The resort was overall pretty clean. However, I wish the hot spring water was warmer/hotter, especially the outdoor springs (it was not hot enough). The rooms were clean as well, with everything supplied. The trash cans had no trash bags. They charge a lot for a bottle of water.

Super unimpressed with our stay this time around. The resort had a massive filming operation going on. We were led to believe via email prior to our stay that the filming would be inconspicuous and wouldn't interfere with our stay. This was not the case at all. The crew was everywhere and the ensuing noise and disruption was far from inconspicuous. The resort also had loud power tools operating outside beneath our patio at all hours of the day, starting at 9am. We weren't able to enjoy sitting and relaxing on our patio because of the noise and chaos outside. Furthermore, upon returning to our room after a day of mountain bike riding, we were greeted by a full scale infestation of flies. I'm not even kidding... I've never seen anything like it... Dozens and dozens of them flying around everywhere. We took video and upon calling front desk and informing them of the situation, I was rudely accused of leaving a window open, which wasn't the case. They offered to move us to a room two floors down, which was only closer to the power tool noise and the air conditioning barely worked. I sent the manager an email explaining the situation and asking for compensation given how horrible our stay had been. They reduced our room rate by $50/night...that's it. This was supposed to be a wonderfully relaxing getaway for my birthday and unfortunately it was anything but... We won't be returning. The hotel needs a massive renovation. It's old/smelly and very dated. The outdoor hot spring pools are lovely and that's about it. For the rates they charge, I would think twice about staying here.
Nice resort and the pools are the perfect temperature! Loved the pool bar. Lots of neat little restaurants in the area and a great hiking trail nearby.
Great experience! The staff treated us very, very well, the pools are super relaxing, and we thoroughly enjoyed The Jones Boys in the Copper Room. The quality of the food in the Copper Room could be a bit better for the price, but it was still good. The price is reflected in the experience as well. The B&B deal is very good (buffet breakfast included).
Had breakfast at Lakeside Cafe. The buffet was excellent. Large selection of hot and cold food. The omelette station is incredible. The waitstaff were quite attentive.
Beautifully located. We arrived at 4pm for checkin but they didn t have our room available until 6:30pm. Went on a holiday weekend, the pools were packed indoors and outdoors the whole time. Great breakfast buffet not to be missed.
Nice and relaxing hot spring pools. Closed to some good restaurants and gift shops. The room was old and made me felt it wasn t clean (it was actually clean) and the keys didn t work very well. There wasn t much things to do when it s off season and the price is quite high.
We stayed in a cottage. They are fine, and there is an uncocered, cold walkway to the pool area if you know where to go. Most of the facilities are "under construction" or closed. None of this was disclosed to us even during check-in. Disappointing experience provided by weary staff.
This place used to be premium. We even had to request robes and a kettle. Not good.
For the price you don't get great value. The rooms are rundown and dated. It is a nice experience but for the price you will constantly be feeling underwhelmed. The pools are nice for kids of all ages. The staff are extremely nice and helpful.
Room: The resort itself is quite out dated, with mediocre looking decor. It smelled a little funny and felt a little damp/humid in our room. Wifi was really bad in our room as well.
Pools: The pools were nice, we enjoyed late night adult swims. However, there are signs everywhere to keep quiet and that it's a place for relaxation..... but no employees enforce this rule as kids are jumping and splashing in every pool until about 11pm when they get kicked out.
Spa: Overall, we had an okay time, would recommend the mineral soak (not sure what its called) at the spa, it was a nice chlorine free experience with the mineral hot spring water where we got to get some quiet. The staff told us it was 20 minutes, they extended the time for us to enjoy it a little longer. We also both got facials done, it was nice! My skin felt very soft afterwards, however they didn't describe any of the products to me.
I recommend this place is you need a quick get away from the city for some relaxing, however if I had the time, I'd prefer to go to Sparkling Hill Resort.
We booked 2 rooms. The price was more expensive then the motels/hotels next door. Some rooms don't have air conditioning. We had a fan in the closet we could pull out. We walked around the town and most cheaper motel and hotels have air conditioning. Its a nice location but you would think ALL the rooms would have Air Conditioning at the prices they charge, they cheap out and it was so hot and uncomfortable. Glad we only stayed one night.
Been coming here for 15+ years I think. All my family members love it. Can't complain! Also pho nearby is just too good haha.
---- Latested review : (edit: March 18th)
Unfortunately, we will have to downgrade to 3 star from 5 previous rating.
It is due to mainly the unhappy staffs who are overly rude.
(Patricia was absolutely unwelcoming and we do not think she should be at the front as many people will feel the same way. Despite ourselves being regular, we felt very unpleasant and have to reconsider if we want to come back here or not.
The front Lady at copper room was not very nice either!)
We had 2 lakeview rooms with 2 queens. The rooms are too cold because one of the beds is too close to the window and the balcony window leaked air... I m having a cold now..
Just had a drink at the cafe while visiting. Hotel was nice, people were friendly. The front desk allowed my friend to charge her phone. Lots of tourists so kudos to them for maintaining a smile!
Always a relaxing visit. The hotel is getting a bit tired and needs an influx of repairs /renovations but the hot spring pools are still what it's all about. No sure if there's new ownership but some of the past features (omelettes made to order, food by bar etc were missed). Also surprised we could not get a chair for my father or a baggage cart, only available through bell boys. I alsi seem to remember water fountains on the past but they appear to have been removed. The cost of a stay is quite high but as I said the hot springs are great, the rooms were clean and the food in the Copper Room is quality fine dining. One bonus was the snacks and Starbucks coffee in the cafe in the lobby. There's lots of shops and hiking steps away on the lakefront too! Kids enjoyed the floating waterpark in the past but check their website as they were still not open at the beginning of June.
The hotel is a bit dated but staff is friendly. Hot Springs are amazing and so is the lake. Worth a visit. We had dinner in the bar, great food, great service.
Beautiful and scenic with plenty to do. We rented the jetskis there. Slightly expensive but worth the money. Haven't been to the hot springs themselves there. That's next on my bucket list
This is a 5* location but a 3* hotel. The air conditioning didn't work (and apparently couldn't be fixed in the 48 hours we were there), the elevator kept breaking down, the paint & wallpaper were peeling...but the views were phenomenal and the staff were as helpful as they could be given the environment in which they were working.
Relaxing downtime is what we needed and we got. The Thai Massage, hot tubs, walks, weather was ok but it was Feb. Copper room food and dance was a touch of the past. Thoroughly enjoyed and will going back again.
My husband and I go to Harrison hot springs resort every chance we get Its very relaxing and the pools are amazing! I plan on going with my friend next weekend she has never been! Girls night out!! Cant wait! The only thing is the food is very pricy for what you get! I have suggested better quality food or lower prices! I recommend if you go there and enjoy! The pool access rooms are great
I visited this place with my daughter for the Mother s Day. I visited so many times before with friends or other family members. This time, I had a terrible experience. We stayed at the main building 2nd floor this time. When we rested after checked in, there were terribly loud stomping with squeaky sound from upstairs. So we decided to go for a walk and swim. When we came back to the room around 9pm. It was still noisy from up stairs until 1:40am. And it started again 5:20am. I barely slept through the night and talk to the manager at 5:50am eventually. However when he came into my room, obviously noise got much better and his answer was very disappointing.
If it is a mechanic issue we can figure it out, we can do something but it is a people upstairs. Maybe children run up and down or they go to the washroom so many times. I will let other manager know.
If you decide to stay in the main hotel, avoid lower floor or stay in the west or east building. Main hotel is old and it terribly squeaks when somebody walks up the stairs. If you are unlucky like me, it will be much louder all night long and they can t do anything to help you because it is not a mechanical issue they can fix as the manager told me.
It was such a terrible horrible Mother s Day for me anyways at the Harrison resort and I won t go back there again.
Such a fun short mid week getaway and great service only thing that sucks is no breakfast room service which means you need to come downstairs for a $25 buffet that doesn't have eggs Benny and Does have crying kids made us leave right away
Really friendly staff, clean and private cottages, pool was crowded but that is out of the hands of the establishment to a large extent. Delicious breakfast!
We stayed in one of the cabins for two nights and it was great to have our own little space, however there were a few things that would have made our stay better. The couch bed in the cabin is absolutely awful even by couch bed standards, by moving some of the furniture around you could easily fit a proper double size couch bed with a nice mattress and then two couples or a family could share a cabin. As it is, I would not consider booking the cabin again for more than two people because of how bad the couch bed hurt my back! The pools were also very warm, it was nice at night, but I would have been great to have one cold pool to cool off in during the 30 degree weather since the lake is too cold to swim in
Probably I'll not going there anymore. Hotel is very old, awful and filthy. The rooms have a terrible smell of damp, mold mixed with bleach from the pool. Same disgusting smell there is in sauna and steam. The mattresses are very old with springs sticking out of them. The room cleaning is terrible. They don't even try to vacuum in the room, just making bad. The carpets in the rooms have never been cleaned and everywhere is stained. The resort offering NO A/C and it's true but for XXI Century and for over $300 per night this is unacceptable. The owners of the hotel use their monopoly position and absolutely do not respect their guests. It's shame and unfair
Decent hot springs, decent spa. Sub par compared to hot springs in Japan. If you're thinking of going to the spa just to get a day pass to the hot springs, just go to the public pool. Same water, and pretty much as good.
Was thoroughly disappointed in our cabin. The rugs were stained and smelly. The armrest on the chairs were discussing. In the bathroom, black mood was growing all over the grout, walls, tub edge, very scary. They had a few new flowers planted outside on the grounds, but the grass hadn t been mown and a lot of the flowers weren t watered and dying. Thousands of birds are setting up shop in the roofs of some of the buildings, my car was covered in bird turds. All this for a very expensive room. WON T go back!!
We always have a great time here. The kids would stay in the pools all day if we let them! Some of the rooms could definitely be fixed up a bit, but it's clean.
Have been here many times, this was the first time I was quite disappointed. Most amenities are closed due to Covid which I totally understand, but they are still charging full prices! That's not ok. Most of the staff we ran into made it very obvious they didn't want to be working during the pandemic and made us feel downright unwelcome. I will not be going back until the pandemic is completely over, it is NOT worth the price right now!
My husband and I love this place for local family getaways any time of year. It is so close to the big city but easy drive for a young family. The pools are so beautiful. The town is fun to explore although fairly shut down in the winter.
We stayed a couple nights right after new year's and the check in experience was pretty rough. The line was at least 50 parties deep and took 40+ minutes to navigate. Parking lot was full already so we took advantage of the valet. Food on site was good but pricey. The themed dinners during the winter break in the Lakeside Cafe are a great value, check ahead for the schedule. We were there for prime rib night which was quite good. The outdoor pool is great even in rain, or in our case snow. Your head gets a bit cold but the pool stays nice and toasty. Getting out quickly obviously is a good idea in this case. Overall, had a great time and very kid friendly. Ideally should come when the weather is better so you can do some hikes without getting drenched.
If you're going to stay anywhere in Harrison this is the place to go to. Honestly ever other place can't compare. Everything you need is in the resort, the pools are great and we got an awesome lake view.
The Copper Room is very nice. Takes you back decades. Cons: people getting into the sitting pool with their shoes on or bringing beer in. Out of control kids stomping through the wooden corridors of the old building. Hotel room cleaning personnel got into the room with the "Do not disturb" sign on (we were not inside).
The resort and pools were wonderful. A very relaxing visit! Combined with the waterfront decorated in Christmas lights it made for a magical trip. The hotel offers free high tea at 4pm, be sure to check it out.
