Front desk Staff is great.

Front desk Staff is great.
Location is great.
Housekeeping /in room dining is below average
But the hotel seems to be stuck in the last century.
No free water.
They give those small mineral water bottles upon check in. That's it.
No focus on being eco friendly and sustainable.
The look and feel of the hotel is also very old. As if no major renovation or facelift has been done since it was established.

Hilton Cairns is wonderful. Their housekeeping was happy to accommodate our request and are very thoughtful. The front desk are very helpful and friendly as well. The pillow, mattress, and blanks are sooo soft. It feels like you are sleeping on clouds. The best part is they have a hot tub/jacuzzi, which is perfect to end the night.

We had a drink in the foyer bar, great! Then dinner in the Italian restaurant, ordered a shared entree, and mains with side dishes. Had to remind waiter to bring side dish, it came after we had finished our main meal. Had a good night.

Good sized rooms, comfortable beds and nice volume showers. The hotel hits the right notes on the most important items.

The building and immediate surroundings are a bit dated and could use a refresh. The view from half rooms is pretty nice, overlooking the lagoon.

There is plenty of staff available to help you. And there are always plenty of Uber drives available in the immediate vicinity.

Great hotel in fantastic location

Great hotel in fantastic location
Definitely recommend this hotel
Got the Premier Suite and loved it immensely
Perfect if you have a large family and you can get the adjoining room. Very impressive with separate kitchen, living, dining and sleeping areas with a massive verandah overlooking the lake.
Room service is superb and the staff are very helpful here especially Blair and Jimmy. Thanks very much!

I debated between the Doubletree and the Hilton (what can I say, I m a brand girl), and after talking with one of the people who switched hotels to the Hilton in the Executive lounge I m super glad I went with the Hilton. Sitting in the Executive Lounge for the nightly reception with a glass of wine, watching the sunset over the mountains and the bats flying right along the baloney is a memory I m going to cherish!

The location was perfect. A short walk to the reef terminal, a short walk to anything in the city center, amazing waterfront views. I was upgraded to a spa room with a harbor view which was amazing after a long day of swimming on the reef. The beds were comfortable, easy to sleep in! The bathrooms were huge. The room overall was a bit dated, but still a very nice place to stay in. Breakfast was great either downstairs or in the lounge if you have access. I tried both the lounge was more cold food and hard boiled eggs, while downstairs had hot buffet foods.

They have a desk dedicated to booking excursions and the lady working it knows her stuff! She talked to me about my interests and steered me away from one of the more tourists trips to a small group trip that fit my interest in hiking and exploring much better. Plus she helped me book with a reef diving trip that had things like prescription snorkel glass rental! It was that level of service that really made the trip.

Overall good experience. Buffet breakfast is not the best and importantly coffee and tea are not included... Good location, close to shops and the nearby lagoon as well as the esplanade. Rooms are spacious with sun drenched balconies and inviting beds. Would recommend although bit over priced.

Staff were amazing from the moment I arrived to when I left. Felt very special as the guest of the day and appreciated the room upgrade, bottle of wine and extras that came with that. Will stay again for sure. Thanks !

Lovely hotel, rooms and amenities. Breakfast fantastic choice and very friendly and helpful staff. Only negative points, understaffed at breakfast time and small breakfast area as having to queue outside to wait for a free table.

Tourist trap, for real.. Went out for dinner, drove into their underground carport as all on street parking was taken. After dinner tried to leave and we're confronted with a gate that wouldn't open unless you had a token or 10 dollars in coins. 10 bucks for an hour parking! Ridiculous, then there are no machines to buy a token or get change. You must enter the labyrinth of signs to a mystical lobby that only can be found with a Sherpa... Luckily while lost for a while I found a chef who worked at the Hilton who took me through staff only doors to find the magic lobby. This place is a joke. Still had to pay 10 dollars for my hour parking, plus time lost while trying to find the lobby.

Excellent service and staff. The breakfast buffet had good variety as well. The location was prime - less than 5 min from the reef boat dock, a number of high-end restaurants and the Cairns night market. I would definitely stay at the Hilton again for the location alone.
the room itself wasn't very impressive and was pretty basic, but the view could not be beat!

Good location. Good view. Good condition of the shower. I do not get cold on the way. There is a JTB desk. The glass partitions in the shower room are too short and absolute water will splash. When the bath was filled with hot water, the hot water decreased with time. WiFi was usable for free. It says that it is paid, so maybe there is a plan or something? I think everyone at JTB was getting it.
The video seems to be useless because it will soon exceed the capacity when you see it.
Speaking to force, I'm glad it is a bit brighter. I want a lace curtain. And it was hard to get rid of the small ants that appeared out of nowhere.

Checked in as a wheelchair guest and paid for an upgrade to water view room. The room they checked us into was not the room we paid for and had one queen instead of two doubles and a babies cot. We got moved to the correct room as a guest tried opening the door to our new room just after checking in. Turns out they checked us and another guest into the same room.

Went to use the pool and followed signage to find out the pool isn t accessible with a huge set of stairs. I went to the reception and asked if there was another way. There was which entailed a journey through function rooms and gardens.

The hotel is old and found long hair all over the floor. Won t be staying again.

Great location right on the water that is also close to downtown Cairns. Room was just as described, staff very friendly, and a great buffet breakfast in the morning. Looking forward to checking back in after our dive trip.

Unfortunately, the Cairns Hilton is very tired and dated. Very underwhelmed with the standard of the rooms. First "Superior King Room" smelled so badly of body odour, that we requested an upgrade to the "Spa Suite" The assistant manager was very obliging and said they would cover the cost. The spa was so small that two of us could not even fit in there together! There was very visible rust on the table legs and cigarette burns in the bed base. Very poor standard. Having previously stayed at the Shangri La, I know where we will be heading next time.

This is one of, if not the best hotel I have ever stayed at! Absolutely amazing buffet for breakfast! Rooms are spotless, staff are always friendly. Location could not be any better. I strongly recommend.

Nice rooms with all the amenities you would expect at a Hilton, great view to the sea and walking distance to the ferry terminal and esplanade. They renovate, so we were able to hear the renovations starting at 7am, not that great. The breakfast was really great and staff very helpful.

Pros: very good seaview from my room.

Pros: very good seaview from my room.
Cons: Are You really sure that glass door in shower is big enough to protect floor from flooding? Always all floor in my bathroom was wet. When I stepped into toilet area my legs became wet. Floor was wet all the time. It's disgusting!
Second - if you will continue to hire cleaning staff l for very cheap without any filters and providing training then your guests will have more problem than just a stolen t-shirt.
I forgot my t-shirt when checking out. It was left in the capboard. I am absolutely sure about it. Upon returning in 2 days time I requested the lost tshirt and was said that no tshirt was found. O no! Your name is Hilton, no "Super beach great view paradays resort" but HILTON.
It is a shame on you.

This hotel is located on the marina and has water views. The staff is friendly and attentive. Breakfast requires a voucher, which you will receive upon check in. The rooms are spacious and standard hotel furniture. Overall, this hotel is good for a longer stay.

The one star is for the 5 star hospitality we got from the lady who looked after breakfast in the executive lounge, she made sure to have gluten free products for me. I think her name was Ann.

Other than that it was disappointing!

My partner and I had initially booked a king executive room with a mountain-city view and then received an email offer with an upgrade to a mountain-water for an additional $23 per night, which we opted in for.

Upon check in, we were greeted with a free bottle of wine and late checkout for apparently being guest of the day that s was nice and unexpected.

As we got to the room, we found that it wasn t a king room, instead, the room had 2 double beds.
The reception staff they told us that the king rooms were all sold, and the solution they offered was to refund us for the upgrade and put us into a king mountain- city view, or to stay one night in the room allocated to us and then move us if a king mountain-water view comes available the next day.
It made me wonder why they would offer the upgrade when they didn t have any king rooms available- and then thought the free bottle of wine was probably because of this!
We decided to stay in the room and later spoke to another reception staff and demanded to take the upgrade fee off, and they agreed.

The view was nice, but the rooms need major updating! There s hardly any light in the room, and two of the reading lights didn t work.
The aircon was very noisy and leaked, and even though the temperature was on about 18 degrees it felt very hot in the middle of the night. And the tv was probably 20 years old with bad reception and some channels didn t work.

At the end of our stay, as we went to settle the bill, they didn t bother to ask about our stay as other hotels do.
And as they were reading out the bill, they told us that in view of the room not being what we booked, that they would waive the upgrade fee - UH NO! We had to demand that fee to be taken off!
Only to find out that they charged the card they had on file the full amount (inc the upgrade fee). They realised that they d incorrectly charged us and fixed it but failed to tell us until we went back and asked why they charged us the upgrade fee.
