Nice place. I would like to see a bit more enthusiastic penguins (like in the Lisbon oceanarium). Maybe it was too hot for them? Otherwise the fishes and sharks were amazing. Our kid enjoyed them so much

The Aquarium in Monaco has a bigger variety of fish species but Barcelona stays in my heart due to its beautiful and playful penguins. If you guys ever let us take penguins home, I'll be the first to do so!

Lovely Aquarium to bring the kids to, I feel they had plenty of sections designed for the kids to enjoy, while the species weren't anything special and most of them can be found in most aquariums but as a family activity it is perfect

It's probably alright if you've never seen nothing like this before, otherwise it's just another aquarium. Absolutely nothing special if only the "underwater" experience. Price wise seems overpriced for what it is. Make sure you buy your tickets online to avoid the que and save a little bit.
If I knew what it was I wouldn't go.
Saying this it's quite busy so people must be finding something in it.

It s not the greatest aquarium, considering that is located in Barcelona i thought it would have more things to do and see, though it was entertaining and the staff was very nice! Kids love this place

The place is located in a incredible place, very easy to arrive! Inside you can see all kind of fish and all guides are very gentle and kind to response! The price is a bit expensive but you can easily pay less with some tricks!

This gave us joy. Lots of opportunities to see and learn about what goes on under the sea. The under sea tunnel is fantastic. Sharks, stingrays, and more. Very clean which proved they were well looked after. I would highly recommend for adults as well as children.

We searched for a place we could enjoy while it was raining outside. It was very busy and crowded. I wish they limited the amount of people like others attraction in barcelona. So overall it was nice and suited for kids and families but the amount of people hurt the fun

Good place

Good place
Good location - easy to reach with public Transportation
Entrance was amazing
Price is average - 21
Stuff were helpful and friendly

The inner decorations and overall experience was not nice, because i have visited much more beautiful Aquariums in other countries

Recommended unless you expect something extraordinary

This is located in the old port or old harbor area but is not the easily accessible through public transport - especially if it is an holiday. Apart from that, the collection and maintenance is good. Shark pool was the best. Could be more user friendly though.

Nice aquarium, not too small or too big. Show few times a day, at additional fee there is an option to dive with the sharks, pictures are taken at the entrance and can be purchased before the exit. There is also a souvenir shop.

Good aquarium, took us a couple of hours to get around.

Wording on the signs in Catalan, Spanish, and English. Staff speak multiple languages.

Guided tours were possible and a shark diving experience was also available.

20 per adult entry fee.

It's fairly linear until you get to the penguins where it's all open plan and you might miss bits so have a good walk around.

Beautiful aquarium. Really close to the city center. Adults pay 20, but it's worth every penny. Takes about 2 hrs to see everything at a normal pace. Lots of activities for children and also has a restaurant. The newest attraction is shark cage diving which costs 150 per person but has to be booked in advance.

What a lovely place to visit dam, I was stunned to visit this place. Very much amazing, full of almost many stuff, fun place .

Just a tip for people who are visiting, buy the tickets online and in advance which will safe a lot of time and there is no need to stand in the lime for hours.

It's not the greatest aquarium in the world but it's good enough. The part where you can go through a tunnel and see the sharks swim just 0.5m above you is great but there wasn't a lot of info available about each fish. Also there wasn't much about the oceans in general. The gift shop has some good stuff

You can see quite interesting things. Crowded with kids, so if you came to relax and stare for a minute in fish tank, that's not gonna happen'. Overall not so bad, but tickets are 20e per person..to be honest 10e per person is just fine, for this kind of experience you can get there. 150e for scuba-diving with sharks means you will get diving suit and walk on some small bridge and you will have to crouch to be underwater so you can see the sharks..again 150e for that is too much.. 50e will be just fine..

Great place to visit but here is why I give it 2 stars. The line to get tickets is too long, but fortunately I was able to get them online while being in line, so I was able to get in quite fast. The price was like 20 euros per person and this is where I remove the 3 stars...even though the exhibition is nice once you get to the main tank with sharks, we spent about 30-45 minutes from door to door, so the price is way too high for the time you get to tour the place. If the price would have been like 10 euros per person, then it would have been a good value, but 20 euros per person for 30 minutes is too high. Lastly, they have restriction barriers in front of smaller tanks so that people are not supposed to cross to allow a maximum number of people to enjoy the aquariums, but there is zero enforcement, so there were always tons of kids standing on the glass of the tanks so i was not able to take a single good photo prior to getting at the main tank (I know, I am getting old and grumpy)...

A fun air conditioned place to visit in the summer. Feeding times are never accurate on the website so best to call up before you visit to get accurate feeding times if you want to see that. Hygiene is very good with sanitation stations throughout.

Top tip - book online for 20% off :))

There is a huge variety of sea life creatures to look at. The underwater tunnel was amazing. The kids loved it and we would come back again. However, it was a little bit short, as it only takes just over an hour to see everything.

Too crowded, expected to see more. Visitors are rude, not waiting turns, pushing others away, not obeying obviously displayed rules (like no flash photography, no touching the fish, ...) and there's not a good crowd control system in place nor any employees around should you need them. You get a 10% discount for the cafeteria when buying a ticket but even then it's obnoxiously expensive and limited choice in snacks (unless you want candy bars).

It's suppised to be the biggest one in Europe. In reality it's not that big. Lots of children, running and disturbing the people. All the glass on the fish tanks is scratched, sometimes one cannot even properly see, what's inside. The Moscow oceanarium is better, the biggest one in Thailand also. Pointless waste of 18 euros

Very impressive aquarium, but I expected something "bigged" but just because I had remembered it larger from my childhood. Dolphins, sharks, morays, rays and so on. You can also see many many penguins here! They are so cute even though they would be more happy free in the nature.

Unfortunately, from one of the best aquariums in Europe some years ago, it became just an aquarium - water animals behind the glass, not even a bit more. Scheduled "animations" are just feeding times with no explanations: a person comes (or dives in case of big aquarium) and throws food into the water - that's it. Nothing interactive, no tasks for kids. Instead the stuff is occupied with taking pictures of visitors and selling them. We felt that this aquarium has forgotten what its role is: explaining about nature, oceans, animals, their problems, etc. A pity!

Despite the interesting collection of fish that they boast, It feels like quite the outdated aquarium, especially since the fee is quite high. It might be entertaining to small children but that is about it. Would much rather advise on spending the entry fee tickets on a nice coffee somewhere within the Gothic quarter or next to the sea.

Nice place to see the living creatures, their habitat and corals. But some of the aquariums seemed especially sad - the octopuses were very distressed, also some of the larger fishes seemed like dying. I'm not sure I'll go to an aquarium ever again. Its just too depressive and a lot of the fish tanks were too small for the count of fish. Penguins were cool tho and enjoying the attention.

The aquarium was great however the staffs were terrible.
We had trouble with the luggage storage as it was not working and none of them wanted to help. We waited there for more than 15 minutes while I asked for help but they didn't care.

Edit 31st July:
In response to your reply.
I don't "believe" I was treated unwell. I was indeed treated unwell and unprofessionally. I asked for help with 2 of the staffs that were near the entrance. They waited until the entrance didn't have any people which is fair but didn't bother to help even after it was clear. Finally after my consistent call for help, one of them came with a coin like thing to help me with the locker. I had already put in two coins. She determined that the locker was indeed broken and we used a different one. You can refer to my visit by cctv or anything to train your staff. I had visited in the early hours of May 30th 2019.

Very disappointing Aquarium. If you want to see Doris you can find her in there x 1000 but don't expect to see much else. Valencia Aquarium is by far the best, this one in comparison doesn't even cut it.
1/ Information on fish is not up to date. The fish are either not in the right aquarium or not at all. Many aquarium are very small and doesn't look very good. I was surprised to see a lonely lobster...
2/The aquarium itself looks old
3/There are activities for kids but at the end and it's quite limited. Although the submarine is pretty cool. 4/I was surprised that they were no turtles (only one), which I'm always fond to see and the penguin aquarium wasn't really appealing.
5/The tunnel was ok but not really exceptional.
6/ Don't expect to see the octopus move( in Valencia they were many and moving, it was magnificent!)

Overall: I was thinking taking a annual pass because I have a kid but I'm glad I didn't! Make a day trip and go to Valencia instead you'll thank me later!

It is a very interesting museum. There are many species of fish. When you pass the entrance of the museum they ask you to take a photo of you and your friends. You can take the photo at the end of. It costs about 15 per person if you want to buy two pieces. For more the price is cheaper.

It s not the largest aquarium I ve seen, but still a good one. There habitats look clean and they seem very respectable and carrying of the animals in there charge. It s a fun place. A tiny bit expensive, but knowing the admission goes to helping wildlife easies the sticker shock

Undersized aquariums.. too fishis for so little space.. poor animals!
The tunnel underwater is cool but there is nothing else.. tree or four tanks... a very small aquarium, I was expecting something more from a attraction of Barcelona (also for the prices) .. the Genova s aquarium is 10000 times better!

L'Aquarium is an expansive aquarium that is best for kids. Some of the displays are fairly dated, but really you come for the fish.

Things to notice - the city view deck, the kids play area, and the Amazon Rainforest display.

Really interesting. A great variety of rare species from both the "micro" and "macro" world. The only disturbing thing is the noise... much noise to be accurate. There should be found a way for this. Not matching with the serenity of the underwater world. Think about it guys.

Really amazing place. Wasn't as big as I thought it would be, was over quite quickly. But really well kept, clean environment. The tanks were amazing and the tunnel was a great experience.

Perfect indoors for a rainy day in Barcelona! Penguins and the tunnel with sharks were the highlights. Saw Shark and ray eggs for the first time
Cafeteria is not that great, but enough for a quick bite.

Very busy when visited and forgot to book tickets in advance but managed to get online and pay for family tickets while queing. Better to fast pass it as the normal queue was very long. Inside, there is a good number of displays of the different coastal depths and associated fish. Also some penguins with a jungle and reptile section. The cafe has a fast food part and a normal food section. Both are good but expensive. Would visit aquarium again.

It's a beautiful aquarium with lots of different species to see.
But, especialy at the beginning of the tour, there are some aquariums where is defenitely not enough space for the creatures inside.
Also some of the aquariums seemed to be overpopulated.
Pictures are following.

We were there towards the end of the schedule so it was not that packed. It is overall nice, but really overpriced for what it provides.
The visit takes about 1 hr (stopping for pictures and reading some of the info about maribe life and different seas and oceans). If you go with kids, expect to spend some 2 hr.

On a separate note: I was disspointed on the bad state of the aquariums' plexiglass (or whatever the material is) - it so scratched and old in some places that it's hard to take a decent picture.

Quite an impressive aquarium. It has a large variety of species: several shark types, stingrays, one kind of penguins, lots of exotic fishes as well. I bought the ticket online for 18 EUR (normally it's 20, I think). It's a very good quality for a price. Some reviewers got angry about "plastic jellyfishes", but these tanks take a tiny a area of the aquarium, I wouldn't even think about it, if it wasn't mentioned by the others.
TL;DR version:
Considering the quantity and the quality of the fishes, I think it's worth seeing. I am actually surprised the ticket price can support the maintenance of the large facility. Better skip Picasso museum and go here instead.

If you previously have been in similar aquarim(-s) then probably it will not be so interesting experience for you. However if you never been then most probably you will enjoy it. We enjoyed.

When I heard they have the Luna / Sun fish, I knew I must see it! For I always thought it was extinct. It was just amazing to see this ancient creature that went through thousands of years!

Worst aquarium I've been to, looks like they haven't invested in it since the 90's (except for the merch they want to sell you). Little to no information about the species present, lazy. Complete ripoff, I do not recommend this place.

A bit too touristy for my taste. Felt more like a tacky funfair than a place where children can learn about the sea and its conservation. The glass tunnel under the large tank with sharks and rays was quite impressive. But otherwise, the place was tight, dark and overcrowded. The tanks looked small with very little space for the sea creatures in there.

I think it is a nice place to go with the little ones. However I felt it was way too overpriced for it was. There is not a lot to do with kids at all and they do get bored very quickly. It will probably take you less than an hour to get around the whole Aquarium as it s fairly on the small side and gets crowded very quickly. They need to provide better walk ways and maybe a interactive play or activity area for kids? Overall I did enjoy it and if in the area and need to pass time it s worth a visit.

Looks like it hasn't been renovated since the 90s. Could use a few more fish seemed like they only had one or two of each kind. Same with the bigger fish. Could use a few more exhibits in general.
