The Create Your Own Candy Bar experience is not worth the time or money. Stick with the incredible gift shop area and the wonderful and free 'How chocolate is made' ride. Save your money and just do the free stuff, then take a drive around town in your own car. It's a beautiful little town, but Hershey World, while fun for the right price, is a bit expensive.

Complete let down. The free factory tour wasn't of a factory at all. More like "It's A Small World" meets "National Lampoon's Vacation". Don't get me wrong... love the Hershey product, but this didn't seem very special at all.
Great tour. Great store. The milk shakes you wait for about 30 minutes. I got the s'mores. After a few bites, I realized all I could taste is sour. One thought, the milk had gone bad. I threw it in the garbage rather than eat more. If I get sick, I plan to drop this rating another star.
Great experience, especially for kids. Buy the "everything" package. It was $200 for 4 of us but included total fun for 6 hours and a lunch. The folks working here are really nice and not grumpy like many attractions. I've probably put on 5 lbs but it was a great time. Learned a lot about Milton Hershey and he seemed like the CEO other CEOS should imitate.
Very informative. The ride to see how the chocolate is made is free. There are several other things to do, but that all costs money. We saw the 4D movie and tried the chocolate tasting. So much chocolate, it's unreal.
Chocolate World is a great place to visit. They offer a free tour which is a must see. The food court offers a wide variety of things to eat. The hot chocolate is out of this world.
Good staff, awesome place and good attractions. When I walked in, the scent of chocolate smelled so good! I saw people creating their own chocolate bars, It was spectacular. The food courts and shops looked very clean. I went on a little fun ride to see how chocolate was made. It was so fun! I can see that this place is mainly for kids. But they make adults have a good time. After the ride, they gave my kids 1 small hershey bars. They tasted so good!! I got to see jumbo hershey kisses, reese's, extra long twizzlers and a jumbo hershey bar. I absolutely had a fun time here!!!!
It's a major attraction, so you get crowds and rude people. The Chocolate World tour is fun for kids and gives you an inkling on how chocolate is made and what it takes to make your favorite chocolate bars.
Today I visited Hershey chocolate. Although it want my first time visiting, was my first time with infants. And have come to realize they lack any accommodations for nursing mothers. I had to nurse my babies (twins) in the first aid room. Step up your game Hershey. You should have a room dedicated to nursing moms. Other than that I think Hershey chocolate world was a great experience
I love this place...but only four stars. You know why? It's because you got rid of the cow on the chocolate ride that said "SMOOOOOOTH". When the cow is back, I will gladly give five stars.
This is one of the more fun things you can do in the area! I went on all the coasters and water slides, and every one of them were lots of fun! If you're in the area and have a free day or two, you definitely owe it to yourself and you family to spend a day here having an amazingly fun time!
I went there on 8-10-19 and it was way over crowded with to many people there at one time and I had 1 and half hour wait times to get on anything I wanted to do. In 8 hours I got on one ride. It was horrible there that day. I wont be back anymore.
Hershey s Chocolate World is a must see. I love interesting facts so I really enjoyed the short 15 minute presentation that tells the journey of cocoa. You need to go on the trolly ride. It takes you all over town to see the historic sites. We even saw where Reese s cups were made in his basement. The make your own candy bar was fun. You get to watch the machine make it for you after telling it what you want in it. Great day!
I LOVE chocolate and Hershey is my absolute favorite! I really loved the chocolate tasting attraction. I actually learned a lot about how chocolate is made and the different notes of flavor in different types of chocolate. My 14 yr old had an awesome time as well. She loved making her own chocolate bar.. but it was too expensive for us all to make one. The line for the free tour was very deceiving. It's hidden within the walls so you start out thinking it's not going to be a long wait but it takes FOREVER! And it's hot! It was a neat experience, mainly enjoyed because of my love for Hershey's chocolate. Very crowded though!
Home of an enormous Hershey Chocolate store, the free "factory" tour and other chocolate-attractions, this place is crazy and truly a sight to see. One star deduction for the "factory" tour not actually going to the factory and for being incredibly cheesy.
Over priced, a computerized free tour (but it is free and def a landmark of Chocolate to do if you are in PA visiting), but what do you expect from big corporate companies. My young nephew had a great time for his birthday with the 4D movie(awesome employees specially Sam, Carrie, Richard, and Gerry!!), create your own bar, and the tasting. Bakery is delicious and guest service people are kind~
The parking staff are honestly the best group of employees I have ever run into in a big company, are very helpful(answer any questions and point in the right direction of where need to be), and are all about the customer service! They work in crazy heat, cold, other working conditions, and have to deal with tons of drivers.
***Make sure you don't park here for Hershey Park though, they are two separate companies with separate parking lots/employees/rates. Make sure if you are going to spend all day at the park you go park there unless you want to spend some more in parking fees at Chocolate world for they are hourly. Know what you are getting into ahead of tine so you don't get angry at the employees for doing their job and charging you the rates Chocolate World has made.
Great place for our visit this Halloween season. However the lines in the chocolate world store were so incredibly outrageously long that we passed up shopping there for the first time in 14 years. That was quite disappointing.
Overall, this is a nice place. There are a lot of nice activities to do, but they are also very expensive. I ve seen a lot of reviews saying that some of the staff aren t helpful enough and I know from personal experience that this is because the staff are not trained very well or treated very well by management.
Hershey s Chocolate World is basically a large advertisement for Hershey products. But at least it is free. The main attraction, a simulated ride through a chocolate factory has become louder, less informative and less appealing with each revision over the last several years.
They do have what must be the largest sales outlet for Hershey products that you will ever see. Though you will find some items you won t find elsewhere (e.g. 5 lb chocolate bars) most of the items can be purchased for less at the local Walmart.
This is a really awesome place. I have waited for years to finally see Hershey, Pa. They have a 45 minute tour that takes you all around the city and tells the history of Milton Hershey. Very funny and be ready to sing. They also have a Chocolate tasting experience that shows you how to stop and really taste chocolate. 4D movie Experience. Very fun for all ages.
It's amazing to see the Hershey's chocolate world. I didn't know half the chocolates I loved were made by them. Especially Reese's Peanut Butter Cups which I first had in the USA.
I went to the Hershey's Chocolate World with a couple of friends and we bought some of the Reese's large peanut butter cups and the white chocolate peanut butter cups. We also went through the chocolate tour which showed how they are made, Plus it's free!
Awesome place..decorated beautifully..amazing mtns of candy in all types sizing and packaging of candies. A riding tour of how the chocolate is made and packaged..free.
awesome place to visit, would have easily got 5 stars if the make your own chocolate bar part was open..unfortunately it was closed for repair , friendly, helpful staff!!!
Very upset that its turning into all electronic, there isnt any actual animation animals anymore. The video is off track with ride itself. I miss the old ride where you look around at everything and learn about how chocolate was made instead of watching a video the whole ride but over all i love going to chocolate world for my kids
Awesome experience! They are open late and if we were to go again would go at night, do the free candy tour ride and get tickets for the next day. We arrived a little after 9:30 and the candy making station was already at PM tickets ... unless you paid $5 more for the express and then could still get a 1:15 pass. When you arrive there is the shop, tour ride and cafe area there is access to without tickets. Then with tickets can get into the movie, tasting, trolley, bar making combos .... super fun. The family loved and our girls are 10 and 13. Could have spent more time but 6 hours covered it all... would be nice to go to gardens and such too. Lots to do in the area. The experience is well organized when you purchase you tickets to stack your day and get to each event in a timely manner. Was great!!
We got there at opening on a Monday, and still ended up waiting an hour to see the 4D movie. Don t bother with the movie, it was less movie, way too much audience participation, the story was horrible, not sure I agree with the message they were sending, and the effects under the seat hurt. The free tour was great, because we were there so early, we just walked right on, and I thought it was very fun and informative. We also did the make your own chocolate bar experience. Worth it. You get to customize a chocolate bar, and the packaging. You get to watch it be made, and have a fun souvenir to take home! Don t bother with the candy in the gift shop, they don t have anything you can t get at your neighborhood Walmart or target for much cheaper (and I m from the west coast), but otherwise a very fun gift shop. My friend had the new hot chocolate that is advertised as having a full melted chocolate bar in it. It doesn t. Just a boat load of syrup. I also had the chocolate strawberries, they were great, and reasonably priced I thought.
Had a wheelchair in our group. They took us through the VIP access and made it very special. Despite the horrible weather outside we had a great afternoon inside.
Too good to have a mechanized tour of this world famous chocolate factory. Fabulous trip. The factory is beautiful with super facilities for tourists. Well maintained with shops to buy chocolates souvenirs. Ample parking space with charging points for electric cars. In all a wonderful experience!
