Dirty rooms...was not happy with our stay there. Glad it was only one nite
The location is great. The scenery & surrounding areas such as the large golf course & car spa, the courtyard with a beautiful pool & fountain, I loved that. However, the rooms were incredibly out dated & disappointing. The hair dryer didn t work, the sofa bed read out of order when we went to pull it out, the carpets I don t think I have been changed since they opened the place, the tvs were very old and small. But worst of all, the beds were so uncomfortable I could cry. I had trouble sleeping every night tossing & turning. My kid didn t even want to sleep in the second bed it was worse than the first one. Unfortunately I can t say we d come back unless there was some definite remodeling going on.
Nice hotel and ballrooms but entrance sign need to be more clear.
Booked our stay here pre cruise. 4 nights.
Pulling into the "resort" it looks amazing.
Couldn't be farther from the truth.
Let's start with the check in. They copy your driver's license (not unusual) they also copy your credit card. Not acceptable in my book.
Upon receiving our keys; we find out that parking is very limited. The golfers also utilize the parking lot which is about 30 spots total.
It's about 2 blocks walking distance from the parking lot to our actual room.
Arrival into the room: were to begin. You feel as though you're stepping back in time. Brown very dirty carpet on the floor. Furniture is from the 60's easy. The door has a two inch gap at the bottom. So literally anything could crawl into the room. We shoved a towel under the gap. Not that it will do any good; but made me feel better.
The toilet is like a kids toilet in kindergarten. When you get up; it's not sealed or bolted to the floor; the whole thing rocks.
The sink was I'm sure manufactured prior to my birth!!!!
The bed is comfortable enough.
So the first night I'm lying in bed reading as my husband is falling asleep when I hear the people in the next room talking and giggling and then well.....doing what couples do. It sounded like they were in our room.
Same thing in the bathroom. I can hear the other room occupants using the facilities.
WOW!!! I guess the one nice thing I can say is the AC is a beast and works great.
Buyer beware. If I could I'd sleep in the car. I'm that grossed out. Also can't move hotels because there is a huge music festival and most places are sold out.
Nice hotel, just the basics but ok. And they keep charging me $100 dollars days after I left
This was -hands down- the worst experience I have ever had at any hotel. I would highly recommend someplace different and would sooner sleep in my car before spending another night there.
The first night our key cards didn t work and we were locked out of our rooms at 11pm. They tried four different sets and none of them worked. The man working continued to answer the phone and assist other people rather than helping our issue first. After an hour of waiting, the maintenance guy finally showed up and claimed a dead battery in the door handle. He said he would be around at 8:30 the next morning to replace it and let us in. He never showed back up.
The following morning, the girl working in the reception office was incredibly rude. She was completely unaware of our issues the night prior. Instead of attempting to take care of the problem, she deflected and accused my mother in law of smelling like alcohol. She also accused us of keeping key cards and not returning the non-working cards.
On top of the rude staff and failed key cards, the hotel was FILTHY. There was an inch of dust on the dressers, lampshades, and ceiling fan. Walking on the carpet in our socks made them black. There was a trail of ants all over the bathroom sink and the shower didn t work properly as half of the water still came out of the faucet. The pool wasn t lit well and the parking lot was littered with trash. Breakfast consisted of coffee, juice, cereal and mini muffins. Hope you re not hungry.
We are still working on getting our money back. We stayed at the Hampton the rest of our visit.
Just called, trying to get info to rent space for a meeting is impossible, I talked to multiple people, everyone wanted to give me a new phone number to call. Bad service.
12 night stay.
80s style bedroom! the housekeeping service needs to be reviewed: vacuum cleaner passed once during our stay, mirror and bathtub not cleaned, sink clogged, forgot to clean our room twice despite our complaints.
Breakfast included = bowl of cereal / coffee otherwise it's extra 10 dollars. Very long service, despite the friendliness of the staff (luckily).
We chose this hotel because it was close to our daughter's home but I don't think I will go back.
Ideal hotel for golfers.
Best place to get a deep tissue massage. Right when I shook Pamela's hands I knew I was going to get a great massage. She wrap my head in this towel and did a crazy neck move that was absolutely amazing. I get massages with my wife many times a year and this is a great spot.
The golf course is challenging and it is in good condition. Staff is friendly
The only reason why this place is getting a star is because we are getting free WiFi and we're able to connect our box to watch TV.
I haven't even been here an hour and I should've known it was going to go wrong once Roger at the front desk said he didn't have my reservation. So he had to call Priceline to get my info and he stated "I don't have anything but have to honor the reservation. I'm getting you a suite. However, don't use the sofa bed, it's broken".
Get to the room, cards don't work. On my way to the room, I noticed how outdated and motel/inn looking it is. Go back to front desk, get cards redone. 2nd trip to room, cards work but barely get they door open.
Once inside, the first thing to catch my attention was the outdated room and the TV smaller then my smartphone. I do my usual inspection of nothing broken, no bugs, water working, etc. and no complaints yet. But then I noticed there's no TV in the sleeping area. I open the closet looking thing and bam! A tv ... don't get too excited for me. Remote didn't work and channels were not viewable. This is a minor complaint as again, we hooked up our box to the Wi-Fi.
At the kitchen area, this is where I'm PISSED! Ants all over the counter top, around the coffee machine and mini fridge. The door to the bathroom barely opens as it it's blocked by one of the beds. And finally, it's just old!
I've stayed at hotels, motels, resorts and Air B&Bs. I've had my fare share of 1 star and 5 stars. The "just deal with it" and the "I don't want to go home" rooms. This is NOT a resort, nor a 3.5 star resort at that. We've had a long drive and long day to leave and seek another place for a 1 night stay. So just beware.
Our room was not very clean, we found flossers in the bed and there was water in the bathtub. Other than that the waitress who was taking care of the contenintal breakfast was very friendly and conversational. We were really only in the room to sleep.
The place smelled a lil old. There was no microwave in the room, but the bathroom was a nice size
I have stayed there two times on our way to Miami for a Carnival Cruise. The first time the room was very Sandy and humid even though I ran the air conditioner, the second time the air conditioner was not good... and their continental breakfast was a joke the food was terrible. I assume if you're a golfer this is probably the place to go other than that I would never stay there again
Course was a little wet, but thoroughly enjoyable. I won the money.
Very nice and welcoming. Another great staycation.
Stayed here for 4 nights due to hurricane Irma because we lost power at our house for days. We got here and check in was pleasant, but when we entered the room it smelled very very old. The furniture is very outdated. The Tv in the " living room" is from the 80s and very pixilated. The little kitchen is has is nothing really. The microwave doesn't really work. When we entered our room area that is when we noticed how old everything really was. The closet smelled of rotten wood. The lights didn't even turn on. The bed was squeaky and very uncomfortable. The bathroom was the worse. Our sink was clogged with someone else's hair! You could see it! It was disgusting. The floor of the bathroom was almost black. It was really bad. We didn't get our towels changed until two days later. We only came here because there was no other hotel available in the area due to the hurricane. Honeslty would not recommend.
I reserved my room a week in advance! Made it to South Florida around 12 noon on my check in day and room was not ready at arrival. I left to get some lunch came back at 2:30p and my room still wasn t ready. Waiting to see how the room looks, and was it even worth the wait!!
Terribly, car pass only ; coarse need a lot of maintenance. Or you going to have it close.
While this hotel is conveniently located, it is very outdated and in need of major renovations. The rooms are very dark, in fact, 2 of our light bulbs didn't work. The carpet had a lot of stains on it, there's mold in the bathroom, and rust on the towel racks. We didn't get in the pool but walked around it and noticed it too needed some updating. On our first night there, we couldn't find the TV remote. I called the front desk to ask for one and was told that she would write a note for someone to bring me one the next day because maintenance and housekeeping were gone for the day. Needless to say, no one called or came by with a TV remote. Luckily, we ended up finding it under the bed, in the middle of the bed, the next morning. The continental breakfast was just OK. Make your own waffles, fruit, bread & danishes or muffins. We did go to the gym one morning, and the facility is very nice with plenty of equipment. I am not a golfer, so I cannot comment on the golf course, I did however see a lot of people there golfing on what appeared to be a beautiful course.
Overall, I would not stay at this hotel again, nor would I recommend it to anyone.
The hotel looks like it was beautiful at one point on its life now it is run down, lacks maintenance and it is not very clean at this point we are praying for no bed bugs to take home.
Good price, excellent service and good service, I recommend it.
Location was ideal, the grounds were very well manicured, the rooms were average. Free WiFi was excellent and the continental breakfast was minimal at best.
Hello all, I am not the one to post ratings but I have decided to share my experience. This hotel only shows really nice pics. However, the rooms are HORRIBLE. I paid a little over $150 to enter a room that had extremely poor housekeeping. I wet a napkin and the dirt that I wiped was just so unreal. When I went to the front desk, Olvia (the employee), informed me that unfortunately that site is an old site and that the rooms were outdated. My friend, outdated is one thing but dirty is a whole different level. I did not has much want to put my bag down. The entire furniture was so filthy. A picture was given to the FD employee. The worst part of the entire evening was that I was unable to find another reasonable hotel in the area at the last minute. Management have to upload real pictures on the web and stop providing false advertisement. This is very unprofessional.
Good for the price. Simple and clean. Quiet, no tourist location.
Terrible wifi network that refused to open any google search at all on the server. Boring breakfast choices. Key card only worked after 10 tries each time.
Could be the worst golf course I have ever played. Pure garbage. Stay away.
Nice golf course. Unfortunately, that is the only thing I did there.
The place is very beautiful, but unfortunately the rooms have not been renovated, they smell musty, the carpet looks dirty.
I visited here for the mothers day brunch and i hate to say it, but the food did not fast nice at all. For the price that I played here I expect better. The place is falling apart and smells weird. They need to Invest in a sneeze guard for their food. Save your money
Went to Golf, course needs to be a bit more maintained, also the golf attendant's were sloppy and made for an unwelcoming drive to the first tee.
We had an event there in the ball room and it was amazing but the rooms need some work
Great price for rooms but if someone left more than 2 starts review is because they probably didn't notice how many cockroaches there is. I stayed with my family for almost a week and after two days we couldn't handle the horrible and giant cockroaches all over the room, behind the couch, even on our clothes at some point! The hotel is beautiful at first sight, you can take great walks but for me it's not worth the price and the view for the cockroaches. We spent a lot on money for the rooms and the staff didn't do anything. Even the manager ignored us and everyone was very unprofessional about it.
Awesome place. Nice golf course. Good prices. Good customer service from the staff. Rooms are a little shabby, kind of dated. But not as expensive as you'd expect, so it balances out. I like this place, I'd recommend it.
Yellow water coming out of bath tub while my son took a bath. Not sure if it's urine. Spoke to front desk they are asking for time to fix issue but can't explain why the water is coming out yellow. Toilet doesn't flush. For 135$ a night this has to be one of the worst hotels I have stayed at. Google states it's 3 stars. This hotel is more like a 1 star.
This place has BED BUGS!!! I stayed there this past weekend on Saturday night and stayed in a room with two double beds (one for me and one for a friend) and we woke up the next morning covered in bites from head to toe. The beds are super uncomfortable and obviously dirty, the walls are paper thin, and they are completely unorganized when it comes to the hours for the restaurant and room service. I will never stay here again and advise you not to either.
Older hotel and not very many upgrades, but most come for the golf. Good location
Nice golf course but greens are super slow to the point of being unputtable.
Friendly staff however the rooms are very outdated and had a couple of issues with housekeeping (take dirty towels but did not replace them with fresh towels). Great location overall.
The worst, dirty, really bad, does not even deserve a star.
Nice golf course just be prepared for slow old people that don't block others from playing through
Bad experience .. the rooms are very old .. especially the bathroom .. we arrived at about 20 .. and the hotel restaurant was already closed .. lost in the middle of nowhere .. and left to ourselves .. for luck we only stay one night ..
This place has three different 9 hole courses. We played the Royal then Sabal. The Royal was in average shape but the Sabal was horrible. The greens were almost unplayable due to some sort of disease.
Staff are great and the course is in great condition
Old and a bit run down. Rough bathroom. Hard bed. Overall, decent place though. EXPENSIVE golf.
Highly recommend the grand palms hotel and spa try it for yourself
Hotel facilities need major renovations. However the golf facilities are pretty decent and affordable.
Exterior is older but well kept. Room left much to be desired. Carpet was very worn and had a large burn. The toilet rocked from side to side and was quite entertaining. The bathroom clearly hasn't been updated since the 80s and the towels were pretty rough. On a bright note, bed was comfy and the a/c maintained just the right temp. Breakfast was...meh. Outside of that, would not stay here again.
One of South Florida nicest golf course.
The first time I went there I had to run out at the 8th hole for an emergency, Sean Kicker(Gm) took good care of me and welcomed my brother and I back to finish out the rest of the course. He even met us at the 9th hole to make sure we were taken care of. Great customer service with a beautiful golf course can t really ask for more. Pace was fine and was easy to find distance with GPS in the golf cart. If you haven t had a chance to play here definitely try it! Can t wait to come back!
Very basic but clean rooms overlooking a golf course. No refrigerator, microwave or elecyrric kettle alrhough there was a small voffee maker. Very lumpy uncomfortable pillows. Housekeepers helpful, and promptly brought extra blankets during a very cold snap. They sought more comfortable pillows, too, although there were none to be had. Diningroom had a nice sunny aspect overlooking another part of the golf course. But the breakfast itself was basic with a lot of standing around waiting for more coffee, more bagels, more milk and even more cups. Understaffed restaurant and so staff unable to keep up with clearing and cleaning tables while keeping the buffet stocked. Guests moved into a roped off area to eat which displeased a manager. However, he rolled up his sleeves and came an cleaned tables himself thoroughly with chlorox spray. Diningroom and front staff friendly.
An ok hotel, rooms are sub par (small and dated) to get a fridge we had to rent for 10. Breakfast was cereal, toast, waffles with tea or coffee anything else requires payment. Staff was ok no wow moment. Concerned that the hotel lacked visible security. It was more of a 1.5 star experience. Nicely kept grounds.
Fabulous hotel ..old school but very nice never rushed us to check out ..great cozy stay
Great. Very cordial and helpful people working golf course. Chris was great
Awful awful awful!!!!! Soon as I walked into the lobby. I heard the front desk person say, A black man..... I was about to turn around then but my lady was too tired to look for someone else. This was definitely not what I expected, its totally different from what you see online. We had a horrible night the place have rats we saw two rats on the way to the ice machine. It's run like a motel, this was a very disappointing stay.
This hotel is over-rated and out-dated. Housekeeping was abominable. When I checked in, only 1 hanger was in the closet. I was given only 4 more even though I requested more. I had to go to Walmart & buy more hangers. The next morning I reported the glass plate from the microwave was missing. That night it had not been replaced. The next night I returned to my room & there were no washcloths or hand towels. I was brought 7 washcloths but no hand towels. The next night I returned and found that my room had not be cleaned at all! My ashtrays were never emptied nor was the coffee maker cleaned. The next day I complained to the Customer Service Manager who said everything would be taken care of. I asked about all of the inconvenience or the previous nights. He said he would look at my account and see what he could do. On my last night I returned to no towels again. For over $100/night, I expect more than this. All smoking rooms are on the second floor which can only be reached via outside cement stairs in darkness after 7pm! No elevator at all and if you check in after 5pm or out before 9am, valet service is not available to assist with luggage. When I checked out, I had not received any credit, so I complained again. A few days later I received a 10% credit, not even the amount of one day's stay. I would not stay here again if THEY paid me!! Also, slept in my cloths at night because the bed sheets were crumpled and had blood stains - did not look like they had been laundered. Think twice before you book this hotel!
