UWI, Mona Jamaica Reviews

If you are visiting Kingston going to Mona is a great option. Here you will find a mix of history and modern architecture. A visit to this campus is a trip through the history of Jamaican Architecture. Starting from the ruins of the old aqueduct to the Mona Chapel to the old Halls of residence to the ultramodern Halls and the Medical School complex. Campus is not 100% accessible.

i did the n1 or pre-science programme in 2000-2001 at excelsior community college. was forced into it by my mother. when i told her i wanted to do A levels barely learned anything because it is a fast teaching program. this program cram 2 years of A-Levels into 1 year. which is 24 weeks. (12 weeks=1 semester) if you do n1 biology the labs are only drawing specimens and small organisms. even do the teaching is fast the chemistry labs are exciting where you do experiments. didn't do physics because i failed cxc physics because it is impossible to memorize all those formulas to do the necessary mathematical calculations.

They are more concerned with money more than your healthcare no mafter what condition you are in

Diverse... it has pretty much everything you'd need, a town to itself and its close to almost everything else

Have to wait too long in lines to get through. You need more receptionist to work faster.

Reputable firm yet somehow, society succumbs not attesting to tha fact that we are a trying & succeeding nation with reference being health conscious .

Learned alot, wish I had done more for people, but that's how human beings are, I did grow in confidence, maybe a little to late , just realize how competitive the world is and I love my life , realized you cant force people to like u, so what could I have done better... I tried... And don't we all struggle with something... Nobody no perfect... Mi nah judge no man... But everybody deserves a chance and you would be amazed what can happen if you put a little love in it...couldn't thing of another place to grow but some of the best diamonds are formed under pressure,keep the pressure coming...

Very beautiful place, I think it should be a tourist destination on certain days where there can be lectures about Jamaica s history. I love the ruins and the paints and the overall construction of the buildings and I love the history behind this place that provides the highest level of education for Jamaicans.

This is a place ive been all the time. The u.w. i is like my home.

I was at the University Hospital of the West Indies visiting a close relative in hospital. Thank God she is on the mend.

The covid procedures are fully in place. Before entering the lobby a nurse does a quick interview of travel history,and takes your temperature. Then on entering there us a sanitizer.

Visiting hours are restricted to 11 -12noon and one visiyor per patient fir any one day.

When mi pickney , them reach 18, I'm sending down to University of the west indies. : )

Good University to read for your degree! I have learnt so much during my tenure. It has shaped me to be a better person and overall a fun evnvironment. It's like a little community, everything u think of can be found here

Well I used to work their my jobs was to make sure that the hospital have clean lining for the sick people,s and I was the one who operated the machines that rings and presses the linings.

Loved my experience on campus. Have memories that will last a lifetime. My life on Preston Hall was the best and I can't think of anything I would do differently.

I went to donate blood for a friend, it was so easy I was in a out in under 30 mins.

Covid 19 has been a blessing in disguise. Many of the payment services have diversified and are more streamlined and efficient. It's a great institution! The best in the Caribbean. The various admin departments professionalism are very good. The courses offered and the lecturers are both good. Cheaper than overseas counterparts but still highly rated. Just needs more parking

Doesn't seem to be very focused on students and their well being but rather focused on money. The experience is only good due to the students and some of the lecturers there. The staff, especially administrative staff, really needs "revising".

Building are easy to find, excise covid-19 measures

In order to succeed in life it is only fair and correct to receive feedback in order to learn from ones mistakes. This school does not provide appropriate feedback after examinations, so please note this before you consider this school for post secondary learning.

In areas that I work the workers r so friendly an am glad to be apart of the family that builds uwi an someday I will be a full employee not part time worker

Great place to get a degree, but it is difficult to get queries answered sometimes unless you go to the office in person.

The best university in Jamaica and the Caribbean. It s just a special feeling being here

Service need improvement, staff and processes are too slow.

It's a higher learning intstution in Kingston ,Jamaica. It has many different types of courses in almost every field you can think of. One of the best Universities in Jamaica. OKAY staff , Amazing place to meet new people, network and build yourself.

The Mona Campus is sprawling and picturesque. The skies and hills provide a harmony of breathtaking views. Students are obviously missing as remote teaching dominates amidst COVID-19 precautions, but offices are a buzz of activity. Definitely the place to learn, teach reflect and create.

Where i go when i want to relax and mediate on God's amazing love for me.

Amazing institution for growth which embodies numerous life changing experiences and opportunities for growth.

Wouldn't reccommend if you are in the computer science department. They don't care for students or value you. Try a differnt campus if you want to do computer science. I wasn't in that department I was in the math department and the treatment was so different. I would have given 1 star if it wasn't for the math department, the treatment I received from the computer science department was so awful it really affected my views of this school.

3 rough, challenging years but i loved my experience

Teaching at the Physics department is first class as is Chemistry. Come and learn in Jamaica. I am loving it.

As in all things in life you get out of Mona what you put in. I truly spent the best 5 years of my life here and not only obtained an education but life lessons as well

The campus is absolutely beautiful. The grounds are well kept and it has everything one could ever wish for-its a country of its own. It's also insulated from the outside world which equals less stress

the UWI experience is lovely, however, there is much work to be done on the campus itself, as well as the administration.

Stick to you handbook like glue and you won't go wrong with UWI

Great institution to get an education, I got my degree there, I met people from all over the world and countless opportunities are there if you seek it. Plus if you are having a issue someone will definitely assist you or point you in the right direction.

I had an appointment there today when I went only to find out that they send me a voice message that it is canceled no call only voice message I have to returned home after I waste my time and money

The customer service is so poor, I requested 2 transcripts and it s like searching for a needle in a haystack. I m always been transferred to another person or department. For a world class university, there is a level of nonchalant approach to interfacing with customers who live abroad and need to ascertain this service. UWI needs to create a positive customer service experience for all, and their service team needs to refocus what their mission statement in regards to servicing the public.

The best campus of the 3! Scenic, well kept grounds, easily identifiable faculties and buildings, abundance of fast-food options.

The University of the West Indies awesome place to be.
