I wouldn't come back here out of choice. I'm not sure what Hotel needs to "check rooms" within 24hrs of checking-in if I have the do not disturb sign on the door!
I would give zero if this was an option on Google!
Very comfortable hotel with great views overlooking the pacific coast
Parking needs to be more organized. Less than what I expected for a Hilton but still overall very nice place.
Nice, clean and quiet. Great view of the golf course and close to Torrey Pine Beach.
I stayed here for a business conference with my wife. The amenities were fantastic and the staff was great, especially Neil at the front desk. He went above and beyond to help my wife and I enjoy our time at Torrey Pines.
Loved my stay at the Hilton La Jolla. Despite the tough times the staff is working very hard to please the visitors. I drink a lot of my own coffee and I asked for a Keurig machine for my room and they actually gave me the one from the employee's Lounge because I guess they don't have Keurig machines in the rooms there at the Hilton seems like they should.
Attended wedding as guest. Nice location in San Diego. Golf course well maintained. Servers were professional. Food was amazing. Celebration went along without complications.
This was a magical place that everyone who likes luxury places should experience it. Thanks to Jelena A, our friend and tourist guide :) we had such a wonderful time.
Updated Hilton overlooking Torrey Pines Golf Course and close to Scripps Memorial. It is not that great a location for visitors unless you have a car, as there aren't any places within reasonable walking distance for dining or shopping. But the access to the golf course is nice for those who want to hut the greens.
I usually love staying at this Hilton property because of the access to a full fitness center next door as well as their breakfast buffet with daily variety. My minor complaint is that I arrived in my room and saw a hanger dangling from the emergency water spray in the bathroom. I'm assuming it was left by the previous guest, but would hope it was caught by housekeeping. Second, there was some sort of sales conference going on and the group was fairly loud in the hallways at all hours. Their actual conference started around 8AM with a loud fog horn sound. Not a welcome noise level at breakfast.
I loved the land scaping theare the gardens are very beautiful
Service was very good. Room was comfortable and clean!
Starting to get a bit dated. But if you like this style, why not? 3 stars due to the cold/lukewarm shower I had to endure this morning... They did get that fixed eventually though.
The driveway at the entrance to the hotel has such a big drop that I destroyed my bumper . And you can t even see it . I guess customers deserve at least a warning on the hotel side :(
I have mixed feelings about the hotel. I have stayed here at least fifteen times. It has gone downhill a lot about monitoring the groups of drunk people out by the fire pit or people partying on their decks. The noise really carries to all the rooms and it makes it almost impossible to enjoy the wonderful views or enjoy the fresh air. That makes me question recommending it. Some people like catching up on sleep while on vacation, but that isn't very possible here. The overall vibe is noisy and that is catchy.
The rooms are a little musty and are in need of a deep cleaning. And the doors slam really loudly. This can be a bit much early or late. And again, never mind getting caught up on sleep.
It is a very busy place with many conventions and groups. It is not easy to have a quiet romantic getaway. There is a lot of noise.
That said, it is a spectacular location. The beds are comfortable. The staff is excellent. The food at the Toreyana Grille is good. And we love using the Spa at Torrey Pines next door. The beach in Del Mar is close and so nice.
The grounds are breathtaking. It is like a Botanical Garden. The pool area is gorgeous.
So depending on your type of travel, and if noise bothers you, this may just be the ideal La Jolla location for you.
While the room was somewhat nice the billing experience was a nightmare. Be prepared to pay double hotel fees. Sure they will charge one fee upfront but then another resort fee for an overpriced drink and the only thing worse than tap water a bottle of Arrowhead left in the room. The real kicker was the smoking charge of $250 despite no guests smoking in the room.
Rooms are great but you have to watch for fog blocking your view!
We took a tour as we are planning an event in the area. This hotel has it all, recently renovated rooms, amazing beach/golf course/cliff views and reasonable price. The staff was also very friendly.
I visited this hotel two years ago and it was beautiful and amazing. There were flowers everywhere and I couldn t wait to come back to share it with my husband Now we are here and everything is brown, no flowers, and even much of the golf course is brown. I called ahead to make sure pool was open as well as pool bar and grill but on our first day found the pool bar to have closed several hours early for the day. The staff is friendly and overworked . my hope is that this hotel gets back to its old condition as it is an amazing location. Due to covid we are doing outdoor activities including the beautiful hiking trails near by. We had hoped to enjoy the pool but no music, no flowers and they make you leave every two hours to clean it. We just came from another hotel and the contrast was unmistakable. I am sad to say we are moving back to that hotel for the remainder of our stay. This beautiful old hotel could use some updating as well.
Pool was very nice, rooms were clean and well kept, unfortunately had to wait an hour for it to be cleaned but there was a wedding going on at the same time so that could be why
The courtyard where we held the event overlooked the ocean during the sunset. It was breathtaking!
Rooms were clean. Service and people were friendly. Would come back.
Absolutely beautiful! The views are incredible looking out over the golf course and the Pacific Ocean as a background. Rooms are clean, spacious and clean.
Parking too pricey, hotel guests should atleast get a discounted rate or free parking specially if they are staying multiple nights at the hotel. The other thing that didn t really come to par is the hotel room that we were in because when we got in our mini fridge is not cleaned or sanitized because the previous guests leftovers are still in the fridge.I asked the housekeeper if she could clean it but unfortunately she has limited english. So i have to call frontdesk and have to try 3x to get someone to clean/sanitize it.
The pool is pretty crowded eventhou its 50 capacity.
The lady i asked at the restaurant made my day! I asked her where i can get coffee since the starbucks is closed so early. She came back with coffee and condiments on hand and she apologized for any inconvenience! Too bad i didnt get her name.
Shocked - charged me 31$ a day for parking. I was furious. I can get a motel for $31 a night. Hilton is nicer but Sheesh!!! My car was not happy either I.
Excellent hotel. Great view, and a golf course right out side
Special place! Amazing views of the golf course and ocean vistas!
I can only speak to the restaurant and lobby, but the food was great as was the service. Unfortunately, the lobby wasn't able to tell me where the meeting I was attending was being held
The front desk staff are way too slow. Continually have to wait an excessive amount fo time before being seen with out acknowledgement.
Such a beautiful facility. I look forward to being able to stay longer next time.
The rooms are beautiful, the food was all delicious, and the staff was very friendly. The only complaimy i would have is the pillows are thin.
Awful all around. Parking price is OFFENSIVE. Old disgusting rooms, and ABSOLUTELY no cell service! Never again
Smoker's paradise. No-smoking policy, but smoke-infested ashcan of a motel. Management not responsive to concerns, and lets smokers stink up the joint relentlessly. Gross. Reposting this review because it was "disappeared" somehow.
Wonderful hotel, beautiful view from my balcony, friendly and warm reception and service, and excellent food. Highly recommend this hotel!!
The service was great. I had a couple of large packages delivered and there was no issues, they even helped me load them into my vehicle. The pool and lounge areas are super nice.
I stayed her last week for a business trip. The hotel room was dirty. There was hair in the bathtub and used lotion under the bed. I got scabies from staying here. I do not recommend. I called the hotel manager (Tim) and left a message regarding the sanitary conditions and he never bothered to return my call.
Grounds are fantastic, so is the staff, and the breakfast buffet was really good too. Rooms are large enough and the view was really nice. I paid for the celebration package which included free breakfast and sparkling wine chilled in your room upon arrival. I reminded the staff about this upon check in, but never received my breakfast vouchers or the chilled wine to celebrate my anniversary. That was disappointing, but not as disappointing as the cleanliness of the room. Carpet was not vacuumed, and the bathroom had hairs on the floor and in the shower, you could see where the maid had mopped the floor and mopped around the trash can instead of picking it up. left a lot of dirt in the corner spreading out by about a foot. Just lazy cleaning. The hair though really grossed me out. The other thing I did not like was the $31 parking fee!!! What, that should be included, its a parking lot... And $27 resort fee... I really do not like paying BS fees. Thumbs down to that. On a brighter note the hotel did compensate me 50% off my stay, but i will not be back. Too many other places to stay here.
I will start of by saying that I would not recommend this hotel. To make this simple I will make a list.
Pros: Clean rooms
Cons:
SELF parking is $30+ a day
mediocre breakfast $30 a person
16 oz arrowhead water.. $5
Charge to use the Coffee bar in your room
Daily resort fee (not included w/ price of your room)
Underwhelmed staff
Deposit per night $100
Save your money and stay somewhere else. Will not be returning.
Great place very peaceful waiting area with stunning views
My visit was simple to pick up someone, but the person's I picked up loved the place.
Excellent hotel! Great service here. Beautiful location in La Jolla. Would come back here again!
Wonderful place for vacation! Good service and reasonable price. They have a great view!
Great facility. Dining experience was nice. Very friendly and accommodating staffs.
Loved the rooms and the amenities. While the restaurant was great I felt it was a bit overpriced especially for breakfast.
We enjoyed our stay here over Easter. The check-in staff and concierge staff were friendly and easy to work with. Staff were all friendly and said hi everyday to us. The hotel is located nicely and is close to the Torrey Pines Golf Course and State Park. We took Lyft rides into La Jolla and surrounding areas so we did not pay a daily parking fee. I would recommend this hotel and would consider staying here again in the future.
Just an average hotel the only cool thing about it is the one free beer and coffee
Old style hotel should be off the Hilton network low ceilings old carpet worn out towels no microwave in room. Charge a mandatory $27 resort fee. Would not stay here again.
The front test lady did not respect little kids who is used to translating for their parents. The front test said Let the parents talk first in a mean way
My husband and we went to this hotel for my birthday and no one from the hotel staff had the courtesy to congratulate me, besides not being very friendly, they showed like they do the Job as obligation, the rooms have a good view beautiful location but the room have a lot of musty smell.
We stayed here wanting to explore La Jolla. The staff was amazing, the property was beautiful, there is a restaurant and Starbucks on site. This is an excellent location if you're planning to golf at Torrey Pines. However, it was a 20 minute Uber/Lyft ride to La Jolla where we ended up spending most of our time.
Loooooved this place. Clean. Staff was super friendly. Everything is super close too. And there s a trail that you can get to from the hotel. Beautiful! Simply beautiful.
Great customer service and comfortable rooms, clean, beautiful pool area.
The view. The view. The view. The room was gorgeous as well and staff was very nice. Yes.
I went to the Hilton at Torrey Pines to see their wedding venues. Cheri Walker gave me a tour of the gardens, pool, and ballrooms. The views are absolutely stunning!
Outstanding hotel with many amenities.
Views of the Pacific breathtaking.
Highly recommend.
Good views from rooms of golf course and the Ocean. Parking is paid and a little expensive.
Great location, great views. The conference space is comfortable as well.
Easy check in. Got an upgrade with a view of the ocean. Comfy bed, nice bathroom, and clean
HotelStaffs were very friendly. Rooms were clean and good sizes. Have good memories with my girlfriends and will visit this place once again.
Not sure where to start. From the front desk staff, not being helpful to the place needing some renovation.
Worst customer service I have ever experienced at a Hilton hotel. I'm a Diamond member for over 15 years, they didn't care. They did not "Make it Right", as their slogan goes! We moved hotels. Also be aware there is a $31 parking fee and $30 resort fee. Resort? This is a hotel with a pool! Better hotels in Del Mar and La Jolla!
The hotel is beautiful with awesome view of the pool, golf course and ocean. The room is pretty and the bed is comfy. One thing I noticed was the faucet was really hard to turn on and off and the shower head was full of calcium build ups. You can hear airplane quite often during the days.
Friendly staff, tasty appetizers. The nachos are excellent and local beer selection is on point
Wonderful facilities. Fantastic views. Friendly staff. Pool and hot tub A+
The pool was so cold, breakfast buffet was so expensive, parking was expensive, front desk was not very welcoming. Its my fault for expecting something a little more decent than what I experienced. I also can not find where I was told there will be a resort charge and it was never mentioned at check in or check out. Also, I had called ahead of me placing the reservation to ask if parking was included (since I was on a budget) in all rooms and operator said yes. When I saw the charges on my credit card I called the hotel asking why since I wasn t expecting parking and resort fees and the lady answered me with an annoyed tone. I travel so much and never had to take time to review a hotel but I definitely wont be returning to a Hilton.
We stayed during covid so we understand completely that the hotel has had to make some changes, none of those issues are in relation to those changes.
1. Really run down, the whole building and the rooms were being sold for a price that should reflect a better taken care of property.
2. They charged a resort fee even though we couldn't exactly use the property ( we just stayed to have a view of the water so we were fine with everything being closed)
3. The breakfast was a no go. We had the egg scramble, my husband said they tasted like army eggs, for $17 dollars. They were kind and refunded our whole order. (But these employees are still working so a tip was still left because they need the support)
4. PROBABLY THE MOST IMPORTANT
I could hear every single thing all of our nieghbors did, including using the restroom. That means they could also hear us. The whole point of a horel room is privacy, there was zero.
