BEAUTIFUL HOTEL ! My wife and I decided to drive up to Torrey Pines on Xmas Day for an exercise walk. After enjoying fabulous lattes at The Grill at Torrey Pines Lodge next door we went for a walk and ended up here. The hotel is much bigger than first appearances ( over 400 rooms ) and we wandered throughout checking out the awesome view which most guests get to enjoy and the elegant restaurant. Marco the restaurant host was very helpful and let us peruse the lunch /dinner menus plus the invaluable DESSERT menu. The bar looked inviting and I think we may drive up here for dinner one day soon.

I originally left a 5 star review for this hotel. The service seemed nice and prompt, everything was clean, and it was great until 2 days after my stay. Then a mysterious $97 charge showed up on my credit card. After calling the hotel to inquire why I had been charged $97, assuming it was some sort of mixup in room damages I found out that I had unknowingly been charged $27 a day to park my own car. The desk never informed me of the cost, nor did I give them authorization to my card for parking fees. I think this practice is incredibly disingenuous, and leaves a sour note on a otherwise pleasant stay.

Terrible customer service. Great location but you are playing roulette on your satisfaction if they are overbooked. Trust me, not worth it when things go bad. This location overbooks to covers its rooms. My friends had to wait hours in lobby prior to getting a room, front end management even admitted they were running at -2. Hilton should be better than this.

This may be our best experience in a Hilton property, and we have stay in over 200 properties. That is with one huge problem.

While eating dinner, a couple with a large poodle sat down and had dinner. Including feeding the dog from the table a couple of times that I saw. And NO it was not a service dog.

If Hilton has started to allow dogs to eat with us and most likely the dog stayed in their room as well, I am not continuing with Hilton.

All else with the hotel was outstanding. Just solve the dog problem.

Best for service, housekeeping, bellhops, and restaurant. All staff have been super friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.
The only negative... They should have convenience foods such as sandwiches or salads to purchase and go.

I have only stayed at this hotel one time and will never stay again. I am sure they have their good days but for the value I will not stay here again. My room was in Siberia and housekeeping was subpar. I have had consistent better service from the Hampton Inn's. If you'd like to overpay for subpar service this is your place! The bell service and valet service were outstanding!

The hotel rooms are okay. I think the toilet in the bathroom is placed in the wrong location. The room always felt humid. Called for guests service they never answered. Had to call other services to let them know what we needed. The pool is very small for a hotel this size not enough chairs or tables to just lay out. The balcony super dirty the paint was chipping off the safety rail

I recently visited Hilton Torrey Pines for a meeting and was immediately impressed by the ease of parking and access to the front reception area. The friendly, courteous valet and bell hops greeted me with genuine sincerity and a smile. Everything about the decor, from the furniture to the lighting at Hilton Torrey Pines says elegance and class, yet comfortable. True essence of hospitality.

They charged me for parking for 4 days even though I didn t have a car. They charged a higher fee than originally reserved. Overall I had to pay over $200 more than initially agreed upon. The hotel was fantastic and clean, but I m a little disappointed at checkout they tried to get away with these extra fees and also their computers at the front desk kept crashing so they inconveniently couldn t help me solve my problems during my stay. They refused late checkout despite my honors status, and a test alarm was scheduled during my stay for which they did not warn me or make any price adjustments for having to listen to a loud extended alarm during the day. Could have been a five star stay but I left more stressed than relaxed.

EDIT: The bill has been resolved. I increased my rating. However, I'm still fairly disappointed that this happened in the first place. Not my expectation from a quality resort.

The hotel is lovely and appointed appropriately for the Hilton name. It seems to sit in a geographic anomaly however, for while the sky over most of San Diego was sunny and blue during the days we were in town, the area around the hotel - - La Jolla, and especially Torrey Pines, was enveloped in fog, still beautiful, but some sun would've been nice. The staff are very friendly and helpful, absolutely no complaints. The biggest problem with this location is that driving from the hotel to anywhere is a challenge for out-of-towners. Street layout is definitely not intuitive, and nothing is close enough to walk or even for a short drive. Another complaint is the nickle-and-diming here: $30 a day for parking, $25 a day for a mandatory "resort fee" which includes nothing that's not usually expected with a stay at a nice hotel.

Rooms look great. The bed was terrible, sheets felt like sleeping in tweed, pillows were just pockets of air. My head went directly to the bed while the pillow tried to suffocate me. The thermostat wouldn't keep the temp we set it to, so by the morning we were freezing. We tried valet but when we tried calling down to get our car, they said they couldn't find the ticket. When wet walked down there and they found it right away.

Fantastic location. Iconic San Diego views. Even if you live in San Diego stop by here for a weekend trip. Won't be disappointed. I stayed over for a seminar and was pleased with that as well. It was catered with breakfast, bagels, coffee, etc. I'll be back!

If I can put no stars, that will be appropriate. The last thing I expect is to leave my personal belonging inside my room and to return after the room is clean and my sunglasses went missing. When report was made, they claimed to investigate it , outcome report, no one confessed to it and management is sure no staff will risk their job for a sunglasses. Conclusion: anything of your personal belongings can be stolen from your room and the hotel don't take liability . In other words it will be your word against their staff and their staff will not steal to jeopardise their job. Pure BS. I will never return and I am warning the general public what happens in this place.

The room was gorgeous and bed was comfortable. Spacious bathroom and balcony had a great view of the garden. The patio was tidy and overlooked the golf course with plenty of space to stretch out. Every staff member we encountered was kind and pleasant to interact with. Highly recommend and we will be back for sure!

Room smells like mold, filters for Ice-Machine not changed since expired on May of 2019. Its 7/2020 when we visited, its covid time they put everyone in one floor despite being not that busy.
We normally stay at Bay front Hilton, but we tried this hilton and we were disappointed both in service and in rooms,
Bellman upon our arrival requested to help us, but as soon as he saw we had few luggage and left us for another guy who arrived after us, not a very good first impressions!! We hauled away our luggage and spare $20 were going to Tip bellman!!

Hope someone reach out to Engineering Dep and have them change all Ice-machine s filter.

Thank you

Pay. Pay. Pay. Then pay some more.

Pay. Pay. Pay. Then pay some more.
As far as Hilton's go, this place is completely mediocre for the rates they charge, as well as the food charges and little hidden charges everywhere.
2 eggs for $31??? well, sign me up buttercup!!!!!!
Self-parking?? yeah, that'll be $30/night for the honour of parking on Hilton property. The staff was ok, but nothing exceptional.
The hotel itself looks dated, the rooms in need of an upgrade so bad I was tempted to put my own artwork on the walls.
SO... if you're snotty and well-heeled and like an over rated golf course, and don't mind literally paying for everything, then this hotel is for you.
OH... I almost forgot - this was a business trip and the hotel wifi was so completely useless I almost had to go offsite just to check email. USELESS wifi in this day and age? BTW, I'm writing this from a Super 8 in AZ which has wifi that should embarrass Hilton.

Very well located and next to one of America's top golf courses. The accomodation is good, staff are friendly. Can be pricey, so look for specials. My main issue was the gym, although adequate it stinks of sweat etc. For some reason the staff do not remidy the issue.

One of the nicest properties I've been to. Gorgeous setting, friendly, helpful staff. Parking was a bit pricey at $30 a day, but it is La Jolla after all. Attended a conference for two days at this Hilton, looking forward to returning and getting in a few rounds of golf!

Ok - This is considered a 2-3 star hotel. I mean its about to reach 3 star!! We payed $300 a night to get a room with a pool view. Upon arrival, they did not have this room for us! so messed up! My advise- book the cheapest room option if you even bother staying here anyways. You are not promised that room you booked online that you paid for extra! The only nice thing about this hotel, is the pool. Rooms are old and outdated. The AC was broken inside our hotel room. Called a few times to the front desk to have someone come & fix it. You would think they would give us another room? or come fix it.. Nope. Also, good luck trying too get a hold of the front desk to begin with. Very far from the beach. At least a 20 min drive. I recommend staying at a hotel elsewhere, and paying much less money, there's very nice options i saw for $130 with a nice pool, & even nicer, newer rooms... if your OK with driving 20 mins to the beach...do not choose to stay here. You would think just because its right beside the ocean, you could maybe see the ocean, no there is no ocean view. I think this place is only good deal for golfers at the least. Honest review. The only reason we booked it was because it was it was a 4 star hotel rating, and i assumed it was "nicer." Should have booked the cheaper hotel options San Diego had to offer. Things to note: parking is not free. They only gave us free parking because we did not get that room we booked! still only saved us $60 verses $700 total for 2 nights with fees. Ugly hotel.

Stayed here 2 days in a row for business. I had a balcony pool view room, it was an amazing sight!!!! The hotel is a few miles from the beach with a trail leading to it, lovely!!! The room was very clean, nice up grades throughout, extremely helpful and friendly staff. The hotel also has a lounge/restaurant downstairs which made it very convenient. Pool is beautiful with fire pits and a lovely view of the golf course. Waitress service available pool side. Overall excellent experience, will definitely stay here again next time I'm in SD/La Jolla area.

10.18.2019 - I decided to stay @ Hilton Garden this year... I had to come back to Torrey Pines and downgrade my 3 Stars to 2 Stars.
I rather stay at Hilton Garden 3 minutes away.

10.2018 - I decided to give this place another shot. Last year the housekeeper barged into our room and told me the Do Not Disturb tag doesn't mean anything.
This time, coming back as a Diamond Member, the Front Desk didn't tell me what my offerings was. I had to ask, if my breakfast still included, no water was offered.. as if, the hotel doesn't value elite members.
The stay over all.. was okay. $31 for Self Parking IS excessive.

Awesome local spot to get a nice hike in and see beautiful scenery with the ocean, cliffs, and all of the vegetation in the park. Take a hike all the way down to the beach, walk south and you will see a lot!!! Possibly more than you would hoped for.

Not really sure why this place has such a high rating... for $185 a night, just know you get what you pay for. Most employees have been complete grouches (minus the lovely valet) and the entire place smells musty. 0/10 would not stay again.

Beautiful views, friendly staff, spacious and updated rooms, (missing microwaves), did a good job in spite of COVID to make people feel welcome and at home. Upgraded to the terrace and it was totally worth it, being pet friendly is also a huge plus

A beautiful setting but it was unfortunate that the hotel was empty and we asked for the check in person to put us in a nice room with a view and they refused to do so. With the covid-19 epidemic there was very limited service no valet no nothing I'm not sure I'll go back. The room was average but there was no service and they were not very accommodating as far as putting us in a better View we would have promoted the place but management must be short-sighted I would rather have you in a room you cannot see the ocean but charge you $300 a night versus put you in a $500 a night room for $300 knowing you'll come back take heed ownership

During Covid there is no room service available, no housekeeping or new towels unless requested, limited staff. They close the pool every two hours to clean which forces people to crowd in small areas on the upper patio and inside the lobby. This appears to create more risk to the spread of Covid then just keeping the pool open and cleaning in between peoples movements. At the 12pm pool closer, the kitchen also closes so you can t even order lunch while you wait the 30 minutes. Food and bar is only available for 5 hours in the evening closing at 10pm. Limited menu with low quality. This hotel feels like it s at full capacity with little open common areas allowing very limited places to be within the social distancing guidelines the hotel requires. The only place I felt safe was to walk outside and go next door to the Lodge at Torrey Pines. This is where we had all of our meals and spent most of our time. This hotel is fine if you are just using it to sleep because whatever hotel amenities are still available are very very poor.
