The worst language school experience in my life. I was trying to sign in the french cours during one month because my company agreed to pay for this. It was imposible. There were so many simple problems with registration that I decided to go to another school. I've never felt so bad as a customer, visiting the front desk so many times. And in the end manager told me "I'm unlucky"

I have been studying here since July. My teacher is Julie Mainguet and she is absolutely great, never boring, hugely patient and always enthusiastic.

AF is more expensive than the other schools in Brussels, but one should remember that the classes are way smaller, so that the medium price for each hour is roughly 10 and the proportion implies that they are almost one-to-one lessons, unlike CVO or EPCF.

Cheat on your entrance test. I didn't and I ended up in a group where many people struggled to speak a single sentence in French (B1.2). And while the school says it's possible to be transferred up once you start the term, that's often not the case. (In my case the class one level above didn't exist) Waste of money and quite misleading. If you have a basic level in French, you could just as well get a netflix account for some 6 euros and watch French films with subtitles.

Really I should've given it 2 stars because I learned a number of things in terms of grammar, but I'm quite angry with them.

I was looking for a language school to learn French fast to be able to work here in Brussel, and after I compared with other schools, this one was the best deal for the ratio number of hours/price/quality. Suits me. It's cheaper than other French schools in Brussels, and I like my teacher. Works for me. Although Id' like to have more social activities with my fellow students, that would be great

Taking the summer course, semi-intensive pace. I was a bit sceptical due to the low rating, but I have to say I'm having a great experience so far. Excellent teacher who knows her stuff and is super friendly, modern premises and well organised. I love that you can sign up, pay and get all the info online, no need to queue to fill in paper forms etc.

I loved my teacher there, she was super nice, and we had a great group vibe with the class during the intensive session. Getting a good teacher really makes the difference for me and the class was efficient and fun :) it's too bad there's not like a French cafe or something nearby too, but for the language learning it was a great experience. Definitely worth it !

A very annoying useless entrance test, overpriced course classes and incredibly rude receptions who treated me like a criminal when i was passing by with a colleague cause i did not remember 'the code'. I could go on for hours, my suggestion is find a private teacher and share the fee with some mates. a friend couldnt come anymore cause had an accident and lost all the money cause he 'told them too late'. outrageous really.

not a good academy for learning full french gramma...

not a good academy for learning full french grammar and be prepared for a fluent french. Their focus is on conversations, something that you can have with French speaking friends. Really unsatisfied for the relation cost and hours have taken (350 - 390 per 2 months for 20 to 30 hrs). The hours depend on holidays, the eastern week or the school just close and you don't complete the full hours. Teachers are not well prepared, during the 6 months i have been there, only one teacher was good. The others no! For the cost you paid, you are waiting for good quality, good installations, and well-cleaned bathroom. It is not the case.

Thanks to the Alliance I learned French in 4 months, now I have a level that allows me to work completely in French, it is true that their price is higher but we save time in exchange.

How to recommend:

There should be an "A0" level to level all incoming students with a different alphabet, they really have trouble following the speed of an intensive level and unfortunately it also slowed down the level of the group in general

Ruined my day completely. First of all I've been calling them more than 10 times these past couple of days. They never answered the phone. Second, I had a month French course and said I know nothing much but the phonetics. So I wanted to get in the A1 class but they required me to do a placement test which was very useless and also made me feel somewhat humiliated since I didnt know anything. Third (which is the reason why I'm so outraged), one of the teachers who seem to have come to correct my awful test result talked in French with another technical assistant guy in the desk. While they were talking, they both kept on looking at me very obviously so I asked "I'm sorry. Are you talking about me?" They smirked but did not apologize for their unmannered attitude. I decided not to take the class because honestly what kind of language teacher talks about the person in front of their face just because they can't understand what one's saying? Why would I want to learn a foreign language from a teacher with that kind of attitude? I hope that teacher reads this comment and really think over deeply about her philosophy for teaching.

I loved my teacher who really motivated us to learn, and it's not easy! ;) for price per hour it's cheaper than other French schools in Brussels, and the quality I think is better, with great hospitality and very qualified teachers :) even if I still make mistakes a little I hope I will improve myself

Dont go! They are not doing refund for more than one month! I am sending several mails. They are not replying the customers and treating them well. No respect! UPDATE: after h ndreds of mails, they decided to do the refund BUT they did refund less than they they have to. They did not pay the costs and they charged me for the transfer fee, 27 EUROS! I waited for 45 days for the refund and I got 27 euros less and needed to send 100 mails! This is cheating! Also our second class, A2.1 was full of people who are beginners because they didnot take the test. So they are cheating on the levels and classes.

Hello,

Hello,

I would like to congratulate you for your cards on TV5monde Teaching French which allow me to work well listening and speaking and also to enrich the general culture of my students.
It is because these cards are very useful for teachers and students that I allow myself to report an error on the one entitled "The Arctic, the end of a sanctuary". Towards the end of the document, the presenter talks about ICEBERGS TABULAR and not PATIBULAR. The error is all the more important because we have to answer activity 7 according to this adjective ...
Best regards,
Ana Melendo Lecea

Arguably the best French classes I've had, though perhaps pricey to some (work pays). You progress slowly but surely, which is a plus since the content you learn during classes tends to stick. This is in contrary to what I am used to in French classes (going through the chapters too fast, in the end very little sticks). The teachers are all very good (have had 3-4 different ones in the past 9-10 months).
