Only stayed here for a night, but it was everything we needed and more. It was well within walking distance of the French Quarter and right next to some trolley stops if you don't like walking. The staff there are very friendly and helpful, and even the ladies working the Starbucks at the hotel were super sweet and friendly when my friend and I went downstairs at 5:30 in the morning for some refreshments.

Rooms were the comfortable, beds especially, staff friendly and helpful, had an issue with my faucet and was fixed promptly - older hotel but good lounge and good food, great location next to the riverwalk and general downtown area.

My huaband and I stayed a week at the hotel and the service was great. The concierge answered all of our questions and assisted with scheduling tours. The room was very clean and the housekeeping staff ensured we had clean towels and fresh linen.
Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Brought 12 people there for a conference and it was quite disappointing.
-lost one of our reservations and two had to bunk together for a night before it got sorted out
-hot water in the shower was on and off
-rooms not made until after 5:00PM in multiple occasions
-understaffed restaurant. Long line and 1.5 hrs for breakfast.
-not friendly staff: guessing poorly managed and understaffed
-wife lost her room key and it was a hassle to get her a new one, even though we checked in together.

Convenient location, enough rooms to become it's own city, indoor mall attached, convenient parking, convention center is directly behind the hotel, The Aquarium, Harrah's entertainment is across the street, canal street and French quarter's are walkable distance. You dont need a car.

Place was giant....couldn't even figure out which parking garage I left my car in. Nice hotel....get a room facing the Mississippi if possible. Location was decent...but I prefer to be in the heart of the French quarter....there was a touch of a walk...but on the plus side...a casino right next door

Great Hotel. Very well kept up and clean. Love the breakfast. Bed was very comfortable. And the jazz band in the Public Belt bar was very good. And you just can't get no more convenient location for seeing the water and to explore canal and Poydras in downtown areas

Had the displeasure of attending a seminar at this location only to discover they do NOT validate parking for attendees. Prices are outrageous for attendees to purchase items, and I quite frankly see 0 benefits of utilizing this location as they pawn off basic services to 3rd party companies to avoid negative reviews or liability.

I have mixed feelings about this one. I'm a diamond member and have traveled around the world in Hilton properties. This hotel is huge and is in a good location. The lobby is decently nice and the service received at check in by Ayn was stellar. Unfortunately, things after that didn't go so well. The rooms are a bit underwhelming, even the "executive" levels. Don't worry, there's nothing special about them. There's no executive lounge and if these rooms represent the nicest options, there's a lot of room for improvement. The parking and drop off situation is chaotic, the continental breakfast offering is an absolute joke (bread, fruit, juices, yogurt only), the service received at the breakfast restaurant was also poor. All in all, I've come to the conclusion that this really shouldn't be branded as a Hilton hotel. It's one of those weird misnomers in the Hilton brand portfolio that isn't up to current brand standards. It's so big (1600 rooms) and has been this way for so long, it's the status quo, but still dilutes the Hilton brand standard expectations noticeably. The layout is confusing, there's no description of your room being in a certain tower, there's odd paths that you have to take to get to the Riverwalk, etc... I could go on. The hotel is laid out very strangely. After valet parking, you walk into the first floor which is dark and unwelcoming. That's not a great first impression...
Oh, and they also got my bill wrong, something that had never happened in any of my previous Hilton brand stays. They have got some work to do if this is supposed to represent their brand well.

Went to the hilton to have lunch at dragos. Hotel is very good located, enormous lobby, valet, right across the casino in case you want to waste your money.
Blocks away from mississippi river, french quarter, canal street, restaurants, and street car stops...

Management completely unprofessional, racist. I and my employee will be filing a formal discrimination complaint. Very unfortunate, my husband and I have been Hilton members for years, especially with our military travels.

Hotel is a rip-off for normal folks. Have to pay for WiFi and gym. Parking is $50/night for valet (our car was too tall for self service).

I wouldn t stay here again unless my company paid for me (which is prob why this hotel exists - it s connected to the convention center).

On top of that, no breakfast and they ran out of clean blankets. Very disappointed in this place

This was our first time in New Orleans attending a conference and we decided on the Hilton based on the list of reviews. We wanted a location that was convenient to the convention center, French Quarters, tourist sites and street cars - this location was perfect. We walked to the convention center in about 10 minutes outside via the street or if you want to stay inside to avoid the heat/rain you can take a longer walk through the adjacent River walk shopping mall.

We walked to French Quarters on our first day. During the other days, we took the Street Cars to the WWII Museum, up canal street and to the Garden District. It was fun to take the Street Car on Canal Street all the way to the end and then back again. This gave us a good picture of the city and local people. All of the street car stations are walking distance from the Hilton. The waterfront streetcar is located next to the Hilton front entrance.

The bathroom seemed small for an upscale hotel but our room was very nice on the 22nd floor with a wonderful view of the city. King size bed was comfortable and the towels were fluffy soft. New Orleans is a hot/humid city and we were able to keep our room cool and even cold at times. The Concierge at the Hilton was very helpful with ideas for restaurants and points of interest. They recommended Muriel's at Jackson Square on or first night and the food was very delicious- it was an excellent way to start our stay in New Orleans.

Check-in was a hassle. We arrived to our room to discover that the bathroom was dirty and hadn't been cleaned. We called the front desk to report the issue and were told that they were sending someone up immediately. We left to go to dinner we're turning several hours later to discover that the restroom still hadn't been cleaned. We called for housekeeping again and they finally showed up around midnight to clean the room.

We had a pretty nice stay at this hotel! We went to NOLA for my birthday and also to celebrate Southern Decadence . All of the staff was very kind, the room was clean , we had a nice view of the city and the hotel has Dragos downstairs which was a nice perk. We were also connected to the outlet mall, they had some funky shops, Cafe Du Monde and even a small wine shop.
Everything was overall pretty decent , the only down sides were:

cost of the gym $12/day (they did not tell me this when booking or checking in, huge bummer since we like to workout daily and that s a big fee per person)
The beds were not super comfortable
The cost of water, essentials and beer was pretty pricey.
The staff was super loud in the morning lol
Thank goodness we didn t rent a car because parking is $50/night which is outrageous!

Otherwise I enjoyed our stay.
Wouldn t be my first choice for next time around, but wouldn t mind staying in the future.

When i arrived here in March 2013 they had to put me in another room because they had given my room to someone else. They have 5 or 6 counters but most of the times only 2-3 are manned creating long lines.

So expect to be disappointed from time to time. In short, a conference hotel which is located at a nice location. Personal touch is missing with some rude employees as well.

Nice hotel and location. Found a sock in my room upon entry. Rooms are kind of outdated for the price. Fitness club is the best perk but a little over priced in my opinion. $12.00 day pass per day. If you check in at 4pm your pass expires at 9pm on the same day.

We were given vouchers and paid for an upgrade at check in. We then realized that the upgrade wouldn't work for us, because of our schedule, we asked to change it. The person at the desk then took these vouchers, but did not remove the charge from the room. So in essence, we were charged $300 for something and not given anything in return.

This is a decent hotel it's a clean hotel the food in the restaurant is not that great but it's not that bad either. In my Room it was clean for the most part the bear was very clean I did notice some ants in the Room also I'm in Room 3023 and building too and there is mold in my vents if you're ever here in New Orleans Don't stay in this Room because there is construction right outside this window and it's right here on the river where the ships horns wake you up constantly. Also there is no complimentary water in the Room so you will have to constantly buy water at 2 to $5 A bottle.

Food provided for event reception was not hot, just out on plates/in pots...nothing to keep it warm considering how early they put it out before we were able to eat. White chocolate bread pudding was really good though.

I had appreciated the room and the various services, but at the entrance I made a deposit of 230dollars in the event that I should be served in room or other damages causes in the room. Nothing wrong has been found but my rest has never been restored, very disappointed for that.

Attending mecha con today. First time actually getting a room. Staff was super friendly at check in. Bar is only open till 1:4am (sad face) but they are also very nice to the cosplayers, which is a huge deal for me. Elevators are a pain but, it's not the hotels fault. Room was upgraded for us and there was no early check in fee.

Great hotel to stay at in/near the quarter. The cost per night is not bad, it's location is very decent for hitting the rest of the city, and it's location above a mall with a Cafe du Monde is hard to argue with! There's currently construction going on outside and inside the hotel, so noise is an issue. The bar closes at midnight, which is a bit disappointing, but you're not coming to this city to spend all your time in this hotel anyway.

The room itself is mediocre. Surprisingly the tv, although flat screen, is not HD. I had to fix the tub drain (clogged) and the A.C. filter cover (only half was attached to the wall) when I got here. Also, make sure that you know that in addition to what you pay to stay here, they will charge you an additional $50 up front/per day for "incidentals" that will be refunded after you leave if not needed. It is also $44/day to Park that is not included, but luckily they pull that from the $50/day that you paid up front. (Insert sarcasm) For the price, the product, and the headache, it's not worth it in my opinion.

Everything was nice for the most part. The one BIG issue I had was the matress. Absolutely horrendous. I felt like I was sleeping at a motel instead of a great hotel like the Hilton on the river. Very dissapointing. For the amount that it costs to stay here, you would think you could count on a good night's rest. I was wrong and will not be coming back.

Upgraded myself through the honors app to a river view tower room. Everything was great and I find this hotel to be in a great location for back-and-forth trips to the French Quarter and the Riverwalk/Convention Center.

The location was great, right across from Harrah's and connected to the river walk. The rooms were reasonably nice, but the climate control is motion activated so it would get warm by morning. Check in and check out were way too slow for such a large hotel. While the room was 4/5, location 5/5, interaction with the front desk brings it to a 3/5 overall.

The amenities are plenty, the hotel offers wonderful bars and restaurateurs, and is connected to the Riverside Outlets, with a ton of shopping. The rooms seem a little dated, but aside from a few cosmetic issues, it was a nice place to stay, being so convenient.

Great place, but you do get lost in the place, no complementary shuttle, and while we got gym/pool/wifi, access to those aparently isnt complementary for everyone, also no breakfast is dumb, tons of 5 star hotels have breakfast included. Wonderful staff which is why its not a 3 star.
