i am extremely happy with our hickinbotham consultant!
Adrian out at the springwood display centre in gawler. he was so welcoming when we visited the display and even though we were in the position at that very moment he checked in with us every couple of months making sure we were well. he has extreme knowledge and is very prompt with service! i HIGHLY recommend him for anyone wanting to build with hickinbotham! he is always going above and beyond with everything he does.

Currently in the build process. Impossible to get someone to help without them putting the blame on you and basically saying too bad . Quality of the work has been poor. Would never build or recommend Hickinbotham again.

Construction Services Australia have just finished building our home. They did what they could when another builder couldn't deliver for us and we haven't looked back since the first meeting with our consultant to receiving our keys from the site supervisor. It's been a pleasure. Thank you Hickinbotham for the beautiful home that my kids will grow up in.

We had our selections appointment with Naomi on 10th November. My husband and my self haven't built before, so we were really nervous as the stories which we have heard about selections process weren't too positive. As soon as we met with Naomi we knew that the experience will be good. Naomi went above and beyond to ensure we were happy with everything we were choosing for our home. Her personality was easy going and at the same time professional. She provided us with great suggestions, you can really tell that she knows here stuff. We appreciated that she didn't rush us into choosing anything even though we went over the allocated time. The customer service which she provided us was exceptional and we can definitely see that she is a very big asset to the company. Thank you again Naomi for such an amazing service and experience. Hickinbotham have been great so far. My build has just been released to the construction phase. I was very happy with the help and support given by both Joanne Caruso and Katina Rennie during the sign up and pre-construction phase. They were very informative and happy to answer questions and the communication has been excellent. The selections process went very smoothly with a good range of included products. I would definitely recommend Hickinbotham to anyone looking to build a new home.

Luke is amazing to deal with and so helpful but Lauren will become anyones worse nightmare. She blames everything on the customer and is just so rude and caused our family so much more stress. Yet when we called back and spoke to Luke he was a champ and helped us and got our issues sorted for us. Over 2 years since we moved into our home has gone by and finally things are being fixed and replaced. Im not the only person whos complaied about Lauren either. Avoid her if possible!

Hickinbotham has been the most difficult company to deal with , misleading to the heights and dodgy to the core when it comes to selling stuff.

They will put in contract anything they like , with no explanation or description of the item
At point of sale , I was nodded Yes - and offered the items which were never included on the contract
These items have a generic names which is not described on contract , though they will find a way to debate with you - to have installed the items as per the signed contract .
The designing team , will do half your house fitted with mixer taps and half with non- mixer taps while point of sale contacts are not available/left the organisation to comment on the issue.
The employees who dealt with me at Pre construction stages and promised the stars to me left the organisation and there is no replacement employee for responding to my queries on emails or giving me clarification later whatsoever.
The planning team doesn't take developer approvals for encumbrances in place and submit the plans to council for approvals and later developers come with objections- resulted in the delayed project by 4 months
There is no complaint or grievances team in their company , while receptionist at the from counter will keep coordinating to the person who are responsible to keep customers happy and in check , with further delays without any outcomes .
This was one hell of a nightmare to deal with Hickinbotham aka Construction Services Australia for last nearly 13 months , thanks to delays
And my house still waiting to be completed!

From start to finish dealing with Hickinbotham has been great. We had a very drawn out settlement process with our developer and Hickinbotham were helpful and understanding throughout the entire process. Once construction was underway the entire build process only took a little over 3 months. There were a few little things that came up along the way but nothing that wasn't dealt with quickly and professionally at the time of raising them.

From start to finish, Hickinbotham were fantastic, very professional in all aspects. I wouldn't build with anyone else.

Our building supervisor was fantastic. Went well beyond expectations, eased every concern that we had. A major asset to your company!!! The time it took to build our home was fantastic. Our home is extremely spacious but no wasted space. The family/kitchen is incredibly open and both lounge and master bedroom are a fantastic size. The most enjoyable part of the building process was the install of the internal fittings. We would definitely recommend Hickinbotham to our friends and family!

This is my 2nd time building with Hickinbotham and they have been a pleasure to deal with again. Katina was my client services consultant and responded same day to any question I had; nothing was to much trouble, John was my sales consultant and incorporated all my design ideas into my dream plan. Very happy with my pre-construction process.

Customer service is disgraceful. Receiving a phone call while I m at work, try returning that call after I finish work on the same day and they don t answer. It s been a week and they still haven t called back. Also there seems to be no big boss you can make a complaint to about the service received.

On Sunday we had our selections for our build.
Our Design Consultant was great from the start. Madison definitely knew what she was doing and made our process easy. Step by step she explained everything in detail and made sure we understood everything. The session went extremely fast and we left feeling confident about our choices. Even after our session was over we still had a few questions which Madison was happy to go through with us and got back to us promptly.
We couldn't be more satisfied with the help we received and so far everyone who has assisted us through this build have gone above and beyond for us.

We are building with SAHC and Construction Services Australia, and can't speak highly enough of two people in particular, one being Dominic Weakley who handled our house plans at the very early stages and helped us create the home of our dreams. If you have him you are in great hands.

The second is Naomi at CSA, who we had for our selections appointment. Her knowledge about even the tiniest detail did not go unnoticed and was very appreciated by us, she immediately grasped our concept and design dreams and helped us with her eye for design. Currently CSA are doing half day appointments and she managed to fit in our *extensive* list without blinking an eye, worked through her lunch break and still found time to keep a smile on her face and help other consultants with their clients. We are extremely *extremely* pleased with our appointment and Naomi's knowledge base- she is a credit to her team and a huge credit to her company.

Up to now my experience with Hickenbotham Homes has been pleasant. As a single of senior years, building a new home can be a daunting process but the staff have been caring and supportive throughout.

We built our first home with Hickinbotham and it was the best thing we ever did. Our home was big and beautiful and everything that we wanted. Our consultant was patient and friendly and made sure we were happy with the whole process. Fast forward some years now I work for the company as a building consultant. I can t speak more highly of their core values and transparency. I had an amazing experience when I built and this is why I chose to work for them. I now can t imagine working for any other builder.

The availability of my client services contact during the pre-construction phase has been a highlight for me.
Whether in person or on the phone or via email, the customer service provided by both my client services contact and my building services advisor has been outstanding and most professional. To their credit, their knowledge about the pre-construction phase and all the steps involved was excellent as well as their support.

When we went into the Brookmont display home in SA, we spoke to Kimberly. Kimberly was fabulous from beginning to end. My original thought was to not build with Hickinbotham, but after meeting her and going through plans and the things that are possible, we were sure that Hickinbotham was the company to go through. Through this process which they call the "admin process" we had a number of personal issues that we thought would prevent us from building. We were up front and honest, which led Kimberly to confirm that she would do everything in her power to help us and that SHE DID. Luckily our personal issues were resolved and we were okay to continue our build. By this point, our liaison officer was Monique... A name i'll never forget. I feel like she held my hand when I felt like everything wasn't working and I wish we still had her as our contact person. Hickinbotham, if you're reading this, PROMOTE HER!! You need more people on your team like her!
We are now in the "construction process" and have Nicole D as our office liaison person. Sadly Nicole has had to have some time off and therefore the rest of the team seem to have no idea what's going on.
I have had confirmation that their system allows them to have caller notes, yet they never use them. Our frame has just started, yet every time I call and give my details, I get told "Oh wonderful, we can see here that your build is complete".... UM WHAT?! I shouldn't have to mention that WE ARE IN THE CONSTRUCTION PHASE EVERY TIME I RING UP! Then once someone answers, all I get is a bunch of attitude and basically a tone to say "get over your issues". I'm giving you close to a quarter of a million dollars but it's all good... clearly once you know clients have signed up, you stop caring. $$$$
I'll summarize briefly for everyone reading. If you're going to build with Hickinbotham, the early process is easy and breazy. Once they have your money, they won't know whats happening and when. You'll speak to them Monday, but by Tuesday they'll forget your 20 minute phone call and if you want to speak you site supervisor, you will get told this is possible but then you will find out that it actually doesn't happen until the end of your build... Pointless if you ask me!
Back to feeling like I shouldn't of chosen Hickinbotham!

Hickinbotham have been brilliant to work with and have gone above and beyond to help us out. We are mid way through our construction and go out to our block every weekend to check progress and to take photos and get more excited every single time as we begin to see changes and actually see a house beginning to form!
So far everything has gone well and I am so looking forward to being able to live in our first home in a couple of months!!

I think customers should be allowed to speak to building supervisor, old spoke to John at pre-handover - which was disappointing at not being able to speak to during construction. All trades need to be more tidy on sites. The build time taken was four weeks earlier than expected.. The selections that are done with customers need to be more detailed but overall we are pleased with our new home and found the most enjoyable part getting our keys!

What a fantastic journey this has been. I cannot fault the service and communication with Hickinbotham. Everything has been clearly explained and as a first time buyer they have gone above and beyond helping me each step of the way. The selections has been carefully considered with no detail untouched. Even though I have changed my kitchen 3 times the team have been very supportive and even supplied me with inspiration. Every one has been so approachable and I cannot wait to get into my new home.

Thanks guys keep up the great work. Kristen in sales listened and took me through a number of designs. The was very helpful when making plan changes and I felt really listened to what I needed. Emina in selections really got on board with my excitement and together we created something I cannot wait to see. Katina has been great keeping me updated on progess.

Don't normally post reviews but extremely happy with Hickinbotham who just built my first home. Good quality for what we paid and also they were quick and efficient resulting in less down time having to pay rent at our other property. Hickinbotham are great to work with. Considering that building is a complex process, the team made it easy, and were in communication at all stages. Responses to queries were quick and helpful.

Awful experience using Hickinbothem building our first home. The quality of trades this builder uses is atrocious, and no responsibility is taken after hand over. Our building supervisor was care free, and had every excuse under the sun. In the process of going through business and consumer affairs to have things repaired. My advise, don't use this builder!

First of all, I had a wonderful experience with the Hickinbotham team regarding many of my questions and doubts. The customer service is excellent and pricing is very good for the luxurious quality that you get. My experience so far has been very good with the company, starting with Ian Zeng as the sales consultant and then been in touch with Katina Rennie during pre-construction stages and also working with Bobby Carroll during colour selection, it was all very good experience. We have had a great experience building our first home so far! Our pre-construction consultant was always quick to get back to us when we had queries (and we had plenty) and was kind, flexible and accommodating with our needs. We're at construction now and have had great experiences with Elena and Emma too. It's made an inherently stressful process much more joyful!

Have been trying to build with hickinbotham for the past few months and communication between appropriate parties has been abysmal. Always ready to communicate when I need to pay two grand for building/consultations but now may lose my plot of land I was planning to build on obviously with hickinbotham due to lack of communication and sheer slow uptake on any area in the pre construction phase. Have had to have my pre approval extended due to still waiting on their valuations and it is now likely I will have to give up my plot of land. Fantastic feeling for a person who had high hopes of her first home.

The first part of the process we experienced the awesomeness that is Drew Westcott! He is an absolutely amazing sales consultant and with a background in interior design he was able to help recommend to us the little things that he felt we'd like to include and would actually make the home nicer that we may have otherwise overlooked during selections.

The second part of the process was the pre-construction phase. We were assigned to Louise as our consultant and she has been amazing, as has our selections consultant Naomi. I feel like Naomi personally put up with a LOT from me and my indecisiveness! Sorry again!

The only reason I give a 4 instead of a 5 is because I feel that the selections process itself needs some improvement. We went there expecting it to last only a couple of hours but it actually took up most of the day (closer to 6 hours). There is a LOT of information to process and choices to make in one day - at the end of which my brain was FRIED - so I think they would do well to split this up into 2 days. Perhaps do exterior + electrical planning one day and interior planning the next day?

My advice would be to go there well prepared knowing the things that you would like to include and also I would DEFINITELY recommend doing up your own electrical plan prior to your appointment. It takes a long time to do so if you're prepared that makes it far easier.

I also feel that the company should be more transparent about the pricing of the upgrades and include this in the booklet that's sent out to clients so they can have an idea of what the upgrades they want are going to cost them so they can budget in advance. Some of the costs for some of the items caught me quite off guard but most are reasonably priced. it would be nice if they allowed some time after the day to review the things you've selected and allow you time to make changes before they're locked in.

As part of the sales process Drew included a PC item for air conditioning and during selections we were presented with 4 quotes with only some basic info and asked to make our decision in an hour lunch break! The cost included was for $10K so 1hr is a crazy short time to make a decision of this magnitude.

So just a couple of things I think they could improve upon which would improve the selections experience immensely. Otherwise the experience has been really good so far for us!

We are almost finished with our pre-construction phase and are extremely happy with the service we have received from Hickinbotham. Both Stephanie and Monique from the client services team have been fantastic with providing updates and moving our build process along in a timely manner. They always answer my calls first time and provide the information required and are more than happy to help with any queries I have or just explaining the process and what are the next requirements.

Our building consultant Cliff Green also went above and beyond for us, drawing up a completely custom plan to suit us.

Hopefully the building stage is as well organised as the pre-construction phase.

We have now completed construction and the maintenance period for our new home.

The construction went very smoothly, our site supervisor Aaron was excellent to deal with, any issues which were identified when visiting the property were rectified promptly. Communication could be more frequent but given how quickly our home was built I was more than happy that they weren't wasting hours on the phone to me and getting on with the job. Overall we are very pleased with how our build went and I have recommended Hickinbotham to a couple family members who are now starting their builds with Hickinbotham.

The maintenance of our property was absolutely outstanding. Peter was very friendly and fixed all issues we had even if they were purely aesthetic. I would be more than happy to build with Hickinbotham in the future based on how our experiences.

I started preparing to purchase my first home since October last year. After checking over thirty houses in the market, I decided to build my own house.
It's such a long process. Basically I have contacted all the building companies in South Australia, and I checked all the display homes in Lightsview, Enfield, Smithfield and Seaford. I got to know the details and prices offered by each building company, i even made a chart to compare the differences.
I have spoken with Ian Zeng over the phone before I physically met him in Lightsview. I was impressed by him after the first chat. He not only answered all my questions, also gave me plenty good suggestions including details. For some of my unrealistic ideas he did not say no directly like other consultants, but told me why it was not possible or unnecessary to do so.
In the end I choose Hickinbotham for Ian's sincere and thorough. Ian updates me promptly about the changes, and he doesnt mind taking up after-work time to answer my questions. All the info I received from him is transparent with no hidden charge or confusing offer.

Now I have signed the contract with Hickinbotham and waiting for the color selection. This is a really important choice of my life. I'm very excited, and I appreciate Ian's help through all the process.

10 years on and STILL finding things wrong. Latetest issue something ie rat or mousse has died around rangehood area (there should be no access there) and in kitchen area maggots now dropping from behind rangehood as there is a gap between rangehood and wall. There is also an unfinished wall in fridge provision so a huge gap 30 cm by 30 cm. Tiles are cracking in bathrooms as well. It has been awful dealing with maggots and the smell. We are very clean people normally and this issue has been gross. When we went to have a dishwasher put in the dishwasher provision we could not get cuboard out guess what THEY HAD LIQUID NAILED IT. The contractor came out as Hickinbothams contacted them the man wasnot impressed as his apprentice had done it looks like he did alot of things he should not have. Also in kitchen hot tap was plumbed to cold and cold to hot, the Pura Tap man fixed it when we had pura tap put in. Just a few of the issues we had.......Experience building and post have been stressfull to say the least.

Kitchen people have now come out to put our new rangehood in and there was a dead RAT the hole that should have been cut out for the flue is a massive square shape!!!!!

Started off shaky due to a employee who was in his last 2 weeks at Hickinbotham. A lot of items that were discussed being in the plans were left out and as first home builders we did not notice it. From there everything has been great. Louise Ashmore and Tish Pitt have been an incredible help in getting everything we wanted in our house. Multiple people have spent time meeting our needs and going beyond to help us with council requirements. Since the start of the build everything has been going faster then anticipated and we are looking forward to the final product.

Had problems with my plumbing 3.5 years later and they didn't hesitate to help and get someone out straight away basically the next day. I appreciate that kind of service.

The overall experience was so great! The design studio is a fantastic idea and definitely helps with choosing everything. Seeing all the materials in real life as well as being able to see how everything goes together is invaluable. My design consultant was so lovely and amazing. She was knowledgable and helped me immensely, she answered every question and nothing was too hard. She also helped giving me a selections to choose from while offering a her opinion on what colour choices would look best together. For us the design was based on cashflow and investment driven, we just wanted a good, cost efficient, quick building time properties that would be effective for tenants. The build time was fantastic and fast even over the Christmas period. Happy with the fact both houses were completed within the same time frame, very well coordinated. Suggest staff are more familiar to investing when clients are building more than one property. Aims, time management and expectations are slightly different. Looking forward to working with the company again for future development of our property portfolio. The final product is well worth it. Thank you.

Value for money in terms of sqm rate but build quality is sub standard. Damaged windows, walls off plumb, footprints in finished concrete surface, control joints in floor tiles missing, poor gyprock flushing and painting.

We highly recommend Hickinbotham for building a luxurious home with outstanding pricing. Customer service throughout the process was excellent and all the team members in management were very helpful. The team assisted us with many of our doubts and requests within the building process. Special thanks to Elena Lazarou as the client services team leader, Katherine Bewick as design consultant and Chloe in client services.

The pre-construction phase is no doubt the most arduous part of building but the Hickinbotham team checked in with me consistently and responded immediately to any requests I had along the way. Ian has been exceptionally helpful, he is punctual, he is dedicated and he is always going above and beyond to ensure the best possible outcome for our home. Fantastic! I can't believe how quick it all happened. The most enjoyable part of the building process was watching the quick build. We would definitely recommend Hickinbotham to our friends and family.

I am currently in my pre-construction stage and so far I can t fault Hickinbotham. My consultant was extremely helpful, open and honest.

Worked with me to get the touches I wanted for customisation and ensured the plans would suit the land I had chosen. Communications were received promptly and in a friendly manner to any queries I had and the range of options in the design studio was impressive.

My wife and i are first home builders. After visiting these guys we feel like professionals . Probably the politest people i have ever met. Everything was explained in a way that leaves you feeling confident and accomplished. This studio is also well laid out and is very easy to make selections and visualise what your home will look like . My husband and I have been planning our dream family home for many years! After a fabulous experience with our building consultant, Joanne. We had our selections with Trish, and we could not be any happier! She is absolutely lovely, friendly, professional and an absolute world of knowledge and advice. She was exactly what we needed through that stressful time of selections!!! Her and I got along very well, she is a perfectionist and very very thorough which was very important for us.

We started our building process just over 8 months ago and love the help and support from both Kristen and Katina in the sales and pre-construction phases. Quick responses to our questions with excellent detail, eased our minds as this is our first time building.

Just met our site supervisor Matthew, he is such a gentleman. We showed him that what changes we want in our house( during the construction) and the way he respond was exceptional, so helpful. Its good to see hickinbotham got a gem like Matthew in their team.

Very very bad experience. Council give building approval with in 2 months. Then Why Hickinbotham take 5 to 6 month pre -construction time? No meaning to first quotation from sales consultant . There are huge difference between sales consultant quotation and final quotation. Don't take dicision on sales consultant quatation. They only trap customer by giving low price quatation. They always give colour selection date after council approva. One side we got council approval and other side we got final quatation after colour selection. This is very pre plan Process to trap customer. In colour selection , every product quate increase two times to three times . No any staff receive phone call . They only give answer by email or post They don't give any soft copy of document by email . Every thing they only post document by post. They only waste time . Very slow process

Our design consultant, Madison, was helpful and friendly, and was able to show us options that suited our style. She had advice and helped us a lot with finalising our choices. The process was quicker than expected and we are very excited to move onto the next stage.

Don't normally post reviews but extremely happy with Hickinbotham who just built our first home. Good quality for what we paid and also they were quick and efficient resulting in less down time having to pay rent at our other property. We had Graham H as our supervisor and also the girls Sarah and Monique from the office were fantastic. Not to mention Amit who was our sales rep.

We just signed up for our second home with Construction Services Australia (Hickinbotham) and paid our deposit without any hesitation. Great builder, great process. Yes there were a couple small things which needed fixing (as every home would) but they spotted it and fixed it straight away. No hassle and no stress to my wife and I.

In my opinion and personal experience I would never build with Hickinbotham again. Customer service from start to finish of the build process was appalling. Hickinbotham provide no information to their clients about what considerations should be made when building a house. We have a long list of defects from pre handover reports that have still not been resolved despite being advised that they were prior to accepting the keys. Our new home has numerous visible defects that make it feel like we are in the middle of renovations.

My wife, son and I are building with Statesman Homes currently. On Friday we attended our final selections for the house. We were greeted by the receptionist downstairs who was extremely polite and helpful. We were then shown to the waiting area to sit down whilst the consultant was called for. We were then greeted by the lovely lady Ashlee Hein. Ashlee is AMAZING!! From the time we met her at 9am, untill the time we left our appointment at 3pm, she was brilliant. There was nothing that could have been done better. Ashlee really knows her field, and made our day of choosing our future house selections fun and we left confident. Ashlee offered snack breaks and also was continuing to ask us if we understood all that was happening and if we had any questions. The session went extremely fast, and without any issues. This has been a fantastic experience for such a big investment that we are making. Ashlee is to be commended on her work ethics and personality. Ashlee is an ASSET to this company, and I hope she is well looked after. Thank you Ashlee!

I have just built my first home with Hickinbotham. I did it alone and was completely daunted by the task, but Hickinbotham has been exceptionally supportive and flawlessly simple. The whole process from beginning to end has been seamless. Highly recommend, everyone says that building is stressful but I never experienced that, Hickinbotham took all of the stress away.

Called and emailed agent numerous amount of time.. Apparently he doesn t answer nor response to the email and voicemails.. Called the office, got transferred to another person and again voicemail and no answer. You guys need to take your customers more seriously.
