Best food anywhere in a fabulous setting, gorgeous gardens, wonderful service. Worth a detour of a hundred miles.

Wow what a beautiful place, food was outstanding and the setting was lovely. I proposed to my fiancee here and obviously she said yes would highly recommend to anyone, if you want a food experience this is perfect. We will be coming back to stay as my now fiancee loved it. A**

Lovely Hotel on the edge of Rutland Water in Rutland. We stopped off here on our cycle round the lake, but I have also come here for a 40th birthday meal and the service, the food and the setting is lovely. Really worth a visit as you can enjoy drinks and food in the cosy interior as well as the beautiful patio overlooking Rutland Water in the summer.

I arranged a lunch here for my husband's 40th birthday. I can not fault the food nor the young gentleman serving. However I was left red faced as we overheard a couple next to us being offered chocolate for a birthday treat. They said it wasn't their birthday. I waited for them to realise their error but we never received them. I also caught the maitre'd looking us up and down and he was also frosty to me and another guest at check out. Shame on you sir.

Unbelievable food - creative combinations executed with real skill. Service was impeccable - knowledgeable, courteous and enthusiastic. We didn't stay at the hotel, so can't comment on the rooms, but the environment downstairs was gorgeous.

Went here for lunch, staff are very friendly and efficient. The Lunch for less menu is limited but so delicious!

I have visited Hambleton Hall so many times and have never ever been spoken to so rudely as I just have!! Unbelievable! I tried to book a table for my wife s birthday and was met by rudeness, indifference and generally ignorant behaviour! It s not about the message but the manner in which it was delivered! Worse still when I asked the receptionist not to be rude, she actually told me she was not being rude! Note: customer service is in the eye of the beholder. Shocking. Such a shame that such an institution be sullied in such a way!

Special lunch at a very special place. Outstanding service to complement the sublime food. Perfect.

Didn't stay there just dropped off a customer but it looked a great place with beautiful surroundings.

Not worth the really high cost of the room and food. The staff were very nice but then at these prices why wouldn't they be. The whole place is starting to look tired and needed a bit of a revamp. I wont be staying here again. They could learn a thing or 2 from Killworth House

I visited the Hall today for Lunch with my Family for my 30th birthday and it was a lovely experience. All the staff were fantastic and the manager who's name I unfortunately didn't get was extremely helpful. All the staff made us feel welcome and not to mention the food and drinks were delicious. We will definitely be visiting again. Thank you to all the team and staff for a memorable birthday meal the service was second to none. Krish and family.

Fabulous location, beautiful house and very accommodating staff. Would recommend.

For casual diners you have to leave your dog in the Car which may not be suitable in hot weather. Did not eat so can't rate food. Dogs are OK in rooms.

I was overwhelmed at the hospitality this place offers. I had booked this place to celebrate my Girlfriends Birthday and to propose. The communication running up to the event was amazing considering we are in the middle of a pandemic. Everything I had requested was put in place. The flowers and extra gifts in the room and of course complimentary glass of champagne. On the evening of the proposal the staff were so helpful in making the area special. I was touched by all the little extras they had arranged. The food was delightful and the plate of chocolate with congratulations was a wonderful surprise. We couldn't leave with out lunch the next day and again the staff were on top form. We had a room overlooking the garden and to be fair I could of sat on the toilet all day looking at the view. If you find yourself needing a special experience this is the place to book and I'm sure I will return for our 1sy wedding anniversary thank you so much

Both meals were top class. Tasting menu was divine (make sure you are hungry!)

Breakfast in room a birthday treat. Downstairs breakfast treats are plentiful.

As good as the hotel is the staff are the stars. We felt like long lost friends. Take a bow everyone!

Very highly recommended

I wasn't really a customer of Hambleton Hall, but I felt that made my positive experience there all the more impressive. My partner fell off his bike half a mile away and needed first aid for some nasty grazes. Within 30 seconds of our entering reception and giving a brief explanation, the lovely staff had the well stocked first aid kit out and were patching him up. They really impressed me and I've really grateful for their help. I would absolutely go back!

Amazing hotel. Beautiful rooms. Exceptional service. Food is also amazing. Would certainly recommend this hotel. Would have loved to stay longer.

Beautiful gardens with views & fine dining at it's best!

Visited the driveway to see how grippy it was underfoot.
Can confirm it was not as grippy as velcro (if you had it's opposite number on your soles) but far grippier than ice.

We used Hambleton Hall as a stop over for one night. This hotel is in a beautiful setting with impressive well manicured gardens. The hotel s decor may not be to everyone s taste as it is very traditional, even a little dated. Our room was well appointed and comfortable, but was lacking many facilities such as a safe, tea and coffee facilities, mini bar or fridge and usb points for charging lap tops or phones.
There are equally impressive country house hotels offering more up to date facilities at much better value.
The highlight is the fine dining restaurant. Our meal could not be faulted. Superb imaginative dishes presented by attentive and well trained staff

We went for dinner and it was absolutely amazing. The food was great and the service impeccable. Definitely worth the price.

Everything was well thought out, the room fantastic, bathroom sublime and the food is amazing. We booked for a night away after a prison visit and you did not disappoint in any way.

We chose Hambleton Hall for our Golden Wedding Lunch because we knew it would be a special meal for our special occasion. The food was superb, flavours, textures and appearance combined to make each course a delight. Every member of staff made us feel welcome and looked after us from our warm welcome to help with our coats and kind words on our departure. Service was immaculate throughout. A lovely experience.

Have been here many times now, including for our wedding reception. Cannot be faulted; perfect setting and superb service.

Had tasting menu, wonderful, standout dishes were the appetiser and main.

Go here at least twice a year and the food always blows your mind.

An excellent afternoon spend celebrating my wifes birthday. Lunch was above and beyond. What made the visit special was the staffs hospitality warm welcome greet as well as spot on service. Lovely seating outside and cracking food. High quality food produce can see why a longstanding Michelin star rated restaurant. Hats off to you all at Hambleton Hall from a happy couple.

High luxury hotel with great restaurant and friendly service, in a quiet picturesque location

Excellent. Get a room overlooking Rutland Water. We had the blue room Michelin starred restaurant taster menu superb!

Despite the weather on the day this place was well worth traversing through the downpour for.
All staff were incredibly polite and welcoming and the parts of the house we saw whilst dining there were impeccable.


Both starter and main courses were well presented and had great flavour.

Looking forward to visiting again

Great meal for our wedding anniversary despite the loud table of wahwah's. Why do posh folk have no volume control, or consideration for others. Brexit voters too

A wonderful experience ...lunch for less is still not cheap but worth every penny... vegetarians will be astounded by a choice that is imaginative and delicious .

Fabulous lunch of octopus starter, beef main and souffle dessert + coffee etc.
