Everything was great, the food, pool, rooms, and service.
The hotel and staff are amazing. The only problem was that the manager there was very rude. I had to speak to the manager about an issue I've been having with our parking accommodations and the manager just laughed and walked away. Not sure if he was new or not but probably not going there again after that experience. The hot springs were relaxing though. Hopefully you don't have to deal with that manager on your stay here.
The staff were vey friendly and accommodating. My room was clean. Would like to attend a work meeting here again.
The pools are amazing which deserve 5 stars but the hotel itself needs some updates.
Super Nice, Clean rooms! Pet friendly, great rates and really great service. We only stay here if we ever come to Harrison!
TL:dr I am giving 2 stars because while I was unhappy with many parts of our experience there were moments that brought me back to what it once was. I would also like to point out that the spa was incredible and my sister was raving about the experience.
I had been a consistent visitor for 10 years. I stopped visiting about 5 years ago because it was no longer a place to relax but was advertised as a family vacation spot. There are multiple quiet and reflective spaces that have been taken over by loud children and inattentive parents. I brought this to the hotels attention and left feeling like my business was not wanted.
This year I decided to give it a go again and take my sisters on a girls night.
Once we arrived in our room we noticed a dead bug on the window sill. There were also many small (fruit) flies near the ceiling. I mentioned this to front desk and was told that the hotel is having problems with the flying bugs.
Later when we returned to our room we noticed that the small flying bugs had increased and some were crawling on our sheets. When I woke up in the morning there were many black spots on the sheets where bugs had been squished.
Again, I was very disappointed at how loud people were at the inside reflection and relaxation pool. There are many signs requesting quiet but they were ignored by families with float toys and kids jumping into the pool. I was kicked numerous times and left as it was no longer relaxing.
They seem to have many of the same staff members over the years but this trip gave me the impression that they had given up on complaints. I was brushed aside - when I first visited it was always pleasant to speak with front desk staff.
Beautiful resort with a long rich history. Really enjoyed walking down of the paths along the lake and in the forest as well.
Very friendly staff at the spa. Would come back for sure
The staff was very friendly, the rooms are nice and we lived in a walk-out room. I can walk in to the hot springs from my balcony. The overall quality of the staff is high, the hotel service attitude is good, give praise! Some of the west towers have direct access to the spa area and are very convenient.
Stayed here for a couple nights. The adult pools and adult time were great and the indoor spa was nice too.
Tea time was a nice touch.
The Island Bar has decent food, but I believe it's just from the Lakeside Cafe which we didn't go to.
Stayed in Main Tower and walls/room connecting doors were quite thin. Could hear the tiniest whisper of conversations. Happy to announce the people next door are glad they haven't fought in 3 years and the wife is looking for new heels that cover her ankles.
The room we were in seemed to have gone through an update which was great as last time I was there the room was old and outdated. Overall a great experience.
The main purpose of our trip was to get a relaxing and pleasing afternoon and night. We drove two hours to be extremely disappointed. We paid an exorbitant amount for a small dark room which barely canceled the noise from the outside allowing the yelling and whaling from children outside to interrupt our sleep. The main attraction (hot spring pools) were lukewarm at best. The best of the bunch was the indoor adult pool which was too small and invaded constantly by loud obnoxious brats under no adult supervision. After the disappointing pool experience, we decided to sit down for a small meal and drink at the bar. The view was decent but the food, if it can be called food, was insulting at the least. After two bites and a couple of french fries we started to feel sick and decided to abandon our meal in order to avoid spoiling what was left of our evening. The lack of attention by the staff is concerning only the guy at the valet who directed us to the parking area made us feel welcome and valued.
Other things we noticed and concerned us were the lack of cleanliness of the bathrooms in the pool area. In the ladies restroom, there was toilet paper everywhere and the dirty ground made the restroom unusable. Meanwhile, in the male's restroom, the ground was flooded as the pipe behind the toilet was leaking. Finally, at the checkout, we were dismissed when commenting on the unsatisfactory stay in a manner that reinforces our belief to never return to this "resort".
The floors were always dirty in the hallways. One elevator could not go to the main floor and was not taken out of service. You would get on from say the fourth floor to find a post it note on the button saying you couldn't go to the main floor.
The rooms have not been updated in maybe decades? The light switch was the old style kind that was more of a shortened switch, I think from the 40s or 50s... They aren't safe by today's standards, that's why we don't see them anymore. The bath tub was in disrepair and should have been replaced a long time ago. Beds were great though.
TV was glitchy and near unusable.
Understandably some of the hot pools were closed for covid season... And what was open was nice still.
For 250 a night I just won't bother going back. It really wasn't worth half that. I've stayed at sandman hotels that offered more.
Beautiful art deco place, water pools hot springs. Very good restaurant
Nice place, amazing view but extremely poor customer service. The people at the front desk were so rude. Not friendly at all. It took more than half an hour for check in. We came in early and the woman at the front desk was so rude on how she answered my husbands inquiry. We called a night before and the lady on the phone said that even if we arrive early they can get hold of our stuff and give us access to the pool. We just need to ask the people in front once we arrive. Which we did... That is not the case yesterday. She was so loud saying YOU CAN T CHECK IN UNTIL 11am, come back at 11am okay?!! and not friendly at all. It threw me off a bit as she was so nice to other guest. But with asians like me, she seemed to generalize everyone not understanding english! Horrible! Did not even respond to my husbands greeting. We decided to take a walk outside even though it was pouring with our toddler. Came back 5mins before 11 and check in counter was so SLOW. Took more than half an hour, the lady in front didn t even greet us back and did not explain the extra $150 charge which we did not find out until we were in the room. Overall, the place is old but the view is beautiful. My only comment is that the front desk people are horrible... not friendly at all. Rude and unwelcoming. Something has to be done here.
If you want to stay to this hotel be careful first check bill for every single things.scond hotel it's to old and room clean up it's veryyyyyyyyyyyyhhhhhh bad small veryyyyyyyyy bad we are not Happy. Just check your Bill's and Before sleeping your bad........
The staff here are very accommodating. Our stay has been. Wonderful.
The location is great, the rooms are very clean. The prices are high but service is great as well. Would recommend.
We went for a girls weekend! Loved the pools and the island bar. The rooms are a bit old and dated!
So very relaxing. Hot spring spas were lovely. Bar had the best nachos anywhere.
A good hotel that just surf the wave of their prime location and hotsprings. I do not think the service or accomodation are exceptional for the price you would pay. A big too big for me. Really depends which room you pay. Some are nice, some are old and creepy so do not hesitate to ask or pay extra to have a view.
Great customer service. Beautiful view from hotel room.
I am staying at the cottage beside the parking lot and it is very spacious and a perfect place for a family trip. The only con is that there is no wifi in the cottage so if you can't live without wifi I don't recommend the cottage, but if u are looking for a "getaway" place then this is a perfect place. (There is still wifi in the resort part)
It was really busy as there were multiple weddings at the resort this weekend. It was also the dragon boat weekend. But the staff was all very friendly. Hanging out at the pools was fantastic and I would highly.
Nice relaxing getaway near the city. This trip marred because of the people in the room next door being very loud until 2am
Gotta love this place. 15 visits and we'll never get tired of going.
Check in was a great disappointment..long line, and had to wait beyond our check in time by a few hours.."due to Covid"..
I am sorry to see that many places are now using this as an excuse to offer sub par service.
Parking is extra $12 per night..very disappointing.
They should just incorporate extra fees into room booking..it's better for a positive customer experience.
The room was incredible.. Most comfy beds in a long time!..and lake view is breathtaking!
Fridge but no microwave..weird.
Only the outdoor pools were open (due to Covid) but they were very enjoyable..minus the night club atmosphere on the adult side after 10 pm.
The hours are awesome..8 am to 11 pm!
If we need to peel and pack the linens, etc at the end of our stay (due to Covid)..shouldn't you extend our check out time??!!!..or at least be on time for check in''s!?!
Very disappointing, this hotel is in dire need of an update and overall maintenance. Rooms are straight out of the early 90s in the west wing. Food is very overpriced for quality and quantity (Chicken wings 6 for $13) Pools were generally clean but full of loud kids even in zones where quiet signs were posted. For the money they charge you would expect a 4 star accommodation, but depending on what part of the hotel you stay in it could range from 2.5 - 3.5 stars. Many areas of the resort need to be pressure washed that are visible from the guest rooms... Just overall appears to be poorly managed. Hopefully they return to their former glory one day.
Huge hotel with awesome pools. It's not a new one, but everything clean. A big variety of restaurants and amenities
Good service, provided what we needed. Food is a bit pricey tho
Great access to the source of the hot springs and the resort seems to have lots of amenities
Aww-some experience ! Very cool peps though and through ! Hats off to you guys I'll most definitely be back !
Hotel is comfortable but dated, at least the East wing rooms are. The lakefront location is great but the hotel food quality and options are mediocre.
The resort location is beautiful. Definately a retreat for many. Beautiful scenery and some great eats near by. I would definately recommend when it is summer season. All restaurants are open near the area, and you can swim in the lake as well. The rooms are clean but some are very outdated. Would love to see some updates in some areas. Thank you for the nice stay.
Old facilities, but there are few other alternatives.
It was alright, crowded, really hot, a lot of money
Great place to stay. Mountain views are the best part
Beautiful views, little busy in summer and price is little high too.
Spectacular pools with different temperatures, fruit of thermal waters
Nice facilities but due to a mistake on their end they double booked our room and didn't offer any options to rectify it. Not impressed with the service.
love this place. excellent staff and service. wonderful accommodations. highly recommended for all!
Stayed in a cottage at back of hotel which offered a fire place and quietness with quick access to the pools. Really well maintained grounds great place to relax.
Beautiful scenery but it was raining. We had a nice meal, would come back for sure
Stayed here Aug 2019. Terrible front desk service! Very long checkin line, and they said they would text us when our room was ready. No water in the lobby, or by the pools - need to go into the gym or to the bar to find drinking water. Never recieved a text, and when we finally enquired at 6pm (after waiting in line again), our room had "just become available". Happily, the room was nice, clean, and tidy. Warning - they charge $12 per night per car for parking. Pools are nice, however our keycard access stopped working at one point, and had to go back to the front desk again to get it fixed.
Lake view room is excellent, air condition is a must for the room in summer heat. The decor is outdated and old, however the hotspring and pools are great. They are overcrowded at times.
Rooms are not air conditioned (I don't know about the Tower rooms though). The small fans were not enough to cool you off especially at night. So staying here during the summer will be really hot. Aside from that our stay still ok and the staff are cool and very nice. Pools and hot springs really rejuvenate.
Poor lighting, poor service, smokers are treated horribly
Hello folks dont complain alot but i thought i should share the experience i had the Harrison Hot Spring Hotel.
First off phoned left a message, to this day have not received a phone call back.
9am phone them to book the cottages, as we chated with Guest Service to book for the cottages, first they were available, after giving my info Guest Services says, sorry its gone no longer available, so I booked for the eastside wing.
Upon arrival checked in, asked if they were any cancellation as id be interested in staying in the cottages.
Next day one was available moved into the cottage.
Went out for diinner came back found a SLUG about 3" long, it seemed to have come from under fridge as the slug trail showed thats where it came from. not happy, bit my toungue went to bed, as we slept the bed sheets where not fitted. to small, and the sheets came off sleepless night next told them about it got some compensation moved back to eastwing.
from the begining I had said we would stay 4 nights $1100.00 pre approval on my visa
Finally a good night sleep and we slept in 2pm came around went for lunch to the pub 3:30 pm got a phone call from Guest services asking us to leave as they booked the room to another couple went back to room started packing GUEST SERVICES phoning and phoning asking us to leave
We packed up knock on door you got 10 min to leave or we charge you $125.00
We left in 5 min
Upon leaving manager had a brief discusion with us
He would not have me say a word
Had to listen to him telling me what time check out was over and over we where just about out the entrance door.
I tried to tell him about our frustration we had with lack of sleep issues with the rooms and we had finally had a good night sleep and why did they not phone my room or cell to ask if we where staying or going just the phone call to leave
He didnt care
In closing will Not go back or Recomend this hotel to anyone period..
The hotel needs a major renovation the rooms are super old and smells bad!!! It's little expensive for nothing include except using the pools! definitely I won't come back again !
Good location. Great service. Some of the decor is a little dated. The springs are lovely.
The room was perfect for our candle light Christmas eve service
Nice place for sightseeing.. nothing much to do but
This has been a great place to say with a relaxing vibe.
Feels like a vacation every time I am there. Hope to have a stay/couples massage some time soon there.
There is a nice pool but the hotel is awful. Looks like it was built in 50s, so it s dirty, old, has thin walls - you can hear your neighbors and their speaking.
Nice place, very scenic. Hotel rooms & hallways have a dated look. Pools were refreshing. Staff was courteous, but service was lacking. On two separate occasions I requested a item, both times I had to remind staff about requested items.
The pools are amazing. The rooms are showing their age as the hotel has been around forever.
Just had our wedding here. Went perfect. What a beautiful resort. It is still a hidden gem like whistler was 15 years ago
With all the hype and the price of this place, you would think this would be nicer/better. A lot of it is old. I've been in better springs. Probably will not return.
Pet friendly section, everything was extremely clean and organized . The whole family had a wonderful time .
Our room was gross. Filled with mosquitos and spiders and sooo much dirt by the windows. The tub had stains. Thankfully we only had one night here. We won this from a silent auction and wished we would have just donated the money to the school for free instead. There was loud music and noise from the room above us until 12am. I called front desk and took them a while (half an hour or more) to turn it off (if they even did anything about it). My kids did not get to bed until after midnight due to it. what a horrible experience. We went to eat dinner and they tried to seat us at a table that wasn't even cleaned. It wasn't until i said something and pointed to the chicken bones and rice under the table that she did something. We just sat elsewhere. You would think during COVID they would take more care in cleaning rooms and the restaurant. Usually i have positive reviews but this was so bad in just one night. When i mentioned it at checkout the employee just say "oh sorry". Would not recommend wasting your $$ here. I couldn't imagine spending full price for this "resort".
We came here to get married and everything was prefect the people they hire here are the best and so personable!!
Rooms r very old and not very clean at all. We encountered a bat in the hallway and demanded a refund but had to argue to get it back when we were only there for 1 hour. Terrible service very unprofessional. We were told there is no manager so we can't get r refund and then when I went back 30 min later the manager was there and said he had been there the whole day. Sketchy business going on there.
Came for the walk, stayed for the entertainment. New paid parking barely dampened the spirits.
The hotel staff are alright, the hot springs are pretty cold. The hotel is an old run down building and considering the over priced cost of rooms you would think they could update. 10/10 would not recommend.
Nice variety of hot spring pools indoors and out. Variety of nice and quiet rooms. Off season rate was very good. Serves complimentary tea, coffee and cookies in the afternoon. Come in your robe or fancy duds
I have been here a few times in the past 10 years. In my impression, the room was "outdated" as described by other reviewers, but the outdoor hot pools, the lake and the mountains were enjoyable. So I took my kids and girlfriend back again yesterday. It was a rainy Friday. Even though it s a weekend, who would stay in the pools under the rain? So I expected it shouldn t be that busy. But I was totally wrong. We ve got a lot more people (immigrants, international students and tourists) pouring in Greater Vancouver these years, you will absolutely see this in Harrison Hot Springs. If I would come back again, I would definitely try a week day, not a weekend any more.
The hotel check-in is 4pm, check-out is 11am. I was afraid that the kids might not have much time to stay in the pools. So we arrived at 3:50pm. I was trying to unload kids and our luggage at the hotel main entry but could not find a spot for my car. There were 5 cars on the drive way, 4 of them were shut off with disappeared drivers. There s one car on the left lane unloading, which was blocking the traffic behind. It would be nice for the hotel to assign a staff to manage the traffic during peak time or at least put a big sign.
We stepped in the hotel at 4pm, waited over 15 minutes in the line until our turn. The lady said our room was not ready yet but the maid was already in it and cleaning. She did not give me the key right away. She said we needed to wait for 15 minutes in somewhere else. I asked her how I could get the key, she said you would be called. We waited for about half an hour and realized the weirdness; I then went back to the lady, she handed me the key. Yes, we waited in the line for over 15 minutes, checked in without the key. Waited at somewhere else for about half an hour, lost patience, asked for the key and got it from the same lady. It is okay if the room is not ready at check-in time but I think the situation could be handled better by all means.
We stepped in our room at about 5pm. Kids could not wait to go to the pools. But we found we had no bathrobes. I checked with the maid who I met in the hallway, she said the bathrobes were running out of and suggested to call the operator. I did. The operator said that the bathrobes would be delivered to our room but she had no idea how soon it could be, she suggested we go pick up at the front desk if we were in a hurry. I talked to the front desk after a waiting in the line again. The lady said that we could wait in the room for the delivery. I explained, she said let me see what I have then went to the back office. After a while she went back to me with the bathrobes before I gave up. Thanks goodness.
The hotel had a new policy; guests would have to wear a wrist band in the pools. We did but we saw quite a few people didn t. In my opinion, a policy without supervision won t be a policy.
After some fun in the pools, the kids rested in our room. My girlfriend and I would like to have some private time in the lobby. But we saw a person comfortably laid down in the couch in front of the fireplace in the lobby which was obviously a public area.
We checked out at 11:50am today. The bill was $281.15. Honestly, our room in east tower was not that bad (it looked like the hotel had done some renovation) and the kids were happy with the stay, but I could not wait to go to home.
We go there twice a year for family events and love the food, the service and of course the water. We do not go to the Copper Room any more but there are many other opportunities to have good food in the hotel.
Just got back 2 hours ago. Lovely sitting in the pool with soft snow falling on your hair
Hot spring is great! Rooms are so so. Every restaurant near the hotel seems to require a reservation which is really annoying.
Loved the hours of the pool. Bath robes should be extra large. Rooms clean. 4pm tea time is a great touch.
We came to the resort after a bad experience with another hotel we had a reservation at. We came on a busy Saturday evening and did not think there would be a room available. I asked Guest Services if they knew if there was any availability and explained our situation, they confirmed they had a few rooms left. I then went to check in and the woman at the front desk was extremely nice and accommodating. I explained what we had just experienced at a previous hotel and she gave us a discount on the room, even though the situation had nothing to do with their hotel. The customer service we received at this hotel was great - from the front desk to the restaurants we were met with friendly and helpful people. Thank you for turning our vacation around!
Beautiful view over the lake. Rooms range from rustic to elegant. Service is exquisite
We stayed at a pet friendly room which not only was so decay but it was facing the pool so very noisy. Beds were so unconfortable, not worth the $319 per night.
