I have sent paperwork 3 times each time they say it takes 3-5 business days to process...after waiting 3 days...they say wait 5 days, then I call and they said, dont have it...send again! I send again and wait 5 more days, now they said the first page is incorrect and I have to wait another 5 days! This is 3 weeks of ridiculousness! I have called over 7 times...I spoke with the Supervisor, Kim and she will not give me her last name... It's hindering me from making a living! What am I paying for?

I went into the office today and was greeted by Mrs. Strickland who was kind and professional. I only had to wait about a minute or two before Tawain was available to assist me and he was quite helpful as well as efficient. I also spoke to Mrs. Leonard over the phone and she was pleasant as well. The people leaving bad reviews may need to be reminded that the energy you put out is the energy you receive back. Every interaction I've had with the front desk staff has been great!

I've just spoken to Miriam and was greeted with such a pleasant voice. She was professional when conveying to me news I really didn't like but her delivery softened the blow. I too read all the negative reviews yet still expected the best. I wasn't disappointed!

Absolute worst. Tawain is awful. No consideration for anything but his paycheck I'm sure... He's not the only one either. I think they're all up there collecting a government paycheck sitting on their hands.

They have screwed up my license and renewal license twice now. I will be writing a letter(s) to the Governor. I'm happy to see so many other people have had issues with them.

I am licensed in multiple states and GA is by far the absolute worst to deal with and most unprofessional. I seriously think they are up there to get those great government benefits and no one will fire anybody. And on top of all of that, they seem totally CLUELESS about the industry.

It's my third time here. Every time I come they need a new document since they don't know how to answer questions in full. I rushed over here and got here at 4:20 PM. They're supposed to close at 4:30 PM but they were long gone by the time I got there. I'll give it a fourth shot!

Can I leave negative stars? They haven't responded to 5 emails I've sent in perfect format to make it as easy as possible for them. I've called and they DISCONNECTED THEIR PHONES and other days they just let it ring.

sounds like GREC needs an overhaul. the dmv has better customer service.

filed a claim in 12/18 . Got a case number form letter mailed to my old address. Called 9/19 spoke to Miriam. No update, Called 10/9 spoke to Elysia No update. Phoed 11/19 received a call from Michael Shugart and he told me he would get back with me with the results of his investigation. This is August 2020 and no response back from him. Be prepared to be in their PHONE TRAP for over 20 minutes before anyone answers the phone. Still on hold..

Impossible to get in touch with anyone. I've called three times, each time waiting for 20+ minutes for someone to answer, and they never do. I've also sent multiple emails. GREC makes it very, very difficult to be a professional real estate agent in this state.

The worst customer service ever. I have only had to 2 wonderful representatives 1 was Carol, a beautiful person. The other people that are holding these jobs are keeping them from people who would do alot better. To the mean people that work at the GREC I'm sure no one would miss you!!!

Hands down worst customer service I have ever experienced. I asked Taiwon information regarding whether I had to take a test or not & he couldn't give me the answer. I am reinstating my license. I asked to speak w/his supervisor, bc maybe she could help me & he told me I was rude. He began speaking incoherently & fast talking over anything I tried to say. He would not let me speak w/anyone else & told me he was putting in my notes that I am rude. This is the first negative review of anyone I've ever written. Its a shame anyone can keep a job these days & get away w/treating people so poorly. I paying the GA Real Estate Comm $1600 this week. No one should ever be treated this way especially not a paying customer.

Mrs. Leonard was very rude and condescending. Every question I asked politely as this is my first time here was met with sarcasm and she was very argumentative.

She was obviously annoyed and upset because I guess it was time for her to go. I got there at 4:15 (I thought they were opened until 5). She told the other lady in the front o h I m going to knock this out and go home and then called me up. So I m guessing she was upset because I came in so late. However that is not a reason to treat anyone that way. Customer service should not be determined by how late it is in the afternoon especially if you re still open.

I don t even feel like she s going to turn my work in because I felt rushed and she was in a hurry. I also got no proof or copies of the paperwork i submitted. Horrible first encounter.

Terribly uninformed and providing miscommunication. I inquired about getting my reciprocal license because their website says I don't have to take an exam and their application says I do. I was told twice on the phone I do not have to take an exam. I went through all the time and expense of completing my application, including a $170 money order, and my application was sent back saying I have to take the exam. When I called back for clarity, they again said I don't have to take the exam. Nobody can give me correct information. I'm licensed in 5 other states and have never dealt with this type of confusion at a commission before now.

Terrible. Called several times, which they did not document. They had me running around doing the wrong courses, and then license lapsed anyway. When it came time to reinstate, I asked if they could help with a fee abatement, since they gave me the wrong info. They said they had no record of my previous calls. Typical government, don't care, don't have to try, no accountability scenario. For new agents who don't know what to expect, I hope your broker is very knowledgeable, or GA is going to make payroll off you.

Almost 1 year ago I filed a complaint with GREC regarding Sotheby's International Realty in which a valuable piece of artwork was missing from my mother's home within 60 days of listing with Sotheby's. I have received excuse after excuse. First, the case or file was never received. Then when I pulled the email that was sent to me as verification that they received it, then miraculously the file was discovered. Then it took the pressure of having to push to have it investigated. The investigator was the only pleasant and professional person that I dealt with. At least, she contacted me by phone and was helpful. February will be one year, and I have not received anything in writing. When I stated that I would be contacting the Attorney General's office, suddenly a representative sent an email (without an official title or contact information attached) who asked if my address had changed, because it had been sent. Really!! Do the math here. Is GREC here to diplomatically find solutions or brush them under the rug. To date, I still do not even have a written response how this matter has been handled from a disciplinary position.

Their customer service department in this office is horrible. I have called multiple times for weeks and waited on hold for approx. 25 minutes only to be hung up on. When I did talk to someone he didn't seem like he knew for sure the answers to my questions. I called again the next day and got totally different answers as to the process of applying for my new brokerage. Once I followed through with the steps in the order I was told I found out it was completely wrong. I called and spoke to someone else once I found out and she was very rude and basically said sorry there is nothing I can do, you shuold have asked the right questions. In the end, I was able to get everything worked out but not on account of anyone at the real estate commission helping me through the process.

Not sure how or why Tywon even has a job here! The ABSOLUTE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! This simple minded individual clearly hates his life! My husband called in to check on the process of his application and Tywon refused to do his job......which is very simple answering calls & answering questions. Tywon even stated that because he was unhappy with the conversation, he would not give me the answers I was looking for. How UNPROFESSIONAL!!!! Instead of trying to fix the issue, which is what anyone with common sense would do, Tywon literally refused to even try to answer any of my questions. I really hope those calls are recorded & I hope the Board will be reviewing those calls as well. Because this is simply ridiculous! No one with this much lack of common sense, professionalism & integrity should be able to hold a position or ANY POSITION in an office as such!

Felicia Hubbard is awesome, not that she reflects everyone there. I hope she never retires, but that would be selfish! I've dealt with DORA in Colorado and Washington DC. Atlanta and DC have been much nicer. DORA in Colorado is very difficult.

Rude and very unprofessional. I do not see how you all are getting things done here in Georgia. On hold for 30+ minutes and no one picks up. I went to the office and the person sitting at the desk would not even acknowledge that I placed an application under the door. I could see this person through the glass door. Surprisingly, I received an email communication, very crude tone to the email as I asked for clarification. Sheesh!

Worst customer service. Called three times. All three times the operator picks up after waiting in line for 20 minutes, either talk for a second or remain silent while you hear shuffling in the background, then they hang up on you. Disgraceful.

Update: finally got someone on the phone. Who are you hiring? Everyone I have talked to has an attitude when you ask them a simple question. Like you are bothering to ask at what stage your application is at. I have an emergency situation which requires that I get this as soon as possible and there is no empathy there. I have called to ask if I can pick up the letter instead of having it mailed since I have to close on a house since my lease is up and I am buying a house. Interest rates shot up to all time high in four years since waiting for this application and the people I talk to will not do anything to even empathize. "Sir, it takes 3 months to complete the background, 5 days to mail it, and around 5 days for you to receive it." Do you realize that people are depending on these licenses as a livelihood? You cannot empathize enough to just have them be able to pick up a letter instead of mailing it?

My reciprocal license in Georgia were placed in an inactive status for lapse in post-licensing education even after I have provided documentation from the Florida Real Estate Commission that was post-licensing were completed here over 20 years and have always had an active license until this day. Once post-licensing is completed in one state it is not required in the reciprocal state. I have called everyday since Monday, Sept 21st, 2020 with no results or call back. The customer service is the worst. Now I sit in limbo!!!!

If I could give a zero I would. Moved to GA and needed information on how to transfer or apply for reciprocity. I spoke to the RUDEST, most UNPROFESSIONAL PERSON I ve ever spoke with! 8/20/2020 10:30am GREC who ever is answering your phone as a informational specialist you may want to reconsider someone else for this position or train them how to be professional considering they are represented your business. I truly hope this isn t an indication of what I ll have to deal with in GA.

This office is AWFUL. No one answers the phone and they take WEEKS to respond to emails while providing absolutely NO INFORMATION whatsoever. They sit on your paperwork for months and do nothing with it then close your application without warning (no calls, emails, nothing) or reason and tell you to RESUBMIT. When you ask for information they just disappear off the face of the earth and never get back to you. Most unprofessional department EVER. If I could give them zero stars I would.

Does anyone work here??? I ve only ever spoken to someone once out of a cumulative 30 calls. Emails go unanswered for weeks and then if you do get a response it is a completely useless short answer that is not helpful at all. Please hire more staff!

Absolute horrible customer service. I sent paperwork and a money order in February and never heard anything back. I was told two completely different thing by a lady named Ms. Leonard. I was initially told I needed to submit $100 which I sent then told another $275 which I sent only to be told they most likely will need $50 more. Are you kidding? I ve sent emails that receive no response. I am extremely disappointed!

I called to ask some questions about Georgia s reciprocal relationship with South Carolina and was on hold for 12 minutes, then when she finally answered she was honestly quite rude and seemed like she didn t want to help or even have time to listen to what I was asking. I see why they have 2 stars.

This is a poorly run department. I have followed procedures to file a Request for Investigation. I submitted all paperwork in June. It is December and my case has not even been assigned to an investigator. Six months and not even assigned. Who gets to get away with that?

Update: May 2019- case was assigned and investigated. The investigator sent results to the Board who allegedly met yesterday. I still have no information regarding the disposition of my case. This is going on 12 months.

Completely Unresponsive and they clearly do not care about their job or helping people at all. I have tried calling them countless times just to sit on hold for 20 minutes and then have a recording tell me to try again later and disconnect me. I have sent emails - all of which have been ignored. GREC needs to take a close look at their administrative support practices and hold people accountable.

I see everyone is complaining about this Tiwan guy but I had a great experience. He made sure that everything was handle in my case. I been in this business 23 years and I am license in 5 states and I have firms in North Carolina, Georgia and other states, the issue majority of the time is not the Commission but individuals like some of you who instead of sticking to the point call to complain, did not do your courses and so you begin to make remarks that are disrespectful. Imagine someone coming to your place employment and being disrespectful. Deputy Commissioner Coffee is a great leader as well as the lady I spoke to before Ms. Hubbard and a woman name Kim. I saw someone said they just collecting a check and because they are State employees they work for you, that is not how government work and I am sure with that thinking you are the ones who are disrespectful. These people don't need the added stress. Before you call someone unprofessional as my grandmother use to say in Dublin, you may need to clean up in front of your own front door. Leave those hard working people at the Commission alone and take on the responsibility of your own action after all you all are grown.

typical government agency... No one will go the extra mile to help anyone. Moreover, it is nearly impossible to reach anyone via phone and forget any customer service. If "negative stars" existed... GREC would fall in that category.

My experience was prompt and more than efficient. In fact, things moved along much faster than I anticipated. I had no issues requesting nor gaining information. Excellent experience.

I just wanted to edit the above review because I had to return to this office August 2019. Mercy these reviews are awful but I just didn t have that experience. I was in and out of that office at least 3 or 4 times in one week and each time I had zero problems. Each person that assisted me was kind and generous with their time and explained everything to me that I needed to know. I was promptly assisted and they ladies there were professional and offered more information than I needed because they knew I would need it. Great experience.

I ve only spoken to two people on the phone and both have been very unprofessional. The first lady told me they had everything the needed for my license and nearly hung up on me. ( a week later with no update) and I call and Taiwan answers and tells me the form isn t right, something the other woman obviously didn t check. He was also very rude and not helpful.

Horrible service. I've been trying to contact them by phone and email since August with no response.

Update: FINALLY spoke to a representative on the phone today! Something that took 1 min to complete took 3 months to get done because no one would reply to my emails or take my phone calls. I bumped them up from 1 star to 2 stars only because the guy I spoke to was helpful and professional.

As always amazing customer service. I called and had a phenomenal licensing technician Ms. Alizia Stargell. She was extremely polite, professional and knowledgeable. I've been licensed for many years in Georgia and have always had an amazing experience with the Georgia Real Estate Commission staff and representatives. Georgia by far has the best licensing teams.

I ve only had two live phone calls due to automated response high volume of calls since August, mind you I ve called everyday only to be placed in a queue for 30 mins at a time. Never have I spoke to people that hated there jobs this much. If no star was an option that would be my recommendation.

It took 3 weeks to get my license transferred and it was stuck in "inactive" status. I was unable to work. Tried to call multiple times. Sent emails. Never any answer or response. If you can finally ever get through to an "information specialist", they'll put you on hold and hang up. It's happened multiple times now. Not an intelligent tool or process to be found. Not shocked at all. Exactly the incompetence I expect from a state agency.

I have had the pleasure of working with a number of reps at GREC both from a broker and school director position. I can't say enough how helpful they have been. Felicia has picked up my call a number of times and helped me through questions and issues I needed to work through. Ken, GREC's education director, went above and beyond to help get our school and courses set-up. GREC is a great team of professionals who deserve the appreciation of the public and especially the real estate industry in Georgia. Thank you for your support!

After being on hold for 23 minutes the representative was rude and demonstrated a bad attitude from the start of our conversation. Unacceptable and makes our industry look bad!

18 it's June 10 I received 1 phone call in middle of May stating I had one more report to get no letters no nothing the instructions are not clear. So I did that and overnighted the form the same week and still NOTHING! You can call all day long any day and you will get no one terrible introduction to Georgia Real estae commission so far. If everyone is working remotely then no one is apparently really working! Frustrated and totally disappointed
