Hard Rock Hotel Review

We were there last week. Very big hotel. Too big! We had a room on the 8th floor which didn't look like anything the website shows. Too small.
To get off the 8th floor there was only one elevator. The other one you couldn't call on because there was no button to push. In our last 2 days that one elevator broke down. So no escape from the 8th floor!! There was a staircase but it was very old and I wouldn't recommend anybody to use it.
The elevator to go upstairs was a very, very strange one. Hope it will be fixed. The breakfast was okay, we have had better. The only thing that was perfect was the cleaning of the rooms, bravo!
I certainly wouldn't recomend this hotel, as there are better and cheaper ones.
When we checked out we were billed a second time for our stay. But that was resolved 5 days later when we got home.

It is old and has a wonderful traffic, but its location is very excellent, especially for tourists, Noo facing Hyde Park and the top of Exfood Street and close to Arab Street

Stayed in a lovely king size executive room, great view of Hyde Park, really comfy bed and great service from reception and staff. Would definitely recommend as a long weekend break. Literally at the end of Oxford St so fantastic for shopping too.

Right beside Marble Arch, the room wasn't a shoebox, the bed was comfortable and the WiFi free.

Nice location, good buffet lunch and good setup for a professional conference

Presented booking voucher provided by my companies travel provider on arrival which clearly states no need to present a credit card. Nevertheless they insisted on a scan of my credit card which they assured me over and over they would not bill. Of course you guessed it, they billed it! When I called they confirmed they could see they had taken payment from my companies travel provider and my card but wanted me to find out the document they would not believe when I presented to them on arrival to get my refund. I said "your having a laugh, get that money you have thieved credited immediately to my card!". To be fair once the manager got involved they moved very quickly and righted the wrong. Was not impressed with the overall attitude though.

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. The location is perfect and you have shopping, Hyde park, subway / bus and cafe just around the corner. Easy and close to the most turrist attractions. The reception staff are very friendly and attentive.
The room is slightly small and the window is not possible to open, but there is air conditioning, which is noisy.
The door to our room was opened by the staff without being knocked on. Hang out the do not disturb sign on the door to avoid this.
The bed was large and very comfortable.
The breakfast is good and has everything we wanted, good bread, cold cuts, hot food and good coffee. We had to get the coffee and cutlery by our selv since the staff were not so attentive to the guests.

We did not have any hot water for two hours one day, so we couldn`t take a shower in the morning, heard from other guests that they had not had hot water all day.

We also visited the restaurant for dinner one evening. Ordered burgers, which unfortunately were overcooked and dry. The waitress was quite pushy at selling more food and drinks. Called me boring when I didn't want alcohol served for dinner, not okay. Was informed that there was free refill on the soda, but it was forgotten by the staff when the glass was empty.

The next time I go to London, I think I will find a more affordable hotel in the area as the price did not match the overall experience.

The staff were deplorable. During the night shift, we find that young interns at the reception who do not have the skills to deal with problems. We got a lower room than the one we had booked, and after complaining, they told us that there were no rooms available except one without air conditioning. The next day the room key was blocked by the hotel security, because the 2 employers who changed our room, they did not register the change in the system, and the room appeared to be unoccupied.

The location is excellent / The staff is great, especially Brother Rashid is very helpful / The level of hygiene is very good / Breakfast is very modest / There is no service for transporting bags to and from the room / Air conditioning is bad / There are no restaurants or room services to order food

Good and many rooms. Typically English. Clean, maybe a little small, the rooms if you need a lot of space for two, otherwise great.

Excellent position for shopping. Very polite staff especially Theano give us a lot of informations. We shall come again

I was working there on an awards ceremony. Staff were helpful and venue was clean.

Very good hotel with friendly staff and excellent area.

A four stars deserving one.
Small rooms, frankly absurd furniture (you either open the closet or prepare a tea).
No space to empty a 2 person weekend luggage, no drawers.
bathroom in bad shape and stupid furniture/setup (the door is glass, impossible to close it tightly and worst of all the air vent wasn't working. So, no privacy for any noise/smell. The icing on the cake was the absence of the toilet brush. We are all humans, you can imagine the picture.)
Overall a very bad place in terms of comfort.
Room 2044. Price on Expedia offer 4 nights over 700 euro.

In the beginning were some mis- understanfing about our room but the team had done their best to let us feel great in our vacation. Great standart room, very good cleaning stuff, nice gym, and good breakfast.

Busy hotel, interesting musical items on the walls, live music. Was all decked out for Christmas with beautiful trees. But only friendly criticism would be they need more staff as felt breakfast and meal in evening was understaffed and a little disorganised.

Great location, great free WiFi, good service, but sadly the bldg is old. They're in the process of renovation so hopefully everything will be better.

Thought it would cost more than it did, very reasonably priced. Would go again

Now the hard rock hotel. Had a look around the lobby. Very nice looking hotel. Loddy has a memorabilia on the walls. Huge bar and food area. There was a stage to suggest live music.

I was checking in today with a really really bad and unprofessional management from the check-in desk. His name is Mr. L.I*al . I assumed he was the night shift supervisor.
We are a regular customers and we hope his behaviour improves for the sake of HardRock Hotel London.

Generally excellent service and a great place to stay; however there were various things that came up that detracted from the experience.

Reception, bar and restaurant staff were pretty on the ball and friendly. We got the impression they enjoyed their work. There seemed to be almost as many staff as there were guests.

The food was very good. They did get one of our orders wrong, but responded well once noted.

The decor and furnishings all felt modern and clean.

The TV and entertainment system was rather good, with Google casting support (but no HDMI input, sadly). The WiFi was fast when working, but seemed to drop our regularly.

The housekeeping staff repeatedly failed to undertake basic tasks, such as vacuming the floor, keeping track of whether they'd cleaned the room, and stocking the bathroom with toiletries. When we arrived the room had debris on the floor, the partitioning door to the next room was unlocked, and we had no soap. They also repeatedly knocked on our door during our stay, asking us if the room had been cleaned (in very broken English).

At 6am one morning the fire alarm went off. This in itself was not a fault; but the way it was handled was not brilliant. All guests (some not fully dressed) were paraded through the London streets to another hotel two blocks over without any coherent explanation or verbal instruction being given. Guests had to ask what the situation was and what procedure would be followed once congregated outside. Better communication would have been appreciated from the staff.

I would still recommend the hotel on the basis that the negatives we experienced were either not hugely impactful or probably isolated occurrences.

The location of the hotel really is its biggest positive; particularly if you're in London mostly for shopping.

Prime location, clean rooms,good service and competitive price.

I wasn't staying at the hotel, but was just there visiting some family that were staying there. The staff I had interactions with knew this but still treated me like I was a guest. This made for an excellent visit

Renovated, the room is clean and comfortable, it is very convenient to be located in the city center, there will be performances in the evening

Nice hotel with friendly staff but the rooms was rather small and cramped even though I had a double room it seemed small guess I am just used to bigger rooms

G Floor recieption, recieption have limited area. Chair, sofa has not enough for visiter and customer. I stand waiting fot chk in so long time. And security system security guard have not enough. Some people can go to lift eazy.

B1 floor breakfast, it is so so for line food and drink, fruit is not fresh. I like yogurt. It is good test.

Bedroom floor, symbol about room number is very confused. And room type is very small room and have smell smoking in room but i request non smoking in room. Internal restroom no have shower cap.

Benefit Hotel : 1. Near shopping center.

Good proximity to public transportation. Rooms poorly designed and overpriced.

One of the most expensive hotels I have stopped in. For me, for London, I would prefer a cheaper hotel as I would spend most of the day away from my room. A hotel in London for me is literally a pillow to rest my head, a nice shower (clean bathroom) and somewhere to eat a nice breakfast. Value for money this place doesn't offer.

Returned to Cumberland after 5 years but have to say it's different - mainly because there are massive renovations. Breakfast range was extensive but I felt that quality was lacking. Long walk from the temporary entrance to the reception. Hope the situation improves after the dust settles!

It's a good hotel, just the Breakfast room smells like eggs, even my coffee cup. Other than that concierge service is excellent as well as reception.

Feels slightly dated. But lovely food. An enjoyable day.

WARNING !!! DO NOT STAY HERE ... I REPEAT DO NOT STAY HERE !!. IF AT ALL POSSIBLE IF YOUR IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD FOR THE LOVE OF GOD RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN ... THIS PLACE IS TOXIC ( service is really bad .. very small rooms .. etc )

Shell Hotel. Central location like no other, quiet but central, clean room, modern design, live performances by bands every night, great food. Big downside, all showers have only a rain head, it is not suitable for women, what to do, anatomy, no I invented it. Turning to the hotel staff, it was discovered that there are some upgraded rooms with a tub in the bath, wanted a big difference of money and even though we proved to them that this site is not written, they mistakenly admitted but did not agree to leave us good taste and pardon the change at their expense.

A fantastic hotel with amazing attention to detail. The staff are so friendly and helpful.
The hidden gem here is the additional cafe - Hard Rock Cafe Oxford Street which offers live music most nights. There is also a great Rock Shop for the hotel with great collectables.

Great acommodations and friendly staff! Highly recommended!

Rooms are adequate but I couldn't get the air conditioning controls to function and room did not feel especially fresh with small marks on wall and desk chair
Was disappointed to be charged a different price for breakfast because I didn't add it at check in, especially as I was not told this would change the price at check in or when enquiring at reception the following morning

Large and nice hotel. Nice bar located next to the reception. Lots of staff walking around which feels safe. We saw a bag thief outside who was caught. The room was nice but the bed was a bit small for two people. We had windows facing a dull courtyard but it was quiet and peaceful which we prioritize more than views. The breakfast was very good, there was a lot to choose from. You will not be disappointed. The reason for 4 Stars is because they completely forgot our breakfast order for the room. We needed to eat early before breakfast opened. We ordered the night before and when we call down we are told that they can do nothing more than take a new order but we needed to go to catch up with the flight. They could at least remove the charge for our regular breakfast. We will probably return but be more careful about how we order their service. You should be able to trust those you talk to.

Lots of building work. Broken lifts, leaving 1 lift operational for whole hotel. We stayed on 8th floor, lifts only went to 7th floor and leaving us to walk up a fire escape staircase.

Update - date: 2 months after review posted. - hotel commented on review saying to contact their customer service, eventually I managed to navigate the broken site and contacted them explaining that I'd been asked to contact customer services. Nothing has been done, no contact whatsoever, no apology for awful stay. DO NOT STAY HERE!!

The rooms are good, but the cleanliness is not in the required manner, the sinks are not prolonged by the cleanliness, and the towels are old and torn, and the beds are only changed before entering the room and even leaving it.

Nice hotel next door to London Underground Train and close to many tourist attractions. Rooms are very small.

Hotel was ok, currently has work going on so lots of scaffolding around the outside. Lifts also breaking and massive queues to use them.

Very close to Oxford street and Regent street shopping and hyde park. It's also a walkable distance to the Buckingham palace and the Big ben. All the staff memebers are very friendly and courteous. Highly recommended if you're in the city for a leisure trip because of it's central location to a lot of the activities.

I stayed last time in Dec.2016 for about 4+9 days. I found the hotel is very well organized,clean, reception is friendly, Breakfast is the best. The only thing you will hear the alarm every day or every mid night, which bothers a lot. In all its a good selection.

Rooms are small and they were unable to accommodate changing to two beds and did not have a hideaway bed. Otherwise, the place was clean and well kept, good location, a decent breakfast.
