Great location. Just next to station. My room backs onto station and no major noise even with windows open. Like all old buildings the air con seems to struggle. Rooms clean and tidy. Would stay again

It's a Hilton so standards are high. The staff here are super friendly and courteous.
What I like about this hotel is the connection through Paddington to Heathrow. For a frequent Traveller like me, it's a boon.

As lovely as the decor was, very comfortable beds and lovely service, out stay was ruined by a problem with the hot water. As lovely as it all was, without the basics of a hot shower I cannot give this place a 5 star.

I was given an upgrade from a wonderful room on the fourth to a phoenomenal room on the first floor. The staff was very helpful in navigating London, the room was spacious and quality (as I expect and receive from Hilton in general) and you simply cannot beat the distance to Heathrow Express if you're planning to fly out directly from the hotel.

I have been going to the hotels for some decades for one event or another. It just always feels old. I dont know what it is. Maybe the heavy & deep carpets in the main halls, gold metal stairwell handles - I just dont know. The bathrooms had an overhaul from the last time I was there but I still could see the tiles were removed for repairs and not repositioned very well in the ladies. I have never stayed there but for somewhere so central I always hope it got more 'chic'

Excellent location, clean room and helpful staff. However, the air conditioning performance was poor and later broke on the hottest day in London! No announcement or provisions for any guests.

Good service and staff friendly. Lights were faulty in our tower suite room meaning we had no light the next morning. Plus tower lounge was poorly sticked during the afternoon although breakfast in there was excellent.

Well worn-out hotel as you can expect from a hotel...

Well worn-out hotel as you can expect from a hotel with heavy traffic directly at the Healthrow Express city terminal. There always seems to be construction going on around this area so the main road entrance to the hotel was blocked by a large crane. The hotel should mention construction in the area but does not. There was a broken elevator apparently for quite some time and the other two elevators were extremely slow so consider not getting a room not on level 6. Room tip room 635 area was quiet but the view was blocked on that side. Beware of the hospital side and road traffic side as you might hear ambulances throughout the day and night. Cardless Keyless entry via Hilton app did not work. Check in and out needs more receptionist as a bit slow. Fast 50+Mbps wifi in the room. Those with allergies might beware of old carpeting that should be ripped out. A bit bored with Hilton nickel and dime tactics of very small shampoo and soap bottles, sandpaper like cheap toilet paper, charging for internet and bottled water if not a Hilton member in some locations and those refrigerator that you cannot move any items without being charged. Give me an option to have a fully stocked fridge and minibar or use the fridge for my personal food. Breakfast was alright Hilton standard. Bed was comfortable. Disappointed as expected more but there are better hotel options in the area a few steps away.

Someone else's old food left to go mouldy in the fridge wasn't very pleasant to see. Called housekeeping and was told they couldn't touch the fridge and that I had to call room service. Great customer service...why couldn't house keeping call room service? Who knows!! Try harder next time Hilton Paddington please!!

This is one SCARY hotel! Very unclean. Exposed wiring, would NEVER EVER stay at this hotel again. And this review is from a Hilton Diamond Member! This property is a disgrace to the Hilton name!

If you are going to label a hotel with the Hilton ...

If you are going to label a hotel with the Hilton name you should meet some standards. People were exceptionally nice and helpful. Room are awful, old, run down and looked like a third world cheap brand hotel. Had to change the first room as it was musky. Second room the thermostat was broken and we were freezing. Contacted them 3 times finally next morning they said yes it's broken and cold.
I feel a little ripped off and disappointed.

Great location - steps away from Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, and Little Venice. Convenient public transportation options as well - the Tube station across the street provides access to three lines - Circle, District, and Bakerloo, not to mention the ability to step onto the platforms of Paddington Station right from the hotel lobby. The building itself has a lot of history, but at the same time has all the amenities you'd expect from a modern 4* hotel in the heart of a major megapolis.

Location-wise this hotel is awesome especially when leaving for LHR or if you want to get around London since 5 London Underground lines (Bakerloo line, Circle line, District line, Circle line, and Hammersmith & City line) are located here. The property could use a little TLC (although the rooms in the GWR Tower are wonderful).

I have not ever stayed at this hotel, but I frequently use the hotel as a convenient place to meet with colleagues for short business meetings. We usually only have a few coffees, or sometimes a quick lunch, but it's always a good place to meet due to its very convenient location. Prices for drinks/lunch are expensive, but the convenience of the location easily makes up for this in my mind. Service can be very variable, so it is very hard to give 5 stars, but easily worthy of 4.

Excellent Location, Good service, excellent breakfast, suffered soft racism at hand of senior desk staff. The girl on the front desk gave a nice room on higher floor, a smug bearded senior behind her looked at me and asked her to change to small first floor room. Didn't wanted to create a scene at 10 pm. Obviously can't prove the motive but appeared as stated. It is the perception which matters in hospitality industry. Shame such a place has such staff.

Feel the warm welcome since the first step. Checking in is easy and convenient. Love the location, we could walk from the hotel to both underground and GWR. The executive lounge is very convenient. Love the terrace room which I could enjoy the good view and taking good night photographs. Checking out time is noon which they have extended to 1 pm. Only minor point on the elevator, a bit slow and stop moving from time to time otherwise one of my favorite will definitely be back.

Did not stay in a room but did use the lounge area for some business meetings.
After staying for a couple hours, was asked to move as "had been there for couple hours already".
The person attending the almost vacant cafe area was very rude with no appreciation of how to treat customers.

Considering I have used the facility a few times for business meetings. I don't intend to, going forward. Will inform my clients and colleagues accordingly.
The locations is good and hence the 2 stars but if the rest of the hotel is managed the way it is by the cafe manager, then no thanks.

I liked the combination of an old building atmosphere with updated hilton amenities. The staff was friendly and helpfull. Easy access from LHR via non stop express train. The tube is near by too, making it easy to get around. Would stay again.

High standard - high prices. Nice rooms, ideal location. The registration board insisting a bit too much to pre-authorize my credit card although the stay had already been fully paid at reservation stage. I refused twice since I knew the hotel would not incur additional costs .. It went to a point that my guest gave his card to avoid further discussion. Not well behaved manners from the desk attendant I think.

Despite setting the bath water temperature to 38 degrees, very hot water came out. The problem was that the set temperature did not match the temperature of the water coming out. I was almost burned.
I told the lady at the reception, but there was no apology from her. And she only told me to call an engineer.
The engineer had thrown away the bath water that I put bath salts of BVLGARI in without my permission when I returned my room.
Also, when I tried to enter the room for the first time, I couldn't use both my digital key and normal key.
This hotel is old and it may be good. However, the fluorescent lamps in the bath room are flashing, the window glass is very dirty and two of the three elevators were out of order.
French and Belgian Hilton staff are very kind. Also, even if the building was old, it was clean and I didn't feel it old.
I stayed at this hotel at the end of my trip to Europe and felt like everything was ruined.
I don't want to come to this Hilton again.

Great location attached to Paddington station so very easy to get around London on the Tube and also to Heathrow with the Express. Hotel is very nice, old school charm with modern amenities and touches throughout. Close to Hyde Park and walking distance to Abbey Rd. Will be staying again next year, we were pleasantly surprised.

The Only Star goes to the blonde Lady that was very helpful and friendly!

I am used to a flawless stay at Hilton but this time was a total disappointment. As always i expected the room I booked, decent size, bright, with a sofa and perfectly clean. My Suite was more like a chamber in the end. No good cleaning has happened, dark, no sofa, a smell i wasnt able to identify and with overused furniture. After I nearly cut my hand on the nails which came out of the desk my fiancee went to receiption to complain. The Woman wasn't really friendly but send someone to check the desk and housekeeping for the next day. The next day we went to receiption again, new person was a blonde and very very friendly Lady who tried her best to make us happy, even after my fiancee brought back the 'breakfast' which was just a joke, containing nearly nothing. Unfortunatley there was no other room we could use with a terrace, which was mandatory for us. But she said housekeeping took care of our room and the desk was fixed. When we came back at our room the bed was made, the dust was still their along with the weird smell. The desk still had nails coming out, so we better stayed away from it. Normally we would have left the Hotel immediatley but it was just a short stay and we sorted it out our own way and went to the City the whole day, so we just need to room to sleep somewhere. Still i wanted to give this feedback afterwards, since it was far far away from the normal Hilton expierience. Hopefully it will be recognized and things will be changed in this Hilton in London. For our next stay we sadly will choose a non Hilton.

Good hotel, fantastic location just next to Paddington station for easy transport to and from Heathrow. Walking distance to many other sites. Hotel staff and service is adequate, but understandable in view of the large volume of guests. All in all recommended.

Fair, ac could not Keep up. Hotel is a maze. Front desk was slow, Room was not ready, but they are at paddington and that is so darn convenient.

Update- in all fairness it was during the heatwave. I stayed there again and the lobby was still dysfunctional. Other than the long waits, the hotel is good. Just understand the traveler is your customer, suggest a floor person welcoming guests. I will not your lobby restaurant makes some incredible tea and coffee.

Having been a very loyal customer to Hilton Hotels (silver member) and having stayed at Hilton Paddington 10 plus nights this year, I was extremely disappointed that this morning the Luggage room wouldn't store my large suitcase for 1 extra day instead just informing of hotel policy. This was despite me telling them I was a loyal customer and had stayed here many times before. So much for showing great service. I won't be staying at the Hilton Hotels again, will take my business elsewhere.

Nice hotel. Clean and well appointed. Very convenient to Paddington Station (and trains to/from Heathrow*) and the shopping within. Close to the underground. Lots of food and shopping nearby.

* Heathrow Express and TfL, which have a few more stops, but can be considerably cheaper.

Excellent location - right at the Paddington station itself making it easy to access. Many shopping and eateries near by. Just opposite to the hotel, underground entry is located making the hotel well connected with other parts of London. Food is good, but prices are higher. Room ambiance, cleanliness and maintenance are good. Room rates are higher but compared to other advantages for staying a day or two, this is best option

I never had a terrible experience before in any ot...

I never had a terrible experience before in any other global chain brand hotels. I stayed there for 2 nights, every night I met different problems...but most of the problems were due to the oldness of the hotel, that s fine. (e.g. Broken control pad of AC, unstable water temperature, mistake of key making...)

But all the points I disappointed were about the attitude of the staff or the hotel,

1. For each issue I met, I had to wait for over 30mins for a response, sometimes 1 round was not enough.

2. All the face to face conversation, my feeling was that they have to solve the problems for me, not are willing to help me.

3. Double standard, in my first room, there were no slippers, cups of toothbrush and some basic things. Reducing the usage of this kind of disposable items is becoming a tendency to protect the environment, I m totally accept that. But when I was upgraded to a bigger room, they had everything.

This kind of differentiation was totally meaningless and making me uncomfortable..

4. The reception forgot to told me that the breakfast time was different between weekend and working days, that made me late and had an embarrassing conversation with their staffs in the restaurant.

Anyway, I had a tough weekend there, did a lot of extra and unnecessary efforts for asking for a normal service which I should have...Super disappointed...

Re: Susan

The check-in info you provided is not right and it s also not important for all my disappointments.

If you can provide a real Hilton level service, I don t need and care the upgrade.

You also don t need to reconfirm the breakfast time, if your reception staff remembered to inform me at the first time, I won t make it wrong.

Please face all the problems the customers had met, don t lose focus!

Rooms are a good size for the location, the location of the hotel is excellent and the door staff and concierge are very helpful. On the other hand, it is twice the price of most hotels in the area.

Had afternoon tea at 149. It was pretty good but didn't shine. The space is a bit gentlemanly but the tea area is quite attractive and bright. The sandwiches were a bit dry and skimpy except for the smoked salmon, which was generous. They offer more helpings of sandwiches. Only one scone per person as opposed to the usual two. The cakes were small but delicious. Service was friendly.

The location of Hilton Paddington is great- directly at the station with direct fast train connection to Heathrow. International standards, kind personnel.
Only negative- while waiting in the lobby for a meeting, I did not get much attention to order a tea and once done, it took a while until it arrived,

Loved staying at the new wing of the Hilton paddington. The look and feel was very modern with an exquisite taste. And great finishing. You will feel right at home in the hotel. It is centrally located at the paddington train station and with the heathrow express you will be at heathrow airport in 15 minutes. There are also some assortment of shops and stores in the vicinity as well.
