great clean room, wait staff were excellent and courteous
misinformation about a few things and some morning noise complaints. Otherwise good!
Very nice to visit from Toronto. Only thing people not distancing in the pool or using masks indoors.
Liked it, but not a fan of the drunk bridal party. It's also entirely possible I'm a curmudgeon at 46, and they weren't the issue but rather, I am.
Beautiful nice clean water
However. . Expensive parking
Really worth the price, the most expensive wooden house has no scenery! And even the hot water bottle is not!
Service is phenomenal. Kim at front desk was awesome. We were offered great service and courtesy at its best. And it is always a good experience at the resort anyways and ladies at the bar section are so hard working, I bet they don't even have time to breathe but they look happy and are so helpful.
Simply put, nice and relaxing in a beautiful setting
Our wait to get into our room was ridiculous. The entire lobby and lounge area was everyone waiting for their rooms. We didnt get a room until 1.5 hours AFTER check in time. Also the walls are paper thin. The pools are nice as always.
Rooms were not ready until 4:30 pm. There were three of us in a room and they only provided one coffee mug and one coffee. Otherwise room was clean.
Friendly staff and relaxing place for some rest and recreation.
Great place for a get a way. Although I think summer time will get pretty crowded. Also the food near that area is fairly expensive so you might consider driving out of that area for good and affordable breakfast/dinner.
I spent three days out of a week long trip to BC, Canada. I absolutely loved the resort. The serenity at Harrison Hot Sptings Resort was exactly what I needed as part of my vacation. The hot springs were not exactly what I expected, as they were more like a mixture of lukewarm pools, but one indoor and one outdoor one with hotter temperature were quite pleasant. Service was great, but limited selection in dining around the resort made me drive out to Chilliwack a few times. I would return again :)
Fun place for a weekend. The rooms could use some a re-model though.
Great hotel and friendly people and staff. I was there for a professional event and it was hosted one of the ball room. Overall very friendly staff, clean hall and well organized. Food was great as well.
Got to get back there for another visit. A beautiful place every way you look at it.
Lucked out and got a lake view room. Relaxing here, but the good is over priced and run of the mill.
Worst experience at any hotel . Stayed here many times in the past with no issues. This time the pool area (all of them) were messy, lots of trash around.
There was a wedding party was one floor below and went until midnight... not warning nothing. When I called front desk to complain I was told that just how it is.
Topper was..... we found blood stained sheets on one of the twin beds. GROSS.
No one seemed to cared when we complained.
A nice touristy place to come and enjoy the walk along the water, get some delicious ice cream and enjoy a nice summer day. There is a separate mini lake there that is open for swimming.
Great place for natural hot spring baths. Enjoyed every bit of our stay in late October 2020. Glad to see all COVID precautions are being taken. The indoor hot bath is of course closed.
We arrived early and checked in...staff is super friendly. I found the room on the hot side, and opening the window was comforting but there are no barriers to reduce sound traveling from the pools...so that is something I would caution people about. The water was amazing!! You feel revived and renewed. Make sure when you check your room that you size up the robes...they tend to be more smaller sized then oversized...I'm only an 2xl, there are much larger people out there then me. If I could give them a half star more I would as the inconveniences were small and petty. Overall a great experience with amazing wilderness nestled in close by.
SUPER RUDE Reception staff. I mean for the price we are paying to stay there we deserve at least a smile or an apology for the wait and their mistakes. Not worth it, rooms are outdated and service is so bad I would give 0 starts if I could.
Breakfast is good and the pools are also good still doesn't make up for the fact everything else sucks. Stay away!
Great building, clean and well kept. The atmosphere is amazing and the drinks are awesome. If you are hoping to get out on the lake killers kove and harrison water sports are right across the street.
It was nice and relaxing, great atmosphere. Breakfast was out of this world. Whish the pools would have had more minerals though
Had a great time at the pools and around town. Hotel is getting a bit dated. Overall good time.
We stayed at the resort in the West wing, it's a quiet end which is nice. The balcony faces a tennis court but you can see the lake. Helpful staff. Room is decent. The pools are nice though 3 are outdoors so expect bugs etc. Definitely would recommend.
Lovely resort with friendly service. The pools can get pretty crowded but it's still nice.
Wife and I spent 2 nights for our anniversary. It was pretty expensive for what we got and the town itself really doesn't seem to want your business in the off season but the resort has a nice bar, great room service pizza and easy access to the hot springs (although they were loud and crowded and filled with a bunch of drunks). Pretty happy but will probably be more diligent about getting some kind of discount next time.
My girlfriend and I booked a romantic weekend at what we heard was a wonderful hot spring. What we got was a low rent, dirty room in a spider infested hotel who's "hot springs" are no more than naturally heated pools.
We booked a king sized room, and the check in staff confirmed we had a king sized room, however the bed we payed for was quite clearly not what was advertised. The room had a couple of spiders in it (one living in the corner on a web, and another dead on a surface), some small stains on the pillows, a couple of the outlets didn't work, and some of the lighting fixtures would not turn on.
Outside the 6th floor window there was a truly awesomely disgusting display of spiders. I have never before seen so many spiders crawling around on webs in one place. I counted at least 30 quarter sized spiders who had taken up residence on the gnat covered cracked window. We talked to the staff about this disgusting display, and their reply boiled down to "we know". Would recommend a trip to that floor at night if you are an aspiring arachnologist for an unforgettable display.
We asked to talk about the rate of our room with management as we felt overcharged for a King sized room, and received at best a queen. The GM was not in at the time of our stay, and the supervisor was not able to help us. We left our information to be given to the GM when he returned, however a week later we have still not been contacted. I have attempted to reach the GM at least 5 times since, but have never been connected with him. Very poor service from the staff.
The "hot springs" were very forgettable. We had expected a spa sort of atmosphere, but instead got what felt like a Holiday Inn with several pools. On the bright side, they were all heated at temperatures from room temperature to luke warm. While we were staying at the resort there was some sort of wedding party at the hotel as well. It was clear they were very drunk, and spent a good part of the evening actually screaming and cannon-balling into the enclosed space of the indoor pool. While that was not the fault of the staff, it was clear that they had no interest of enforcing the rules of the "adults only" swim time, and the whole experience took on the air of drunken party at the municipal pool. Not exactly what we had paid for.
All in all our stay was very lackluster. I would not recommend this resort to anyone in it's current state.
I didn't think the pools were that nice. Neither was the room for the price. I thought the check in and out procedure was too slow. I did meet some nice friendly staff though.
Great old Hotel, the new part ain't bad either, the views from the lake edge, Como ,and Picton harbour NZ come to mind. Perfect weather for taking photos and walking off lunch.
We use to go there 3 times a year! Both husband and I birthdays and anniversary but got screwed over terribly one time and they didn't seem to care about loyalty. Sent an email to the hotel manager but was ignored. Not our spot anymore!
Hot springs area is nice but can get quite packed during the holidays. The rooms themselves look very dated, walls & ceilings are paper-thin so bring your noise-cancelling headphones if you want some quiet...
The Idea is pretty great... but based on the decor, and amenities, this resort reached its zenith in the mid 1980's and now is engaged in a steady decline. Dont get me wrong, this place is a nice place to visit, but its worn down and tired in many ways, from the decor to the furniture, to the hoity-toity Copper Room, simply it needs updating.
AVOID AT ALL COST! Had a one night stay over the long weekend and that was the most awful place to stay. I'm usually not a picky person but, I find some motel has better quality than this.
Room: Zero sound proofing..... I stayed in the Heritage building. You can literally hear everything outside your hallway, and other room - up down left right! Kids and people walking/ running (you can feel the vibration too) will drive you mad if you decide to stay in your room and get some early rest. I hear people shouted SHUT UP at 2am from another room because there were some people talking outside.
Pool/spring: Pictures online are for illustration purpose only. See it yourself if you don't believe. At least I'm not impressed, it sure doesn't deserve the name "Resort".
Price: Regular/fluctuate with different season but with the rate/amount paid, totally not worth the bucks.
Love the pool. But the rooms are older and could use a renovation. Price is high for the quality of hotel.
Everything is good, but free parking should be made available for guests staying at the resort. The charge of $8 a day for a vehicle is too much for guests who are already paying to stay there.
Got a cabin room, nice and quiet, but for the price point, you would think the mattress would have been comfortable.
Probably would not go back.
Also there is no complimentary breakfast which is not the end of the world just a side note for people who may book a room.
Amazing location and view. A lot of things here don't make sense, especially the price (which was full pop despite limited amenities during covid impacts). You'd think they would be more accommodating as a result - especially on a Wednesday when I stayed...Overall was an amazing place geographically with a dated and poor condition hotel and premium costs. Don't recommend unless you are very interested in the thermal pools which are the highlight of the experience.
Also be careful if you book over the phone, I noticed the charges they billed me for did not match the posted rates on the website. Also despite only being 1/3rd to capacity they booked me in a room with an immediately adjacent door to another occupied room (maybe unsafe with C19) and also gave us a room with a view of trees on the backside of the mountain instead of the beautiful lake side vista, which frankly is nonsensical.
I booked my reservation through Expedia. I would have to say that the heritage building is a waste of money. They are indeed over priced and my last experience was horrible. The suite was cold throughout night and the bed was squeaky. I was so tired sleeping that I couldn't call in and make a complaint right away and you shouldn't expect customer to call in at that time. So we had to check out in the morning of that day. I brought the problems to their attention and they didn't seem to really care. They told me to call Expedia. I called Expedia and they couldn't get a hold of the manager.
I love this place. I've been there maybe around 10 times . I never get tired of going there and gave never had a bad experience . I love having their afternoon tea at 4 pm. The pools are wonderful. The brk buffet is nice in the morning. This is my favourite get away place . I can't find anything negative about this place.
The hotel monopolizes the city's hot springs (the only hot spring outside the public bathhouse), and the hot springs are still counted in Canada. There are many people in the pool. The hotel first maximizes the profit, you need to book in advance, otherwise you will increase the price if you continue to the room after the store, change the house, do not tell if you do not include breakfast. The scenery is good!
Great place for conference. Nice to relax in the pools, or go for a walk.
Love this place. I go here for the hot springs occasionally. Really nice and quiet place in the mountains.
I am so impressed with the staff! I carelessly forgot 4 bracelets in a robe pocket and checked out.
When I called the hotel to report this,I had to leave a message. I thought that would be the end of it.
But later in the day the hotel's Lost & Found returned my call to say they had my bracelets!!!
I applaud their staff's honesty!!! Thank You So Much!
surrounded with nature and those hot spring pools were really relaxing.
I felt this place was really too expensive for a basic motel. Room service trays outside other rooms sat in our hallway for more than 24 hours, which was a little gross.
I was there recently for the 1st time getaway 2 nights package. This resort is very old & dirty. I lived in the heritage building which was super heritage that the washroom couldn't fit 2 persons in at the same time. I couldn't sleep at all b/c whenever people walking either outside my room / next doors or upstairs, it felt like earthquake & super noisy! The pools' not much (actually I didn't feel any) sulfur in it. Too pricy for this visit.
Love the atmosphere of the outdoor pools at night! The addition of the pool bar is a nice touch. Outdoor pools staying open till 11:30 for people 18 and over is pretty awesome as well.
Beautiful location in BC. The table lamps and layout of the washroom are a bit dated. The bathroom vanity is discoloured and separated from the bathtub and toilet area which goes back to the 80s, leaving no privacy if washing and shaving. The bathtub has a rust stain where the bath mat is placed inside the tub. However; the staff are great. The food is good.
Great location and overall the service was very good. The real draw is the hot spring pools on site which are clean, albeit busy. The breakfast buffet was a bit overpriced although there were plenty of options to choose from. Overall it's a good choice for a stay though the price seems slightly out of step for what you get.
This is definitely a place to get away from the city. There is not much here to do, and while soaking in the hot spring, you will wish you had your phone, but if you want to chill, this is it. Great at night when there are less people in the pools. Walls are thin though.
Excellent hot springs and spa, great service, good atmosphere. Will be back.
$139 per night for an ordinary room and it was full of disgusting smell from the toliet. Plus, the pools are some small and always have crowds of people around them. Not recommended!
Paid for a premium suite for two nights and air conditioner didn't work...
ensure that you stay in the updated part of the hotel in the summer time with the AC.
The pools are good check in is a bit late but the staff is super polite. Came here for our anniversary twice and still like it.
Nice facility, could do with an update. Beautiful pools, nice staff. Amazing view, convient location.
Great place,fantastic management
Go again anytime
Large resort with variety of attractions but pricey overall. They have multiple restaurant with the more prominent the copper room
with live band. Spa located here is decent the masuses are friendly however the overall experience is not as relaxing as you might want it. Instead of having to be allowed to be changed in robes before the massage we had to wait and hurrying change in the room. The location ran out of locks for the lockers. There are multiple pools and some outside but can be busy on Saturdays
Rooms are a bit dated, but clean. hotel resteraunt is sub par
My love for the hotsprings and the magic of Harrison has helped me overlook the resorts terrible attitude towards customer service.
I overpaid $108 for a recent stay which I asked to be rectified on check out. I was told it was my fault and I had booked the package and no refund would be provided.
We booked on a stay and had to cancel
the online resevation system was not working the evening i tried to cancel and I called the morning 58 hours ileft of the 72 hour penalty time but only because the online system doesnt work nor does the email links
The resort informs me they will be charging a night cancellation fee
All the while I am unaware the pools are closed people are getting sick and the resort doesnt tell me they threaten to bill me a night
My wife rearranged our schedule and rebooked because she loves the place and wanted the experience of the pools and resort
This was Friday morning February 22 and no one told us the pools were closed
We found out about the closure and health risk today by accident
I called to cancel and express my frustration and disatisfaction with the resort staff and attitude
The person cancelling repeated three times that they would not charge us for cancelling
Are you kidding me? No offer to comp for the $100 over charge the lying by omnision in not telling us the pools were closed and threatening to charge us cancellation when they knew the pools were closed
DISGUSTING!
It has gone down hill. Management seems to only care about making money. Cheap beds
We've been going to Harrison Hot Springs for years while kids were growing up and now that they've moved away. Harrison's has consistently delivered a good experience. We've figured we like it much better in the cold months than hot and that it gets really busy at times, nothing unexpected for a popular place. Being fans of natural hot springs, we've visited a few around the world and this place is at the top. Living in Vancouver, it's our nearby relax and chill out destination. Love the packages too. Bed and Breakfast package price has increased over the years, but still a good value. Thank you so much, Harrison Hot Springs team, for your dedication to service and for keeping your specials available and affordable.
Its really trying to be a 4 star resort unfortunately the only thing that is 4 stars is the prices.
Cons:
The walls are thin and our neighbors are noisy. We can definitely sing along with their music and can keep up with their conversations.
The beds are firm, like padded plywood floating on springs firm perhaps I am spoiled with my pillow top mattress at home... But my wife and I are having problems sleeping on the beds lots of tossing and turning and the neighbors are not helping (it is 12:43 am as I write this rolling around on the bed)
We booked a lake view room in the West tower as we thought it being one of the most expensive rooms it would be nice or that we would at least have a decent view.... Well we are located on the bottom floor by the elevator with kind of a lake view between the trees and the floating Waterpark. Don't get me started with the pedestrians that can look right in the room... What's the point of paying for the view if you have to close the blinds for privacy? "view" rooms should be at least on the second floor.
Pros:
The pools are nice if you can tune out the screaming children. The adult pools are not that far from the "family" pools.
LCD TV is decent...
Amazing shower it's the best part of the stay! the shower is small and odly segregated from the rest of the bathroom tucked away in a separate room with the toilet but it has amazing water pressure.
All in all:
It's not all bad... But the value is off if the rooms had comfortable beds and a little more sound suppression they could get away charging the current rates but come on the pools do not make up for the 2 star hotel attached to them.
My fiance and I went to view it for a wedding and we were blown away by the affordability, and willingness of the hotel staff to assist us. We were blown away by them, especially in comparison to other venues!!
There is good be to found at this hotel to be sure. But then my wife had her shoes and sweater stolen from the pool area. Now the monetary value isn't what matters here, but the managements response of "You need to watch your stuff, what am I supposed to do about it?" is unacceptable. I had to leave the conversation to cool down. I don't expect you to play detective and solve the problem, but we had descriptions of who likely took it, and wouldn't that be worth listening to? Or even a sympathetic word for my wife who now has no shoes for driving home? Completely ruined the night and any positive feelings I had about the hotel.
*Edit: And a bad response from bad customer service. What a terrible experience.
Just had my wedding at the Harrison Hot Springs Resort and Spa. Thank you Laurie for coordinating everything at the hotel. My guests have raved about the quality of the food and the venue. I loved every moment there! Thank you so much!
