it was a bit dusty on mirrors, headboards, etc. There seemed to be a bloodstain on my comforter, not appealing for bedtime.

Most employees were courteous, the ambiance was fine, and one can almost feel the History of the very 1st Oscar ceremony many years ago. Room service was fine, they kept quiet for me on a late night order, food was edible. Valet was usually busy but we were in our vehichle in a timely manner.

We were very sad to realize the only morning we had available to dip in the pool was not feasible due to a film shoot. However, they let us go to the rooftop and penthouse, a great view of Hollywood boulevard, and of course the Roosevelt sign.

Thrilled to go into Spare Room one evening to bowl, yet dissapointed as we were told there was a charge per lane? Not a cheap man but surprised they would charge guests. Hostess of Spare Room walked passed us three times, guess we weren't chic enough? Though my outfit was purchased in Paris. We sat ourselves and were overlooked so eventually headed back to our room. That was sad treatment for our birthday.

I am glad I had the experience but we both agreed most likely never again. Take it from an experienced traveler, you can bring it up a notch.

Stayed for dinner and drinks. It was pretty busy bit the staff had us seated right away. They went the extra mile to make sure we had what was ordered in a timely manner. My wife received a complimentary drink because the bar was unhappy with the pour. A very pleasant experience.
