I was rear ended by one of their drivers on the highway. Both cars sustained a large amount of damage. The agents can be difficult to get a hold of and they want you to follow their processes, rather than doing what is best for you. They also never seem able to get in contact with their insured. My car was in the shop for a month and they lied to the shop about sending an adjuster out. When they finally did, they would only cover a very small amount per hour for labor (well below the national average). If you are involved with a claim in this company, I highly suggest just filing through your insurance company and then having them fight to get the deductible back. Awful experience.

I've been with this company for a few years but have never had to deal with them. I was in my first ever car accident a few weeks ago and have had the WORST experience with "American Freedom". This company is out to make money. Not to help people. I've since dropped them. Go find a better Insurance company.. You'll thank me later.

The worse insurance people can have, My husband had a claim for about 2 months. They didn t contact him or nothing. I would never have my insurance with them of course I don t recommend it.

Very bad insurance, they refused to pay when I was in trouble even if there were minor damages, they sent me to collectors, and canceled insurance without reasons, I paid upfront for one and a half years. They are not serious and they are irresponsible in what they do.

The worst assurance they can get is this American freedom the worst of the worst

I'm in the claims process with these guys right now. Their phones are frequently busy and roll to a voicemail after 25-30 minutes. Their hold music is some of the most depressing music I've ever heard. They do not return emails. They do not return voicemail. My claim has been in "legal review" for like 4 weeks. Every week I call an am promised they will 'escalate' and NOTHING ever happens. In an attempt to speak with anybody else there, I requested a quote from an agent and that even went unfulfilled. This feels like a shell company to launder money or something....because they are not providing insurance.

I don't know why this insurance company still in business, they just take your hard earned money and they will deny any claim you make, they will find any excuse just to deny your claim (yes, even if you pay premium full coverage). Do yourself a favor and look for a reputable insurance company, this is pure garbage just like the people in charge of claim approvals.

I've been working for the company for 2 years and i absolutely love it! in the claims department we all work as a team and encourage each other . American Freedom is a great company with great employees!

The WORST insurance company ever!!!!!! I had to deal with them to get insurance for SR22 and I definitely regret it. My car was hit on Dec. 16 2017, claim was put in immediately and still to this very day its still under management review. There must be a time limit that they have to legally cover and it appears they waste that time to intentionally not cover their customers! THE ABSOLUTE WORST... PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. Reps are also very rude and have no problem lying to you as a loyal customer.

I have been working for American Freedom Insurance for over 2 years. It a friendly, professional and passionate work environment. Working as a team is a plus in the Company. I've learned so much as an adjuster and have grown in this Company.

I WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT ON 12/25/2017. AFTER CONDUCTING TWO RECORDED INTERVIEWS AND AMERICAN FREEDOM CONSTANTLY TELLING ME NOTHING ELSE WAS REQUIRED, THEY CALLED ME BACK AND REQUESTED MORE DOCUMENTATION WHICH WASN'T REQUIRED BY LAW.

IT'S BEEN 2 MONTHS THEY HAVE NOT CORRESPONDED WITH ME NOR HAVE THEY APPROVED OR DISAPPROVED MY CLAIM.

NEGATIVE STARS - ABSOLUTE CRIMINALS - THEY ABUSE THEIR CUSTOMERS AND COST THEM THOUSANDS AND RUIN THEIR CREDIT - I RUN A LOCAL FINANCE COMPANY AND STARTING TODAY, WE NO LONGER ACCEPT AMERICAN FREEDOM INSURANCE - EVERYTHING THAT IS WRONG WITH INSURANCE COMPANIES WILL NO DOUBT BE FOUND IN DROVES AT THIS POOR EXCUSE FOR A BUSINESS - I CAN'T IMAGINE THE DAMAGE THEY HAVE DONE TO THEIR "CUSTOMERS" AND THEIR CUSTOMER'S CREDIT - SAD AND CRIMINAL. been here since 2013 and everyone here is pretty friendly and approachable. Nice casual environment (instant savings in not having to dry clean my dress shirts). Got a nice view from my window.
Free lunches by the company here and there from local restaurants. Paid holidays. Workload can get a bit hectic during the winter months due to the nature of the business, and people in general can get a little upset over the phones, but manageable as long as you stay productive.
-cons, not that many good places to go eat around here, not flexible schedule.

I. Give this company 5 star's for having so many one star's , by the way employees that writing there own reviews for there own company don't count.

After 30 years of driving and being insured with another, more reputable company, I went through United Auto Insurance to try and save some money and lower my rates. They brokered me to this company, American Freedom Insurance-BY FAR THE WORST INSURANCE I HAVE HAD IN 30 YEARS OF DRIVING!!!! Do NOT purchase from them if you ever plan to actually use the insurance. They will not communicate with you at all. You will not get your calls answered (wait for 30 minutes to be sent to voicemail) or your messages returned. I have been waiting for 5 weeks now just to speak with someone and get information on my claim I filed the same day of my accident. I call a minimum of 4 times a week just to leave a message or be given the run around that the team handling my claim is unavailable and no one else can help me. I have requested a call back from a supervisor and manager, never have received the call. My car is STILL not authorized to be fixed even though they have all required documentation from me. It took them 3 weeks just to call me and get my recorded statement even though we had a scheduled date and time call that they never called on. 5 weeks without returned phone calls or being able to get my car fixed is absolutely ridiculous. My policy is paid in full so you should at a minimum be able to communicate with me and return a phone call.

In the process of reporting them to the department of insurance as well as filing a lawsuit due to intentionally neglecting and choosing not to acknowledge the valid documents (which they already had in their possession) in order to successfully proceed with my claim after waiting 8 weeks.

This is not a real insurance company, it is surreal that such a fraudulent company is allowed to operate in Illinois.

I called to file a complaint with the states secretary of commerce and they are already under investigation so I recommend anyone that has had to displeasure of dealing with this fake insurance company to do the same, they state took down all my details and the more examples of bad faith insurance they have the sooner Illinois will no longer be plagued by them.

Actually I don't give this company any stars. This is the worst Insurance Company ever. I would not recommend this company to anyone. They don't work with you. Someone insured with this company hit my car. I was at no fault. I was sitting at a red light when this man hit me. He said he wasn't paying attention but somehow its part my fault. They only estimated the damage to be $1,500
Of course their estimator. I took my car to 3 places. Total damage was over $7,000.

ABSOLUTE the worst insurance company. I was involved into a car accident since someone hit me from behind on highway. This insurance company said it was my fault and wanted to trick me into a settlement that was way below other insurance company offered. I declined. I don't know any reason this company can exist.

I had to give them ONE star to write a review but they don't even deserve ONE. My mother was involved in an accident and was rear-ended by their insured and we were told we would receive an estimate within 2 weeks after us driving to their FAR Lockport, IL location for them to just take pictures and not give us an estimate on site. 4 weeks later, I call and they tell us that since they have not been able to get a hold of THEIR insured AND since THEIR insured did not report the accident, that my mother's claim would be denied and that we could sue them on our own. UH WHAT?! Ludacris!!!!! Why should we have to deal with this nonsense because their insured sucks and can't even report something that they did?! So now we are having to go through our insurance and go after American Freedom. American Freedom is by far the WORST insurance company ever. If you get hit by someone with American Freedom, buckle up for a ridiculous ride of a headache.

The worse insurance i spend 3 months with a claim, when i call only said "is under review" bad bad insurance

If u call them your on the phone for almost a hour then it just hangs up this is 1 insurance company i would not deal with or have anyone else deal with at all they suck!

Waiting for 4 months now to get my settlement from there insured driver that rear ended me. They continue to lie and hang up on me. I guess my lawyer will have to deal with this one!

All the time the lines were busy no matter what time you called and after waiting more than 45 minutes they cut you off

Do not pay for this insurance crap I had a full cover and my car was parked a truck what damage was reported to the freedon isuranse and they commented that they could not do anything they are only good at collecting the monthly fee is crap iii

Don't pay for this trash insurance. I had fullcover and my car was parked a truck damaged it. I informed freedon insurance and they said they couldnt do anything. There just good at making you pay the monthly fee !!!

If I could give this company zero stars I would. This company has been giving me the run around for almost 4 months now. My date of loss was September 10th, 2015. Today is December 8th, 2015 and they are still giving me the same excuse over and over again, saying that the rental agreement dates do not match the date of loss. First off, American Freedom is telling me that they "try" to get in contact with Hertz, (the company they need to get rental agreement from) and apparently it has taken then 4 months to get a hold of a single representative to fax over their required documents. I contacted Hertz myself and their supervisor told me they were not even aware that the client had personal insurance (American Freedom). Lori Corzi from Hertz told me they had to hire a team to figure out if the client had personal insurance. This goes to show that American Freedom insurance has not made any attempts to even contact the Hertz company. They simply do not want to pay for the damages their client has caused. This is why they are not attempting to even obtain all of the required documentation. I cannot believe that insurance companies like this even exist. The Illinois department of Insurance is going to here about this. It's not fair to anyone to be out of a vehicle for 4 months just because an insurance company does not feel like actually doing their job of obtaining the required documentation. Now again, I have to call Hertz myself to get the supervisor to send over the rental agreement for the 3rd time because I know American Freedom will do no such attempt to contact them.

I wish I knew more about this company before buying their policy. If I could give them zero star I would. Very dishonest people. I called them 13 times today. They dropped the call 11 times and sent it to voice-mail 2 times. Never in my history of having insurance have I experienced such unprofessionalism. I need you to approve my estimate as soon as possible. In the same manner that I have been diligent with my monthly payments.

The company is a joke one off back when talking too the representative he already accused the truck man and two I showed you all the proof needed, called you back in that time frame you are claiming. Zero stars!!! WORST INSURANCE COMPANY. Not sure how they are in business until this day. Horrible customer service. Constantly put on hold or sent to voicemail as if they never have staff in office. Claim from 10/30 and still have not seen an adjuster or even a call back to discuss further actions and It is now 12/8. The customer service team just forwarded my call and put me on hold without asking any information after I requested to speak to a manager in their claims department this morning. Guess where I was sent to? ANOTHER VOICEMAIL . I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. I wish I would have read reviews before I even got this.

Terrible company i was rear ended by their client while he was driving a rental and nothing has been done for a month now and they leave everything up to me haven't gotten any phone calls, nothing in the mail and there's 3 insurance companies involved and my broken car is in my driveway sitting here collecting rust and dust. Good luck if you are hit. Was rear ended and have been fighting with them to even get a claim number. Finally was able to get one after numerous phone calls so I took my car to the body shop whom then informed me that American Family would not return their calls gave them the run around and refused to pay standard rates to repair my vehicle along with stating that they would not pay for a rental but to pay for it yourself and submit the bill for payment to them. After talking with the individuals at this company I don't trust anything that is said by anyone here. How is it legal to let a business run like this. If I could leave negative stars I would. I feel sorry for anyone else that ever has to deal with this so called insurance company.

I have been working at American Freedom for about 6 years and we take pride on the work that we do and assist our customers with pure professionalism and great customer service.

So on American Freedom home page it states that "we are ready and waiting to provide the insurance protection you and your family need". This is so not the case when it comes to failing a hit a run with them.
My brand new 2017 vehicle was involved in a hit & run on March 3rd 2017. So when i reported the incident to AFI, they made sure to point out that if i could not show proof of myself & my wife being married the claim will be denied. I got them the proof, and then they came with something else saying i took too long to file the report with the police, mind you i saw the accident @ 10:00am I got my 3 boys ready made it to the police station & waited my turn in line & the officer put 11:30am. So AFI says that was too long & if i could not show proof of calling the police before going to the station the claim will be denied. I got them the proof that i called 911. After several weeks AFI finally approves the claim & it's in the body shop, after a week i call the body shop for an ETA, they say it will be done in a day but AFI did not include the bumper. I then call AFI and they say they need pictures showing my vehicle before the hit and run to include the bumper in the claim. I should have reviewed this insurance company before the dealership put me on AFI policy. Needless to say today is April 11th 2017 & my vehicle is still not fixed. Please guys stay away from American Freedom Insurance. They are really no good and they don't work for the policy holders.

To start - I am forced to give one star but would prefer ZERO STARS! This insurance company is a joke. For anyone who has been involved in an accident with one of their insured, GOOD LUCK! They are very unprofessional, the run around is ridiculous, they want you to sign off saying they are not responsible for anything else once the original insurance check is written. (Which they will not send you this check until you have already paid for the total amount of repairs out of pocket - so you are out the money until they decide to send you the check). They will not set up your rental, and expect you to pay for it under their conditions and then will possibly reimburse you at their convenience. I have never worked with an insurance company like this one who has absolutely NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. My opinion is to turn a claim into your own insurance and allow them to fight this battle for you.

SOOOOOOOO rude! I literally just got off the phone with one of their "agents" and let me tell you, this is one of the reasons why i switched and cancelled. if you dont like ur job get a new one! I've ALSO noticed that the only good reviews on here are coming from the people who work their. lmfaooooo
