The hotel is OK however we did have some issues. First, room service was not available due to the strike. We were not notified ahead of time. The day we were leaving we noticed a black substance on the ceiling of our room that looked like mold (pictures attached). We tried notifying guest services but they past us around to house keeping that just said OK. I could get into the price of parking but that is what you get being in Chicago. The place was great for the location but I will probably look for another hotel the next time I am in town.

Great location, renovated rooms, Lake View Windows make this a great place to stay in Chicago Downtown. The staff is very courteous. The food in the restaurant within the hotel is exceptional. There is a cafe where they serve Starbucks coffee. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We checked in the day before and got to pick the room. These photos are out the window of room 2112. That room is right at the front of the hotel, on Michigan Ave. You can clearly see Navy Pier and Buckingham Fountain. The room itself isn't huge. You do have a small refrigerator and a coffee maker, and a safe inside one of the nightstands. It is clean, and the bed was comfortable. The lobby of the hotel is very inviting. It still has the grandeur of days gone by. There are 14 elevators in the lobby to get the guests to each of the 2500+ guest rooms. I would go back. It is within easy walking distance of anything in Millennium or Grant Parks.

Disappointing... They don't know the difference between a Queen and King size bed. Their logic, all rooms with 1 bed are king beds. A king bed is almost 20" larger then a queen.. Not hard to spot the difference. After contacting front desk during my stay, (and again after) nothing was made right.
Although on the plus side of things, the nights I spent at the Blackstone across the street were exquisite. Hilton isn't what it use to be...

This is a BEAUTIFUL historic hotel. The staff was very accommodating. The hotel itself is beautiful with a lovely view of the city. Although the hotel is historic, the rooms are still lovely and spacious. This is also in a nice part of the city near Millennium Park and the lake front.
It was truly a pleasure to stay in such a lovely location. It definitely made our stay special.

I came here 9 years ago for a conference and went back in September 2018. This review is for my recent visit. Use of the gym and pool is not included unless you have a premium. They used to deliver a copy of the newspaper to every room. Hotel workers were picketing outside making noise starting at 6am.

When we arrived the hotel was suffering a strike. We later found out that the strike had been going on for over 2 weeks. The room we had needed to be dusted but otherwise had good service.

Marcus was incredibly helpful when we checked in. He was courteous but also had a sense of urgency after seeing we were fresh off of a flight. He upgraded us with no problem and got us the best deal possible. Other than the heat not going below 71 degrees in our room, our stay was very pleasant.

The hotel was really nice, and the room was clean. Wi-fi (and maybe breakfast) should have been included for the price, but it wasn't. The workers were on strike when we stayed, and I get the cause, but they didn't have to block the entrances.

Very beautiful hotel. They have every kind of food you could want and and a starbucks! I was impressed with all of the commodities inside of our hotel room including two closets and two bathrooms for two queens beds. We will for sure stay here again.

The Hilton is a very good hotel overall. It provides outstanding service to its customers and the staff seem very happy and enthusiastic to be here. The rooms are very well kept but were smaller than I thought they would be. The lobby and the other public rooms are gorgeous and look amazing! Plus the location of the hotel is optimum for tourists. It ia very close to millinneum park and a walkable distance to the willis tower. I would totally recommended this hotel to others.

One of the best hotels here. Went for a conference and the food was really good. They got a nice bar on the ground floor to grab a few cold ones. The lobby is huge and the staff really professional.

The Hilton Chicago is such a beautiful hotel. Amazing rooms that are spacious and elegant. Breakfast with many choices and everything is delicious. The view we had out our window was spectacular. You can see Navy Pier, Shedd Aquarium, and so much more. It's an even better view at night with all of the lights. It has a very nice pool as well and lovely views from there as well! I would recommend staying there to anyone that was looking for a nice, central hotel in downtown Chicago.

The entrance and lobby are spectacular but my room was just okay. It would have been great for a family though with two beds and two BATHROOMS. I didn't have a view of lake Michigan but understand that they do exist from the hotel.

The Hilton Chicago knows how to put on an affair. I attended a breakfast event that featured a hot buffet. Everything was plentiful, lots of hot eggs and potatoes, and tons of delicious fresh fruit. Add to that attentive service and you've got an A+ event.

The quality of the room was excellent. While it definitely had some mild wear from age, the rooms were great in Amenities. Our room had two bathrooms which made for getting ready at a much faster rate. This is our second time in the hotel for professional development and I could tell the staff was responsive to prior experiences as they organized extremely well this time around and catered to the large volume of attendees. Great time!

The hotel is located downtown very easy to find. Cafe at the lobby and restaurants are walking distance. Easy to get a cab/uber/Lyft ride. Only stayed for 3 days. Horrible check in experience waited for the rooms for almost 4 hrs and told you will send you text or email once it's ready. No notification for 4 hrs and when you followed up the reception put you on accessible room without letting you know or giving you options after the wait. I think that's the most awful experience of checking in I ever experienced. Thanks to the other receptionist (Pathatom not sure if I spell her name right) who assisted in making the experience better and changing the room for me. It is important to inform the customers of what options they have if the room is not available and if upgrade is necessary not deciding it for them. Other than that it was a nice stay.

Amazing Lobby party for St. Patrick's day, but horrible hotel stay. Room was incredibly small for 2 beds. Thermostat stuck on 77 and after calling engineer, only option was opening a window. Front desk told my wife we could pay $40 for a room upgrade, and then when I went to do so, they told me no other rooms were available. So with our window open to avoid suffocation, we heard the sweet sounds of sirens and emergency vehicles all night long. After tossing and turning, we left at 5am, to find puke on the floor in the lobby. Then I get the checkout folio in my email, and they up the price by $30. I am a Hilton guy, our family loves Embassy suites since we have little kids, but this was so bad. And let's be clear, the lobby party and Kitty OSheas is AMAZING!!! But dont stay the night if you are used to decent accommodations. We staycation downtown almost once a month and this was the first disappointment in years.

Maybe it's that I'm used to the noise but it wasn't to bad. A few honking horns after 10pm, but other than that it's fairly quite with the exception of the drunk people in the halls who have no manner's. I upgraded to business class for the fridge and WiFi. The room looks amazing. Found my prices on expedia well worth it while my visit to my home town. Pretty close to the United center for the hockey game. Go Hawk's. I recommend the hotel.

rooms are grey and depressing (lack of lighting etc), bathroom wasnt properly cleaned (dried urine was left on the toilet seat when i came in, which isnt hard for staff to miss). feels a little cramped, but appears to be good for business meetings and the architecture is nice

I attended the Hilton Chicago for a conference and the atmosphere is pretty typical of a downtown hotel (busy and touristy). The layout of the building is a bit difficult to navigate especially their lower level salons. It took me about 2 days to get a lay of the land. Otherwise, staff was pretty accommodating.

Like any hotel in this area of Chicago, it's expensive. I was staying here for a conference at McCormick place. There were shuttles that I would take in the morning, but in the evening I would walk back the 1.6 miles; it's through pleasant, safe areas with lots of restaurants to stop at for dinner. For past conferences in Chicago, I've stayed at the Congress Plaza Hotel, which is cheaper but shows its age everywhere you look; maintenance there is hit-or-miss. The Hilton, too, is old, but many of the rooms have been renovated in a tasteful fashion. (Not to my taste; I live in a house that was built as a home and architect's studio for one of Frank Lloyd Wright's student; we are slowly repairing and renovating, and it's filled with Stickley furniture. The Grand Californian at Disneyland is more my style.) I stayed on the 9th floor, and my room had a real thermometer, quiet fan, and was clean and neat. The hotel was pretty full so I think I got a nicer room than I had paid for; it was in a corner, with a refrigerator and lots and lots of room. If you look carefully, you can see a bit of peeling paint on the bathroom ceiling, and a few scrapes on the paint on the bathroom door, betraying the underlying age of the building. But overall the experience is excellent.

Absolutely fabulous hotel. Service is impeccable. Love the accommodations that they make for special situations. View of lakefront is priceless. Brunch on the weekends is also very enjoyable. Great place to stay in Chicago. Just bring your wallet with you it will be much later when you leave.
