Room was nice but for a high dollar. We got a room for three people and the beds were almost to small to share. Someone puked right out side the elevators on the 8th floor and the staff was standing around the corner chatting so I told them and they were already aware if it but didn't put a marker by it so no one stepped in it.
Visited a friend staying there, seemed very grand in the lobby, replete with restaurants, a bar, ballrooms and more.
We had a great time at the Chicago Hilton . Everyone was very pleasant and helpful . It is a very cool hotel , you almost feel like you we in another period in time. Very majestic hotel . We recommend a stay at this fine hotel . Loved everything about the Chicago Hilton 720 S. Michigan Avenue .
I love staying here. Ive stayed twice and both times the faculty and staff were really nice.
The rooms dont match the lobby. The rooms need to be updated.
It was a great lobby and entertaining area. But the rooms were okay
Location is great, everything else is okay. Upon arrival, I was surprised to find that there is not an executive lounge, and Hilton Honors Diamond members only get a continental breakfast. Not a huge thing, but it definitely takes away from the value of the hotel in my mind. Also, the scale of the hotel made me feel like I was in a Last Vegas hotel. Huge and without a heart. I will not stay here again unless I absolutely have to.
Gold star!!. Even better than a few years back. Superb all around. Should be an honors member.
Luxury and classic attention, only difficulty for free internet use.
We had a Lakeview room which was gorgeous. The hotel itself was stunning and the staff very professional. Our TV died the first night, but was replaced with a larger television within 20 minutes. Breakfast buffet was over priced. The beds lacked proper support.
Nice place for a conference. Great location, friendly staff, nice (but maybe a bit Kitsch) ballroom to have a party. The building could, however, use some renovations.
Clean and easy to get around. Heating/air conditioning system didn't work very good.
It is a nice hotel in a great location in the city.
The hotel is easy to access from main street. Interior is clean and welcoming lobby. Very open space, surprisingly they have an entire hair salon downstairs! Along with some cool anaxj shops and 2 gift shops. The pool is clean and gives you a great overlooking out to the park and lake. Room was comfortable and secure.
The service was perfect and the view was amazing from our executive suite. If you want space get the king executive suite with a lakefront view, you won't be disappointed. The service among the entire staff from the valet, bellhop, front desk and cleaning staff was well received. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Maybe in the future the Conrad suite will be in my sights.
It's very close to everything. It's a historical hotel so the rooms are small but comfortable.
Made reservation for July 4th with a lake view "outside of the courtyard". This was made clear and the only reason I made the reservation. I was given a room inside the courtyard with no lakeview. I immediately made it clear I did not want to stay the night and I was local. I was told no I couldnt not have my refund on a 100% occupied building turning away customers.
The manager on duty then told me I couldnt see the fireworks anyway because there was park in front of the hotel. His 25 story hotel can not see over 30 foot trees. Anyone from chicago knows you can see the fireworks from any building on michigan ave and these douchebag is telling me what?
This place is ok.. The tool that gets stuck working 4th of July is not
edit* Forgot to mention housekeeping knocks on the door at 8 am to clean your check out room. This is an ass hole move as well
Absolutely love this hotel. Staff and service was great! Very clean and a beautiful hotel on inside. Hotel is located in downtown Chicago so that was even better. When we visit Chicago again we will definitely be staying here again.
Went for a tour of their facilities and I was very impressed with how well everything was maintained.
Stayed here on a layover it was nice good location nice staff nice clean rooms they give you bullet proof vest on your way out so you can make it to your car lol
$166 to self park for three days. Housekeeping didn't bring towels the second day. Someone obviously went through my bag while we were out for the day. I spoke with security and was told there was a safe in my room if I was concerned about my property. Not what you expect from a four star hotel.
Great service, we were allowed to check in early with no problems at all.
Beautiful classic hotel with wonderful ball rooms and well appointed guest rooms!
The lobby is beautiful, and smells amazing. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful.
Good organization but still lacks details in a matter of lack of personnel to serve customers
Very clean and spacious room. The staff is very friendly and they were very catering to any needs that I had.
Worked a military event for the weekend, and my welcome was very unpleasant by a lady named Enning at the checkin desk, who checked me in. First off when I made the reservation it was on my husbands frequent travel card to give him points, I strived to the lady on the phone making my reservation 4x, what card I was putting it on, and how the card would not be coming with me. She was clear it wasn t a problem. Well got tonthe hotel about two weeks later and Enning made me feel super low... she made it clear and embarrassing you have to have the card you booked the reservation with, on most traveling times I know this, but asked clearly when we made the reservation if this was a requirement. She kept repeating the question who did you book through, I kept saying the hotel here, can t you see a name?.?. Needless to say I was almost going to sleep on the couch and Enning had no remorse or concern. RUDE! I was able to get things worked out 30 or so minutes later. She said here is an upgrade for you, and gave me bottled water, I appreciate that, but not how she placed them on the counter to me... a slight slam, not so kindly as she gave them to me.
When I arrived in my room I entered a very dark and gloomy super small 2 bed 2 bathroom the size of a dorm room (so it was small) with a view of the other hotel members room windows and nothing more. I did call down and ask to be upgraded by calling the front desk and the lady who answered, well... wasn t friendly at all and rudely let me know there was nothing they could do. It s late I understand they all had long days as I did too...As a Hilton member, that was odd. I wanted to book another hotel away from here immediately but just took a deep breath as it was already late into the evening and tried to be positive. Anytime during the weekend, when I asked questions about anything to a member of the hotel, like where is the gym or what restaurant would you recommend, the customer service level was extremely low. Traveling away from my three children and my husband alone, working... this was the worst experience ever!
The last night there, I decided after a long work weekend, to take a seat at the 720 bar downstairs for a cocktail before I called it a night. Steve the bartender became the only person that had the best customer service skills from this hotel! When I told him my experience after he asked how is my stay going, and I mentioned he was the only kind worker I have come across the whole weekend from this hotel, he said that is uncalled for and unusual for that kind of customer service. I agreed and let it go because I just wanted one cocktail to enjoy! He took an extra step for me and bought me a drink, which meant so much and I was so thankful for! He simply took an extra step he didn t have too! This kind service is hard to find anymore. I made that clear to him and thanked him, we shook hands and it was a great short evening. He was all around wonderful to everyone he served at the bar with smiles and pure conversations. All and all, I would not recommend this hotel based on my experience. It s old and most of the rooms are very small and with no view ( unless u want to pay more, which I was totally willing to do). If I was paying $75 or lower a night for the room I had that would be alright, but for a member and paying over $200+ a night, I don t think that is acceptable. Customer service lacks all around this hotel:(. Oh and valet and self parking is over $60 a night... not worth it!!
Beautiful hotel that sponsors the Chicago Triathlon.
Overall very nice hotel, very large. Staff was really nice. I didn't check out the amenities because i was there for an event and this can't comment on it.
I have enjoyed this hotel for 50 yeara. One of Chicago's finest.
Beautiful hotel with every amenity you could ask for. A must visit when if you are a Chicagoan and not staying there.
The Hilton Chicago left a bad taste in my mouth, got charged someone else meal they couldn't take it off before I left so got charged then refund and now I'm stuck whit the fee from bank which i whont get back thanks........., had another strange fee on my card to but it took 7 day to come off.
I would say don't say here you might get charged someone else meal to your room
And find random fees tack on for no reason.
The space is nice, but it is a maze! Staff had been great and things have been smooth. Food is good.
Too expensive for normal traveller but it is directly in the heart of Chicago and it sells big bus tickets
Great so far.
wifi is free. pool and sauna are great.
Great price on an executive floor room.
Attended annual conference nearby with traditional after-hours drinks in the Hilton bar. Two years in a row, the bar is understaffed and inattentive. I ordered once, and the bartender forgot about me. When he finally asked me again what I wanted, it was clear he'd forgotten my original order, and it took another half hour to get my drink. The guy next to me waited far longer than me just to pay for previous drinks.
I stayed here for 3 nights for a work conference, from Sunday to Wednesday.
My room was quite nice. Large 42" plasma and welcome center terminal, although the room itself was a bit small.
The gym and pool are on the 8th floor, and the first 3 floors are mostly conference rooms. This place was absolutely packed with conference attendees while I was there, since there were 3-4 other large ones. Entire hotel has 1500 rooms.
Wifi is ridiculously expensive, but luckily our company covered it. Parking is also ridiculously expensive (about $50/night), so you're better off parking in one of the many garages nearby.
Food during the conference was pretty good, as was service.
The conference room was spacious and very professional.
The Hilton is very fancy! Probably the nicest entrance and lobby that I have seen. The service was top notch, as you would expect from a 4 star hotel. My only complaint would be noise. My room faced the elevated train, and it was pretty loud all day and night. Otherwise, the place is great.
The Hilton Chicago is a great place to stay. I know employees that work there who are fully dedicated to ensuring that the client has a wonderful stay. Their location is awesome as well bring in the South Loop. A wonderful view of Lake Michigan from the hotel right on Michigan Ave.
The rooms were very clean and modern. The hotel staff was very accommodating and the pool area is very nice.
Pretty good meeting facilities. Historical type building in a good location.
Clean, easily navigable and friendly. Great space for an event.
Expensive for what you get. Small rooms but good condition. Thermostat does not actually control the AC. Workers are on strike banging pots and pans outside main entrance, very unpleasant. Nothing is included, everything like food and parking are extra. The elevator system is a bit wonky where half go to some floors half go to others so you can wait a while sometimes.
Review update: after checking out, I needed to store my bags for a few hours to finish the day's business. The bell flat out refused, said I had to drop them at the coat check. $3 per bag, cash only. Cheap trick, and tedious as I had to go get cash. This is the only hotel I've been to that does not hold your bags after check out. I'll not be back.
The history of this place, the paintings and the event made for a wonderful time. Better parking would be nice.
Decent conference facilities, though the lack of non-gendered bathrooms is unwelcoming
Loved my stay Was well taken care of everyone was great thank you so much will go back again
We didn't get a lake view room but we were still able to see the lake from the side window. It was beautiful.
Excellent one night stay with the family! We'll be staying there again.
The Hilton Chicago is an historical building. As such the overall ambiance and decor is a reflection of a former age. The lobby is extremely antiquated.
When stayed here 1.6 yr ago I had awesome views of lake Michigan.
Great hotel! Nice rooms, nice pool! And within walking distance to the Shedd Aquarium. Will definitely stay again for an overnight visit, especially if going to museums.
When you think of a Hilton hotel, you automatically snap to thoughts of luxury and rooms that can't be matched. This hotel matches your expectations...MOSTLY. The lobby and meeting areas along with banquet halls are beautiful. The architecture and design are really something else. However, where this hotel falls short is their rooms and floors with guest rooms. It is almost like the further you go up the hotel, the less care and attention they paid. However, the staff and service workers are extremely helpful and nice and the hotel does have a great location and amazing views but it could still use some updates.
Average. Cleaning of common areas needs to be improved
Some rooms feel data, but really, the location isn't bad at all. There are some unique rooms with two bathrooms at this property.
Beautiful historic building. Great location with views of Lake Michigan. Nicely appointed rooms.
Meh, it wasn't super amazing nor was it terribly bad, pretty cozy place to stay.
Classic outpost of the Hilton chain on Michigan ave
Was expecting more. The actual building itself is beautiful and historic, very close to the Museum of Art and the famous bean. I was surprised that I did not get complimentary Wi-Fi but had to download some app and get email spam or pay $13 for something you get free at a Best Western. Bag check which is complimentary at most places is $2-3 a Bag, it's reasonable but I expected more. Unlikely to stay there again, plenty of nice hotels in the city
Classic hotel. Easy check-in. Rooms are nice (double bathroom, which is weird, but whatever). Facilities for meeting rooms are good, but under-air-conditioned. Responsiveness to special requests exemplary. Dining rooms inside hotel loud, but available. Kitty O'Shea's a good bar. Tuck shop closes down a little early.
