In my mind an average but very pricey hotel in an excellent environment. For a dinner treat I strongly suggest to look for a restaurant elsewhere as their offerings did not meet the expectations of the group.
But the location is amazing, so that makes up for something.

We have stayed at this hotel several times. The property is gorgeous. The rooms here are very nice and you get what you pay for. The staff here is nice and are very welcoming. There are great views of the cliffs and ocean from all the rooms. The golf course is beautiful and the walking path is very nice. The restaurant here has a great selection of food, but the service can be little slow sometimes. There is not really anything within walking distance of here so I would recommend having a car here. There is a park down the street where you can watch the gliders which is a lot of fun. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the bathroom and shower are very luxurious. My only complaint is that every time we stay here it seems to always be very loud in the hallways which can be annoying when you are trying to sleep. If you want a room with a nice view make sure to get a 3rd or 4th floor room. 2nd floor rooms have a nice terrace, but have no view and lots of noise from the pool. If you are looking to stay at a place where you can relax, have beautiful views and unwind, you should look no further than here!

Had a pretty terrible experience. The rooms are dark, hall ways feels exceedingly claustrophobic, and front desk staff not helpful. Walls are so thin, you should expect to hear everyone's business all around you. When I was checking out to catch early flight, got stuck in the parking garage elevator for 5 minutes, and also at the garage exit gate, as the electronic key stopped to function. Would not recommend.

It is conveniently located along la Jolla shore and it is about 10-15mins walk to the beach. The public golf course next to it is beautiful. Everything is neat and tidy. Their buildings and rooms are a bit old. The door was making loud noise and their hair dryer was falling apart and should be replaced. YMMV

Stayed here for a conference, booking extra days prior for some leisure. Check-in took too long, directions on how to get to room presented on a map UPSIDE DOWN, causing us to go opposite direction. He could not understand we were paying only for extra nights. Confused, thinking we wanted the Corporation holding the conference to pay for those nights, he was going to leave his post to inquire...NO, WE ARE PAYING FOR NIGHTS IN OUR NAME! On way to room, aisles filled with people from other conferences, could not get thru with our luggage. Walked around, looking lost, numerous staff members passed us with no offer of helping. Found one nice employee to help, and shared our frustration, to which she reponded that this is common!!!! To top it off, got sick during our stay, AND parked car got hit in the parking garage=$2krepairs! First attempt to contact security resulted in NO CALL RETURNED by the newbie who promised to have his boss return my call. My 2nd attempt resulted in talking with boss who had heard nothing and wondered why the employee did not put us in touch with the Parking Company (don't care, I'm dealing with Hilton), completed a report and asked for my $91 in parking fees to be credited...NO RESPONSE, even after reminder email. Should have stayed at our favorite inn on the beach...this place was absolutely unprofessional and unfriendly!!! We love Hilton and stay at locations US-wide, never in La Jolla again!

Overall my stay at Torrey Pines has been quite delightful, unfortunately I have yet to properly explore all of the amenities that come with the hotel but they are rather numerous and the pool is rather beautiful.

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The hotel staff were friendly and the restaurant served great food. Hilton la Jolla is situated in a beautiful location right next to a golf course and on the ocean front. However, If your looking to visit any other parts of the city you'll need a car because you are unable to walk

After checking out of a terrible motel in hotel circle, We checked in here. We were greeted with smiles and a warm welcome. The staff was friendly and took good care of us! We loved our room, and the view and the pool! My son and I had a great stay. We loved the breakfast and sitting outside with a view of the ocean and a cool breeze while we ate dinner was perfect! It was quiet and the room was really nice, bed was comfortable, tv was awesome, and they eve had cookies and milk for the kiddos one night! We will add Hilton Torrey Pines to our list of places to stay again. Highly recommend!

The one star is for location.

The one star is for location.
Outdated hotel, staff wasn't interested in solving the guest needs.
We booked our room with 2 months in advance. Noted we'd check in at 11:30pm.
When we arrived and told the front desk emoloyee our name he just turned around and left, not without asking a night admin to take care of us.
Poor lady she had to give us the news that they sold our room and had no rooms to give us.
They offered a cot bed mattress in a auxiliary room. (#3095). Please avoid that room at all cost. It looks like out of the movie 1408.
Even the bell boy gave us a skirmish look when found out which room they gave us.
Breakfast was bad.

Overall, it feels like a 3 star road hotel that once (25 years ago) was maybe decent.

For a 1 week stay, there are not many eatting choices. Minor issues with the room. No view unless you pay more for higher floors. Everything is extra. $7 For a bowl of cereal with no milk is outrageous. Golf is great if you can afford it.

I went for a company event. This place is huge with lot of parking.
The hall where the event was very well occupied. Outside the hall was the eating areas and door opens to open law . Very beautiful place indeed.
Parking is super expensive though $30.

One of the worst experiences I had and I wish I didn't book at this Hilton. I stayed for one night, their customer service is horrible. The rooms are pricey and they don't give you a room with a view despite of asking for that.
Briefly, it is not worth it.

The worst hotel I have ever been to. First they mess up my bill and take 35 minutes to correct it! I am not sure if they are hoping I get tired and just walk away paying extra or what. But it does not stop there- they never actually corrected the bill, even though we corrected it by credit card. After I got home, they illegally went back on my bill and re-charged me for the erroneous charge I waited 35 minutes to take off! I called the credit card company to let them know the story. I also called the hotel and long story short, they (unapologetically, unethusiastically) corrected their mistake for the second time. I will never ever ever return to this or any Hilton ever for this mistake.

Sweetness! This place is the perfect getaway. Unfortunately, I didn't get to fully enjoy myself here because I arrived late and had to leave early the next morning. At night there is nothing to see and you can drive right past the turn off point if you aren't paying close attention, GPS fail. During the early morning the weather is perfect and the view of the golf course is amazing when not too foggy. The view is what Pechanga tries to copy but doesn't live up to it. Besides Torrey Pines is a very well-known golf course that I hope to play on one day when I won't make a fool of myself.

I love how every room has a view based on the W Shaped building of the hotel. Also, you can't beat the patio or balconies that I will be sure to use next time I visit. My first time was just business and I didn't get to enjoy the way I wanted too. I didn't get to use the pool or fitness center. I set my alarm early before my appointment but I was too lazy and relax to get up. The bar lounge did have a fair share of late night drinkers on a week night. I would also image this place is great for weddings.

I will be back for a weekend getaway but so far so good. Much better than Pechanga based on the service and no casino smoke.

If it weren't for the location I'd give this hotel 1 star. It has beautiful views, I mean ocean and lush green landscaping and a golf course.. how can you go wrong? But this is first and foremost a hotel, which means people come here to stay overnight, to sleep... Well, be warned: the beds are hard as a rock, the pillows are beyond uncomfortable, small, and comparable to a 2-3 star establishment, and the blanket -- if you could call it that -- was little more than a thin fleece throw blanket one might use when watching TV. Yes, it was king size, but I'd hardly consider it sufficient to be the only blanket for a bed.

This is our go to hotel without any doubt when we go to La Jolla. It s gorgeous, well maintained, clean , located in the most awesome spot next to a beautiful golf course and the staff are very kind and friendly. On top of that the price is amazing. Unfortunately I don t have any picture to post but you will plenty of them posted by other people.

Nickel & dime every thing. $10/night for WiFi is ridiculous when local coffee shops offer it for free. Plus the connection is very slow, I have a faster connection from my phone's mobile hotspot.

We had an awesome experience at the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines from Nov.24-Nov.28. We especially enjoyed the bar and the service of bartender Annie J. She was always smiling, pleasant, and made us feel like we were always welcomed.

The location has a great view. This was our third stay here but there were some problems. We had a pool view this time, which meant we had to keep the window closed a lot. At night, there were some drunk sales bros talking pretty loud on the patio after 11pm (weeknight). The next day, power washing/leaf blower/hedge trimmer were going on from about 9am to 1pm. Not relaxing, especially when we were sitting by the pool. Get a non-pool-overlook room if you can.

My Brother, myself and a friend had the pleasure of being guests during the Christmas holidays. Unfortunately, I miss placed my wallet. The security was exceptional and went above an beyond to retrieve my wallet. My wallet was found by the kind security officer, who I believe his name was Jim. I travelled the coast of California several times and found this location to be my favorite. favorite. Thank you again to the exceptional staff and especially to the security personnel.

I have to be honest, this is the worst hotel I've ...

I have to be honest, this is the worst hotel I've stayed at in ages. It's not gross or dangerous, but it did not live up to its reputation. We found issues with basic infrastructure that I have not seen in other hotels rated this highly:

* Front desk staff discourteous and unhelpful.
* Check-in was a challenge. We needed an additional room for a member of our party; their booking system claimed they had no available rooms, then claimed many available rooms. Very confusing.
* Grill restaurant is poor quality for the price. Fish tacos were nearly raw.
* Air conditioning in the room was extremely poor quality; we had to crank the temperature down to 65 to get a bearable, consistent 70.
* Room has a refrigerator, but the refrigerator barely functioned.
* Internet was complimentary, but incredibly unreliable; it would simply cut out for minutes at a time, randomly (I am writing this review from a network tether over my cellphone's data plan).
* We asked for a room make-up at a specific time; cleaning staff did not arrive for an hour and a half. They were very courteous, but explained that the front desk hadn't transmitted my indication that we needed the room cleaned at a specific time, so they'd just added it to their work queue.
* Pool max depth is 5 feet; no diving.
* Coffee cart is constantly closed; difficult to get a cup of coffee after noon in the hotel.
* Staff at coffee cart claims to be selling Starbucks products; is selling off-brand.
* Last day of stay, we were excited to use the pool; discovered it was closed from 6 to 9PM for a private function. On the plus side, Hilton La Jolla lets you rent out the entire pool area for a private function! ;)

Pros for the hotel:
* clean
* fire pits are nice
* outdoor jacuzzi is nice

A four-night stay planned. Room was filthy with dust, rugs appeared worn and never vacuumed. Room service skipped our room and we had to ask for service as the carts rolled by the next day. Room service food was good, but selection was extremely limited and prices astoundingly high with add-ons for delivery and a 22% gratuity PLUS tax. Staff from many different functions like snack shop, gift shop and even front desk were totally inept or spoke inappropriately to customers. On-site Wi-Fi was dismally sporadic. Pool area was unattended, furniture filthy and inescapable loud music annoying. Would never return based on this experience.

When our venue was first the Hotel del Coronado and had to get switched to this hotel I was very sceptical. I can't tell you how pleasantly surprised I was. This hotel was a great experience. Staff and service was beyond 5 stars, plus beautiful with large rooms and great views. It's a perfect location, next to a golf course, minutes away from the beautiful la jolla shores beach, near the center of the main town of La Jolla and the recently remodeled UTC, I can't think of a better location in San Diego.

Nice stay. The room was spacious and comfortable. I unfortunately didn't have a great view, but there are some rooms with beautiful views. Didn't get to spend much time on the grounds as I was there for work, but it appears nice. For those who golf, they do offer tee times at nearby Torrey Pines if you contact them.

All staff members we encountered were polite, helpful and knowledgable.

Gets a 2 only because its on Torrey Pines and close to the beaches. Walked in and was greeted by a cordial front desk, but I grew sour on the place within 2 mins when she asked "self park (25 bucks a day or valet (30 bucks a day)?" 25 bucks a day to SELF PARK IN A GARAGE? And you are still met by an attendant that holds you up when entering and leaving the garage. What a joke. No thanks. Will be ending this week stay early just because of that. You give them multiple hundreds of dollars a night to stay in a room already. And they want to screw you around with that fee added on top? A fee you aren't even aware you are walking into until you check in. Not even mentioning you won't even be parking in there but at night since you're vacationing and already unloading money elsewhere during the day.

They Dont tell you about how they Handle "incidentals" they hold $100 a day and that it will take 2 to 3 weeks to get it back. When you call them they blame your bank and tell you to call them, of course the bank says its what they put on hold and when they release the funds it will be available right away. At no point does the Hilton tell you the way they charge. And Dont call the Torry pines Hilton to help because all they say is its too bad its your banks fault. Service here is very sub par.
