Great historical hotel know to be haunted and the site of the first academy awards ceremony

Went to a media event and drinks at the pool. Everything was perfect.

Great atmosphere. Awesome place for my friend's bday

We were easily able to use their valet parking service.

Stayed a couple nights here. The original room I was placed in was right next to the noisy elevator shaft and housekeeping closet. I informed the front desk. They placed me in a different room the next day and gave me a generous comp amount for the trouble. The hotel manager Kevin left me a welcome/apology note for the inconvenience. I appreciated that. The lounge on the second floor was nice, with bartenders that made quality drinks. Overall experience was good.

This historical Hotel is located across from the Chinese Theater. The lobby has fun funky swinging chairs and a comfortable meeting area. The pool service and food is 5 stars. It is so LA ...fun eclectic people. Only in LA will you find a 6 foot tall pool attendant in a short dress and high heels! Our room and bathroom was small and could use remodeling thus the 4 stars.

Wow - this place was fun. I would not have expected it based on seeing the hotel from the street, but luckily I got a recommendation from a friend who really knows his way around Hollywood. Let me just run it down:

1. Beautiful pool with pool parties on Saturdays
2. Nice room, with a great bathroom and a view of Hollywood Blvd.
3. 3 bars and a club in the hotel.
4. Late night burgers.
5. Big open lobby with a late-night social scene.
6. Unbeatable location directly across the street from the famous Chinese Theater on the Walk of Fame.

Great for young couples or singles looking for a central location - not very family friendly.

The customer service gets better after you have a problem. Not satisfied with the hotel. Dj played foul music not once but again even after bringing it to the management. The dj went to the bar to talk badly about me when i asked about his music choices, not knowing my husband was still sitting at the bar. Manager said he would take good care of us when we come back. Why would i want to go back with this repeated racist music. If he wanted us to stay again he should have taken care of us at that time.

Iconic hotel, superb location and a quality hotel. Comfortable and relaxing stay.

Totally loved it! Came for just one night to see a show at the nearby Hollywood Bowl - which worked great because there is a $6 (round trip) shuttle bus from across the street from the hotel to the Bowl.

We booked what we thought was a garden terrace room with a private outdoor patio - apparently only some of this room type has the outdoor area, and our reserved room didn't - but a quick conversation with the friendly front desk staff resulted in a considerate upgrade to a pool-view room with a patio that was perfect!

Everyone else working at the hotel was similarly friendly and helpful - the pool hostess, the waiters, even the security guards!

We stayed a Saturday night, and there were pool parties both Sat and Sun afternoon - the music was terrific, the crowd was gorgeous, and the vibe was perfect. Note that it was also loud - don't stay pool side on a party day/night unless you too are planning to party. The desk staff was helpfully clear on this point as we checked in, so we knew we picked a room with a... soundtrack :)

The interior design here is super groovy, the landscaping was perfectly tended, the food was excellent (if slightly pricey - but whatever, we were dining in style poolside so we didn't care!).

Highly recommended - we will be back for certain.

A Hollywood institution. Great pool and atmosphere.

One of my favorite properties in Hollywood. I love old architecture with a rich history, and stories to tell. This beautiful and classic venue, has all of this and more! Great stories, unique aesthetics, wonderful staff, so much fun. It's truly one of kind and such a magical property. There are secrets it has to share, if you go looking. Highly recommend it for both corporate and social events.

Excellent facilities in an ideal location. Everything clean and tidy. Couldn't ask for more in an ideally located hotel. Free WiFi would be the only improvement, but it is available for free in the lobby. Would recommend.

Lunch very expensive not that good salad was good though

Came here after a show at the Dolby. Stopped in at the spare room bar which was hopping on a Saturday night. Drinks were pretty good.

An excellent stay with awesome value, although currently in dispute about a lipstick which went missing from its box, completely new and unused, so hoping this will be resolved...

Only a customer of the Spare Room bar and restaurant in Hotel. Great service and good vibe even for mid week. Bowling Alley is prettt pricey but worth it if you are in a large group

Classic hotel right in the mess of Hollywood. Consider this a good party hotel with modern rooms, iconic bar service and a killer pool bar. Oh, look for the semi-secret bowling lanes on the second floor.

Went for drinks at their poolside bar. Hostess and waitress was super nice. Drinks were a but pricy but the mezcal was good. Nice outdoor ambiance. Would come again if I'm in the area

When the staff forcibly wants to join the evening a friend and I was having, made everything weird afterward.

He used to fear the spirit of Marilyn Monroe. There are foods of fear and the magic is not known. Why is it a haunted place? Loud voices, I will never let you sleep and lights. Sometimes they are turned off. Brotherly, there are no voices. I do not say to him, no, but I do not despair you. If you do not believe me, see the words

Nice hotel with truly amazing character. It feels very old school classy Hollywood with lots of wood and stone. The room was quite comfortable and I loved the pillows. Staff was very accommodating and made you feel welcome without it being forced. Only problem was the bed frame. It has these strange protruding corners that either stub your toes or cut your leg. Happened to both myself and the other guest multiple times.

Stayed here many times between the mid '70's to early '80's.Loved the hotel and its history. Guess I'm way overdue for another stay! :)

The Roosevelt has never failed me, the staff always top notch.

The hotel was in a fantastic location, close to both our destination and some of the city's best attractions. The bed, on the other hand, was surprisingly comfortable. The lounge bar also has a large range of blended drinks.

Went to the pool bar with my friend for drinks and snacks and they took my card in advance to start a tab. Towards the end of the evening the waitress said the total amount of our bill was deducted from this card as a procedure and this money was going to be refunded to me 24hours later ?!!! so basically we had to pay twice. I thought this was the most bizarre policy ever. since I m foreign I was planing to pay cash and not use that card. And then I call the bar manager to verify if this is what they usually did and he said NO and he had no idea what was going on. So the waitress (white girl with reddish hair and blue eyes on her 30s) decided she didn t trust us so she ran my card ?!!!! what kind of sketchy business are you running ? I don t have access to that money for 24 hours and I m foreign staying here for a few days this is so WRONG!
Never coming here again!!!!!

We attended the TCM Film Festival and had a wonderful experience. $40 for two drinks and tip is a little much, though.

This is a beaitiful hotel and the pool parties are so fun.

Nice historic hotel being modernized. Great customer service! Unfortunately, the shower in a recently renovated room gave me the heebie jeebies. Grout and tile was so nasty, with mold overgrowing the grout. I need sanitizer now.

The location is excellent ... the rooms are small ... the bathrooms are small ... the parking is expensive

Place is dark. Needs good lighting, the restaurant bar is ok. Valet Parking are nice.

Very good location, in the middle of everything on Hollywood Blvd. It is an older hotel, and definitely shows its age in the common areas such as the lobby and elevators. There was a private event that ended up closing off a lot of the common areas, which was disappointing. The staff are tremendously helpful and nice.

This hotel is all about old time Hollywood. You almost expect Marilyn Monroe to appear around the next corner. The dark lit lobby, restaurants and bars ooze with old world charm. I loved staying here. The location is absolutely central Hollywood - close to everything. Our room was large and clean and all the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. If ever I am in Hollywood again, this is where I'll be.

Great location didn't think I'd be able to afford to stay here! But not unreasonable and what a location,book a cabana room by the pool.

The Hollywood Roosevelt had a Pokemon Go gym and legendary raids are frequently battled here.

Drinks were good (though I had to send my old fashioned back for being too sweet)... The location rocks, you'd never guess how cool it is inside by looking at the outside!

We went to visit the library bar, but it was a horrible disappointment.

Traditional hotel. It is a place of legends, pool parties are awesome, but the tower rooms are beyond Hong Kong tiny.

What I was there with a friend and his family who were staying there and we went to the bar after we ate and it was very lovely
