a very beautiful aquarium with many colorful fish that if you come to Barcelona you must visit it
One of the principal atractions of Barcelona. Well organized, many things to see. It also offers an amazing view of the seaport.
Lovely day out with the kids. Love the tunnels. All the sharks above u in the water.
Amazingly brilliant and the walk under the tunnel to see the sharks over is breathtaking and truly marvellous experience. One for all ages and a must see and the gift shop has all sort of memorabilia for the occasion. Really enjoyed every second of it and to see so many species of fish and adorable penguins. Just perfect.
Good place to spend an hour and a bit, but just really really crowded making it difficult to see everything easily.
Great variety of different fish and sea life. Was a nice stroll around but take your time as it's slightly shorter then we expected.
Once upon a time..20 euro PP is to much for thuis aquarium. Dates in collection, presentation and maintenance. They have to choose: close it or renovate it. Seen much better in for example Lissabon.
I've already visited a few aquariums and this one of the best in Europe. You will see many species of sea animals in well-kept and nice areas. I recommend.
Must see. The tunnel is awesome. And I've seen so many new and beautiful animals. Just awesome.
Just great. Went in the morning. Friday. Saw the sharks. Impressive. Well organized.
Great place to be. Beautiful basin with a very large shark.
Very nice and compact. You can cover the place comfortably in 1.5 hours.
A decent aquarium. I've been a few times. Slightly underwhelming compared to the giant first room you walk into. Still some nice exhibits, slightly outdated decor but my very young son enjoys seeing the fish.
Really enjoyed it here. Very clean and lovely to see all the different fish. So many colours and so many different types and different sizes. All looked happy and healthy. Well worth a visit if you can get to it.
Great aquarium. Hundreds of different species of fish the great shark tunel
Not bad, but overall pricy for what you get.
Expect 1 to 1.5 hour for adults as it lacks interactions and story behind the multiple tanks. Kids can find it more interesting specially by the end as there are some activities for them.
When my wife and I went to the Aquarium on our honeymoon, we were disappointed with the quality of the facility as well as the staff (namely the lack thereof throughout the exhibits.). The facility was cramped, making it difficult to navigate. While this is no fault of the Aquarium, the amount of patrons there made it a less enjoyable experience; it was LOUD, small children were banging on the glass without repercussion, children were sneaking behind bars/rails set up to distance the crowds from tanks, etc. This brings up why the staff was a letdown for us- there was NOBODY there scattered among the fish/octopus/shark exhibits to crowd control. Those poor animals had to deal with small children whose parents permitted harmful behavior. All it would have taken was one staff member to firmly remind people (children) not to touch/bang on the glass. Overall- if you're in Barcelona, you can skip out on the Aquarium, you''re not missing anything worthwhile (certainly not worth the overpriced ticket for an underwhelming experience).
It is a nice and small place which is big enough to keep your kids entertained for a good 2 hours. The restaurant is so so. I like the open air playground. The thing causing the 3 stars (instead of 4) is the price. I think it is on the high end compared to what you are getting.
Lots to see here, even if you have been here before. Perfect place to hide from the heat and see some of the weirdest underwater creatures
There is huge queue while buying a ticket in ticket office , so if you can, buy it online. We entered immediately. Very big territory and lots of entertainment for children. You can buy souvenirs from the shop. Prices for enter & souvenirs are extremely high, that s why 4 stars:)
Great place to go and spend an afternoon... They have a lot of different species. From any fish you can imagen sharks, eels, octopus, penguins and sting rays of all sizes. I loved the under water tunnel you can just spend half a day there relaxing and the gift shop has a lot of souvenirs at great prices!!!
Food Therapy Puerto Rico is on YouTube/ Facebook
A superb family visit. Best aquarium I've been too with plenty of space to see the exhibits. The shark tunnel is fabulous.
An absolute must!! If your visiting Barcelona you need to go here!! Cheap and amazing!! there are huge sharks in an underwater tank that you can stand on a conveyer belt and it takes you underneath excellent experience and I would even go again
Awesome place. We've stopped here for a couple of hours while on a cruise through the Mediterranean Sea. A lot to see. Great tanks. Well structured and enjoyable.
Nothing special but it's not bad eather.its nice for kids but I've seen better. The 21 euro it's a little bit much for that exhibits
Not so big as expected. Very expensive... everything inside. Sharks are great, but there are instincts missing (good for divers ;))
I really liked this aquarium (tunnel, penguins) but I always have this feeling that these animals are still in prison and need more space and especially their natural habitat. I.e we can see how axolotls are in aquariums albinos but in nature they are dark.
This aquarium is not so big. Beautiful fishes. Gentil personal.
we loved this aquarium. one of our favorite things to do when we visit new places is check out the aquarium and Barcelona did not disappoint. they had different type of fish that we never seen plenty of sharks and the walk through the tunnel was absolutely beautiful. my daughter really enjoyed herself and loved watching the penguins being fed. I definitely recommend coming here especially if you have little ones they will have a blast.
It was advertised as one the best, but it's good but not the best of many of this kind
It s really nice. Wasn t a big as I thought it would but still a nice spot. Children would love it !
Well organized and has nice collection of marine life. But a bit small and limited for 21 euros per person in my opinion.
Beautiful but small, playground and feeting the fisches was awsome
Overall, it was a pleasant a experience but nothing more. It felt like the whole aquarium (including the enclosures) had been neglected. A lot of the signs that were above enclosures were outdated and demonstrated animals that weren t in the enclosures anymore. The penguin enclosure was by far the saddest. It was covered in their excrement and the glass looked like it hadn t been cleaned in awhile. For 21, it definitely wasn t worth it.
Wouldn t recommend.
A very good aquarium to visit. Variety of species of aquatic life can be seen. They also have swim with the sharks event but it was quiet expensive!
Great place. Not as big as I expected but still a great place to visit
First thing, buy your tickets online. The line to get tickets was horrendous. Second, go early. Even shortly after opening this place was quite congested. By the end of the visit we felt the price was a bit too high for the overall experience. But it s an ok refuge from the heat and entertaining for kids.
It is a nice place to visit, but I find it small.
They have a nice variety of pisces and other sea livings.
Ok if you like marine life. For me is not worthing the 21 that I played, but that's only my opinion. Great for kids
Very nice, but overpriced and visit only lasts 60-75 minutes. Palma and Valencia aquariums are much better.
Just amazing loved being so close to all the fish and sharks
It is amazing to see all the marine species that you can see in this aquarium, it is fantastic to go with the family, it is very enjoyable
Absolutely fantastic aquarium not just for children tickets online easy and without stress
Love this place! Very big, a lot to see. Recommend especially for families. There are some cool things for children to play. And there is some kind of Cafe inside. There is a huge pool which you walk through in a glass tube at the bottom. This place is one of my biggest impressions from Barcelona.
This was an interesting experience but other than rays and shark i didnt see something special in particular and some animals of fishes were missing
Great place, it has good expositions, even has a few sharks, now who doesn't want to see a shark?
If you have time definitely check it out, takes around 2-3 hours to go through it.
One of a kind. You actually walk through a tunel surrounded with sharks!! Not to be missed. Waiting line too big. Better buy the "skip the line" tickets.
Lots to see. Great day out, make sure you use the 2 discount on most flyers.
Such fish. So amazing.
Saw a shark eat a little fish, his name was Nigel. The fish, not the shark. All of Nigel's friends knew their time was coming and were swimming nervously in a tight circle at the top of the tank. Poor Nigel.
The 2 out of 5 stars is generous in my opinion. Not the first aquarium I visit and it was by far the worst experience I had at one.
The ticket price is way overpriced! It took me less than an hour to go around and I read everything. I mean it could be great for small kids but for adult is really not educative. The information is too less to be considered interesting.
Additionally, the service is awful! The ticket lady didn't care much to give information after we paid our ticket. One of the entrance lady was rude when we need help for the locker. There was no clear instruction on how to do it. We took the big locker which cost 2, I put 2 coins of 1 and it didn't work. We asked her help and she gave us 2 FAKE coin and complain to us that she pays for our locker!?! I'm confused by her attitude.
In the entrance there is another lady who force us to take family picture with the plastic shark. I said no, she kept forcing me to take picture. I mean, why though?? I don't want them to take my picture in front of fake plastic shark.
The only 'good' thing is the tunnel, but it was like 3mins trip. So 21 ticket is waayy too much, better save your money to get some good Paella.
I had a 25% discount and my kids were free (as they are under three) so it only cost me 15 , which I think was good value. However, if I d paid full price and for my kids too, I would have been a bit disappointed. The play areas for kids upstairs were a little shabby and uninspiring and it only took us about an hour and 15 mins to see everything. Good for a rainy morning or afternoon.
A little underwhelmed by the size of the aquarium in comparison to other things in the city. In saying that had a very good selection of species to see and the tunnel walkthrough is very impressive!
Fantastic experience! When you find yourself in this city you MUST go to the aquarium!
It's starting as a normal Aquarium and then a surprise tunel it's awaiting which gives you a perfect insight
By the way, it has a "Shark encounter"- basically you go on a cage underwater and see the sharks face-to-face ;)
Loved visiting the aquarium! Beautiful fish and close to La Rambla. So walking distance to visit during the day.
It's not really worth the 21 you pay as an adult. At the end of the day, it's still just fish in an aquarium so if you saw any other aquarium you'd be better off spending it something else - in other words, there's nothing special or extraordinary to see here. I would recommend it for kids though.
It is one of the most beautiful aquariums in the world. I always think about this aquariums when I go to visit other aquariums. I cannot say that I see much nicer aquarium than in Barcelona.
The Aquarium has been around for many years and is still in good condition however its much smaller to how I remembered it and it can be a bit overpriced for what is on offer. Even a photos costs 12 euros which I think is a bit of a rip off.
We went with a toddler and he really enjoyed it. It wasn't too long for him and he liked all the parts including the little play area
at the end.
This is a very small aquarium so don't expect much. I thought it was adequate for 5 to 13 year old children. There are some nice attractions like being able to "swim" with the sharks if you want to scuba dive in a cage net type area to watch the sharks up close. Great place for young children as it looks like it us geared toward that demographic.
Much better then the zoo and for the money you cant go wrong. Quite a small aquarium but a range of different things to see and quite enjoyable as an aquarium should be.
World's largest aquarium! 80 metres long tunnel. Make sure to go at the time of shark feeding time to get a better experience. Great place for kids. Don't stare too long through the glass or you ll get headache because of refraction of light.
Definitely not enough space for the animals, in the most cases. And especially the penguins seemed to be maladjusted. It was very hard for me to watch them swimming against the glas again and again.
Some pools were set up loveless. Just water and some stones on the ground.
I am a little bit disappointed.
But the pool with the sharks was beautiful and nice to watch.
Pretty standard to some other aquariums that I've been to. Was sad to find out that they didn't have any sea turtles and a very small amount of jellyfish. The large tube shaped tank with sharks and other fish is always amusing while standing on the moving belt. I was probably looking forward to this attraction the most and got pretty much what was expected... Except of course some sea turtles.
See this place if you haven't been to other aquariums. It's cool but nothing too special. The main attraction are the sharks in the big tank and the tunel leading through it where you can walk and see the sharks swimming above you.
Amazing aquarium! I love the option of buying e-ticket and how easy and fast you can start your journey into the rooms
Really nice place, You can See marine life from around the world. One ticket for an adult is 21 eur. Among many things you can walk through the tunel where you can spot couple of big fish, even sharks.
Awesome place to go with the kids. You can save a lot of time by buying tickets online. Also check the feeding animals timetable to enjoy it even more.
My wife stepson and I had a really great time here. There was minimal waiting for our entrance. A family photo was taken which we had the option to purchase later when leaving. We chose to. The aquarium seemed larger than it probably was so space is well used. So much to see here and very interesting. Lots of pics taken. The large shark aquarium was of course busy but we just took our time waiting to get the pics we wanted.
Everyone should find this place a rewarding visit when they come to this great city.
This was a Verrry well done aquarium. They had many fish, octopuses, tanks, and a walkway that let you be under/in the big tank. We saw a diver feed the sharks, rays, eels, and fish. The younger kids that were there seemed to love it too. They had a cafe and gift shop.
Really cool, but it felt a little dated and pricey. But, still, super cool.
Coral reef displays are spectacular. Range of their saturated colors is an eye candy. And to see the corals move and breathe was such beautiful experience that they are alive.
The aquarium has a dated feel, its big sign outside says they have a movie theater (IMAX type) when that has not been working for years. The entrance ticket is expensive, and the aquarium is rather small. While animal life is good-great, the aquarium needs to upgrade itself and provide better services in order to be on a tourist s bucket list.
Its huge and beautiful.the underwater tunnel is magical. Kids would love it there too. It is accessible to people on wheelchair. You can have your pictures taken at the end of the walk thru the aquarium. Big variety of sea animals
It is an interesting place, but not sure, I would visit it again. It's fairly small. The only upside is the walk-through tunnel, where you can observe the sharks and stingrays swimming over you.
A "must see". Really many kinds of fishes and other sea animals. Great views. A lot of people inside, but still you can view and take photo of anything without any problem. Glass tunnel in the biggest tank is awesome.
My kid loved the tunnel. I believe it is the highly of the whole thing and then the penguins.
Interesting and educational place, especially for children with lots of games and attractions for younger. The fish and other animal are very nice, and the best impression are made by sharks from the main pool. There are also other animals less associated with the aquarium, including penguins, which unfortunately look sad.
Must visit place and tourist attraction in Barcelona . Not much expensive place , lots of fish from all over the world .
This is one of the best aquarium we visited till now . Lots of fishes and very big aquatic collections .
Highly recommendable for kids and adults .
One place you must visit for sure. It's a fantastic place.
I like this aquarium are following up the trend of freshwater "nature aquarium", though the largest show tank lacked quite a bit in maintenance. All other more traditional tanks was like most other public aquariums; poor design concept regarding the organism composition of the ecosystems and also here lack in maintenance. However a bit better hardscapes than the average place. I also feel strongly against keeping animals such as penguins, like this aquarium does.
Visited at 5pm and was really crowded and loud. For a 21 entry fee not even an info brochure was included. Most of the aquarium was more or less the same and not really worth it.
Not an animal rights activist, but I felt really bad for many of the animals in there, especially the penguins.. recommend you spend your money somewhere else
I ve seen better before. Nice place. Middle sized but well made. Deco and fish are beautiful... A lot of children attractions at the end of the visit..
Good aquarium, bit costly, a huge one, many types of fishes, sharks... Good experience. Worth it!!!
L'oceanarium is a very great place to visit with small and adults. The tour takes around 2 hours where you can see many small and big aquarius. There are many spices of fishes, sharks, water turtles and other water creatures like medusas.
Recommended!
If you take a barcelona airport bus from the airplane to city you can get a discount coupon. Normal ticket cost 20 euro. There are also family tickets, over 65 get a discount ticket.
Great aquarium, compares well to Monterey Bay Aquarium.
